LEBANON, Tenn. (July 23, 2010) – Fans attending the fourth NASCAR race to be held at Nashville Superspeedway this season on Saturday, August 7 – the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Nashville 200 – will have the opportunity to not only enjoy side-by-side racing under the lights, but continue the efforts of “Race Fest for Flood Relief,” which directly assists those in need as a result of the recent Nashville-area floods.
Race Fest for Flood Relief
The NASCAR Nationwide Series kicked of the “Race Fest for Flood Relief” campaign at Nashville during their action packed race weekend in June. Their efforts raised $72,668 in monetary donations for Hands On Nashville and the American Red Cross, and nearly 900 pounds of non-perishable food items that were donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.
An online auction kicked off Thursday through The NASCAR Foundation website that will benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Fans can log onto www.NASCAR.com/foundation to bid on the numerous NASCAR and country music industry- themed items, including an autographed Taylor Swift guitar, a signed Jimmie Johnson helmet and an autographed Richard Petty hero card, among others. The auction will run until August 3, 2010 at 6 p.m.
A NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver autograph session is scheduled for August 7 at the Expo area located outside Gate 3 at Nashville Superspeedway. The session will run from 2-3 p.m. In exchange for admission, fans are asked to make a canned good or monetary donation that will benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. A limited number of wristbands will be issued in advance of the session, beginning at Noon, on a first-come, first-served basis.
