Brent, who had been on a solid streak before the Mansfield incident, would be involved in one of the worst crashes of his young ARCA career. However, the accident hasn’t stalled the determination or momentum of the Justin Allgaier Motorsports (JAM) driver but instead shifted focus of beaming back from the mishap in style.

Refocusing his goals and the team’s intentions for the ARCA RE/MAX Series season, the JAM team participated in the open-test at the newly opened short track and Brent was satisfied with the results of the eight hour session.

Robb Brent

“The Iowa Speedway is a nice place,” explained Brent, who is juggling a full-time ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule between attaining a college degree. It’s a track that actually suits my driving style very well, so I’m extremely optimistic about our chances this weekend.”

He continued, “We spent the day tweaking on the car while I also familiarized myself with the track. The short tracks haven’t been our weakness but there is definitely room for improvement and that was one of the reasons we decided to test. It should pay off for us.”

With the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series season nearly half-over, Brent is overall pleased with himself and his team but feels that his team will shine through the light during the season’s second-half.

“The first half of the year has been a building foundation for myself and our team,” sounded Brent. “The full-year program came together very quickly, but I think we’ve made the best of it. We’ve had some good solid runs this year but we’ve also experienced our misfortunes. That’s just part of the game. We know what we need to do in the second half and I think we will. A nice top-five finish at Iowa Saturday night is what we’re shooting for.”

Even with his 25th place at Mansfield last month, Brent still retains the 11th position in the ARCA RE/MAX Series championship standings but ground has been lost towards entering the top-10 and the 22-year old is eager for a rebound.

“Mansfield hurt us, and that’s putting it lightly,” Brent explained. “We can’t dwell on the finish but instead get back on track with a good finish at Iowa. It’s another short track this weekend but that doesn’t have any effect on me. I think the Iowa race will be a good event for the fans and I think we can grab back some of the points we lost.”

Washington Township, Michigan based Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep will continue it’s long-time association with Brent and serve as the primary sponsor on Brent’s No. 36 Dodge Charger this weekend. Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep has backed Brent since his entrance into racing at the age of 16.

Prior to joining Justin Allgaier Motorsports, Brent participated in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driving for NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski and Brad Keselowski Racing. In his 25 ARCA starts, Brent has acquired two top-five finishes and nine top-10 efforts. Brent notched his career best qualifying effort of second at Kentucky Speedway last year. He has led the ARCA RE/MAX Series pack twice for 21 laps in 2008. His best finish in the NCWTS occurred at Nashville Superspeedway in his inaugural truck debut where he finished 21st after qualifying 26th.

This season, Brent has four top-10 finishes in eight starts with a best finish of seventh at Pocono Raceway earlier in June. A 15th place qualifying effort at Michigan International Speedway in June is the team’s season best thus far.

The Prairie Meadows 200 (200 laps / 175 miles) is the 10th of 21 events on the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The fourth ever ARCA race at Iowa Speedway is a two-day show. Practice begins Friday July 10 with an hour and half practice session planned from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Menards Pole by Ansell qualifying is set for Saturday, July 11 slated to begin at 4:00 p.m. The event will take the green flag shortly after 8:00 p.m. The event will not be televised however flag-to-flag coverage will be broadcasted live through the ARCA Racing Network (ARN) online at arcaracing.com. All times are local.

(July 7, 2009) Steve Arpin returns to Deer Creek Speedway this Wednesday night as he takes the Pinewood Sports and Marine modified into action as part of the Gopher 50 in Spring Valley, Minnesota. Arpin’s run in the mid-week special that features the World of Outlaws will come in his Taylor Chassis open wheel modified which came close to a win in its first outing last Saturday night. Following the Wednesday night racing Arpin will head to Iowa Speedway for this weekend’s ARCA race at the Rusty Wallace owned facility in Newton, Iowa. Arpin and his Taylor Motorsports team are ready to contend for a first-ever ARCA series win.

‘We’ve gotten ready for Iowa this Saturday night in our ARCA car,’ notes Arpin. ‘Last week’s practice helped us gain on our goals for this week and I’d really like to get our first win at Iowa Speedway, but we are also going to have fun tomorrow night in our modified at Deer Creek in the open wheel portion of the Gopher 50,’ Arpin said. It’s a big show for race fans up here in Minnesota, Wisconsin and across the border. We had a good run going last weekend at Viking Speedway and were good enough to win that one again before the transmission broke,’ Arpin noted on last Saturday nights run. ‘Jeff Taylor had a great car prepared for us and I think I’ve got a good feel of his new Taylor Chassis cars so we hope we can win one for our friends at Pinewood Sports in front of a lot of our fans on Wednesday night. It’ll be a packed house with the World of Outlaws there.’

Arpin is currently ranked in the seventh spot in the season-long ARCA RE/MAX series championship standings and seeks to move up in the championship standings this weekend as Pinewood Sports leads the backing for the Taylor Motorsports entry into Iowa Speedway. With continuing partners Lo-N-Bro Enterprises teaming up to help lead the Eddie Sharp Racing Toyota team, Arpin is hungry for the checkered flag on the legendary touring series. This past weekend Arpin attempted to defend his 2007 title in the Minnesota Modified Nationals at Viking Speedway. After winning his heat race in the Taylor Chassis prepared machine Arpin found himself in the thick of a battle for the win at the midpoint of the event. While running in third place, slicing and dicing for the lead with two other competitors Arpin fell off the pace and was sidelined with transmission problems.

Mark your calendar for Steve Arpin’s next ARCA run for the winner’s circle in the ‘Prairie Meadows 200’ at Iowa Speedway on July 11th at 8:00 p.m. (Central). The ARCA Racing Network will be covering all the on-track activity for the ARCA RE/MAX Series from Newton, Iowa. Listen and watch live streaming audio and video of practice, qualifying at ARCAracing.com inside the ARCA Nation. Arpin’s Open Wheel Modified carries a number unique to Arpin’s Canadian roots, the ’00 eh’ with horsepower provided by Tim’s Automotive. Stay in tune with Steve Arpin Racing efforts from this Wednesday night battle in the Gopher 50 from Deer Creek Speedway as the talented Canadian racer takes his Pinewood Motorsports Minnesota Modified Nationals efforts and next weekend’s Iowas Speedway run on the internet at www.steveaprin.net.
