Pena, an 18-year old Winchester, VA native will enter his 3rd season on the K & N Pro Series East in 2012, his first two were as part of the NASCAR Diversity Program. Pena made the racing world take notice in his NASCAR debut at the Toyota All-Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway in 2010 when he beat Sprint Cup veteran Joey Logano for the pole award and finished 2nd in the event – his first time in a K & N Pro Series car. Last season, in just 12 races, he scored three wins, seven top-10 finishes and finished 5th in the series point standings.

“I am so excited for this opportunity,” stated Pena, a current Radford University freshman. “I couldn’t be more thankful to Shige and the best group of guys behind me such as Matt Goslant and Andy Santerre. We all work together very well and with them behind me, I know we will definitely be one of the teams to beat this year.”

Pena will be driving for Hattori Racing Enterprises. Formed in 2005, this will be the first year they have competed full-time on a NASCAR touring series. Owner, Shigeaki Hattori is a Championship-winning former racer. He earned the Formula Toyota title in 1994 and competed in the Indy Racing League’s Indy Lights and IndyCar Series. He also competed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Born in Okayama, Japan, Hattori currently resides in Cornelius, NC and knows what it takes to win. “People in an organization are the key to the organization’s success . If you hire the right people with knowledge and experience, success will follow,” explains Hattori.

Setting the foundation for Hattori Racing Enterprises are four-time NASCAR K & N Pro Series Champion Andy Santerre, who will manage the race team and Championship-winning Crew Chief, Matt Goslant. Goslant and Pena were a team last season where Pena won three of 12 races, scored seven top-10 finishes and finished 5th in the series point standings.

“I am excited to be working with Sergio again this season,” Said Northfield, VT native, Goslant. “He has the talent to be a champion and we are a good team together. We communicate well and he trusts me to put the car under him. He gives me 100% and I could not ask for anything more in a driver.”

HRE will field Toyota Camry’s with manufacturer backing from Toyota Racing Development . “We are thrilled to have Toyota on board,” stated Hattori, who has had a long-standing relationship with the brand. “Toyota cars won every race in the series last year and I don’t expect this season to be any different.”

HRE is located in a state-of-the-art building owned by Germain Racing in Mooresville, NC and was designed by Hattori so he could continue to enjoy American stock car racing while developing young, talented drivers.

(July 13, 2011) – Alex Bowman will make his New Hampshire Motor Speedway debut this Friday in the New England 125 for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series.

The 18-year-old will climb into the seat of the No. 59 St. Jude Children’s Hospital Toyota for X-Team Racing after piloting X-Team’s No. 16 for five of the first seven races on the schedule.

Quote from Alex Bowman … “It will be good to get back on a big track. (New Hampshire Motor Speedway) is definitely one that suits my driving style. The team I have behind me this weekend – Robert Huffman, Tony Lambert, everybody else – really understand what it takes to be good at this track. A lot our crew have worked with Andy Santerre in the past, and Andy is one of the best to ever get around this place. I know they’ve learned a thing or two from him.”

Reaching out to St. Jude … Bowman and team have invited St. Jude patients, with their respective families, to watch the New England 125 from the comfort of an at-track suite.

Most Recent Race … The Tucson, Arizona native qualified second and finished sixth in his first-ever start at Langley Speedway (Va.) in last Saturday’s NASCAR K&N Pro Series race. He qualified on the outside pole and led the first lap of the 175-lap event. After running in the third to fourth range for the majority of the evening, several late-race restarts tightened the field and shuffled Bowman through the pack, resulting in a sixth-place finish.

Standings Update … Bowman is currently seventh in the K&N Pro Series East standings – the highest-placing rookie – after earning top-five finishes at Greenville-Pickens Speedway (S.C.) and Richmond International Raceway (Va.). He is six points out of sixth-place and seven points out of fifth.

(Jan. 26, 2011) – NASCAR and Revolution Racing announced the 2011 driver lineup – the eighth season for the Drive for Diversity (D4D) program – tonight during NASCAR’s annual Charlotte Media Tour at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C.

This year, the D4D initiative looks to build upon its success in 2010. Ten drivers will participate in the 2011 Drive for Diversity Program – four in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and six in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series.

Last year, former Dale Earnhardt Inc. President Max Siegel created the Revolution Racing team along with former DEI and Robby Gordon Motorsports executive John Story. All 10 drivers will race for the team, which is headquartered in Mooresville, N.C.

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East teams are operated under the direction of four-time K&N Pro Series champion Andy Santerre, and the six NASCAR Whelen All-American Series teams are led by former Greenville-Pickens (S.C.) Speedway track champion Blair Addis.

Revolution Racing is a minority owned NASCAR franchise whose mission is to develop minority and female drivers, pit crew members and mechanics through an “academy-style” training model. All D4D competitors relocated to Mooresville and entered the development program under the single team ownership structure.

“As team owners, John Story and I appreciate the commitment and support NASCAR has given our academy-style training model,” Siegel said. “Revolution Racing’s historic on-track performance last year validates our driver development model. I am proud to be able to provide opportunities for minority and female drivers, crew members and mechanics.”

Entering its eighth season, Drive for Diversity is NASCAR’s leading on-track diversity initiative. The program is designed to give young minority and female drivers opportunities to compete with established NASCAR teams at the grassroots level. Since 2004, 42 drivers have competed in Drive for Diversity, winning 38 races.

“We are proud of the progress this important initiative and its drivers have made over the past eight years,” said Marcus Jadotte, managing director of public affairs for NASCAR. “We look forward to the continued leadership of Max Siegel, which is bringing Drive for Diversity to the next level.”

This year’s class represents drivers from across North America. Six drivers will return from 2010.

Last year, the eleven drivers combined for five wins. African-American driver Darrell Wallace Jr., who will return for his second year, earned rookie-of-the-year honors. He became the youngest to ever win the award in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. Hispanic driver Sergio Peña won the pole for the Toyota All-Star Showdown at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, Calif., then finished second to 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year Joey Logano.

Over 200 minority and female drivers applied to be part of the 2011 Drive for Diversity class. Thirty-six of those applicants were invited to tryout at the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Combine presented by Sunoco last October at Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Va. Drivers were selected by Revolution Racing and NASCAR officials based on their on-track performance and off-track interviews.

NASCAR and Revolution Racing selected the following 10 drivers to compete in the program:

Jorge Arteaga of Aguascalientes, Mex. will race in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. Arteaga made three starts in the 2010 NASCAR K&N Pro Series including a 10th-place finish in his debut at Lee USA Speedway on July 30th. He won the 2010 NASCAR Mexico Series Most Popular Driver Award.

Mackena Bell of Carson City, Nev. returns to the Drive for Diversity Program for a second season, and will race in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. In 2010, three of her five starts in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series were top fives, while her best finish came on Aug. 20 where she finished second.

Jessica Brunelli of Hayward, Calif. will race in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. Her 2010 season included six top-five and 10 top-10 finishes. She returns to the Drive for Diversity program for a second season.

Michael Cherry of Valrico, Fla. returns to the Drive for Diversity Program for a third season and will race in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. Last year he competed in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, becoming the first African-American to win a late model race at Tri-County Motor Speedway in Hudson, N.C. The win also was his first career late model stock car victory.

Trey Gibson of Easley, S.C. will race in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. In 2010, Gibson ran a full schedule of late model stock cars at Greenville-Pickens Speedway where he had two poles, two wins, 11 top fives and 20 top 10s. He made history by becoming the youngest driver to win a late model race at the historic Greenville-Pickens Speedway.

Ryan Gifford of Winchester, Tenn. returns to the Drive for Diversity Program for a second season, racing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. Last year, Gifford became the first African-American in NASCAR K&N Pro Series East history to win a pole position, on June 6. Gifford ran 10 races for Revolution Racing in 2010 in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, recording four top-five finishes, one pole and a 10th-place finish in season points.

Tayla Orleans of Randleman, N.C. will race in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. From age 7, in her first 120 races she recorded 31 wins and 92 top fives. Since that time, she has won numerous karting championships and honors that include becoming the youngest stock car winner in the history of Waterford (Conn.) Speedbowl history

Bryan Ortiz of Bayamon, Puerto Rico will race in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. In 2010, Ortiz drove for Sterling Marlin Racing in the Sunoco National Tour, recording a pole and four top-three finishes in seven races. He won rookie-of-the-year honors after capturing rookie of the race awards in all seven starts.

Sergio Peña of Winchester, Va. returns to the Drive for Diversity Program for a second season, and will race in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. He entered his first NASCAR K&N Pro Series race at last season’s Toyota All-Star Showdown at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, Calif., winning the pole, and finishing second to 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year Joey Logano.

Darrell Wallace Jr. of Mobile, Ala. will race in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, and returns to the Drive for Diversity Program for a second season. Wallace was the youngest and first African-American to win a race and rookie-of-the-year honors in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. He captured two victories in the series last season – the most of any Drive for Diversity driver last year.

About Drive for Diversity

Drive for Diversity develops minority and female drivers in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. Since the creation of the Drive for Diversity program in 2004, 42 drivers have competed, winning 38 races. Drive for Diversity also supports pit crew athletes each year in the Drive for Diversity Crew Member Program presented by Sprint. Much of the success of the Drive for Diversity initiative is a result of support from key sponsors and involved team owners.

USA Speedway. Elsa Garrison / Getty Images for NASCAR

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Aug 1, 2010) – Darrell Wallace Jr. made a three-wide pass for the lead with two laps to go and held on for the victory Friday in the K&N Pro Series 125 at Lee USA Speedway. It was the second NASCAR K&N Pro Series East win of the season for the 16-year-old Revolution Racing driver from Mobile, Ala.

“It definitely hit us right away this time,” said Wallace. “I’m excited, the whole team is excited. I was talking to the crew under the red flag and I told them [the leaders] are going to wash it up and I’m going to go under them and take the win and that’s exactly what happened.”

Wallace started behind Ryan Truex and Eddie MacDonald on the race’s final restart. Truex and MacDonald had swapped the lead four times over the previous 35 laps, and appeared setting up for a final dash to the checkers for the win. But it was Wallace who had drove up through the field after getting tangled up in an early race incident and wound up stealing the spotlight. He dove inside the side-by-side leaders going into Turn 3, and emerged with the lead coming out of Turn 4 for his second win of the season.

Wallace became the youngest driver and first African American race winner in NASCAR K&N Pro Series East history when he won the season opener at Greenville (S.C.) Pickens Speedway in March.

Wallace, second in points, closed the gap on defending series champion Truex to 33 points with three races remaining.

Marc Davis returned to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East this weekend for the first time since 2008. He finished eighth at Lee USA Speedway in the No. 8 Revolution Racing Chevrolet.

“I was really appreciative of Max Siegel and everybody at Revolution for putting me in the car this week,” said Davis, who is eyeing a return to the Nationwide Series at Dover in September. “These guys needed a good run. They’ve struggled the past couple weeks. Just had a bunch of bad luck. So they put me in the car for this one race, and we came away with a solid top ten.”

Sergio Pena carried a special paint-scheme this weekend, promoting the upcoming docu-reality series “Changing Lanes,” which premieres on BET Network September 1. Pena drove the No. 4 Changing Lanes Chevrolet to a 15th-place finish at Lee USA Speedway Friday night, despite damage from a mid-race incident. Pena is currently 12th in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East standings.

Ryan Gifford saw his night come to an early end at Lee USA Speedway after getting caught up in multiple on-track incidents. The final blow to the No. 2 Revolution Racing Chevrolet came at lap 116 when front end damage sent the No. 2 machine to the garage. Gifford was credited with a 19th-place finish. He slips to eighth in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series standings, but is just 26 points out of fifth-place.

The K&N Pro Series 125 will air on SPEED on Thursday, Aug. 5 at 6 p.m. ET.

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East will return to the track on Saturday, Aug. 28 at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, Ga.

LAKEVILLE, Conn. - Seems everything in racing is about hardware — from wrenches and jacks to toolboxes and war wagons.

The K&N Pro Series East teams found out Saturday morning at their pre-race drivers meeting at Lime Rock Park that they’ve got a new piece of hardware coming. NASCAR officials unveiled a new championship trophy for the series, one that will become a permanent fixture beginning with the conclusion of the current season.

Six series champions — Matt Kobyluck, Mike Olsen, Andy Santerre, Dale Shaw, Mike Stefanik and Ryan Truex — were on hand for the unveiling.

“It’s great to have K&N in the series, and obviously they’re putting a great effort in,” said Santerre, a four-time champion as a driver who now heads Revolution Racing and its four entries. “Seeing that championship trophy for 2010 is pretty awesome. They did a nice job. It looks like something you’d see more in Cup or Nationwide. … I think it’s a pretty cool deal.”

An identical trophy was unveiled Saturday at the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West event at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, Calif.

Kobyluck and Truex still actively drive in the series, while Stefanik competes full-time on the Whelen Modified Tour, where he’s a seven-time champion in addition to the two K&N Pro Series East titles on his resume. Shaw’s son, DJ, now competes as a driver, while Olsen fielded two teams in the K&N 100 Saturday out of his Fadden Racing stable.

“I think the good thing about that whole deal is that we’re all still here in some respect,” Santerre said. “We may not be turning the steering wheel, but Mike Olsen, Dale Shaw — some of the other guys there — we’ve all put a lot of effort into building this series. It’s nice to see everybody sticking around and being a part of it.”

NASCAR will have two versions of the trophy each year. One will stay at headquarters in Daytona Beach, Fla., while the other will go to the championship-winning team. The trophy will be adorned with a perpetual base, similar to the National Hockey League’s coveted Stanley Cup as well as NASCAR’s other national and touring series trophies, with a list of each champion in series history.

“The new K&N Pro Series East trophy is definitely a classic,” Kobyluck said. “It’s one of those first-off editions that everybody wants to get their hands on. It’s really cool looking. I’m really happy to have K&N as our title sponsor, and they’ve brought a nice trophy for us all to race for and get there at the end of the season.”

ALL OR NOTHING: Dale Quarterley, the 49-year-old Massachusetts native making just his third career Whelen Modified Tour start, employed a win-or-go-home strategy that won him the inaugural Lime Rock 100 with the part-time No. 52 Furnace and Duct Supply Chevrolet team.

While virtually all of the leaders stayed on the track during a caution period with 20 laps remaining, Quarterley pitted for fresh tires and drove through the field for a second time — passing Todd Szegedy with four laps remaining for his first career Whelen Modified Tour victory and third overall at Lime Rock.

“There’s no way I was going to beat Szegedy and Teddy Christopher with what I had left,” said Quarterley, who also owns two Lime Rock wins in the K&N Pro Series East. “Coming through the field the first time, we just used up way too much tire. (The team) came here to win — they’re only on a limited schedule and that’s all they care about.

“It was a no-brainer. The second the caution came out, we were pitting and we knew it.”

Szegedy, who led the first 62 laps of the 66-lap event, said his team never really considered pitting.

“We got beat by tires,” Szegedy said. “I wish we’d never seen that (late) caution flag. We were going to win this race.

“I thought we were going to take tires. I was kind of banking on that, but we didn’t. What are you going to do? You can’t blame the crew for it. We were the leader. You had to know that someone might take tires at the end like Dale did. We had to take a chance, I guess, and stay out.”

Quarterley seemed most pleased by becoming the first driver in history to win both a K&N Pro Series East race and a Whelen Modified Tour race at Lime Rock.

“A couple people have given me major power for taking the K&N guys and beating the Modified guys with it,” Quarterley said. “I don’t really look at it that way. We’re all one family. We’re all doing the same thing — our drivers, anyways.

“You should be able to drive anything and be competitive in anything — like Teddy Christopher does.”

BATTLING BACK: Defending K&N 100 winner Ryan Truex finished fifth and even managed to extend his K&N Pro Series East points lead over Darrell Wallace Jr., but that barely told the day’s story for Truex.

Truex was leading on a Lap 44 restart when he drove off the track’s first turn, falling all the way back to 12th. He spent the next 20 laps fighting his way to the top five.

“I just over-drove it. I got down in the corner and I started wheel-hopping,” Truex said of the restart, when he handed the lead over to Cole Whitt. “It was either spin out or take it all the way out to the grass. It’s my fault. I feel bad. I had such a good car.

“I’m happy we got back up to fifth, but our car was really good. We definitely had the fastest car today and should have won the race, but I gave it up.”

Once the Michael Waltrip Racing driver cracked the top five, he had to wrestle an ill-handling race car.

“Coming back up through there, somebody — I think it was the 77 — I got into and cut the left front tire,” Truex said. “It was starting to go down, and the car was getting really hard to drive. It was a handful at the end. I just hate it for everyone.”

OF NOTE: Quarterley’s victory was only the first half of his day of double-duty. After wrapping up Whelen Modified Tour victory lane ceremonies, Quarterley changed out of his firesuit and grabbed a radio headset and headed to pit road. He’s also the crew chief for Jeff Anton’s No. 30 East Coast Resurfacing Chevrolet in the K&N Pro Series East. … Some big names encountered trouble in the Whelen Modified Tour Lime Rock 100. Points leader Bobby Santos finished 17th after blowing an engine on Lap 62, while fifth-place qualifier Rowan Pennink’s day ended with a broken axle on Lap 2, though he did return to run a handful of laps late.

(June 7, 2010) – It was another historic weekend for Revolution Racing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, with Ryan Gifford earning his first career Coors Light Pole Award for the UNOH Performance 200 at Martinsville Speedway. Gifford went on to lead 99 laps of the race before a battery failure dropped him to the tail-end of the field on a restart. He rebounded to a 12th-place finish in the rain-shortened event.

It is the first East series pole for Revolution Racing and the fifth pole for the team in its five months of operation. It is also the most laps lead by a Revolution Racing driver this season. Gifford is the first African American pole winner in NASCAR K&N Pro Series East history.

“I really wasn’t expecting the pole, I was expecting a top five, but to come out here and get it done on the second lap when everyone else was running their fast-time on their first lap is awesome,” said Gifford, driver of the No. 2 Revolution Racing Chevrolet. “It says what kind of cars we have over there at Revolution. I wish I could say somebody’s name and thank them for coming on board, but we really don’t have a big name on the side of the car this week so hopefully that will come about for the next few races.”

Darrell Wallace, Jr., who became the youngest driver and first African American to win a NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race earlier this season, scored his second consecutive third-place finish in the No. 6 Revolution Racing Chevrolet, leading 15 laps along the way. Wallace is currently second in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East standings, just 8 points behind leader Ryan Truex.

“It was a great points day for us, it moved us up to second which is awesome but I hate we had to start at the back,” said Wallace, who qualified fifth but started at the rear of the 32 car field due to an unapproved adjustment. “It was a fun race, I had to use a lot of patience and work my way through the field to the third-place finish.”

Sergio Pena, driver of the No. 4 Revolution Racing Chevrolet, qualified third for the UNOH Performance 200 and ran in the top 10 for most of the day. Pena was forced to pit for damage to the left front fender after an accident late in the race and slipped to 14th before rain moved into the area, shortening the race to 175 laps. Pena is 14th in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East standings.

Mackena Bell’s string of bad luck continued this weekend, with motor problems plaguing the No. 8 Revolution Racing Chevrolet all weekend. Bell also suffered a flat tire and had to pit under green, putting her three laps down to the leaders spoiling what could have been a top-10 run for the No. 8 car. She finished 18th in the race after qualifying 24th, but continues to show improvement every week.

“I was really impressed with Mackena this weekend,” said Jerry Babb, crew chief for the No. 8. “She fought two issues that were out of her control between the engine trouble and the flat tire, but used it as motivation to keep digging instead of letting it get her rattled. We see improvement with her every week. Race four was better than race three and race three was better than race two. Her stamina and physical fitness level is right where they need to be, and now she has some experience in these East cars. We’re confident that race five will be even better than race four.”

The UNOH Performance 200 from Martinsville Speedway will air Thursday, June 10 at 6 p.m. ET on SPEED.

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East returns to action Friday, June 25 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Wallace led three times for 22 laps in the No. 6 Revolution Racing Chevrolet, taking the lead for the final time on a green-white-checkered finish to the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150 at Greenville (S.C.) Pickens Speedway on Saturday night.

“I kept spinning my tires,” said Wallace. “I told myself to just relax – you’ll get them back. And that’s what I did and I came home with the ‘W’”

Wallace’s win also earned him Sunoco Rookie of the Race honors.

It is the first win for Revolution Racing, a majority minority-owned race team owned by Max Siegel and John Story. Revolution, which operates four NASCAR K&N Pro Series East teams and six NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model teams, focuses on driver development through a unique academy-style program.

Three of Wallace’s Revolution Racing teammates also competed in Saturday night’s Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150. Ryan Gifford battled back to a fifth-place finish after two spins in the No. 2 Distribution One Chevrolet.

Mackena Bell, the only female driver in the 30 car field, scored a top-20 finish in her NASCAR K&N Pro Series East debut, driving the No. 8 Revolution Racing Chevrolet.

Sergio Pena, who made his NASCAR K&N Pro Series debut in January during the Toyota All-Star Showdown, was involved in a wreck on lap 65 that sent his No. 4 Revolution Racing Chevrolet to the garage. Pena was credited with a 28th-place finish.

The race broadcast will air Thursday, April 1 at 6 p.m. ET on SPEED.

Revolution Racing will return to the track in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East 150 at South Boston (Va.) Speedway on April 3.

(March 21, 2010) – Jessica Brunelli looked impressive in her debut at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway last night, coming from the back of the field to a third-place finish in the 100-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model race. Brunelli, Revolution Racing’s only late model rookie, had just two career late model starts going into this weekend’s race.

Brunelli’s Revolution Racing teammates, Katie Hagar and Jason Romero, finished sixth and eighth, respectively.

Jessica Brunelli

“I’m proud of myself and my team,” said Brunelli, driver of the No. 3 Revolution Racing Late Model. “I couldn’t have asked for a better car tonight… that was probably the best car I’ve ever raced. I’m glad I could give Revolution Racing a good finish in our first race here at Hickory.”

A mechanical issue during her qualifying warm up lap forced Brunelli to miss her qualifying attempt and start at the tail-end of the 14 car field. That didn’t slow Brunelli down, however. By lap 35, she had worked her way into the top five and settled comfortably into the fourth position. Race leader Kyle Moon pulled into the pits with a flat tire on lap 65, moving Brunelli into third place.

A restart with 15 laps to go gave Brunelli the opportunity to battle with the leaders, but she couldn’t advance her position and settled back into third. A late race charge by fourth-place Candace Muzny kept Brunelli on her toes. Muzny couldn’t make the pass and Brunelli crossed the line third for her career-best late model finish.

Hagar, driving the No. 4 D4D Crew Member Development Program presented by Sprint Late Model, finished sixth after qualifying 12th.

“I had my hands full tonight, that’s for sure,” said Hagar. “We didn’t get a lot of practice yesterday with the No. 4 D4D Crew Member Program Late Model, but I’m proud of all the hard work the guys put into getting the car ready for the race. We’ll go back to the shop and get it better for next week.”

Romero finished eighth in the No. 2 Distribution One Late Model after a 10th-place qualifying effort.

“It’s good to get the first race of the season out of the way and I’m looking forward to coming back out here next week and doing it all over again,” said Romero. “I can’t thank everyone at Revolution Racing, Drive for Diversity and Distribution One enough for their support. This is going to be a great season.”

Brunelli, Hagar and Romero return to Hickory Motor Speedway next Saturday, March 27.

(March 10, 2010) – Michael Cherry will make his return to Greenville (S.C.) Pickens Speedway this weekend, driving the No. 6 Distribution One Late Model for Revolution Racing. Cherry finished sixth in the Greenville Pickens Speedway Late Model division standings last season with seven top fives and 19 top 10s in 21 races.

This season Cherry is focused on one thing – winning races.

“I know what to expect this time around,” said Cherry. “I’m going into this weekend as a veteran and not as a track rookie. I have the support of Revolution Racing behind me this season, and I’m confident we have what it takes to go out there and win races.”

Cherry, 20, is entering just his third season of asphalt racing. Prior to the 2007 season, Cherry raced dirt late models in his home state of Florida. When Cherry was invited to join the Drive for Diversity program in 2007, he transitioned from dirt to asphalt.

After a season at Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Va., which resulted in a Rookie of the Year title, and a second season on the asphalt at Greenville Pickens Speedway, Cherry is ready to expand his asphalt resume.

With Revolution Racing’s academy-style development program, he’ll have that opportunity.

“We have the people and the equipment to compete with the best,” said Cherry. “Max Siegel and John Story have put together a top-notch operation and I’m excited to be a part of what’s happening with Revolution Racing and the Drive for Diversity program.”

In addition to Greenville Pickens Speedway, Cherry will get seat time at Caraway Speedway (Asheboro, N.C.), Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway and Tri-County Motor Speedway (Hudson, N.C.). He also works 20 hours a week in the race shop, trains three times a week with strength and conditioning coach and participates in competition meetings and testing.

“It’s going to be a busy year, that’s for sure,” said Cherry. “I’m looking forward to making the most of this opportunity, and I’m really looking forward to showing everyone what we’re capable of when we go racing in Greenville this weekend.”

Cherry, along with Revolution Racing teammates Rebecca Kasten and Megan Reitenour, will compete in the season opening Twin 50s at Greenville Pickens Speedway on Saturday night.

Three Revolution Racing drivers – Michael Cherry, Rebecca Kasten and Megan Reitenour – will compete in the Twin 50 events.

Event Information:

LMS Twin 50s (100 laps of racing)

Greenville Pickens Speedway

Saturday, March 13 at 8 p.m.

Michael Cherry

Team: No. 6 Distribution One Late Model

Crew Chief: Lee McCall

Cherry on his return to Greenville Pickens Speedway:

“I’m excited to go back to Greenville and see all of the drivers I raced against last season. I’m going into this weekend as a veteran and not as a track rookie; with the support of Revolution Racing behind me this season, I’m confident we have what it takes to go out there and win races.”

Fast Facts:

· Cherry ran a full season at Greenville in 2009; he earned seven top fives and 19 top 10s in 21 races.

· This weekend marks the start of Cherry’s third season of racing on asphalt, and just his seventh year of racing stock cars.

· Crew Chief Lee McCall is no stranger to Greenville Pickens Speedway – as crew chief for Marty Ward, McCall won 13 races at GPS last season.

· This is Cherry’s third season competing under the Drive for Diversity banner.

Rebecca Kasten

Team: No. 5 D4D Crew Member Development Program presented by Sprint Late Model

Crew Chief: Lynn Martin

Kasten on making her first start with Revolution Racing:

“We’ve been working in the shop here in Mooresville since the first of the year, so I’m definitely ready to get to the track to go racing. I’ve always driven for my family owned team so it’s been an adjustment to come down here to North Carolina to race, but Max Siegel and John Story have put together a great operation and I’m excited to be part of it. I think we’ll do some really great things this season.”

Fast Facts:

· Kasten started her racing career just three years ago, but has made up for lost time by running more than 20 late model and super late model events a year.

· Kasten is making her first start at Greenville Pickens Speedway this weekend. She’ll race at GPS at least four more times this season.

· Riding the momentum: Kasten participated in New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway’s annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing in February, competing in Crate Late Models and Super Late Models throughout the nine day event. Kasten ended the week with a seventh-place finish in the Pete Orr Memorial 100, the premier Super Late Model race of the week.

· This is Kasten’s first season of competition with NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity program.

Megan Reitenour

Team: No. 1 Revolution Racing Late Model

Crew Chief: Brandon Butler

Reitenour on making her first start at Greenville Pickens Speedway:

“I’m looking forward to getting out there and learning as much as I can. There are so many phenomenal race car drivers who compete at Greenville Pickens Speedway on a weekly basis; I just want to try to soak up as much as I can from them. Greenville Pickens Speedway is such a historic race track and I’m excited to get to be a part of that.”

Fast Facts:

· Reitenour has never raced at Greenville Pickens Speedway; she’ll be making her first and second starts at the historic track this weekend.

· Last season Reitenour earned Rookie of the Year honors at Tri-County Motor Speedway in Hudson, N.C. She earned one pole, seven top fives and 16 top 10s.

· Reitenour has two stock car wins under her belt in the Super Cup Stock Car Series; she’s looking for her first NASCAR Whelen All-American Series late model win.

· This weekend marks the start of Reitenour’s second season of competition with the Drive for Diversity program.

Robert Richardson, Sr., sole owner of R3 Motorsports, has named Steve Plattenberger as the team’s Shop Foreman to oversee the team’s day-to-day operations. John Quinn will crew chief the No. 23 Chevrolet driven by Robert Richardson, Jr. Both were with the team at the conclusion of the 2009 season.

Richardson, Sr. has two more veterans of motorsports lending their support in the corporate offices. LouAnn Santerre has been named the team’s Office Manager and Tim Packman was recently brought on as the Director of Communications and Marketing for R3 Motorsports.

“After trying to do this several different ways in the past, I feel we have a strong group of people to lead us into the 2010 season,” Richardson, Sr. said. “Plattenberger and Quinn have been working to get us ready for Daytona, and the rest of the season. The cars for Daytona are done and the California and Las Vegas are ready to get decaled.

“Right now, we have Robert Jr. in for 18 of the 35 Nationwide Series races. Mahindra Tractors is coming back for Daytona and some other races. We’ve been talking to other drivers about filling out the rest of the season with some deals they have going on, too. We do have the capabilities of going to two teams, as long as the situation is right.

“Plattenberger has the shop running full tilt right now and we have the cars we need to be competitive. Like most teams, we just need to secure the right partnerships to be even more successful. Once we get on the track this year, I’m very confident we will prove our worth in no time.”

Plattenberger, 51, is a native of Waxhaw, N.C. with 25 years of involvement in racing. He’s worked at Jasper and Hendrick Motorsports and helped Jeff Fuller to NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year honors in 1995. Plattenberger has also been a crew chief for Robert Pressley and then Stacy Compton at ST Motorsports in Nationwide Series racing. He also crew chiefed John Andretti at ppc Racing during his 2007 Nationwide Series campaign.

Quinn, 42, is a native of W. Springfield, Mass. who comes from successful endeavors on pit boxes for Roush Racing. In 2005, Quinn led Ricky Craven to a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory at Martinsville Speedway in the No. 99 car. The next year, he led Erik Darnell to Rookie of the Year Honors and a victory in 2007 during his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series endeavors. He was most recently with Circle Bar Racing.

Santerre is the sister of four-time Camping World East Series champion Andy Santerre and been involved in the racing field her entire life. The native of Cherryfield, Maine has worked in Public Relations, accounting and travel for several teams since 1996 on the NASCAR level. She’s also a licensed realtor.

Packman, 45, a native of Buffalo, N.Y., has been involved in NASCAR working for NASCAR.com, Dale Earnhardt, Inc., MRN Radio and most recently with Richard Childress Racing. He brings more than a decade of public relations, media and marketing experience to the team; along with a lifetime of involvement in motorsports as a writer, announcer and author.

Richardson, Jr., 27, has made 46 Nationwide Series starts since 2007 driving on a part-time basis each year. His best finishes have come at tracks like Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway where he has six top-20 finishes, combined.

“This team is the best it’s ever been going into a season,” said Richardson, Jr., who made his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut at Talladega last year finishing a respectable 18th. “In addition to John Quinn, we also have Jeff Kirkendall helping our engineering efforts. The same guys that ended 2009 with us have come back for the 2010 season and that makes you feel pretty good as a driver.

“I’m looking forward to Daytona and some other things we have on the table this year. It means a lot to have everyone working together towards a common goal of being successful.”
