season at the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series 2009 Championship
Banquet in Toledo, OH on Saturday, November 14. Jackson took home the
second place points hardware and had a chance to thank those who made
the 2009 season possible.

Jackson thanked his engine builder Doug Miller and sponsors Redbank
Transport, Lykins Companies, and Ultra Lube have been great to us over
the years. He also thanked R&B Fabrications and Dan Eakins. Jackson
also acknolwledged his father, Dave Jackson who was his crew chief as
well as his grandfather, John Jackson so has been one of Jackson’s
biggest supporters throughout his racing career.

“This year was a great year for us. I have raced in a number of
different series and this one is one of the best. It is laid back,
fun and you meet a lot of good people. I would have like to have made
it a points race with series champion Paul Hahn, but we had some
unfortunate mechanical failures. It could have been a fun points
race. Congratulations goes out to Paul and his crew,” Jackson said
after the banquet.

The series also announced that Phoenix Management Group, LLC, would
take over the day-to-day operation of the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck
Series by signing a multi-year licensing agreement with ARCA.

Jackson will weigh his options for next season and is currently
undetermined as to what his plans are. He enjoys the truck series and
is looking forward to another season under the new management group.
“We are currently looking for sponsors for the 2010 racing season and
would like to get some new people on board. We will see what the
off-season brings,” said Jackson.

ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series with a commanding win. Jackson
started in the 5th position, took the lead on lap seven and never
looked back. Jackson qualified 2nd and with the inversion, started on
the inside of row three. Jackson was no match for the field as he
started through lapped traffic and never let up. Jackson lapped all
but eight trucks in the twenty-truck field.

“You can’t ask for a better handling truck than we had here today,”
said Jackson in victory lane. “This Bagman Racing chassis was perfect
and our Doug Miller motor made more than enough horsepower. That
combination got us to victory lane. It was on a rail; all I did was
drive,” Jackson said.

Jackson finished 2nd in points behind three-time champion Paul Hahn.
Jackson had a few races where he did not finish that ended up hurting
his chances at competing for the championship.

“I just want to thank all of my sponsors and crew members for their
efforts this season. Redbank Transport, Lykins Companies, and Ultra
Lube have been great to us over the years. I also want to thank Doug
Miller and Dan Eakins for allowing me to drive their equipment. It
has been a great ride, just wish we could have finished some of those
races.”

Jackson is looking to race in the Winchester 400 in October in the CRA
Super Series Late Model. To do that, Jackson is looking for a tire
sponsor. “I would love to enter that race, but we need someone to
jump on board. That is my favorite track and have had some proven
success there.” Jackson has the track record in the trucks as well as
some quality finishes in the CRA Series.

“It’s the most out-of-control track I’ve ever been on,” said Coulter, who was lightning fast in the spring race at Salem, but did not have the luck to go with it.

“It’s a little unnerving at first, but once you get used to it, it’s an absolute blast. We had an awesome car our first race there; we just had some bad luck.”

Coulter’s memory of the old quirky short track goes beyond the race.

“Qualifying was nerve-wracking. My leg wouldn’t stop bouncing. But once you get into a rhythm in the race, you get used to it. But for me, it took some time to get calmed down enough so I could get into a rhythm.”

Coulter, in his first Salem appearance back in the spring, was running third when an issue with the battery caused him to lose several laps on pit road. Coulter eventually returned to the race 26 laps down. Nonetheless, he was able to learn a lot in preparation for his next go-round on the legendary, southern Indiana oval.

“I learned that the track changes so much and so fast. You have to constantly pay attention to what the track’s doing. And you find yourself racing the track, rather than your competitors, which is, in part, how you survive long enough to be there in the end. But, eventually, if you’re still in the game, you’ve got to start racing each other, which complicates things even more. Makes it even more exciting.”

Coulter also learned during his first Salem start that the line there is like no other.

“It took me a few laps, but I finally figured out where I had to be on the track to make a pass. It’s not something you can necessarily do in one corner – you have to plan ahead for it. You can’t pass off the turns unless you’re up high off the corners. I had to learn how to get through one and two so you could put yourself in a position to be on the high-side through three and four.

“I tried a few passes on the low end off turn four but it just screws up your exit. You have to get out of the gas; then they just blow by you (on the high-side) off four.”

After getting off to a slow start this year, Coulter, alongside veteran crew chief Harold Holly, have stepped up in a big way. The very effective duo finds themselves fourth in championship points headed into this Saturday’s Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic at Salem Speedway.
Coulter, a graduate of the USAR Pro Cup tour, says his confidence is on the rise.

“When I was running in the Pro Cup deal, I was losing my confidence. Then we hooked up with Harold Holly who has brought me up to his level, rather than come to mine. It takes a special kind of teacher to be able to do that. We ran fast at Salem because Harold gave me the confidence I needed to do that. He gave me a car capable of running fast without me knowing much about going fast there. He’s really built up my vocabulary when it comes to the whole thing.”

And with the aid of Holly, Coulter has answered the call.

After a career-best finish of second at Mansfield, Coulter nearly won earlier this month at Toledo. The 19-year-old Miami Springs, Florida driver was 20 laps away from victory at Toledo when the eventual winner muscled him out of the way in the closing laps. In addition to two Menards Pole Awards at Iowa and Toledo, Coulter has also earned top-five finishes Pocono, Michigan, Iowa, Berlin and the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds mile-dirt.

While all the tracks on tour are new to Coulter, Salem Speedway, having raced there once, will be a welcome site.

“We’re taking a different car to Salem. We think the front-end geometry is going to be better in this car. And now I know more what to expect out of the place. I’m excited to go back. We should definitely be a factor.”

In addition to the ARCA RE/MAX Series, the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series will join the raceday slate with a 50-lap main event. The ARCA Truck race will mark the season championship finale for the 11-year tour.

Practice for the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic 200 is from 1:05 PM to 2:35 PM followed by Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell at 4:00 PM. The ARCA Lincoln Welders 50 goes at 5:30 followed by prerace and driver introductions for the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic, scheduled to roll just after 7:00 PM.

He will be behind the wheel of the No. 1 LoanMax Ford at Salem Speedway for the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic in Salem, Indiana. This will also be the second visit in the 2009 season for the ARCA RE/MAX series. This track was the second race of the season back in April of this year.

KBIII’s last appearance at the 0.555 mile track was in September of 2008. During this race he led 24 laps late in the race when he ran over debris and cut a tire. He had to pit under green settling for a 19th place finish.

Ken Butler III

“Last year I thought I really had a chance to get a win at Salem,” said KBIII. “Then the debris on the track cut my tire and I had to pit. Because of this we just got too many laps behind and there was not enough race left to make up for it. I believe the LoanMax team can perform well this weekend and get a good finish that we deserve.”

The ARCA RE/MAX race will run in conjunction with the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series at the 33 degree banked track. The truck series will run a 50 lap event while the RE/MAX series runs a 200 lap event.

“This is an exciting track to race at,” said KBIII. “It’s a short track which are usually my personal favorite and it’s higher banked than most tracks we usually go to so it makes for faster racing. It’s just a lot of fun to race on.”

The short track action for the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic will be this Saturday, September 19th at 7:15 PM EST at the Salem Speedway in Salem, IN. For ticket information visit www.salemspeedway.com.

And when the night lights shine down upon the ARCA RE/MAX Series modern-day gladiators, race fans are in for a treat when the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic 200 rolls out Saturday night, September 19th at Salem Speedway.

Rough and abrasive, the track surface on the historic Salem high-banks is certainly not for the timid or weak at heart. It’s a 200-lap wrestling match with an old, quirky oval set in her ways. It’s as intimidating as it gets for drivers, especially rookies who have heard the Salem folklore over the years.

That is, unless you’re 19-year-old rookie Parker Kligerman.

“Actually, it really didn’t live up to its name,” said Kligerman, who finished third in his first start there back in the spring. “It’s really not so treacherous. It’s pretty straightforward really.”

“I don’t mean that disrespectfully. I just didn’t think it was as tough or hard as everyone made it out to be ……… or beginners luck maybe.”

Kligerman is currently tied for the lead with Justin Lofton in championship points headed to Salem. Each has 4520 points, 355 in front of Frank Kimmel in third.

“Winning races is our main goal,” added Kligerman, who has a season-high seven wins to Lofton’s five. “We come to win. If we accomplish that, the championship will take care of itself.”

Kligerman, who drives the Cunningham Motorsports Dodge under the Penske Racing driver development program, has been working with veteran crew chief Chris Carrier all year.

“I’ve said from the beginning that what I’ve been able to accomplish is a direct result of being able to work with Chris Carrier. He has definitely fast-forwarded my learning curve.”

With one race under his belt at Salem, Kligerman feels he’s more prepared to take on the famous southern Indiana short track.

“I’ve definitely developed more as a driver since we raced last time at Salem. I’ve learned more about the necessity to save tires. I should be much more efficient this time around.”

Kligerman also credits his ARCA dirt track experiences as key factors in his progression as a driver.

“I feel like the dirt races really helped with my learning curve. The dirt races play into the hands of the driver – being able to manipulate the car. It really put it back into the hands of the driver, and I reveled in that – being able to work in the car that way.”

Kligerman shocked most when, in his first-ever dirt track attempts, cleaned up at the Springfield and DuQuoin mile-dirts, winning both, becoming the youngest championship stock car winner at either venue.

Regardless of dirt or pavement, Kligerman, with no testing, has been a quick study no matter the track, most of which he hasn’t/hadn’t ever seen before.

“I feel like being able to learn quickly has been the strong point in my career.”

If Kligerman is able to win on tracks he’s never seen before in his first attempts, the competition may have their hands full when he returns to Salem for this Saturday’s race.

“I learned how important it is to keep the car clean (at Salem) so you have something to race with in the last 50 laps. I think it’s a good strategy to be on the newest tires in the end.”

Kligerman also leads the Bill France Four Crown headed to Salem over second place Kimmel and third place Lofton.

Salem 3rd Leg of Bill France Four Crown

Salem also marks round three of the 2009 Bill France Four Crown. a separate point fund within the 21-race ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule that tests drivers on a challenging combination of venues, including a dirt track (The Southern Illinois 100 at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds, September 7), a road course (The South Jersey Building Trades 150 at New Jersey Motorsports Park, September 13), a short track (The Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic at Salem Speedway, September 19) and a speedway (The Kansas Lottery 150 at Kansas Speedway, October 1). Former Bill France Four Crown winners include Davey Allison, Frank Kimmel, Tim Steele, Bob Keselowski, Jason Jarrett and Bill Venturini to name a few.

All on-track activity from Salem will be featured live in streaming video and audio at ARCAracing.com.

ARCA title contenders Justin Lofton, rookie Parker Kligerman and veteran Frank Kimmel lead a tight championship points battle into Salem, the site of Kimmel’s last victory on tour in September, ’08. Kimmel is the all-time winner at Salem with nine victories overall.

The winner’s list at Salem over the years contains a slew of ARCA champions including Kimmel, Iggy Katona, Jack Bowsher, Bill Baird, Patrick Sheltra, Justin Allgaier, Tracy Leslie, Nelson Stacy, Ron Hutcherson, Ramo Stott, Dave Dayton, Moose Myers, Marvin Smith, Bob Keselowski, Bob Brevak and Tim Steele.
ARCA Fall Classic Party to Feature Josh and Holly from CMT’s “Can You Duet?”

Josh and Holly, Kentuckiana’s hottest music duo, are scheduled to headline the annual Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic Party, presented by Danny’s Heating & Air and Guitars Strings & Things.

The talented duo, whose quick rise to prominence was facilitated by being selected for the 2009 edition of CMT’s “Can You Duet?”, will be performing following the 200-lap ARCA RE/MAX Series race on Saturday night, September 19th.

Josh and Holly, who were selected from over 6,000 other hopefuls for the popular reality TV show, perform a mix of county, blues and rock tunes during their live performances.

round of unfortunate luck in the last few races in the ARCA Lincoln
Welders Truck Series in 2009. After a fast start, Jackson has run
into some bumps along the way.

After finishing 5th at Sauble Beach in Canada due to a flat tire with
two laps to go, Jackson headed to Iowa Speedway on July 4th seeking a
good finish. What he found was an engine problem. Jackson started
with issues in practice and continued into the race. Jackson was
unable to complete a lap and finished 20th.

Jackson followed up Iowa at one of his favorite tracks in Winchester
Speedway. Jackson practiced well and set a new track record during
qualifying. During the race, after only 12 laps, Jackson pulled off
with mechanical issues and finished 18th.

Jackson decided to skip the Peterborough race in Canada, however the
race was rained out and rescheduled for August 22nd. Jackson decided
to enter the race. After qualifying in the first position, the skies
opened up and the rains washed away the race. Only 12 laps were
posted before officials pulled out the red flag.

After the weather outcome at Peterborough, Jackson tried his luck at
Lake Erie Speedway, a track he has been at before. Jackson once again
qualified in the 1st position and this time got to race. After
starting in the 5th position, Jackson worked his way up to 3rd where
he would finish the race. The truck was too tight and Jackson battled
it all night.

“It has been a tough month or so for us. It seems to be one thing
after another. We had a good run going, but things just happened.
Some things you can?t control and it is disappointing. But we will
head into the final race and finish strong. I am familiar with the
last track on the schedule and it should be fun. Hopefully we can get
this Bagman Chassis/R & B Fabrication/Harts Machine Service/Redbank
Transport/Lykins Companies Chevrolet into the Victory Lane one last
time,” Jackson said.

Jackson currently sits in the 2nd position in points and is 265 points
behind Paul Hahn. The series ends the season at Salem Speedway on
September 19th.

NEWTON IA (7-11-09) - Once Paul Hahn cleared Frank Wilson, the Canton, Michigan driver sailed away to win the IMTA ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series 50 Saturday night at Iowa Speedway.

“The truck was great,” said Hahn. “We had a push when we got behind Frank (Wilson). Every time I’d get to him, I’d lose the front end. Then I was finally able to snooker him in turn three and got the lead.”

Once Hahn got the lead, the two-time series champion increased his advantage to more than 10 seconds at the checkered flag.

Hahn, in the Hahn’s Powder Coating-Fox Auto Parts-Howe Racing Chevrolet, chased Wilson for 17 laps before he finally cleared him for good. From there, Hahn set sail and never looked back to earn his 24th career series victory. By doing so, Hahn padded his point lead and tied Chad Guinn’s all time win mark.

“That’s great, being in the same record book as Chad Guinn; he’s a great champion.

“I just can’t say enough about this facility; this place is so first class. And thanks to the fans. We usually run the local tracks and don’t get these kinds of crowds. Really appreciate everyone for coming out.”

Wilson was in position to finish second before he pulled off two laps shy of the finish with mechanical troubles. Wilson still finished 9th, two laps down.

Nick Gullatta, in the Thomson Automotive-Enerco-Mr. Heater Chevrolet, put on a show all his own, charging from the last position to finish second.

Rob Jones finished third in the R&B Contractors Chevrolet in front of Shawn Szep, who steered the Eye Catcher Charters-Kendall Motor Oil Chevrolet to fourth in the final running order. Ash Hawkins finished fifth in the A&K Racing Chevrolet, the last truck on the lead lap.

Local favorite Carl Moyer, from nearby Ankeny, Iowa, finished sixth in the Karl’s Chevrolet. Tim Schafer was seventh in the Double S Racing-G’s Pizza Chevrolet. Two-time series champion Bill Withers was eighth. Wilson was ninth. Tully Esterline was 10th.

Hahn not only led the most laps, but also earned his 19th career pole award earlier in the day to make it a clean sweep.

The ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series races next at Winchester Speedway Sunday, July 19th.

The 19-year-old has previously competed at the .875-mile D-shaped oval, most recently in 2008, recording a fourth place finish.

Coulter, who was fastest in the recent Iowa Speedway test, is on a roll lately coming off three consecutive top-five finishes at Pocono Raceway, Michigan and Mansfield Motorsports Park, where he finished a career-best second.

The 19-year-old driver circled the .875-mile short track in 23.138 seconds, an average speed of 136.140 mph.

“It’s the same situation as Mansfield. This will be my third time here at Iowa, so I could spend more time on how the car works on the track rather than having to spend all my time learning the track, or both,” Coulter said.

“I’m really looking forward to going back to Iowa. I’m returning to familiar tracks, and my past experience at the track should definitely pay off,” Coulter added.

“Iowa Speedway is a fun racetrack to compete on. The layout is awesome and, with the level of competition in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, it will definitely make for a great race for sure,” Coulter stated on returning to the .875-mile D-shaped oval.

The first on-track activity for the ARCA RE/MAX Series is a practice session on Friday, July 10 from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. Following the hour and a half practice session is an autograph session at Prairie Meadows Racetrack/Casino from 7-8 p.m. on Friday, July 10 in support of the Prairie Meadows 200 at Iowa Speedway. Prairie Meadows Racetrack/Casino is located in Altoona, Iowa, right off of I-80 at exit 142.

The Prairie Meadows 200 at Iowa Speedway is scheduled to go off Saturday, July 11 at 8:00 p.m. local time. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell precedes the race at 4:00 PM. The ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series will join the ARCA RE/MAX Series for an ARCA double-header with the IMTA 50 scheduled to go at 6:00 p.m.

All on-track activity for the ARCA RE/MAX Series and the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series will feature live streaming audio and video on the ARCA Racing Network at ARCAracing.com.

He trails car owner Jessica Sharp by just 25 points. But unlike Sharp, who’s had Justin Lofton in the driver’s seat everywhere in 2009, Cywinski has utilized three drivers so far in his quest for the car owner crown.

One of those drivers helping him get there is Portland, Texas’s Matt Merrell, who’s looking forward to getting back to familiar territory at Iowa. Merrell ran a Pro-Cup race at Iowa in 2008 and got to know the layout of the .875-mile D-shaped oval.

“We ran very well,” said Merrell. “We started on the front row, had a really good car, but we dropped a cylinder in the race and ran on seven cylinders most of the way. Still finished 10th.”

Merrell was also in strong contention for the win at Mansfield Motorsports Park with the ARCA RE/MAX Series in mid-June, leading 16 laps before the alternator stopped charging the battery.

“Felt like that one (Mansfield) slipped away from us. Felt like we could definitely have won that one. But overall, we’re pretty pleased with our season this year, especially after all the bad luck we had last year.”

For the most part, Merrell is sharing the no. 32 Win-Tron Racing entry this year with James Buescher. With the exception of Kelly Bires, who sat in at Talladega while Buescher ran the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race in Texas, it’s been the Merrell-Buescher tandem in 2009. Merrell has been in the seat for most of the short-track races while Buescher has occupied the Win-Tron chair for most of the superspeedways with the exception of Pocono and Talladega.

“If you’re looking for big track experience, the ARCA RE/MAX Series is it,” added Merrell, who finished an impressive fifth at Pocono.

“Knowing how the car should feel at higher speeds on the big tracks is important, and there’s a lot to learn.”

Despite Merrell’s 20th place finish at Mansfield, he’s been rock-solid everywhere else earning a career-best third place finish at Rockingham Speedway, a pair of fifths at Pocono and Toledo Speedway, and an 11th place finish at Salem. That, combined with a pair of wins from Buescher at Daytona and Kentucky, has the Win-Tron team in the hunt for the car owner championship. Both Buescher and Merrell are entered in Win-Tron cars for Iowa.

“We’re going to have two teams at Iowa, so we’ll see how that plays out.”

Outside of keeping his nose clean and the car out of harm’s way, Merrell, based on his past experience at Iowa, has an understanding of what it takes to run up front on the Newton, Iowa short track.

“I really think the high line is going to be what it’s going to take (at Iowa). We usually run the high line anyway everywhere we go. There are less people up there, and you can’t pass cars by following them on the bottom. That, and keeping the car free enough so you can get the most speed down the straightaways, I think, will be key.

“We’re still not sure which car will be our primary car for the race. We tested two in the Iowa test, but ran out of time on the one, so the guys will take ‘em back to the shop, put ‘em on the pull-down rig and go from there. The second car we tested could have been better; we just ran out of time.

“Either way, we know Win-Tron will have a top-notch car for the race. I know they sat on the pole (at Iowa) a couple years ago and finished third in the race.”

Looking down the road in 2009, Merrell is scheduled to drive the Win-Tron car at Berlin and again at Pocono.

“We want to run Rockingham at the end of the season too and the dirt tracks. If we get sponsorship fulfilled we can do all that.”

Merrell, when he’s not racing, works in the family business with his father.

“Working with my dad back home today – in the oil construction business. We’re checking on sites, looking for new jobs, whatever it takes. We lay pipeline, hook up wells, pretty much everything in the oil business except drill.”

After a little oil exploration back home, it’s up to Iowa Speedway for another ARCA RE/MAX Series adventure.

The Prairie Meadows 200 at Iowa Speedway is scheduled to go off Saturday, July 11 at 8:00 PM local time. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell precedes the race at 4:00 PM. The ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series will join the ARCA RE/MAX Series for an ARCA double-header with the IMTA 50 scheduled to go at 6:00 PM. The first on-track activity for the ARCA RE/MAX Series is a practice session on Friday, July 10 from 4:30 – 6:00 PM. The Star Mazda Series will join the race card on Friday with practice, qualifying and a race at 8:30 PM.

All on-track activity for the ARCA RE/MAX Series and the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series will feature live streaming audio and video on the ARCA Racing Network at ARCAracing.com

On the heels of back-to-back victories at Flat Rock Speedway and Mansfield Motorsports Park, the Loveland, Ohio driver is clearly putting a dent on Paul Hahn’s stat book.

Next stop: ‘the Beach’ – Sauble Beach, Ontario to be specific where miles and miles of some of the most pristine white sandy beaches in Canada await summer vacationers from everywhere while the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series prepares to rumble on the nearby Sauble Speedway quarter-mile oval. The fourth annual Rotella 100 is ready for take-off this Saturday night, June 27.

It’s also where Hahn, the defending series champion and current point leader reigns supreme. In three previous starts, Hahn is three-for-three in the win column at Sauble. He’s most certainly also eager to establish himself as the all-time ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series winner. Currently, three-time series champion Chad Guinn holds the all-time win mark with 24 victories. Hahn, a two-time series champion, is just one win away with 23. Hahn is also just 115 laps shy of Guinn’s all-time lap-leader mark of 1403.

Sauble certainly seems like the perfect venue for Hahn to etch away at those aforementioned milestone marks. There is, however, one major-league obstacle Hahn’s never had to deal with in the past at Sauble………..Jackson.

“I’m optimistic about going to a new racetrack,” said Jackson, in regards to making his first Sauble appearance.

“I like going to new racetracks,” added Jackson, who won at Mansfield last Saturday night.

Jackson, who DNFed with gear failure in the season opener at Toledo, also won at Flat Rock back in May. He somehow, someway managed to hold back one-hundred laps of Hahn to earn the Flat Rock win. Hahn had been nearly unbeatable on his hometown Flat Rock track, much the way he’s been at Sauble over the years.

“That’s what I understand,” Jackson said. “I’ve heard Paul’s been unbeatable at Sauble. But I also heard he was unbeatable at Flat Rock too.

“Actually, I was surprised I held him off the whole time (at Flat Rock). We were way too loose, but we hung in there and got the job done.”

Jackson also got the job done last week at Mansfield where he charged from the 10th starting position into the lead on lap 22, and then held off veteran Steve Christman to earn his fifth series victory. But unlike Sauble, Mansfield was a track that Jackson had been to before.

“I like Mansfield. I ran quite a few Pro Cup and late models races there. But I never had anything there that drove like this truck did. We made one adjustment all night and had a rocket ship. We’ve taken everything we learned with the Pro Cup series and late models and put it toward this truck.”

Jackson’s DNF in the Toledo opener relegated him to a 15th place finish there while Hahn went on to lead all 100 laps. Headed to Sauble for the fourth race of the season, Hahn leads by 50 points over Jackson, who trails in second.

“We’ll just keep chipping away at the points. If I can keep this pace up, we’ll be okay. But he’s (Hahn) gunna have to slip and we’ll have to be there to capitalize.”

Trouble is, if you’re holding out for Hahn (right) to slip, you may be on a long waiting list. Hahn, in 92 career series starts, has earned 49 top-5 finishes and 66 top-10s, not to mention the championships, the victories and the laps-led.

“You can’t take anything away from Paul; he’s earned everything he’s got. He’ll be tough at Sauble; we already know that. Paul unloads and he’s fast right off the trailer everywhere. He usually makes a few laps in practice and parks it. We’ll need all the practice we can get at Sauble.

“I’ve heard it’s a mini-Martinsville, so brakes are going to be important. We just put new brake ducts on the truck, new brake pads. I’m okay as far as the track being flat. I’ve spent a lot of time on flat tracks like that.

“I’ve also heard the fans there are something to be talked about. That’s nice to get that kind of support; we’re all really looking forward to going.

“I think I can win. Will we be good enough to win?; I don’t know. But do I think we can win? I think I can win.”

In three previous ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series events at Sauble Speedway, Hahn has won all three. Hahn led 83 of 100 laps in last year’s race; however, Nick Gullatta led most of the way in 2007 before giving up the top-spot less than three laps from the finish. Gullatta also owns the one-lap Sauble track record with a time of 15.075 seconds.

Practice for the Rotella 100 ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series race is scheduled from 4:00-4:45 PM ET Saturday, June 27 followed by pole award qualifying at 6:00. The Rotella 100 is scheduled to start at 7:00.

The ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series, following the Sauble Speedway event, heads next to Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa on Saturday, July 11 for an ARCA double-header alongside the ARCA RE/MAX Series Prairie Meadows 200.

Statham, GA (June 18, 2009) – The Cunningham Motorsports teams have a full head of steam moving forward to Mansfield, Ohio for this Saturday afternoon’s race. Driver Parker Kligerman will look to maintain his consistency in the points race, in order to, hold on to the top spot. Cunningham Motorsports impressive resume of drivers that are auditioning for the Driver Development program continues with the addition of Late Model Champion Hal Martin. Hal is from Galliano, Louisiana.

General Manager Mark Gibson stated, “Everyone here at Cunningham Motorsports is really looking forward to this weekend. We hope to keep the momentum from last week at Michigan going.

Parker continues to improve and surpass our expectations for a rookie. After the rough start for the #4 team, last week’s third place finish was just what we needed. Chase did a great job at Pocono and Michigan. Those races proved how good this team really is. This week Hal Martin from Galliano, Louisiana will be driving the #4 car. He is a great kid and fits in very well with our team. We plan to test Thursday at Lanier Speedway in preparation for Mansfield. The good part about a new track is that everyone is in the same shape as far as knowledge of the track. Hopefully we will have a good test and be ready to go when we check in on Saturday.”

“I’m really excited for my ARCA debut at Mansfield this weekend. I have been racing late models for four years, and was fortunate to win the Championship at Mobile, Alabama. Cunningham Motorsport has given me a great opportunity to race the #4 Dodge Charger. I am use to short tracks and if I stay out of trouble then we should have a great day. Cunningham Motorsports was a great fit for me. I met with the team and really felt good about moving forward. Hopefully everything will go well this weekend. We want to run a few more races this year and then run the full schedule for 2010 with the Cunningham Motorsports team,” added Martin.

Kligerman is looking forward to another short track victory and maintaining the points lead this weekend. Parker continues to impress both his team and competitors scoring wins on both short tracks and speedways. “This is all about expectations,” said Kligerman, “I just gave a speech in my high school speech class about this. When I head into a race weekend I don’t know anything about the track or the car so I really don’t have any expectations about how I am going to do or how the weekend will turn out. That is how I have been able to do so well.”

The ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series will join the ARCA RE/MAX Series for the same-day double-header at Mansfield. Race day features an action-packed day of activity with ARCA Truck practice from 1:30 to 2:30 followed by RE/MAX Series practice from 2:30 to 4:00. Qualifying for the Trucks is at 4:15 followed by RE/MAX Series qualifying (Menard Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell) at 5:00. The fan-friendly affair also features an on-track autograph session from 6:00 to 6:45. Racing gets underway at 7:00 with the 50-lap ARCA Lincoln Welders 50 Truck Series event followed by the grand finale – the Tim Richmond Memorial ARCA RE/MAX 200 mile race, set for 8:30 PM.

Hahn, who drives the no. 7 Hahn’s Powder Coating-Fox Auto Parts-Howe Racing Chevy Colorado, has 23 series wins in 91 career starts. That’s just one away from Chad Guinn’s all-time series win mark of 24.

“I’ve had my eye on the all-time win mark for some time now,” said Hahn.

Hahn, who already holds the all-time pole record with 17, is also closing in on Guinn’s all-time lap leader stat of 1403 laps led in 39 races. Currently, Hahn has led 1288 laps in 33 races, a difference of 115 laps.

“I haven’t really paid attention to that (laps led category),” said Hahn. “That’d be pretty cool to get there, but in order to get that, I have to win because you can’t win without leading laps.”

And that’s exactly what Hahn did the last time the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series raced at Mansfield in 2005 – he led laps, the last 20 that counted the most en route to the winner’s circle.

“Mansfield’s a tough track; it’s hard on equipment. It’s especially rough on your right-front suspension – especially your right-front brake and hub; so you have to be cautious about that.

“You carry so much speed down the straightaways and then you have really tight corners, so you have to use a lot of brake to slow down or you’ll wash up the track. And since we’ve started running the V-6s, it adds weight so there’s more strain on the front suspension. Last time we raced there though we ran 100 laps, but we’re only running 50 this time, so it shouldn’t be so bad.”

The 50-lap ARCA Lincoln Welders 50 Saturday at Mansfield will serve as the show-opener for the ARCA RE/MAX Series Tim Richmond Memorial 200, which follows at 8:30 PM. The Mansfield Truck race is event number three of a tight nine-race schedule in 2009, one that leaves little-to-no room for error.

“In the past, you had a half-dozen more races to help make up for any DNFs, but this year you have to really be on your game every race. And with these big truck counts we’re getting, if you sell out early in the race, your finishing position could really hurt you in the points.”

Despite a shorter schedule in 2009, the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series is, at this moment and time, the most competitive it’s ever been on record. Currently, there are 27 top-notch trucks entered for Mansfield, an entry list that nearly rivals the RE/MAX Series, which has 33 entries.

“Right now, the competition has never been better in this series. With Danny Jackson coming back and Brian Norton running so well, we’ve all got our hands full.”

Hahn opened the season with a dominating performance at Toledo Speedway where he led all 100 laps. Jackson DNFed in the Toledo opener. In the second stop on the ’09 tour at Flat Rock Speedway, tables were turned when Jackson held off Hahn for 100 laps to win the round two thriller.

“All these guys here are so much fun to race with; I hope it continues. Canada will determine who can go the distance. I know some of the guys are picking and choosing with people struggling as they are. This year’s schedule may not look all that great on paper, but it sure looks good on everyone’s checkbooks.”

The ARCA truckers are twice going to Canada this year with events at Sauble Speedway in Sauble Beach, Ontario on June 27 and at Peterborough Speedway in Peterborough, Ontario on July 25.

“Sometimes fewer races aren’t so bad, especially in these challenging times. It’s not always about quantity. Sometimes it’s more about quality, and this series has a lot of quality on it. I know last year, a lot of guys were concerned about towing all the way out to Iowa, but fortunately a lot of them went and then they saw how nice the place was, and we were treated excellent, so I’m sure everyone’s going back.”

The ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series is headed back to Iowa Speedway on July 11th to run in tandem with the ARCA RE/MAX Series.

Other events on the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series 2009 tour include Winchester Speedway (July 19), Lake Erie Speedway (August 29) and the Salem Speedway season finale on September 19, also in conjunction with the RE/MAX Series.

The ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series will join the ARCA RE/MAX Series for the same-day double-header at Mansfield. Raceday features an action-packed day of activity with ARCA Truck practice from 1:30 to 2:30 followed by RE/MAX Series practice from 2:30 to 4:00.

ARCA Racing Network to Broadcast All Day at Mansfield

The ARCA Racing Network will be covering all the on-track activity for both the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series and the ARCA RE/MAX Series from Mansfield. Listen and watch live streaming audio and video of practice, qualifying and both races at ARCAracing.com inside the ARCA Nation.

The event, named in honor of the late Tim Richmond, marks the first appearance of the 57-year-old ARCA RE/MAX Series tour at Mansfield, but not so for the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series, which will be joining the RE/MAX Series for an ARCA double-header at the Mansfield, Ohio paved oval.

Richmond, who was born and raised in nearby Ashland, Ohio, won the 1981 Daytona ARCA 200 prior to launching his very successful NASCAR career.
