(September 9, 2010) - Fresh tire marks on the door, loud cheers from the grandstands, confetti stuck to the hood, teammates showering you with champagne, family and friends posing for photos holding number ones up, wearing a bright purple Hoosier Collar around the neck – all visions of victory lane on September 13, 2008. That day was rich with memories of Frank Kimmel’s last ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards victory lane experience.

On that faithful day, if someone were to say that it would be almost two years before the nine-time ARCA Racing Series Champion would repeat that experience, many would not believe it. After all, he had been victorious every season since 1995; he was riding a string of three-straight victories and had won eight-consecutive ARCA Racing Series championships. As the green flag drops for the Northwest Ohio Ford Dealers 200 at Toledo Speedway on Sunday, September 12, Kimmel and his No. 44 Ansell/Menards team will be looking to end the winless streak and return to victory lane one day before the two-year anniversary of that win.

Getting to victory lane at Toledo Speedway is nothing new for Frank Kimmel. After earning his first-career ARCA Racing series win at the half-mile track in 1994, he went on to visit victory lane eight more times becoming the most prolific driver in Toledo Speedway history. In addition to his nine wins, Kimmel has earned 22 top-five finishes and three pole awards in 30-career starts at the track.

“Toledo is the site of our very first win, so it is a great place for us to come back to,” said Kimmel. “I’ve always enjoyed Toledo. We normally run well there and get good finishes; we have had a lot of success there with wins too. Although the car that we are bringing is predominantly an intermediate car, I think it will be one of the best cars we have ever brought to Toledo. The body on it is really slick and it’s a very nice racecar. It weighs out well. I have a lot of confidence going into Toledo. I think we will run well and be very competitive.”

The road to victory lane will begin for Kimmel on Saturday, as the ARCA Racing Series takes to the track for practice starting at 12:30 p.m. EST. Sunday’s 100-mile/200-lap Northwest Ohio Dealers at Toledo Speedway is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. EST. Live timing and scoring and audio coverage will be provided by ARCA Nation and the ARCA Racing Network at ARCARacing.com. BAS Racing Network (radio) and BCSN (TV) will also host live race coverage.

Frank Kimmel

Frank Kimmel and the No. 44 Ansel l /Menards Fast Facts

Battle for first: After bad luck plagued the Ansell/Menards team at DuQuoin, Kimmel fell to fourth in the championship standings. He now sits 50 markers behind leaders Tom Hessert and Patrick Sheltra, who are tied for first.

Last Toledo Race: In the spring event at Toledo Speedway, Kimmel overcame late-race damage to score a fourth-place finish. The finish began his climb in the ARCA Racing point standings and was his best finish in the early part of the season.

This Week’s Ford: Crew Chief, Bill Kimmel Jr., has chosen to bring chassis No. 340, “Courtney” to Toledo. This chassis, an intermediate track chassis, has not been used yet this season. With both short track cars wrecked after the dirt races at Springfield and DuQuoin, Kimmel Racing has called on “Courtney” to bring them to victory lane.

Meet Frank Kimmel: Kimmel will be signing autographs on the front stretch of Toledo Speedway on Sunday, September 12 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

Marks, 29, has one previous start at the 1-mile clay oval under his belt and is optimistic to return to the dirt after visiting a similar track at the Illinois State Fairgrounds on August 22.

The rollercoaster ride for Win-Tron Racing last weekend at Chicagoland Speedway began with an early morning engine change before qualifying on race day required a valiant team effort to complete the change before final practice. Just under an hour after they began removing the first Toyota power house, the new motor was fired up by Marks as he set out for the final 30 minutes of practice. Quick work by the team allowed Marks enough practice time to dial in the No. 32 Construct Corps Camry, and later set the fifth fastest time in qualifying. Justin would back up his starting position with a strong run solidly inside the top 10 all evening, coming home in sixth.

Justin Marks

Marks’ last trip to the DuQuoin clay came in 2007, racing for Robby Benton in the No. 65 entry. After qualifying seventh and leading six laps that day, Marks finished the 100 lap event in the same spot he started. Two races ago at Springfield, Justin quickly got back into the groove of dirt racing and is looking to carry momentum from Chicagoland, as well as recent memory of the non-asphalt racing style, to DuQuoin on Monday.

“I’ve always loved dirt racing and it’s a lot of fun for me,” Justin commented. “We learned a lot at Springfield and I think we can really improve from that, and it helps that we were just there so it’s still fresh in our minds. We’re coming into every weekend to lay it all out on the table to win as many races as possible, and this weekend will be no exception.”

Though the team will not bring the same Construct Corps Dodge Charger that ran strong at Springfield before suffering severe damage from a chain reaction accident, a solid replacement will be unloaded Monday morning for duty. That replacement most recently raced in 2008 with driver James Buescher behind the wheel. Buescher steered the No. 32 Charger to a ninth place finish that afternoon, improving from a 12th place starting spot.

A tight battle in the championship point standings ensues this weekend at DuQuoin, with new points leader Craig Goess at the helm. Just 25 points separate the top four drivers, with Justin sitting in the sixth spot 145 markers behind first. Coverage for this weekend’s Southern Illinois 100 presented by Federated Car Care can be found on ARCARacing.com through live timing and scoring, beginning at 10 AM EST on Monday for the ARCA Racing Series practice session. ARCA Nation will also carry live coverage of the 100 mile event, beginning at 2:00 pm EST, which you can also find on ARCARacing.com.

The effort was the fourth consecutive top-10 finish for the Shelby Township, Michigan native in four starts.

“Pocono is a special place for me,” said Brent heading into race weekend. “It’s a track that really has been good to me and while it’s unique it fits my driving style. It’s a track I wish we could race at more often.”

Before Brent could shift his focus towards the 13th race of the season, practice would be the primary agenda. During the session, Brent posted the 15th fastest lap overall turning in a lap of 55.912 seconds or 160.967 miles per hour.

“We’re okay but not where we need to be right now,” said Brent. “Bob has suggested some changes and I really think it will help us. I don’t know if we will get to qualify because the weather is looking iffy, but we’ll prepare like we are going to.”

Brent’s hypotheses proved to be right as Mother Nature rolled into the 2.5-mile oval shortly before 1:00 p.m. local time which drenched the Long Pond oval forcing ARCA officials to cancel Menards Pole by Ansell qualifying. The cancellation would line the team up 14th on the starting grid.

“We’ve been in this position before and we finished in the top-10, so we’ll try it again,” Brent explained Friday afternoon.

Improved weather conditions greeted the teams on Saturday morning with the Justin Allgaier Motorsports (JAM) focusing on a hopeful trip to victory circle.

The 13th event of the season kicked off shortly after 1:00 p.m. with Brent quickly making his march towards the lead pack. Picking off three position on the initial start, Brent’s march would be halted when the yellow flag waived on lap one.

Back to racing, Brent continued to climb the leader board and had moved into the top-10 by the completion of lap 10.

During the event’s first quarter, Brent had marched his way into the sixth position before a long span of green flag racing would force the teams to make pit stop under green flag conditions.

A good pit stop would keep good track position for Brent. The bad news was a yellow flag waived which trapped much of the top-10 cars before one lap off the pace. Vowing never to give up, the JAM found themselves in contention for the Aaron’s Lucky Dog. The team took advantage of the free pass on the very next caution which put them back on the lead lap.

A trip back down pit road before the drop of the green flag would offer an opportunity for fuel.

Over the course of the race’s second-half, Brent would march his way back into the top-10 and even fend off some hungry competitors during a green-white-checkered finish to cross the line seventh, posting his fifth top-10 effort of 2009.

While the finish was impressive all things considered, the loss of third gear late in the race forced the former road racing ace to play catch-up on the restarts which made his charge back towards the front that more exciting.

Robb Brent

“I’m happy, all things considered,” said Brent after the race. “We had a pretty good piece. We worked hard on getting the car to turn. We got trapped a lap down in the pits but luckily was at the right place when the caution flew to be the Lucky Dog. I’m proud of the JAM team and happy to put the Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep Dodge Charger back in the top-10.”

He added, “The loss of third gear really hurt us on the restart. I had to let the traffic go by so we didn’t cause a big wreck. Luckily, we had a good car capable of running them back down, but I just wonder what if we had all the gears there at the end, a top-five finish might have been probable. We’ll look to accomplish that feat in a couple weeks.”

The finish also pushed Brent into the top-10 in the ARCA RE/MAX Series point standings overtaking Eddie Sharp Racing rookie Tim George Jr.

“We’re really psyched about moving into the top-10,” Brent explained. “This was our biggest goal and we knew we had a challenge especially after Daytona. The goal for the rest of the year is to keep ourselves here and maybe move up the ladder even more.”

Washington Township, Michigan based Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep will continue it’s long-time association with Brent and serve as the primary sponsor on Brent’s No. 36 Dodge Charger this weekend. Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep has backed Brent since his entrance into racing at the age of 16.

Prior to joining Justin Allgaier Motorsports, Brent participated in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driving for NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski and Brad Keselowski Racing. In his 28 ARCA starts, Brent has acquired two top-five finishes and 10 top-10 efforts. Brent notched his career best qualifying effort of second at Kentucky Speedway last year. He has led the ARCA RE/MAX Series pack twice for 21 laps in 2008. His best finish in the NCWTS occurred at Nashville Superspeedway in his inaugural truck debut where he finished 21st after qualifying 26th.

This season, Brent has five top-10 finishes in 12 starts with a best finish of seventh at Pocono Raceway in June and August. A 15th place qualifying effort at Michigan International Speedway in June is the team’s season best thus far.

More importantly, the Shelby Township, Michigan native hopes to use the 13th race of the season to move into the top-10 in the ARCA RE/MAX Series championship chase. Last weekend, Brent posted a solid 15th race at Berlin Raceway further improving the driver’s qualifications on some of ARCA’s most unique tracks.

Now, the series returns to Pocono Raceway, a familiar place for Brent who has scored top-10 finishes in all three of his ARCA RE/MAX Series starts at the 2.5-mile oval. In May, Brent qualified 17th but quickly powered to the front and captured a solid seventh place finish.

In 11 races this year, the Justin Allgaier Motorsports (JAM) the team has posted four top-10 finishes but the team heads back to the Long Pond racetrack looking for their first top-five finish of the season.

Robb Brent

“Pocono Raceway has been real good to me and I’m heading back with the same mentality that we can produce another strong run for the No. 36 Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep Dodge Charger,” said Brent, who is negotiating a full ARCA schedule in-between earning a College degree. “We’ve been able to nail down top-10 finishes, now it’s time to start delivering top-five runs. We’re definitely capable of it; we just need a little luck around the way to help us make it happen.”

When asked why Pocono Raceway has been so good to the 22-year old driver, he answered with, “it’s a track that definitely fits my driving style for sure. Pocono is a momentum track for sure and keeping that momentum going every lap helps you move through the field. I finished in the top-10 in all three races; we’ll look to make it four for four Saturday afternoon.”

Brent was also quick to comment on the team’s number one goal of finishing inside the top-10 in the championship chase. “We’re making progress and we knocked off some points last weekend at Berlin. You don’t want to wish misfortune on anyone but as a team we cannot worry about, we just need to keep doing our job and our goal should be conquered without a problem.”

His best finish in the NCWTS occurred at Nashville Superspeedway in his inaugural truck debut where he finished 21st after qualifying 26th.

This season, Brent has four top-10 finishes in 11 starts with a best finish of seventh at Pocono Raceway earlier in June. A 15th place qualifying effort at Michigan International Speedway in June is the team’s season best thus far.

After struggling in practice and qualifying, Sheltra in the No. 60 Buffalo Wings & Rings Dodge Charger utilized the Click It Or Ticket. Buckle-Up Kentucky 150 to adjust his automobile and powered his way from inside the top-15 to a solid ninth finish in the final 20 laps to record his fourth top-10 finish at Kentucky Speedway in six starts.

Buffalo Wings & Rings Product Spotlight; Boneless Wings: Each week, Sheltra Motorsports will shine the spotlight on one of Buffalo Wings & Rings menu items. This week it’s the Buffalo Wings & Rings Boneless Wings. The biggest and baddest. Buffalo Wings & Rings starts with fresh chicken, never frozen. Their boneless wings are then hand breaded and cooked to perfection. Top it off with one of their nine signature sauce flavors, then select how much heat you want from one of their five temperature levels. With over 45 flavor and heat combinations available, there are plenty of options to keep you coming back!

A Visit To The Great Lakes State: For the third time in his ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) career, Patrick Sheltra will compete at Berlin Raceway. In his inaugural debut Sheltra stormed to a then-career best fourth place finish. The effort was Sheltra’s first career top-five finish in ARCA RE/MAX Series competition. Last year, Sheltra wasn’t as fortunate. After qualifying eighth, Sheltra was heading towards the lead with a rare parts failure resulted in a overheating issue that led to a disappointing 26th place finish.

From The Water To The Track; Glad To Have You Back: Sheltra Motorsports welcomes Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant who will serve as an associate marketing partner on the team’s No. 60 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS for Saturday night’s thriller at Berlin Raceway. Sitting on the shores of Lake Macatawa and being downtown Holland’s only waterfront restaurant, Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant offers family friendly casual dining, waterfront views, indoor and outdoor dining, banquet facilities, catering services and a convenient full menu takeout.

Before turning his attention towards the race on Saturday, Sheltra will sign autographs at Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant on Friday, July 24th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant is located at 216 VanRaalte Avenue in Holland, Michigan. For information, please call 616.396.0600.

Welcoming The Coach To Sheltra Motorsports: This week Sheltra Motorsports announced NASCAR veteran Ted Musgrave has joined the veteran ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) team as a driver coach for Indiantown, Florida native Patrick Sheltra beginning with Saturday night’s Wolverine Power Systems 200 presented by Generac at Berlin (Mi.) Raceway. Musgrave, a native of Franklin, Wisconsin has over 18 years of experience combined between the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Watcha Haulin?: Crew Chief John Hayden has elected to use Sheltra Motorsports Chassis No. 4 this weekend at Berlin Raceway. This is the same piece the team raced to a fourth place finish at Berlin 2007. The former Robert Yates Racing (RYR) piece has three top-10 finishes with two straight top-10 finishes on the dirt two years ago. The Ford Fusion turned Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS has finished inside the top-20 in all but one of its seven previous events. Chassis number 5 will serve as the team’s back-up automobile. That former Joe Gibbs Racing entry is the same automobile that Sheltra rocketed to his first victory at Salem Speedway in April.

Points Check: After round 11 on the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule, Patrick Sheltra sits eighth in the championship standings accumulating 2220 points. Just 170 points keeps Sheltra from the fourth position. Sheltra is 635 markers from the top-spot. Car owner Grace Sheltra sits 10th in the car owner standings.

Keeping The Streak Alive: For 34 consecutive races, Sheltra Motorsports has fielded a car for Patrick Sheltra that run in the top-10 (at one point or another) for all events reverting back to the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX 250 at Talladega Superspeedway. The team added their 34th race at Kentucky Speedway by running as high as fourth and by finishing ninth. During this period, the team has amassed one win, nine top-fives and 19 top-10 finishes. The team’s best qualifying effort occurred at Rockingham Speedway in April where Sheltra awarded himself with a career best run of third. The team has led five races at Rockingham Speedway (2009), Salem Speedway (2009) Kansas Speedway (2008), Cayuga Motor Speedway (2008), and Talladega Superspeedway (2008), for a total of 109 laps.

You Can Be Apart Of The Ultimate Hunting Experience: Sheltra Motorsports wants to give a race fan an ultimate opportunity to join Patrick Sheltra or Sheltra Motorsports dirt driver Shannon Babb a chance at a paramount moment to hunt with either driver at Patrick Sheltra’s hunting ranch in Dryden, Texas. The best part, all expenses paid! Race fans will have the entire ARCA season to enter the contest with the winner being announced in the ARCA RE/MAX Series finale at Rockingham Speedway in October. Visit HuntingExtravangza.com for more details.

This Is The People’s Car: In an effort to bring race fans closer to the Sheltra Motorsports team, the team is full throttle with their Peoples Car promotion. Race fans will have the opportunity to have their name plastered on the No. 60 for the rest of the ARCA RE/MAX Series season. In addition, each time a fan joins the People’s Car their name will be tossed into a drawing for an-all expensed paid trip (minus lodging expenses) to the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series season finale at Rockingham Speedway. The lucky fan will be an honorary member of the Sheltra Motorsports team plus enjoy a few little surprises the team has spiced up for the lucky winner. Browse PatrickSheltra.com or ThePeoplesCars.com for all the details.

On Kentucky Speedway: “After the past couple races last Saturday night felt like a win. Obviously, we’ve experienced victory lane so we know what it really feels like but getting back into the top-10 was a big relief. Kentucky Speedway has been good to me and the finish showed it again.”

On Berlin Raceway: “Berlin Raceway is one of my favorite short tracks. It’s a unique and different place but it’s a track I enjoy competing at. I seriously want to get back in the top-five on Saturday night and I would not be surprised at all if we landed back in victory lane.”

On The Return Of Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant: “We’re super excited to have Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant back with our team this weekend at Berlin Raceway. They have been a great supporter of Sheltra Motorsports. Hopefully we can give them a great run because we didn’t give them the greatest finish last year.”

On Ted Musgrave Joining Sheltra Motorsports: “I think this is one of the biggest steps we’ve ever made at Sheltra Motorsports. Ted is no doubt qualified to be a driver coach. His credentials speak for themselves. He’s been around racing a long time and I think he can come to the race track and really help me get into a rhythm. He’s been to Berlin Raceway before, so that’s a big plus. Man, I can’t wait.”

On Gaining Ground In The Point Standings: “We knew that a good finish would help us in the points department. The pack from fourth to 10th is really tight and I’m sure it will remain tight the rest of the year. We just have to keep digging and we’ll be alright come year’s end.”

Sheltra Motorsports, Berlin Raceway: Grace Sheltra, owner of the
No. 60 Buffalo Wings & Rings-Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS:

On Kentucky Speedway: “I’m proud of the Sheltra Motorsports team. They did a great job. We overcame adversity and Patrick drove his butt off the last 20 laps of the race. I think the monkey is off our back and we can get used to finishing back in the top-10.”

On Berlin Raceway: “It’s another short track race but Patrick is always upbeat about going to Berlin. We had a great run there in 2007 and a frustrating run there last year. If history repeats itself, Saturday night will be another great night. A lot of eyes will be on us this weekend with our announcement this week, so I’m looking forward to seeing how the team performs.”

On The Addition Of Ted Musgrave: “To have someone of Ted Musgrave’s caliber join our ARCA family is huge. We’ve received so many calls and emails since the announcement it really backs up our decision to bring Ted to the track as Patrick’s driving coach. I’m looking forward to meeting him this weekend.”

The Shelby Township, Michigan native returned to Kentucky Speedway looking to improve on a solid top-10 performance in May. The Sparta, Kentucky track has been one of Brent’s strongest tracks during his tenure in ARCA RE/MAX Series competition.

The Justin Allgaier Motorsports (JAM) team led by crew chief Bob Blount participated in the open-test at Kentucky Speedway a few weeks ago and the rookie bunch had hoped to improve on the team’s performance from the test.

The ARS teams would be granted two practice sessions on Friday evening hoping to dial in their machines for round 11 of the year. During the two practices, Brent and the team struggled to find grip on the No. 36 Dodge Charger.

In the first practice, Brent produced the 21st fastest lap. In happy hour, he picked up the pace a little bit but slipped back to the 22nd position.

“We were hoping to unload and be a lot better than what we are,” said Brent. “We have been adjusting the setup on the car but nothing seems to be doing the trick. We’re going to throw a few more adjustments at the car for qualifying and hope it pays off, especially for the race.”

In time trials, Brent posted his fastest lap of the weekend to a 31.602 seconds or 170.875 miles per hour which gridded the team 20th for the event.

“We’re a little better but not where we want or need to be,” explained Brent following qualifying. “Tonight’s race is relatively short so it’s going to take a lot of work on us all to have a good run.”

From the drop of the green flag, Brent remained locked in the top-16 battling a loose No. 36 Dodge Charger. Unable to find the grip or connection with Kentucky Speedway; Brent remained on the lead lap through the series first caution flags but opted for a trip to pit road approaching lap 30 for tires, fuel and a chassis adjustment to revert the looseness of Brent’s machine.

On the restart, Brent tried to march towards the mid-pack with eyes set on the top-10, but while the car’s conditions improved, the car began to revert back to the previous way which set the team in motion towards heading out of the top-20.

Determined not to give up, Brent kept his car on the lead lap and in the top-20 until the team’s final round of pit stops occurred inside the event’s final 35 laps.

The stops were a great improvement from the team’s first tango with Kentucky Speedway and with Brent back on the track and a shootout ahead; the team was confident that Brent could battle back towards the front on the track. He didn’t disappoint.

During the course of the event’s 30 laps, Brent’s lap times improved greatly with the last series of adjustments which included a wedge adjustment allowed the car to hook up to the 1.5-mile oval and maneuver through the field.

Battling to inside the top-15, Brent needed a caution to catch-up to his competitors. With that opportunity never taking place, Brent had to dig deep ahead of him and was able to click off three positions before the checkered flag waived with the 22-year old crossing the start-finish line in the 12th position.

The effort was Brent’s seventh top-12 finish in 10 races.

Robb Brent

“We’re not real happy with the finish but we’ll take it,” sounded Brent after the event. “Plain and simple, we struggled with the handling on our Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep Dodge Charger. We finally were able to get the car running good at the end of the race but by then it was really too late. I’m proud of the guys for never giving up. The run is what it is. We’ll try and learn from it and move ahead to next weekend.”

Brent’s run also closed the gap from 10th place competitor Tim George Jr in the ARCA RE/MAX Series championship chase. Brent leaves Kentucky still occupying the 11th position in the point standings.

In his 27 ARCA starts, Brent has acquired two top-five finishes and nine top-10 efforts.

This season, Brent has four top-10 finishes in 10 starts with a best finish of seventh at Pocono Raceway earlier in June. A 15th place qualifying effort at Michigan International Speedway in June is the team’s season best thus far.

Next up for the ARCA RE/MAX Series is a trip to Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan for the running of the Wolverine Power Systems 200 presented by Generac set for next Saturday, July 25. Brent will make his inaugural debut at Berlin. The team is hoping to improve on their season best ninth place short track performance at Toledo Speedway in May.

Click It Or Ticket. Drive Smart! Buckle-Up Kentucky 150,

Kentucky Speedway, Sparta, Kentucky

Race Information: Event: Click It Or Ticket. Drive Smart! Buckle-Up Kentucky 150, Saturday, July 18 at 9:45 p.m. Local Time Track: Kentucky Speedway Qualifying: Saturday, July 18 at 5:00 p.m. Local Time Track Length: 1.5-mile paved oval.

Iowa Speedway Recap: Patrick Sheltra and the Sheltra Motorsports team overcame adversity last Saturday night that consisted of an innocent spin and a blown tire and still posted a 14th place finish in the Prairie Meadows 200. The finish was a solid rebound from two sour performances at Michigan International Speedway and Mansfield Motorsports Park respectively.

Returning To The Bluegrass Oval: For the sixth time in his ARCA RE/MAX Series, Patrick Sheltra will take the green flag at Kentucky Speedway Saturday night. In five prior efforts at Kentucky, Sheltra has maneuvered a top-10 finish three times including a personal best of sixth in the most recent ARS event at Kentucky in May. Ironically, Kentucky Speedway is the site of Sheltra’s first career top-10 finish in 2007.

Texas Get-A-Way: Following the ARCA RE/MAX Series event at Iowa Speedway, Patrick Sheltra boarded a plane and headed to Dryden, Texas for a four day getaway to his family’s ranch in a city that hosts just 11 people, 12 including Sheltra. Mr. Showtime spent his time in the Lone Star state checking and working around his property and preparing for his family’s arrival for hunting season this fall.

Plenty Of Guests; No Pressure: With the Kentucky Speedway being the closest event to Sheltra’s primary marketing partner Buffalo Wings & Rings, it’s no surprise that Sheltra will have plenty of fan support for Saturday night’s race. Before the 11th race of the season takes the green flag, Sheltra Motorsports is expecting nearly 40 guests to tour the garage area and inspect the No. 60 Buffalo Wings & Rings Dodge Charger for themselves.

Pitch-Hint: Bowling Green, Kentucky native Doug Kriser will assist Sheltra Motorsports for the second consecutive weekend as jackman. Matt Angel, the team’s primary jackman continues to recover from a knee procedure. Kriser performed with the Sheltra Motorsports last weekend at Iowa Speedway and most recently served the ARCA RE/MAX Series community with Roush Fenway Racing and driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr in 2008.

Halfway Mark: Saturday’s Click It Or Ticket. Drive Smart! Buckle-Up Kentucky 150 officially kicks off the second half of the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series season. During the team’s first half, they have notched one win, three top-fives and four top-10s including a career best qualifying run of third at Rockingham Speedway in April.

This is the same piece the team raced to a sixth place finish at Kentucky Speedway in May. This car has also had track time at Michigan International Speedway, Nashville Superspeedway and Chicagoland Speedway last season. The former Penske Racing ride has three top-10 finishes including a best of sixth at Michigan (2008) and Kentucky (2009) in four starts. It will be run for just the fifth time in Sheltra’s career. Chassis number 16 will serve as the team’s back-up automobile. That former Richard Childress Racing entry is a new addition to the team’s fleet. The Whitesville, Kentucky based team tested this Dodge Charger at Michigan International Speedway in May. It has yet to see any ARCA race competition.

Points Check: After round 10 on the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule, Patrick Sheltra sits eighth in the championship standings accumulating 2035 points. Just 205 points keeps Sheltra from the fourth position. Sheltra is 575 markers from the top-spot. Car owner Grace Sheltra sits 10th in the car owner standings.

Keeping The Streak Alive: For 33 consecutive races, Sheltra Motorsports has fielded a car for Patrick Sheltra that run in the top-10 (at one point or another) for all events reverting back to the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX 250 at Talladega Superspeedway. The team added their 33rd race at Iowa Speedway despite finishing 14th. During this period, the team has amassed one win, seven top-fives and 13 top-10 finishes.

On Iowa Speedway: “After all that occurred, we have to be somewhat satisfied with a top-15 finish. We wished we could have walked away with a top-10, but we’ll take the finish in stride and move forward to Kentucky this weekend.”

On Kentucky Speedway: “Kentucky Speedway is a cool place and I’m looking forward to getting back on the track. We had a sixth place run in May and I think we have a package that can win this weekend. For the most part, the track has been good to us and I hope we can keep it that on Saturday night.”

On His Trip To Dryden, Texas: “It was hot down there. We’ve been trying to get down there for a while and we finally made time after the Iowa race. It’s peaceful down there for sure. I’m glad to get out of there to go back racing but I’m looking forward to spending some time down there in the fall.”

On All The Guests This Weekend: “The more the merrier. It’s a big weekend for us especially with the closeness of the track to Buffalo Wings & Rings headquarters. We had a solid top-10 finish with all the guests we had in May. I think the number has doubled this weekend, so that only means we’re going to find ourselves in victory lane when the checkered flag flies Saturday night.”

On The First Half Of The Season: “We had our ups and downs but there’s definitely room for improvement. We’re still building fast cars and running in the top-10, so that’s good. We just need to lead some races and get back in victory lane in the second half. It’s all or nothing from here on out. When Rockingham rolls around, I think you’ll find this team sitting in the top-five in the point standings.”

Sheltra Motorsports, Kentucky Speedway: Grace Sheltra, owner of the
No. 60 Buffalo Wings & Rings Dodge Charger:

On Iowa Speedway: “It was an eventful night but the team bounced back and got a respectable finish. We’re hoping that the run is the start of an upswing change of luck for the Sheltra Motorsports team.”

On Kentucky Speedway: “The race in May was a good run for us but we’re going to Kentucky Speedway this weekend looking for a top-five run if not a win. We’re bringing a great car and we should have one of the strongest engines in the field, so we’re hoping to pull into victory lane for the first time on a speedway. We’ll have a huge cheering section on Saturday night, so that’s a huge confidence booster for the team.”

On The First Half Of The Season: “I’m proud of the Sheltra Motorsports team. Sure we had some bad finishes but we also had some strong finishes too. We made some mistakes but we’ve learned from them. I think you’ll see a much stronger team in the second half and you’ll find the No. 60 Buffalo Wings & Rings Dodge Charger a familiar car in the top-five in the last 10 races.”

The time has arrived and Brent is aiming to nail his first top-five finish of the season in Saturday night’s Click It Or Ticket. Drive Smart! Buckle-Up Kentucky 150.

Brent in the No. 36 for Justin Allgaier Motorsports entry for Mike Allgaier returns to the Bluegrass state on the heels of an eighth place finish in ARCA’s first trip to the 1.5-mile oval in May. The effort was the team’s second top-10 finish of the year and the first of three consecutive top-10 runs.

Fresh off a solid 11th place finish at Iowa Speedway last Saturday night, Brent returns to the Bluegrass state aiming for his fifth top-10 finish of the year and third top-10 run at the newly formed SMI speedplant.

“I can’t wait to get back to Kentucky,” said Brent, who sits 11th in the ARCA RE/MAX Series standings entering the race this weekend. “I’ve had success at Kentucky in the past and this team is capable of winning the race on Saturday night, we just need a couple of factors to play into our hands to make it a reality.”

When asked why Brent enjoys the Sparta, Kentucky track so much, he answered with, “I’m just a fan of the mile-and-a-half tracks. For the most part Kentucky Speedway has been kind to me and as a driver you enjoy going back to a track that has been good to you in the past. I’ve finished eighth there for two consecutives races and that’s okay but I really want our first top-five on Saturday night.”

Brent credits the uplifting performance of the JAM team to Bob Blount, whose son Chad Blount is a two-time champion at Kentucky Speedway winning races back in 2002 and 2005.

Robb Brent

“Bob knows how to setup a racecar for Kentucky and it showed in May,” added Brent, who pilots the No. 36 Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep Dodge Charger. “We worked hard on making our car stick to the track and I think what we learned in May we can apply this weekend and move up the ladder. Bob’s not only is my crew chief but he’s my mentor too.”

With his concrete performance last weekend at Iowa Speedway, Brent gained ground on his competition in the top-10 in the championship chase and now sits just 110 points from moving into the 10th position. “We’re gaining ground but the top-10 is filled with great teams and great drivers,” remarked Brent. “We just have to stay focused on our team and our finishes and sooner or later, we’ll break that barrier and move into the top-10.”

Kentucky Speedway officially gives the green-flag to the second half of the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule and Brent indicates that he still has some goals he would like to complete.

“The plate is full for the second half,” offered Brent. “We’ve pointed our weakness and our strong points from the first half and I think the adjustments we are making will play into our favor. Off the top, qualifying better, leading laps and contending to win are our three biggest projects for the rest of the year.”

In his 26 ARCA starts, Brent has acquired two top-five finishes and nine top-10 efforts.

This season, Brent has four top-10 finishes in nine starts with a best finish of seventh at Pocono Raceway earlier in June. A 15th place qualifying effort at Michigan International Speedway in June is the team’s season best thus far.

The Click It Or Ticket. Drive Smart! Buckle-Up Kentucky 150 (100 laps / 150 miles) is the 11th of 21 events on the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. An outstanding performance is exactly what he delivered as he earned his career first Menards Pole Award Presented by Ansell, and captured his second consecutive podium finish in Saturday’s tenth ARCA RE/MAX race this season, finishing third.

Bringing back the same No. 16 Darrell Gwynn Foundation-Tempest Cycles Chevrolet the team practiced with during the series’ open test, Coulter and his Coulter Motorsports team, led by veteran NASCAR crew chief Harold Holly, had high hopes for the Prairie Meadows 200.

Coulter, who was second quickest during the hour and a half practice session Friday afternoon, was 15th in line out of 37 cars that were there to qualify Saturday. Following his qualifying lap, he waited patiently with his team while the remaining ARCA RE/MAX Series competitors took their turns around the Rusty Wallace-designed short track. Coulter earned his career first Menards Pole Award Presented by Ansell on Saturday evening, circling the .875-mile short track in 23.45 seconds for a speed of 134.328 mph. The pole came just one week after Coulter posted his career best ARCA RE/MAX Series race finish of second at Mansfield Motorsports.

“I was pretty nervous throughout that entire qualifying session,” said Coulter. “Brian Ickler was fast in practice and he was the last car to go out. I knew that if anyone was going to beat our time it was going to be either him or Justin Lofton. I’m happy I got my first pole here because this is a great racetrack. This is my third time here, but my first time racing at this track with the ARCA RE/MAX Series,” Coulter added.

At the start of the 200 lap event, Coulter outran the No. 77 of Parker Kligerman to lead the first 35 laps before scheduled pit stops. As the field went back to green flag racing on lap 38, Coulter found himself in the seventh position. Nonetheless, the 19-year-old wasted no time as he broke back into the top-five the very next lap.

Three additional cautions would take place before crew chief Harold Holly would have to make a beneficial decision to pit once more while under caution on lap 84 for fuel. Coulter returned to racing action on lap 87 in 11th position.

Coulter broke back into top-five racing action by passing the No. 31 of Austin Dillon on lap 116. Final pit stops came on lap 136 under caution; Coulter entered the pits in third and the hard-working crew members were able to put the No. 16 Chevrolet back on top of the leader board, beating the No. 32 of Matt Merrell and No. 77 of Kligerman off pit road.

On the restart, Coulter was able to pull away from Kligerman before his No. 16 Darrell Gwynn Foundation-Tempest Cycles Chevrolet started getting tight from the center off. Kligerman then passed Coulter the following lap, with 50 laps remaining.

As Coulter fought with the handling of his No. 16 Chevy Monte Carlo, the No. 31 of Dillon slipped by on lap 172. The caution flag would wave one final time on lap 187, Coulter had an excellent restart, but couldn’t quite get to Dillon or Kligerman in the closing laps. He took the checkered flag in third position.

“On the last pit stop we used our last set of tires and the car just tightened up a little bit,” said Coulter. “We tested here and we were fastest at the test. We were really fast in practice and we qualified on the pole, so needless to say this is one of my favorite racetracks that I’ve run on so far this year.”

Coulter led a total of 47 laps in the Prairie Meadows 200. His third place finish added to his top-five finishing streak, adding up to four consecutive top-fives and six top-ten finishes in ten ARCA RE/MAX Series events.

The next event for the ARCA RE/MAX Series will be the Click It or Ticket Buckle-Up Kentucky 150 Saturday night, July 18 in conjunction with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

The 19-year-old has previously competed at the .875-mile D-shaped oval, most recently in 2008, recording a fourth place finish.

Coulter, who was fastest in the recent Iowa Speedway test, is on a roll lately coming off three consecutive top-five finishes at Pocono Raceway, Michigan and Mansfield Motorsports Park, where he finished a career-best second.

The 19-year-old driver circled the .875-mile short track in 23.138 seconds, an average speed of 136.140 mph.

“It’s the same situation as Mansfield. This will be my third time here at Iowa, so I could spend more time on how the car works on the track rather than having to spend all my time learning the track, or both,” Coulter said.

“I’m really looking forward to going back to Iowa. I’m returning to familiar tracks, and my past experience at the track should definitely pay off,” Coulter added.

“Iowa Speedway is a fun racetrack to compete on. The layout is awesome and, with the level of competition in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, it will definitely make for a great race for sure,” Coulter stated on returning to the .875-mile D-shaped oval.

The first on-track activity for the ARCA RE/MAX Series is a practice session on Friday, July 10 from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. Following the hour and a half practice session is an autograph session at Prairie Meadows Racetrack/Casino from 7-8 p.m. on Friday, July 10 in support of the Prairie Meadows 200 at Iowa Speedway. Prairie Meadows Racetrack/Casino is located in Altoona, Iowa, right off of I-80 at exit 142.

The Prairie Meadows 200 at Iowa Speedway is scheduled to go off Saturday, July 11 at 8:00 p.m. local time. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell precedes the race at 4:00 PM. (June 22, 2009) — Steve Arpin left Saturday night’s ARCA RE/MAX Series race at Mansfield Motorsports Park with a smile on his face and added enthusiasm for the team with a strong fifth place finish in the ‘Tim Richmond Memorial’ event. The top-five run moved the young driver of the Taylor Motorsports / Lo-N-Bro Enterprises Toyota Camry into seventh place in the season-long championship chase on the ARCA RE/MAX tour. Arpin would lead fourteen laps of the event putting the Eddie Sharp Racing entry at the front of the field from lap 70 through 83 en route to the best performance of the season for the team.

‘We had a good car right off the truck today,’ smiled Arpin. ‘ Jefferson (Hodges, crew chief) and the guys just had to do some fine tuning on our Lo-N-Bro Toyota through the night and they made all the right calls. It was a good night for us overall.’

Arpin used his tenacious driving style along with the prior experience that his crew chief, Jefferson Hodges has of the track in central Ohio to produce a solid result. The team now moves their focus to the upcoming July 11th event at Iowa Speedway seeking to move up in the championship standings and set their sights on Arpin’s first career ARCA win.

‘We’re happy with our first top five, but I do feel we had an easy top-three car,’ Arpin noted on the finish in the Tim Richmond Memorial race. ‘We had some issues with some welds breaking on the front of the chassis and I pushed the car a little too hard a little too soon there at the end,’ added the talented driver. ‘We are just getting better each week. I’m looking forward to carrying this momentum into the Iowa test and backing it up at the race. The guys have put together a pretty slick little hot rod for up there!’

Mark your calendar for Steve Arpin’s next run for the winner’s circle in the ‘Prairie Meadows 200’ at Iowa Speedway on July 11th at 8:00 p.m. (Central). The ARCA Racing Network will be covering all the on-track activity for the ARCA RE/MAX Series from Newton, Iowa.

BROOKYLN, Michigan (June 15, 2009) – - In front of his hometown fans and friends, Robb Brent recorded a hard fought 11th place finish at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) in Friday’s Racing for Wildlife 200. The effort was Brent’s fifth top-11 finish of the season.

The Shelby Township, Michigan native entered his third start at the Irish Hills, Michigan track on the wave of some strong momentum that has catapulted the former road racing ace in the ARCA RE/MAX Series driver point standings leaning into the eighth race of the season.

While many teams elected to participate in the open-test session at MIS the Justin Allgaier Motorsports (JAM) team decided to concentrate their efforts on the event which would prove to be one of the most intense races thus far.

Once again, Mother Nature would plague the cars and stars of the ARCA Series as lingering showers soaked the two-mile oval on Thursday forcing the sanctioning body to call off qualifying and reschedule practice to a short 50-minute session on Friday morning.

With the weather much better on Friday, Brent and his JAM team were focused on dialing in their No. 36 Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep Dodge Charger. During the session, Brent posted the 23rd fastest time overall with a time of 40.451 seconds at 177.993 miles per hour. “We’re working on improving the car,” said Brent. “It’s loose but we’re putting our heads together to make the car more competitive. We could have really have used the long practice schedule from yesterday but it is what it is. We’ll keep digging, make the changes and focus on the race.”

From the drop of the green flag, Brent quietly began maneuvering his way through the field. An early caution would allow Brent to gather his thoughts before keying his radio and explaining to his team and crew chief Bob Blount that the car was still loose but drivable.

The team acknowledged the driver’s concern and offered a potential fix at the first pit stop. A quick change of four tires, fuel and a chassis adjustment to tighten up Brent’s automobile was the call from atop. The car still needed some work and the leaders would overtake the young-gun during the next green flag run knocking the JAM team from the lead lap.

A few laps later the caution flag would waive putting the team in line for the lucky dog. Brent would regain his lead lap status thanks to another yellow flag inside the final 30 circuits of the 100-lap race.

With an improved handling Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep machine, Brent began his mission towards the top-10 and had marched himself into the eighth position when the yellow flag would fly once again setting up for a mad dash towards the finish.

The team opted to not make a pit stop which kept the team on the track in the top-10. The call would prove to go against the team as Brent was unable to hold off his competition on fresher tires. Still, Brent wasn’t going down without a fight and crossed the start finish line 11th, his fifth top-15 finish of the season. The effort was also the worst run since an engine failure at Talladega Superspeedway in April.

We started out too loose but got the car more drivable and we began making our charge. We didn’t think tires would be a big factor at the end and it bit us. We finished 11th, still not a bad finish. We’ll move on to Mansfield next weekend and hope to return to the top-10.”

Brent added, “I want to thank all of my friends, fans, family and everyone from Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep for attending the race. I appreciate their support and I’m planning on getting a win real soon.”

The 11th place run was the second consecutive finish for Brent at Michigan International Speedway. In last year’s ARCA race at Michigan, Brent started fifth and finished 11th in the No. 00 Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep for Brad Keselowski Racing.

Prior to joining Justin Allgaier Motorsports, Brent participated in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driving for NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski and Brad Keselowski Racing. In his 24 ARCA starts, Brent has acquired two top-five finishes and nine top-10 efforts.
