Margate, FL native Brian Blum is ready to kick off the 2010 Sunoco National Tour season in his home state at New Smyrna Speedway. The opening event of the 2010 season marks the beginning of a new era in the ASA Late Model Series.
Title sponsorship from Sunoco and brand new body styles for the premier late model series in America have fans and competitors alike buzzing. After gaining valuable experience at some of the most recognizable tracks in the sport, like Rockingham Speedway and Gateway Int’l Raceway, Blum and the #31 Blum Motorsports team are prepared to return to short tracks.
After putting himself in position to score his first ASALMS win on numerous occasions in 2009, Blum is optimistic about his chances to visit victory lane in one the six events held on tracks less than a mile in 2010. Blum is hoping that his past experience at New Smyrna, most recently in January 2009, will propel him to the first Sunoco National Tour win in series history.

(On the new style Sunoco National Tour cars): “They’re definitely a change from the style late models we’re used to running. I think our new Camero body looks great. It’ll be interesting to see how they react at the bigger tracks. It’s something that will be interesting for the drivers to adapt to throughout the year. I think it’s great for the series to have an identity unique to the Sunoco National Series.”
