Berwick, PA (August 10, 2011)- Universe Racing and multi platinum recording artists, FireHouse, are proud to announce a charity eBay auction (Item # 120762292295) for autographed “race used” racecar sheet metal from Universe Racing driver, Steve Fox in the ARCA Racing Series, presented by Menards. However, this isn’t just sheet metal, as the cause that it supports is huge for both the race team and also for the band, FireHouse.
The auction itself is simple, and all of the proceeds will be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Founded by the late Alexandria “Alex” Scott, who passed away from cancer at the age of 8, the charity was designed to help find a cure for children who suffer from cancer.
Up for action isn’t just a piece of racecar sheet metal, as it is the entire hood of the Universe Racing Dodge Charger in which Fox competed with last season in the ARCA Racing Series. The entire hood is wrapped with a photo of FireHouse band members, CJ Snare, Bill Leverty, Michael Foster and Allen McKenzie. The hood was recently autographed by the band at a concert in Clearfield, PA, along with race team members, including Fox.
The piece even has a little character, as it received minor damage from a crash in the closing laps during its last ride at Pocono International raceway in August of last season.
Rare and interesting, the hood will look great hanging from the wall or ceiling in any type of sports or music related establishment, garage or even a FireHouse or Universe Racing fans living room. The best part is that the cause that the auction supports will be the benefactor.
“We teamed up with Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the beginning of last season”, noted Fox. “Alex herself must have been truly awesome to start what she did, not only at such a young age, but also while being sick with cancer”, he noted.
He continued, “If this auction helps even one child with this horrible disease, I know that I’d be very happy and I’m sure that the guys from FireHouse feel the same way. The whole deal is pretty neat, but knowing that it’s going to a such a great cause makes it truly rewarding”.
The members of FireHouse have the same feeling as Fox does in regards to the charity auction and it showed through their fans, both at the concert in Clearfield, PA and also on their Facebook page.
The auction has begun and it will run for ten days. There aren’t any hidden fees, such as handling or even shipping. Matter of fact, Fox is going to pay for the shipping of the hood to any address in the continental U.S. Unfortunately, due to the size, the hood cannot be shipped outside of the continental U.S. The eBay item number is 120762292295.
