The race name remains the Sam’s Town 300, which has been the name since the 1998 event. Only Food City has been on Bristol’s fall Nationwide Series race longer.

Sam’s Town joined with Las Vegas Motor Speedway following the inaugural NASCAR Nationwide Series event in 1997. Since that time, crowds have increased steadily and the event has often drawn a crowd in excess of 100,000 fans.
