McClure Hopes to Conquer “Lady in Black” and Gain Points:
- Eric McClure heads to Darlington holding the final guaranteed position in NASCAR Owner Standings after a string of disappointing finishes.
- The 32-year-old driver will be competing in his 147th NASCAR Nationwide Series race and his fifth at the speedway.
In four Nationwide Series starts at the South Carolina speedway, McClure has completed 75.7% of the laps and has a best finish of 27th (2010).
- McClure will be piloting chassis No. 7 this weekend. It was last run at Texas Motor Speedway, where the team finished in the 31st position following a mechanical failure
Richmond Review:
- The Virginia driver started the Bubba Burger 250 in the 37th position and finished in the 32nd position which relegated the team to 30th in NASCAR Owner Standings.
Eric McClure’s Pre-Race quotes:
“Darlington, although a fun place, hasn’t been one of my better tracks, so I hate to be coming here with only a six point advantage over the first car not locked in the top 30 in points. I ran better in last year’s event than the finish showed, so hopefully we can have a good run this weekend and gain some points back.”
