Last race review: Justin Lofton had a strong run from start to finish the last time out in Iowa. After practicing his CollegeComplete.com Toyota in the second position, he laid down a stellar qualifying lap, giving him the ninth starting spot for the 200-lap race. After battling the intense heat and taking on nothing more than air pressure adjustments throughout the night, Lofton muscled his Toyota to the 12th position at the drop of the checkered flag.
Lucky number 6: This Friday when Lofton hits the track it will be a blast from the past, to some extent. Lofton and team owner Eddie Sharp opted shortly after their reunion to return to the No. 6, which they ran in 2009 en route to the ARCA Racing Series championship. After two weeks donning the No. 46 at ESR, Lofton scored a 15th and 12th place finishes.
Lofton at Nashville: This Friday’s event marks Lofton’s fourth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start on the 1.33-mile track under. During the tour’s first stop to Nashville in April Lofton started the event 14th and finished 16th. Last season, he started both truck races within the top-10 and scored a best finish of ninth. His highest finish at Nashville fell in 2008 while driving for ESR within ARCA competition, when he finished fifth.
Truck information: Lofton will race chassis ESR008 this weekend in Nashville. The truck was last raced by Lofton two weeks ago at Kentucky, scoring a 15th place finish. To date, that is the truck’s highest finish this season.
