Jimmie Johnson, with a qualifying lap speed of 97.598 mph, captured the 2012 NSCS TUMS Fast Relief 500 Coors Light Pole Award at Martinsville Speedway. This was Johnson's third series pole of the 2012 season, his twenty-eighth series career pole and his second series pole at Martinsville Speedway.
