Last week at Kansas Speedway, Team BCR Racing experienced some misfortune after driver Charles Evans Jr. was stalled from making his speedway debut after a piece of debris shredded a tire on his No. 99 Elevator Transportation Services Ford Fusion and ultimately resulted in an unexpected meeting with the wall in practice.

Forced to regroup and withdraw from the Kansas Lottery 98.9, Evans Jr. and his Team BCR Racing team led by Motorsports veteran Howard Bixman exited the track disappointed but determined knowing that Toledo Speedway was on deck and the chance for Evans Jr. to strut his stuff wasn’t far away.

The time is now here and Evans Jr. is ready to use motivation as a way of bouncing back and putting his No. 99 Elevator Transportation Services / Casite / RoushYatesParts.com Ford Fusion in contention in Sunday’s ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season finale, the Toledo ARCA 200 presented by Federated Car Care.

“Kansas was disappointing for sure, but that’s in the past,” said Evans Jr. “Toledo Speedway is approaching this weekend and that’s where our focus is. I’ve experienced ups and downs in my racing career – that’s just part of the business. The team’s demeanor hasn’t changed at all – we’re just staying focused on the job at hand and we’re going to Toledo and prove that we can be a threat and put our No. 99 Elevator Transportation Services / Casite / RoushYatesParts.com Ford Fusion up front.”

An obvious reason that motivation is carrying the team to the Northern Ohio-race track this weekend is the result of a recent private test session at the half-mile oval where the Friendswood, Texas native stunned the team with extremely wicked fast laps – at times good enough to put their blue oval on the pole in the most recent race held there in May.

“I’ve been telling everyone for a while that CJ is the real deal and that’s the truth,” said crew chief Howard Bixman. “Here’s a kid that has jumped into these cars with very little experience and has accelerated himself well beyond our early goals. Everyone is antsy about Toledo Speedway on Sunday and I think CJ will step up and show the field what he is capable of doing.”

Of course, short track racing is dynamic. Staying out of trouble, using patience and keeping the fenders on your automobile are all crucial to success. Even though the former INEX Legends Car Series driver will carry a yellow stripe on the back of his No. 99 Elevator Transportation Services / Casite / RoushYatesParts.com Ford Fusion, he is well aware of what it will take to get the job done on race day.

Charles Evans Jr.

“Give and take,” offered the 21-year old. “It’s 200 laps. There’s plenty of time to get to the front and stay there, if we’re forced to start near the back of the field. This team has a great leader in Howard, and he crew has worked real hard to build us two new cars in the last month. The team is plenty capable of running up front, leading laps and contending for a strong finish. We’re hoping a solid effort will give us some headway going into the off-season, where we’re planning on being around a lot more in 2012. We still need some sponsorship in order to make that happen, but we’re working on that. A good run on Sunday afternoon definitely wouldn’t hurt us with that scenario either.”

For Bixman, he’s just looking for his freshman driver to take the green and checkered flag.

“We know we’re going to have a good No. 99 Elevator Transportation Services / Casite / RoushYatesParts.com Ford Fusion,” the Michigan native said. “We won’t be able to control everything that happens, but we know what our intentions are for Sunday. CJ is plenty capable of racing with ARCA’s finest; we just want him to earn their respect and vice-versa. If we can keep everything intact, we’ll be in good shape. All of us at Team BCR would like to say thank you to all our marketing partners for their support this year along with NASCAR driver Colin Braun who’s served as CJ’s driving coach.”

In addition to Elevator Transportation Services, RoushYates Engines, RoushYates Performance Products, The Casite Company and Ford Racing will serve as marketing partners for Evans Jr. third career ARCA start.

The Toledo ARCA 200 presented by Federated Car Care (200 laps / 100 miles) is the 19th of 19 events on the 2011 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. The 70th ARCA race at Toledo Speedway is a two-day show. Practice begins Saturday, October 15 with a forty five minute practice session planned from 12:00 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. A final forty five minute “happy hour” session has been etched in from 1:40 p.m. – 2:25 p.m. Menards pole qualifying presented by Ansell is set for later in the day slated to begin at 4:00 p.m. A one hour on-track autograph session has been etched in from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. on race day (Sunday). Raceway and Madison (Wis.) International Speedway respectively, Team BCR Racing’s Charles Evans Jr. will take a massive leap in his stock car career by competing in Friday night’s Kansas Lottery 98.9 at Kansas Speedway.

The race which is the next-to-last event on the 2011 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards calendar will mark the first ever speedway contest for the Friendswood, Texas native. To help the ARCA rookie brace for the 18th race of the year, the Team BCR Racing team led by Motorsports veteran Howard Bixman participated in an open-test at the 1.5-mile oval on September 20.

During the eight-hour session, Evans Jr. patiently worked his way up to speed as the team made several adjustments to their No. 99 Elevator Transportation Services Ford Fusion. Finding their niche by the time testing concluded, Evans Jr. and Bixman are highly optimistic about Friday night’s race.

Charles Evans Jr.

“I’m more than ready to go,” said Evans Jr., who joined the ARCA Racing Series tour in July after a successful career in INEX Legend Car Series competition. “We really worked hard during the Kansas test trying to get our No. 99 Elevator Transportation Services Ford Fusion to handle to our liking. Coming back, we know that we’re going to flex some serious muscle from RoushYates Engines and our RoushYates Performance Parts will be second-to-none. I feel that this is an opportunity for us to show the series’ what we are made of and I’m looking forward to getting everything underway Friday.”

Making the elevation change from a short track to the serious high banks of an mile-and-a half-intermediate track like Kansas Speedway can be intimidating to any rising youngster but for Evans Jr., the opportunity laid before him only gives him the motivation to show what he is made of.

“I still have a lot to learn in the ARCA Racing Series, but I know that I can get the job done,” offered Evans Jr. “I’m probably my biggest critic. I always want to outdo not only myself but my competition as well. I guess that’s the competitive factor in me. I see Friday night’s race as a test within a race. It’s a test to see how I can adapt to racing around the same group at one of the fastest tracks on the circuit. I would like to think that we have a shot at a top-10 finish, but ideally, if we can finish somewhere competitively inside the top-15, I think everyone would be pleased.”

Colin Braun

An added bonus to Evans Jr. and his Mooresville, North Carolina-based team this week will be the addition of NASCAR driver Colin Braun who will serve as a driver coach, mentor and analyst for the rookie on Friday. Braun, a member of the Ford Racing family will assist Evans Jr. in his speedway debut. The presence of the former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race winner is a soothing one for the 21-year old pilot.

“I’ve had the opportunity to talk and work with Colin over the last couple of weeks and I seem to connect with him really well,” sounded Evans Jr. “Having the ability to climb out of the car and talk to another driver about what I’m feeling is a sense of relief to me. Colin is experienced and has been very competitive at tracks like this in the past. Hopefully with some wisdom from him we can step up to the plate and maybe sweep everyone off their feet with a strong finish.”

For crew chief Bixman, he is pleased with the direction of the Team BCR Racing organization within the past month or so.

“We’ve picked up the pace and CJ has been right there to do the same behind the wheel,” Bixman stated. “The test went good at Kansas. This is a new car we built for CJ. We made an array of changes and made some substantial gains from start to finish. Then, we went to Toledo last week with another new short track car we built for him and I’m telling you, he laid some laps down, CJ is the real deal. So our hype for these final two races is pretty solid right now.”

He added, “Also, to have someone like Colin (Braun) who is taking time out of his schedule to come to Kansas and be a mentor to CJ says a lot about his character. Colin and I have a long history together, I was apart of Colin’s ARCA career. He is a very talented driver and that well benefit CJ. The two seem to really click on and off the track and I think that’s important as we continue to build our platform. If we can keep our nose clean and complete all 99 laps we’ll take where we finish and look to improve on it at Toledo Speedway.”

In addition to Elevator Transportation Services, RoushYates Engines, RoushYates Performance Products and The Casite Company will serve as associate marketing partners for Evans Jr. third career ARCA start.

The Kansas Lottery 98.9 (99 laps / 148.5 miles) is the 18th of 19 events on the 2011 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. The 11th ARCA event held at Kansas Speedway is a one-day show. Practice begins Friday, October 7 with a two hour and 15 minute practice session planned from 9:00 a.m. -11:15 a.m. Menards Pole by Ansell qualifying is slated to begin later in the day at 5:35 p.m. The field will take the green flag approximately two hours later at 7:30 p.m. The event will be televised live on SPEED with additional race coverage including live timing and scoring throughout the 1,330th race for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards since it was formed in 1953 will be available through the ARCA Racing Network (ARN) online at arcaracing.com presented by ARCANation.com. All times are local.

Timmy Hill set his season goal to become the NASCAR Nationwide Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year. That title means a little more to the 18 year old who was forced to sit out the season opener at Daytona due to age restrictions.

Now just eight races away, Hill holds a slim two point lead over Blake Koch in what would mark a very historic accomplishment.

If Hill can finish the season with the points lead, he would become the youngest rookie of the year in the history of any of the top three NASCAR Series, beating Joey Logano, Landon Cassill and Colin Braun.

Sprint Cup: Joey Logano: 19 years, 5 months, 28 days in 2009

Nationwide: Landon Cassill: 19 years, 4 months, 8 days in 2008

Camping World Truck: Colin Braun: 20 years, 1 month, 23 days in 2008

At the end of the season, Hill will be 18 years, 8 months, 25 days.

Not only would Hill’s age become significant but also the manner in which it would be achieved. Hill has competed with the lower budget team of Rick Ware Racing for the 2011 campaign. Former NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year winners have predominately competed with Sprint Cup Series affiliated organizations such as Penske Racing, Roush-Fenway Racing, Hendrick Motorsports, Chip Ganassi Racing and Richard Childress Racing dating back over a decade.

“Eight races is a long way from now. Blake (Koch) has been getting stronger and now with Ryan (Truex) in the Joe Gibbs #20 car, it is far from over,” stated Hill. “We have held the lead since the 5th race of the season but it’s going to be a war to hold on to it!”

“We are in control of our own destiny. It has been that way all year. We need to keep putting up solid finishes and that’s all you can ask for.”

Perhaps what is even more astonishing about Timmy Hill is what will happen at Daytona in 2012. Hill will compete in the season opener at the age of 18 and will not be considered a rookie, something that is almost inconceivable.

Date: Aug. 20, 2011

Event: VFW 200 (Race 15 of 25)

Series: NASCAR Camping World Truck Series

Location: Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn (2-mile oval)

Start / Finish: 13th / 25th (DNF -Radiator, completed 63 of 102 laps)

Winner: Kevin Harvick of Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) (Chevrolet) in a green-white-checkered finish

Kyle Busch was running third just past the halfway mark in Saturday’s VFW 200 at Michigan International Speedway, when a piece of side window off another truck pierced its way through the front of his Toyota and punctured a hole in the radiator. Busch, who appeared to have a formidable shot at putting his Traxxas Tundra in Victory Lane for the fifth time in as many races with the Plano, Texas-based company’s logo on the hood of his No. 18, was forced to retire from the race and was credited with a disappointing 25th-place finish.

Kyle Busch - Photo Credit: Jonathan Ferrey / Getty Images

“We had such a great Traxxas Tundra today,” said Busch, who had finished in the top 10 in each of the last 21 NCWTS races he entered. “We were running third, biding our time and seeing if there was going to be a late yellow to come out to get ourselves track position. Somebody’s side window went through our lower radiator duct and went through the radiator and knocked a hole in it. I saw it when I ran it over. I didn’t know what it was. But, I watched my gauges and everything, and none of the gauges did anything. I didn’t think that there would be a problem and then all of the sudden it started missing. By that point, you’re running on a steam machine, so you’re done – it’s over. I just hate it for all these guys. This will really hurt us in the points.”

Harvick’s win, combined with Busch’s misfortune, helped KHI’s No. 2 Chevrolet erase KBM’s 27-point lead in the NCWTS Owners’ Point Standings, leaving the two teams tied as the series heads to Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.

After starting the race from the 13th position, Busch maneuvered his way up to the fifth spot when the second caution of the race occurred on lap 14. Believing that the 100-lap race was destined to be decided by a battle of fuel mileage, crew chief Eric Phillips ordered the No. 18 Traxxas Tundra down pit road where the KBM crew administered a fuel-only stop.

Busch restarted the race from the 16th position, but was able to make a strong run on the top line of the race track and catapulted into the fifth position by the time the field got back to the start-finish line. By lap 29, the Las Vegas native was in the runner-up spot and took the lead for the first time at lap 41, when Austin Dillon made a scheduled pit stop under green-flag conditions.

The No. 18 paced the field until Busch brought his Tundra to pit road for his regularly-scheduled four-tire stop under green-flag conditions at lap 48. When pit stops cycled through on lap 57, the No. 18 Traxxas Tundra was scored in the third position – trailing only race-leader Mark Martin and Dillon.

Around lap 60, Busch communicated to the team that he had run over some kind of debris. Shortly after, the engine began to skip and the water pressure plummeted, forcing him to bring his Toyota into the garage after completing just 63 laps.

“I kept an eye on the gauges to make sure nothing like that was happening and it snuck up on us,” said a dejected Busch about the debris. “It just happened. The water pressure gauge didn’t do anything until the motor started missing and by that time it was too late. Water temp didn’t change. I hate it for all the guys and Traxxas, Dollar General, M&M’s, Flexco – everybody that supports us. It’s going to hurt us in the owner’s championship. I just hate it for all our guys. We really worked hard and thought we had a good truck and thought we were going to have a decent day out of it. We were just waiting for this caution to come out and get our track position back to see if the changes we made were better, because it seemed like our truck was better.”

In winning Saturday’s VFW 200, Harvick picked up back-to-back NCWTS victories and became the first driver to win in all three of NASCAR’s national series (NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series and NCWTS) at Michigan International Speedway.

The race ended in a green-white-checkered finish with Red Horse Racing teammates Timothy Peters and Miguel Paludo finishing second and third, respectively. James Buescher finished fourth and David Starr rounded out the top five while Jason White, Ron Hornaday Jr., Brendan Gaughan, Colin Braun and Cole Whitt completed the top 10.

There were seven caution periods for 22 laps, with 14 drivers failing to finish the 102-lap race.

The next event on the NCWTS schedule is the Aug. 24 Pure O’Reilly 200 at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. The race starts at 8 p.m. EDT with live coverage beginning with its NCWTS Setup show at 7:30 p.m. EDT on SPEED.

Braun has been released from Roush Fenway, which is focusing on finding sponsorship for Carl Edwards, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Trevor Bayne for the Nationwide Series next season.

The 22-year-old Braun won a Truck Series race at Michigan on his way to a fifth-place finish in the series standings in 2009 but then had a rough year in the Nationwide Series in 2010. He made 24 starts with five top-10s but seven races which he didn’t finish.

“Roush Fenway has been looking, trying to put a program together but … couldn’t find a sponsor and allowed me to go look elsewhere and try to put together a program somewhere else,” Braun said in a phone interview Wednesday. “I had a really good time over there at Roush Fenway. I enjoyed working with them. It’s a sad day for sure, but hopefully we can work some other deal out here.”

Ford 300

November 20, 2010

Homestead-Miami Speedway

PAUL MENARD – No. 98 Menards Ford Fusion (Finished 9th) –

“We were gonna run between fifth and ninth anyways, so we did a little tire conservation and tried to save a set to the end just to make it interesting and wound up ninth. That’s kind of where we were gonna run anyway, so we figured we would roll the dice and try a little something and wound up about the same spot. The car was pretty good all night. It had a hole in the nose right at the end and about the last 30 laps it got real tight, but that’s kind of where we ran all
night.”

WITH SO MANY CAUTIONS WAS IT HARD TO FIND A RHYTHM TONIGHT?

“We definitely had a long-run car and not a short-run car for sure. The cautions hurt us. It seemed like it took us five laps for the car to start turning and then once it would start turning the caution would come out and that hurt us. It just took us a while to get going.”

COLIN BRAUN – No. 16 Con-way Freight Ford Fusion (Finished 29th) –

“I thought we had a decent run going there. We kind of got tricked with the way we had our pit strategy going. We ended up having to put the set of tires on that we made our qualifying run on and started the race on, and it just didn’t have the grip we thought it was going to, so I kind of got back there in traffic. We just got racing with people we probably shouldn’t have been racing with, but you’ve got to get after it and be aggressive. It’s disappointing, though, that somebody wouldn’t cut you a little bit of a break.”

RICKY STENHOUSE, JR. – No. 6 CitiFinancial Ford Fusion (Finished 4th)

– “It was awesome for CitiFinancial to back us like that, and it was pretty cool for Blackwell Angus Beef. It was special to win the Raybestos Rookie of the Year. It is a huge honor. We came back from adversity there early in the season. We came here wanting to win this race which is why we took tires at the end and we just didn’t get
there quite enough.”

ARE YOU ONE OF THOSE GUYS THAT DOESN’T WANT TO SEE THE SEASON END?

“10-4 on that. I wish we could have started the year where we are right now. This is good momentum going in the offseason for this whole team. Jack Roush has done an awesome job with this team. It has been a fun year and I learned a lot.”

CARL EDWARDS – No. 60 Copart Ford Fusion (Finished 6th) –

“We had a really good car. We got t-boned there off of two where a guy lost it and hit us in the right rear. It is just the way it goes sometimes. That car was super fast tonight though; it is a shame how fast it was for that to happen. It was an awesome night for Ricky (Stenhouse) and for us to finish fourth, fifth, sixth is not a bad night at all.”

TREVOR BAYNE – No. 17 Roush Fenway Ford Fusion (Finished 5th) –

“That is an awesome way to come to the end of the season. I was thinking about that coming off the last corner, thinking about how we have three months to think about this last race. I am glad it was a good one for us. It could have been a really bad one because we got into the fence there running around 6th or 7th and we were really tight. I got out of the corner and cut down the tire, it took off and I got the wall. After that, the first caution after that we were terrible. We were really fighting it and I don’t know what was wrong with it. We came back in and they worked on it and God must have done some doctoring on it because it came to life again. We were able to drive to the front and stay there after everybody took tires. We were able to stay up front and bring this thing home fifth.”

YOU AND RICKY MAYBE SHOWED EVERYONE THE FUTURE OF ROUSH FENWAY RACING TONIGHT .

“I sure hope so. If we can run like that every weekend it would be exciting. It was wild because I would look up and I would be fifth and he would be 10th and then we would flip spots and end up finishing fourth and fifth. I am really proud of him for winning Rookie of the Year. Carl finished right behind us which shows the consistency of the cars. I am really happy with everyone here at Roush Fenway to battle back like that and get us that type of run.”

“I can’t believe this is the last race of the year. I have learned so much and look forward to ending the year with another solid run. The car that we are taking is one of the best we have so we should be fast right off the truck. I have never raced at Homestead before but Mike (Kelley) has a lot of experience and success there so I will lean on him. I also plan on talking to Carl (Edwards) about the line around there and I look forward to what he says. I also hope to clinch the Raybestos Rookie of the Year title with a solid run. It’s our main focus right now.”

Crew Chief Mike Kelley on racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway:

“I am looking forward to Homestead this weekend. We have had great success there and there is no reason to believe we won’t end the season with our best finish. Personally, I have had this race circled since the beginning of the season. Even though Ricky has not been to Homestead-Miami Speedway, I am very confident we’ll have a car that will be fast all weekend. We are taking the same car that we had in Texas (led 27 laps) but we’ve made it even better. As a company, Homestead has been a place where we have turned heads and I have no doubt that we will do the same thing this weekend.”

FAST FACTS:

RIDING WAVE OF MOMENTUM TO MIAMI – Colin Braun and the No. 16 Con-way Freight team head to Miami with confidence after scoring a seventh-place finish at Phoenix International Raceway last weekend, tying Braun’s previous season high finish. It was the rookie’s fifth top-10 finish of the season and he picked up rookie of the race honors for the ninth time in 2010 as well.

BRAUN AT HOMESTEAD – Braun boasts experience in many different forms at the 1.5-mile Homestead Miami Speedway; competing in the Rolex Grand-Am Series in 2005 (GT class) and 2007 (DP class) as well as the Camping
World Truck Series. In his most recent start last season in a truck, Braun took the pole and finished third, cementing a comeback to finish fifth in the Truck Series point standings.

BRAUN SEASON STATS - In the 23 races he has run in the No. 16 this season, Braun has scored 10 top-15 finishes, five top-10 finishes and led one lap. His highest finish of the season was seventh, which he tallied twice (Gateway International Raceway, Phoenix International Raceway).

ROUSH FENWAY RACING AT HOMESTEAD - In 32 Nationwide Series starts at Homestead Miami Speedway, Roush Fenway Racing has notched three wins, 16 top-fives, 21 top-10s, two pole awards and 421 laps led. The wins were tallied by Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, and Jeff Burton.

HOMESTEAD CHASSIS SELECTION – Crew chief Chad Norris has selected RK-374 for the season finale Ford 300 at Homestead Miami Speedway. This car was last driven by Braun at California where the rookie started 35th
and finished 13th.

Colin Braun (Photo Credit: Jonathan Daniel / Getty Images)

Braun, on the final race at Homestead:

“That seventh-place finish in Phoenix last weekend was a really great momentum booster and has Chad [Norris, crew chief] and the guys ready to do it again one last time this weekend. Homestead is a track that I’ve had success at in both the Truck Series and back in my sports car days and I’m excited to see what we can do there with our Con-way
Freight Ford. We got a top-15 finish with this chassis in California a few weeks ago and I believe we can better that for sure this weekend.”

Crew chief Chad Norris, on the season finale in Homestead:

“Coming off a good run at Phoenix with Colin and the Con-way Freight Ford, we are excited for the finale at Homestead to finish out the season with a solid top five or a win. We are all thrilled to be in Miami for Ford weekend and for the last race with Con-way Freight for the season. Colin has been pretty good there in the Truck Series and we are ready to build on his strong performances that he has had there in the past.”

(Nov. 12, 2010) – Carl Edwards winning his 50th NASCAR career victory this past weekend in Texas has only been a part of the memorable wins that he has gathered so far this season. From his win at Gateway International Raceway to the inaugural win at Road America, Edwards has been busy working hard on and off of the track.

One of his efforts came as a result of his victory at Road America where on October 25 it was announced that Edwards had teamed up with one his NASCAR Nationwide Series sponsors Copart, Inc. to auction off some of his personal memorabilia. Included in the auction is the Harley Davidson motorcycle he won from Road America, a race-used fire suit, the hood of his No. 60 Copart Ford and an autographed pit crew uniform. Edwards’ intention is to donate all auction proceeds to Back2Back Ministries’ orphanages.

Copart.com started accepting maximum bids on October 25. However, the final live auction will take place on November 15. To date, the motorcycle bid is up to $5,800, the fire suit is $500, the hood is $250 and the crew shirt is at $125. Using social media to promote this auction, Copart estimates that over 600 people have signed up as new members on Copart.com with the hope of helping Edwards in his charitable cause.

Between now and the live auction on Monday, November 15, fans are encouraged to visit Copart.com for a chance to own a piece of Carl Edwards’ history. Once a member, folks can place their bid on any of the Edwards’ memorabilia and enter a sweepstakes with a chance to win one of 500 No. 60 Copart Ford die cast cars.

Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010

No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing News and Notes Heading Into Phoenix:

The Driver… Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who leads the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings by six points, will make his second NASCAR Nationwide Series start at Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday afternoon. In February, Stenhouse started 14th and finished 9th.

The Organization… Roush Fenway Racing has seven wins, 19 top fives and 33 top 10s in 48 Nationwide Series starts at Phoenix International Raceway. Stenhouse joins teammates Carl Edwards, Paul Menard, Trevor Bayne and Colin Braun in the Wypall 200 on Saturday afternoon.

The Machine… Blackwell Angus Beef will adorn the No. 6 Ford Fusion this weekend in Phoenix for the fourth and final race in 2010. CitiFinancial is the primary sponsor for 24 races in 2010 with Stenhouse. The team will use chassis #RK-688 in Phoenix. Stenhouse recently raced this chassis at ORP (Indy) where he started third and finished 11th. This chassis was also used by Stenhouse in April at Richmond (20th) and in June at Loudon (16th).

On Air… The Wypall 200 can be seen live on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 on ESPN2 with coverage beginning at 4:00 p.m. EDT. The event can also be heard live on MRN affiliates beginning at 4:00 p.m. EDT.

Now Appearing… Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will be appearing at the Ford Display for a Q&A session on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 from 11:45 a.m. – 12:0 p.m. local time. This appearance is open to the public.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. on racing at Phoenix International Raceway:

“We’ve got Blackwell Angus Beef back on the car this Saturday, so we’re excited about that. Our team is looking to keep up the momentum from our solid run in Texas last weekend. Earlier this year, we had a ninth-place finish in Phoenix so I can’t wait to hit the track. The car we are bringing is a newer Roush Fenway Racing chassis. It’s been solid in the three other races we’ve run it this year so we are expecting big things. We’re also keeping the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings in mind. We are in the lead but we need to keep working hard if we want to win it. We have just two more races to prove it.”

Crew Chief Mike Kelley on racing at Phoenix International Raceway:

“I am looking forward to Phoenix this weekend. Ricky was fast there earlier this year and we’re bringing one of our newer cars. It’s a cool place but it’s very different on each end of the racetrack. It has two distinct corners and has a dog-leg on the back stretch. It’s a challenge because you never get the car good at both ends of the track. Usually you can give up turn three and four a little bit more than one and two. If you get to where you are good in one corner and you can just maintain it in another regardless of which one it is, that will work out for you but I think turn one might be slightly more important than three or four.”

FAST FACTS:

BRAUN MAKING RETURN TRIP TO PHOENIX - Colin Braun will make his second trip of 2010 to Phoenix International Raceway in the No. 16 Con-way Freight Ford this weekend. In his first race in April, Braun started a promising eighth, but finished 24th after being caught in a multi-car accident on the front stretch during a restart.

CON-WAY FOR FINAL TWO – Long-time Roush Fenway Racing sponsor/partner Con-way Freight will be on board the No. 16 Ford for the final two races of 2010 with Braun behind the wheel. In his 22 prior starts this year, Braun has notched four top-10 finishes.

INTERMEDIATE TRACK STATS - Of his four top-10 finishes in 2010, all but one (Michigan) came at intermediate tracks (tracks measuring between one and two miles in length). This is good news for Braun as he heads to both Phoenix International Raceway and Homestead Miami Speedway, as both are intermediate tracks.

ROUSH FENWAY RACING AT PHOENIX - In 48 Nationwide Series starts at Phoenix International Raceway, Roush Fenway Racing has notched seven wins, 19 top-fives, 33 top-10s, five pole awards and 1164 laps led. The wins were tallied by Carl Edwards (3), Greg Biffle (2), Matt Kenseth, and Jeff Burton.

PHOENIX CHASSIS SELECTION - Crew chief Chad Norris has selected RK-461 for this weekend’s WYPALL 200 at Phoenix International Raceway. Braun last drove this car in July at O’Reilly Raceway Park where he finished 12th after starting seventh.

Braun, on heading to Phoenix: “I’m really excited to get back in the Con-way Freight Ford this weekend at Phoenix. My first start there in the spring clearly didn’t end the way we were hoping with the accident on the restart and so I’m hoping to kind of get a second shot at the finish I know this team deserves. Chad [Norris, crew chief] and the guys worked hard in the short time they had with this car and so I’m hopeful we can get a good showing out on the west coast this weekend.”

Crew chief Chad Norris, on racing with Braun at Phoenix: “We are excited to have Colin [Braun] back in the No. 16 car here going into the remaining two races of the season. I know he qualified well at Phoenix in the spring and just got caught up in a wreck. Our over-the-wall guys have been getting it done for us on pit road the past few weeks so if we can avoid trouble, I think we have the chance to get Colin a solid top-10 finish this weekend in Phoenix.”

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. on racing at Texas Motor Speedway:

“I can’t wait to get to Texas this weekend. The last time we were there, we had a fast car. We qualified in the top five and had a solid run going until we were a victim of someone else’s mistake. Texas is super fast and I am confident we’ll have a great car for the race. We are taking the same car we finished sixth in a few weeks ago at Kansas Speedway, so it’s a proven piece. We have been running well lately and the fact that I have experience on the track, makes this entire CitiFinancial team excited about the weekend.”

Crew Chief Mike Kelley on racing at Texas Motor Speedway:

“The Texas Motor Speedway is fast. We haven’t been able to pull off a win there as a company in a couple of years so we’re due. We’ve really worked hard lately on a new program for the mile and a half tracks. We had a fast car back in the spring at Texas and we’re looking forward to see what happens this weekend. Like I said, it’s a fast race track and it will lend itself to Ricky’s driving style. We showed we were fast at Charlotte and Atlanta over the last couple of months so Texas is going to be fun.”
