Chassis: RK-356

FAST FACTS:

BRAUN SEASON-TO-DATE – In 2010, Colin Braun has one top-20 finish which
came at Auto Club Speedway in February. After running in the top-10 for
the second half of the race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Braun was
poised for his first top-10 finish of the season before being taken out
during a restart with 30 laps to go.

BRAUN AT BRISTOL - The start this weekend in the Scott’s Turf Builder
300 at Bristol Motor Speedway will be Braun’s first in the NASCAR
Nationwide Series. He has made two previous starts at the half-mile
track in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, scoring a top-15 finish
last August after starting fourth.

ROOKIE RACE - Braun’s 28th-place finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
earned him the Raybestos Rookie of the Race honors for the Sam’s Town
300, his first of the season. Braun remains third in the rookie of the
year standings, one point out of second place and five points behind
first place.

NEW ADDITION - As part of Braun’s partnership with Ford Driving
Skills For Life (DSFL), the Ford DSFL logo will appear on Braun’s
uniform and the No. 16 Con-way Freight Ford this weekend and the
remainder of the 2010 season. Braun is in his second year as a national
spokesperson for Ford DSFL, promoting the importance of safe driving to
teens around the country.

CHASSIS SELECTION - Crew chief Eddie Pardue has selected RK-356 this
weekend for the Scott’s Turf Builder 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
This car was raced last season at Iowa Speedway by current Roush Fenway
Racing teammate Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in August where he finished 22nd
after starting from the pole position.

Colin Braun - Photo Credit: Sam Greenwood/Getty Images for NASCAR

Braun, on heading to Bristol:

“I am so anxious to get back racing after these two weeks off. It
hasn’t been too bad I guess, because I’ve been able to test a little
bit and so I’ve been in a car a few times. Bristol is a great place
to get started again and is a welcome challenge for me and the No. 16
Con-way Freight team.

I’ve raced there twice in the truck series and
learned a lot during both of those races. I’m excited to build on
those experiences this weekend. Qualifying is important because of
track position and pit stall selection, which can both play a part in
the outcome of the race. I just want to go in there, qualify well and
have a good solid race where I can keep the fenders clean and come away
with a solid finish.”

Crew chief Eddie Pardue, on the keys to running well at Bristol:

“Everyone loves going to Bristol because the drivers enjoy the hard
racing and the fans love to watch it, but it is a very challenging track
for sure. Qualifying is one of the most critical factors at Bristol
because it determines pit stall selection and plays a heavy hand in
track position for the duration of the race.

Pit stops are extremely important in order to maintain track position as Bristol is a hard place
to pass and mistakes on and off the track are hard to overcome. It will
also be important to stay ahead of track conditions on adjustments in
order to keep a good handling car throughout the afternoon. Everything
just happens so quick at Bristol, one minute you’re contending for a
top-10 and the next minute you’re in the garage with a torn up
car.”

(March 11, 2010) – With four races in the rear-view mirror in 2010, Roush Fenway Racing heads into the Sprint Cup Series first off-weekend with cars ranked second and third in the Cup point standings. In fact, Roush Fenway drivers Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle have yet to finish outside of the top 10 in a race this season, while combining for three top-five finishes. Kenseth trails first place Kevin Harvick by only 29 points, with Biffle just 33 points back of the No. 17.

Kenseth posted a Roush Fenway season best runner-up finish last weekend in Atlanta, while Biffle and Edwards each made serious bids to win the season opening Daytona 500.

All in all, Roush Fenway has started 16 Cup entries 2010, finishing inside the top 13 in 11 of those starts, while averaging a 14th-place finish.

“It is awesome,” said Kenseth after his career-best Atlanta runner up finish last Sunday propelled him into the second spot in the Cup standings. “I couldn’t be happier with the way the season has started. It feels good to be competitive and it feels like we are headed in the right direction. It’s been a lot of fun, and really cool to get off to this good of a start and to have been to four different race tracks and be pretty competitive at all of them.”

Biffle says while the start has been solid, the Roush Fenway Ford’s are capable of much more going forward.

“I’d hate to say I’m disappointed with a season that has started with four top-10 finishes in four races but in my opinion, it should have been four top-five finishes in four races,” said Biffle. “We’ve just had some things happen like being on pit road for a green-flag stop when the caution came out and getting blocked in our pit box that have kept us from those top-five finishes. This team is putting every effort into giving me fast racecars and fast pit stops. We have been a top-five competitor every week and that is what it takes to win championships.”

In the Nationwide Series Edwards sits atop the standings, 41 points ahead of second place Brad Keselowski. He is joined inside the top 10 by Roush Fenway teammate Paul Menard, who is ninth in points with two top-10 finishes in three starts in 2010, including an eighth-place run two weeks ago at Las Vegas and a sixth-place run in Daytona.

Roush Fenway Racing is NASCAR’s largest team operating eight motorsports teams. Four in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with drivers Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards and David Ragan; and four in the Nationwide Series with Edwards, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Colin Braun and Paul Menard. For more information on any of the Roush Fenway Racing teams, log onto www.RoushFenway.com.

Parker Kligerman - Photo Credit: Sam Greenwood/Getty Images for NASCAR

PARKER KLIGERMAN, No. 42 SMITH IRONWORKS DODGE:

“We broke a gearbox there. We had the same gearbox that we run at California and it acted up on that restart there at California where we dived out of the way to avoid someone and I went to grab fourth and kind of ground the gears a little bit to get it on fourth and it’s kind of shown it’s ugly head here today. We had a fast car. We qualified 21st and I think at one point we were up to 13th, 12th really moving. We’d start off the run too tight and we kind of came in at the end of the run and we were fighting the re with Colin and Ricky and bunch of other guys for like 13th.

After our pit stop we come out and the vibration was out of control and we think it was the gearbox and we got that restart and just fell back. We were fast. I mean, this is a really underfunded deal. Thank you to Eddie Smith and Roger Penske for putting this together. We get Penske motors but other than that it’s really their stuff. Obviously there’s no sponsor on the car so we don’t have the funding that we’d really like to go out…we should’ve probably have changed the gearbox but that would’ve cost us money. I think we really could have finish top-15, top-10 this race and to have that happen just breaks your heart.”

Brian Scott

BRIAN SCOTT, No. 11 STOPREPAIRBILLS.COM TOYOTA:

“I feel terrible. The StopRepairBills.com Toyota was really good. It was really the first wheel I put wrong all day. I don’t know what Paul Menard was doing. I ran him down from a while and it was like he wanted to teach me a lesson. He changed his line to block me and then when I got inside of him he really pinched me down and stayed low. And you can do that to anybody, I mean, if you’re on the outside of somebody you can spin anybody out. You just hold ‘em down and that’s what he chose to do to me I guess. I’ll remember it. Someday he’ll be having a good day and we’ll race him like he raced us.”

James Buescher - Photo Credit: Sam Greenwood/Getty Images for NASCAR

JAMES BUESCHER, No. 1 PHOENIX RACING CHEVROLET: WHAT HAPPENED?

“Well, right after green-flag pit stops we were just about back on the lead lap, letting everything cycle out, and the 99 come up and got into us getting into one and cut our left rear down and that really started the bad day. We had to come pit again and that put us three laps down and luckily we didn’t wreck it then. We worked all day to get back to one lap down and we were almost in position to get the lucky dog, one more car to pass, and the 43 got into us in the center of three and four and put me in the wall off of four. I could smell tire smoke for like five or 10 laps and we were just praying for a caution to stay one lap down to hopefully be able to come in and pit and get back in the lead lap and put ourself in position for the lucky dog. Everybody worked really hard on this Phoenix Racing number 1 car all day. It’s unfortunate.”

Colin Braun - Photo Credit: Sam Greenwood/Getty Images for NASCAR

COLIN BRAUN, No. 16 ROUSH FENWAY FORD: YOU HAD A REALLY GOOD CAR.

“It’s disappointing. I feel bad for all these guys. They brought me a really good race car. That No. 16 Roush Fenway Ford was really fast. We struggled early on. I just couldn’t get my restarts down but I got those better. We just held on there for that lucky dog spot ahead of Kyle and then he finally snuck by us but then we were in a position to get the lucky dog.& nbsp; I thought we were going to be in good shape and have a good solid run. These guys did a great job on pit road. I guess that’s part of racing.”

WHAT HAPPENED?

“I drove down in the corner and was under Paul Menard and my back tires came off the ground and I spun out. I didn’t lift or anything like that. Not much you can do I guess when that happens [smiles].”

(February 26, 2010) – While the finish may not have indicated it, Colin Braun made strides in his first Nationwide Series start at Auto Club Speedway last weekend. After falling a lap down during green flag pit stops, the rookie kept himself in position to receive the free pass and get back on the lead lap, where he finished, in a clean race car.

“As a team, we obviously want to be up front contending for top-10s and top fives every week, which I hope we will. I’m learning though that I need to crawl before I can walk,” Braun said. “That includes goals like finishing on the lead lap and bringing home a clean car every weekend. When I’m able to master those things, the top-10s, top-fives and even wins will come.”

Braun will again be piloting the white, No. 16 Roush Fenway Racing Ford Fusion in his first Nationwide Series start at Las Vegas this weekend and he understands that a good finish has potential implications beyond seeing his car number atop the scoring pylon. While Con-way Freight is the primary sponsor for the No. 16 car this season, Roush Fenway Racing continues to seek partners for the remaining unsold races on Braun’s schedule.

“I think it’s been a while since an unsponsored car has been to victory lane and I’d really like to do well in Las Vegas to show folks that we have a team and an organization that they want to be a part of,” Braun said. “Roush Fenway Racing has such a deep history of bringing drivers up through the ranks and helping them become successful. Having strong partners on board has made that a possibility and they (Roush Fenway Racing) are looking to add to that list.”

The Sam’s Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway airs Saturday on ESPN2 at 4:00 p.m. EST.

FAST FACTS:

BRAUN AT LAS VEGAS - Colin Braun will make his NASCAR Nationwide Series Las Vegas Motor Speedway debut driving the No. 16 Roush Fenway Racing Ford Fusion this weekend in the Sam’s Town 300. While this is his first visit to the 1.5-mile track in the Nationwide Series, Braun has made two starts at Las Vegas in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with an average start of 3.5, average finish of 14.5 and six laps led.

ROOKIE COOK OFF – Braun will join fellow rookie of the year candidates at the ESPN Zone Las Vegas on February 25 to showcase their culinary skills in a pseudo Iron Chef competition. After receiving instruction from the ESPN Zone culinary team, Braun and the other rookies will cook a meal which will be judged by kids from the Boys and Girls Club of Las Vegas. After the competition, the drivers will join the kids in the ESPN Zone’s interactive Sports Arena. The event will take place from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE WITH RFR ROOKIES - Roush Fenway Racing’s history of developing championship drivers is second-to-none. The team has claimed 11 Raybestos Rookie of the Year awards and four of their development drivers have gone on to win championships (Biffle – ’00 Truck and ’02 Nationwide, Kenseth -’03 Cup, Busch – ’04 Cup and Edwards – ’07 Nationwide). Braun looks to add to this storied history in 2010. While Con-way Freight is signed on for half of the season, Braun will again pilot a white race car in Las Vegas, as Roush Fenway looks to add new partners to their already strong line-up in 2010.

STILL SEARCHING FOR 400 - Like his Roush Fenway Racing teammates, Braun is hoping to become the driver who can give Jack Roush his 400th win this weekend at Las Vegas. Roush has amassed 399 victories across his many starts in road racing and NASCAR’s top series’ and is looking for win number 400 in the NASCAR Nationwide or Sprint Cup Series.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR POINT STANDINGS – After his 18th place finish at California, Braun continues to hold onto the third spot in the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings behind leader James Buescher and second place Brian Scott.

CHASSIS SELECTION – Crew chief Eddie Pardue has selected RK-372 this weekend for the Sam’s Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This car was raced at Texas last November by Matt Kenseth where the veteran started from the pole and finished fourth.

Braun, on heading to Las Vegas: “I’ve been to Las Vegas a couple of times in the Truck Series and ran pretty well. I’m excited to get back there in a car this time and see what we can do and how I can improve. We didn’t get the finish we were hoping for last weekend at California, but I learned so much at during the race and I want to try and apply that this weekend. We unloaded fast and had good practice sessions, but we just couldn’t seem to hit on the balance during the race. I think we know now that’s something we need to focus on heading to Vegas. All we want to do is keep improving and we definitely have an opportunity for that this weekend.”

Crew chief Eddie Pardue, on running at Las Vegas: “We unloaded a really fast car at California and really thought we were headed for a better finish until that last restart where things got a little bottled up. But the good thing about a race like that is the fact that we were able to learn so much from it. Having a fast car is great, but we understand now that we need to focus on finding the balance and feel Colin needs for the race. Las Vegas doesn’t have as many lines as California and so achieving that balance is critical. One of the biggest challenges we will face are the bumps in turns one and two, but I think having been there before in the truck series will help Colin with that. I’m just excited to get to the track to use what we learned last week and put together a good, solid finish.”

Nationwide). Roush Fenway’s new crop of up-and-coming drivers looks
to add to this storied history in 2010 and there are plenty of
opportunities to partner with them.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Colin Braun come from two completely different
backgrounds with one goal in mind, to win. Stenhouse, a native of
Mississippi, was raised at the dirt track and grew up racing winged
Sprint cars for owners like Tony Stewart. Braun on the other hand, grew
up road course racing around the world and at 16 was the youngest
Daytona Prototype driver ever. Both Stenhouse and Braun will battle it
out for 2010 Raybestos Rookie of the Year honors in the Nationwide
Series as they learn the ropes from owner Jack Roush and their
championship teammates.

The two drivers are committed to race full-time in the Nationwide
Series in 2010 but this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will mark
the first time both cars appear white. Stenhouse pilots the No. 6
CitiFinancial Ford and Braun the No. 16 Con-way Freight Ford but both
sponsors are signed on for half a season. This leaves plenty of
opportunity for new companies to partner and grow with one of NASCAR’s
rising stars. As well as a great chance to partner with one of
NASCAR’s most successful teams and some of America’s top
companies.

vice president of business development Robin Johnson at 704.720.4600.

(February 19, 2010) – Colin Braun will be making his first NASCAR Nationwide Series start at Auto Club Speedway this weekend in the Stater Bros. 300. The race this weekend poses an interesting challenge for the young driver, who is also running for the Raybestos Rookie of the Year title.

The No. 16 Roush Fenway Racing Ford is running without a sponsor this weekend. Con-way Freight moved up with Braun to the Nationwide Series from the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and will be on board for half the season. This presents an opportunity to other potential partners to join the No. 16 team in other markets around the country where the series makes stops.

A win in either the Nationwide or Cup Series would also give Jack Roush his 400th win in road course racing and NASCAR. Achieving this milestone would be honor for any of the Roush Fenway drivers, especially a young driver looking to make a name for himself at Roush Fenway and in the Nationwide Series.

“Getting Jack his 400th win would be an incredibly big deal for me,” Braun said. “Not only that, but I really want to get a good finish in the No. 16 car this weekend to show potential partners that we are a team they want to be a part of. This is a great, veteran group of guys who work very hard, week in and week out. This is also a time when a lot of people are paying attention to the Nationwide Series, because of everything we have going on.”

The Stater Bros. 300 at Auto Club Speedway airs on ESPN2 at 5:00 p.m. EST.

Chassis: RK-354

FAST FACTS:

BRAUN AT CALIFORNIA – Colin Braun will make his NASCAR Nationwide Series California debut in the No. 16 Roush Fenway Racing Ford Fusion this weekend in the Stater Bros. 300. Even though this is his first series start at California, Braun has visited the two-mile track twice in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series notching a top-10 finish in his very first start in 2008. Braun also qualified well in those two events, taking the green flag in the sixth spot in both.

SHOWING STRENGTH AT TWO-MILE TRACKS – Braun has made two starts in the NCWTS at each of the two-mile tracks (California and Michigan), scoring one win, one top-five and three top-10s in four starts. His truck series win came at Michigan International Speedway in August 2009 after starting sixth.

ROUSH FENWAY RACING AT CALIFORNIA - Roush Fenway Racing has notched impressive stats at the two-mile track. In 45 Nationwide Series starts, RFR has amassed six wins, 18 top-fives, 29 top-10s and two pole awards. The most recent RFR win came last spring with Carl Edwards in the No. 60. The No 16 team went to victory lane in California with Greg Biffle in 2006.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR POINT STANDINGS - After his 34th place finish at Daytona, Braun is ranked third in the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings behind leader James Buescher and second place Brian Scott.

COMING HOME - California is home to one member of the No. 16 Roush Fenway Racing team. Back-up hauler driver and member of the pit support team, Greg Hinkfus hails from Thousand Oaks, Calif., which is located about 85 miles from California Speedway.

CHASSIS SELECTION – Crew chief Eddie Pardue has selected RK-354 this weekend for the Stater Bros. 300 at California Speedway. This car was previously raced by Greg Biffle at California last October. In that race, Biffle started 14th and finished 14th.

QUOTES

Braun, on racing at California Speedway: “The finish at Daytona was obviously not what we were hoping for, but it certainly was not for lack of effort. My guys worked so hard through out that entire race. Knowing how much effort they put into what they do gives me that much more confidence as a driver that we can get the job done with a good finish. I think we can do that this weekend at California. I love the fact that you can race all over the track there because of the multiple grooves. If your car doesn’t work one place, it might work better somewhere else. It’s also a track where Roush Fenway has success in all three series’ and I think this No. 16 team can continue that trend this weekend.”

Crew chief Eddie Pardue, on the secret to success at California Speedway: “California is a racetrack where good handling, great aerodynamics, and a strong engine are all needed to have a fast car. It’s also a place where you have to keep up with the racetrack by making smart adjustments throughout the course of the afternoon to maintain the car’s balance. And as always, you need to have quick, mistake free pit stops because just hundreths of a second on a stop can mean the difference between first and second place. I believe we have all the pieces and I’m hopeful we can put them together for a solid finish this weekend.”

canceled due to rain, Carl Edwards and his team looked to take the No.
60 Fastenal Ford Fusion to victory lane and capture the first win for
2010. For most of the afternoon, Edwards battled fellow NASCAR Sprint
Cup regulars Dale Earnhardt Jr, Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick and Kyle
Busch for the top spot.

“It was a wild race, we had a strong car, and I just tried to make it
last to the end,” said Edwards, who drove in the top 10 during the
majority of the race. “I got tangled with Brad there, and I’m glad that
everyone came out alright. It was a hard fight to the finish with Tony
being so unbelievable. A great start to the season for the points. We’re
here to win a championship. My guys did a really good job with the car.”

The afternoon had a slow start with a smattering of cautions early on in
the first 10 laps. On lap 43, Edwards came down pit road for a routine
pit stop. The crew made a slight air pressure and wedge adjustment.
Edwards went back out in 22nd position and quickly was running back into
the top 10 by lap 51. By the halfway point of the race Edwards was in
the third position.

At lap 68, the yellow flag flew once again after a wreck that involved
NASCAR newcomer Danica Patrick. Under this caution, crew chief Mike
Kelley brought the team together to bring the car into the pits to fill
up with fuel and put on four fresh tires. On the restart Edwards was
leading the field. On lap 91 Edwards and Brad Keselowski briefly made
contact causing Dale Earnhardt Jr. to flip onto his roof and set off a
series of other reactions. Edwards sustained slight damage on the right
front of his Ford Fusion. Once pit road opened the No. 60 crew quickly
added four fresh tires and made a slight repair to the front. Exiting
pit road Edwards was scored in 15th position.

Having eight laps to go on lap 112, Edwards had moved up to the fourth
position. Edwards was able to shorten the distance between he and race
leader Tony Stewart. Time fell short at the end and Edwards finished in
the second position.

RAYBESTOS® ROOKIE CONTENDER QUOTES FOR THE DRIVE4COPD 300 NASCAR NATIONWIDE SERIES RACE AT DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2010, PAGE 1.

COLIN BRAUN, No. 16 CON-WAY FREIGHT FORD: WHAT HAPPENED? “I don’t really know. I was just in a bad spot I guess. That 61 car was moving around a little bit and everybody was trying to keep him put in the middle and he just moved where I didn’t expect him to go and I guess I bumped into him and that was that. It was a tough break for everybody on that No. 16 Con-way Freight Ford Fusion car.”

DID IT SEEM LIKE IT WAS JUST A MATTER OF TIME THE WAY THE CARS WERE DANCING AROUND OUT THERE? “Yeah, everybody was moving around and you had some cars that probably shouldn’t have been where they were with that whole pit sequence mix-up. I guess that’s part of racing here.” HOW WAS YOUR CAR TODAY? “I really struggled there that first run. We made an adjustment to my car and then it was a lot better there towards the end. I thought we were going to be in good shape but oh well [smile].”

RICKY STENHOUSE JR., No. 6 CITIFINANCIAL FORD: WHAT HAPPENED? “I couldn’t see quite well [smiles]. I saw a lot of smoke and just tried to get it whoaed down and couldn’t get on the brakes hard enough to get it stopped. Somebody came across the right front and got us. Tore the car up pretty bad but I kind of put us back there when I overshot the pit stall on that last pit sequence that we had and kind of put us in a bad spot. Had a lot of fun out there and it was a blast out there racing around and cars were moving around. We were making adjustments on our CitiFinancial Ford Fusion and seem to be pretty well, seemed to be driving good and was looking forward to making it to the end ‘cause felt like our Roush Yates Engines that we had really pulled up off the corner. I felt like if we could have made it to the end we would have had a shot at a good finish but oh well.”

COMMENT ON THE CARS MOVING AROUND OUT THERE IN THE DRAFT. DOES IT SEEM LIKE IT’S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMETHING LIKE THAT HAPPENS? “You’re just waiting on it. I felt like I was in pretty good control of my car and you could see the other cars, some of ‘em were in control and some of ‘em weren’t. You’re behind them and there’s really nothing you can do except to ride around and hope you get by ‘em. We missed one wreck early and just didn’t miss that one.”

BUESCHER: “Not a bad run at all. Can’t say enough about everybody at the shop. I broke first and second gear going into the first pit stop, burned the clutch up leaving the first pit stop then we come in for the next pit stop, ripped third gear out of it so the rest of the race all we had was fourth gear. When everybody came to pit there at the end there was no prayer that we could ‘cause all we had was fourth [smiles]. I was surprised the drivetrain held together the whole race and we finished eighth. We restarted in fourth gear those last five or six restarts and made it through all the wrecks. I only got one scratch on the car when I hit the wall on pit road when I overshot the pit box. Everything that went wrong was all my fault today but we still rallied back and got us a top-10 finish.”

HOW MANY CLOSE CALLS DID YOU HAVE? “A lot. Junior was flying out my windshield. I had a big sigh of relief and then again when Kyle [Busch] wrecked at the end I’d just moved to the top line and he started spinning. I felt like every wreck was right around me. My heart was pounding for a lot of ‘em.”

DID YOU GET ANY DRAFTING HELP TODAY? “Not by one particular car. The 43 stuck with me at the beginning of the race for a long time. The car wouldn’t suck up real, real great like we needed it to but it would suck up better with somebody pushing me and it was a rare occasion that somebody was pushing me at the same time I was trying to push somebody else. Just stuck with it all day and patience got me there at the end.”

HOW IMPORTANT IS IT TO GET SOME MOMENTUM HERE AT THE START OF THE SEASON? “It’s definitely important especially towards the Raybestos Rookie of the Year thing. I started off the season bad at Daytona last year with the wreck [Camping World Truck Series] and never rallied back, never led the rookie of the year points and today I’m the top finishing rookie. There’s definitely a lot of momentum that goes into the whole deal and finishing fourth last week in the ARCA race with this team and finishing eighth today, it’s a pretty good start to the year.”

BUESCHER PRESS CONFERENCE

“I’m definitely pleased with our performance. The 1 car was pretty good at the start of the race. We started 11th on points. Everything was going smooth and green flag stops, pit stop went pretty smooth for right-side tires and came out of the pits next time we pitted, I don’t know what, eight or 10 laps later under caution for four tires, going into the pits I didn’t have first or second gear and then leaving the pits I burned the clutch up. I was left with just third and fourth gear and the next pit stop burned third gear up trying to leave the pits so luckily we didn’t have to pit anymore ‘cause all I had left for the last third of the race was only fourth gear. Definitely really pleased with everybody at Phoenix Racing. It’s a good start to the year to come home eight and actually finish the race with every problem that we had with the drivetrain and everything and avoided a lot of big wrecks so I’m pretty pleased.”

WHAT IS YOUR SPONSORSHIP SITUATION? DO YOU HAVE FUNDING FOR ALL OF THE RACES? “On the sponsorship situation, Miccosukee is gone. The Phoenix Racing Team in the Nationwide Series is still full speed ahead. We’re committed to go to every race and James Finch is committed that for me. We’re still searching for sponsorship but we will be at every race trying to win Raybestos Rookie of the Year and finish up in the top-five, top-10 in points.”

BRIAN SCOTT, No. 11 STOPREPAIRBILLS.COM TOYOTA: “It was tough from the start, having to start in the rear of the field, it just makes you more liable to get on those wrecks that happen early on when everybody is bunched up. First race of the season everybody is ancy, nobody really knows what to do I think and people tend to make more stupid mistakes. Unfortunately when they wrecked pretty early on we got clipped. We got involved in it. We took a little bit of damage. We came down pit road and the Stop Repair Bills guys they fixed it up and got it back pretty pristine. Any wreck can be detrimental on a superpspeedway and they made it able to go back out there and still be pretty competitive. Of course with any damage you’re never as good as you are and we suffered a little bit and people just don’t want to work with a tore up race car and that led us all the way to the end. We’ll take it. We’ve just got to get the checkered flags right now to try to build points after the first five races and just keep clicking away. Top-20 this week, maybe it’ll be a top-15 next and then top-10 and top-five by the time we’re rolling into this year’s points. We’re looking forward to it.”
