2012 NNS Dollar General 300 First Practice Session Speeds

No. 33 Rheem / Menards Chevrolet Impala Kevin Harvick, with a lap speed of 181.488 mph, was the quickest during the first NNS Dollar General 300 practice session at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender, Austin Dillon, was second quickest with a lap speed of 181.068 mph, and was followed by Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. (180.180 mph) who was third quickest, Denny Hamlin (180.168) fourth and Kyle Busch (180.102) was fifth quickest. Another rookie contender, Cole Whitt (179.862 mph) was the sixth quickest, while the current series points leader, Elliott Sadler (179.480) was seventh quickest, Joey Logano (179.360) eighth, Brian Scott (179.295) ninth and Brad Keselowski (179.277) rounding out the top-ten quickest during the practice session.
