Matt Kenseth, with a qualifying lap speed of 183.243 mph, captured the NSCS GEICO 400 Coors Light Pole Award at Chicagoland Speedway.

This was Kenseth’s second series pole of 2011, his sixth series career pole and his first series pole at Chicagoland Speedway.

Starting second on the outside pole, and with a qualifying lap speed of 183.125 mph, will be Paul Menard, followed by Kurt Busch (183.032) starting from third, Ryan Newman (183.007) starting fourth and Carl Edwards (182.914) will start fifth.

Rounding out the top-ten starting positions will be Brad Keselowski (182.859) starting in sixth, Greg Biffle (182.648) seventh, Brian Vickers (182.587) eighth, Kyle Busch (182.340) ninth and Joey Logano (182.309) will start from tenth.

Failing to make the starting lineup were the #55 driven by Travis Kvapil; #95 driven by David Starr; #35 driven by Stephen Leicht and the #60 driven by Mike Skinner.

Worse GEICO 400 Qualifying Result Among the Chase for the Championship Contenders: Current series points leader, Kevin Harvick, qualified 30th.

The GEICO 400 is scheduled to get underway around 2:20 PM (EDT) Sunday afternoon (weather permitting, as the National Weather Service is calling for 60% chance of bad weather to begin after 1:00 PM and increase to 80% chance by night time) and ESPN will begin their pre-race coverage at 1:00 PM (EDT).
