None of those events made Brian Rose — who was suspended by NASCAR for six years for violation of its substance abuse policy — reach what addicts term the “moment of clarity.”
“They say you have to hit a point in life where everybody has a bottom,” said Rose, who will attempt to qualify Friday for Saturday’s ARCA Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway. “At some point, you’re going to have to say, ‘I’m done living like this. This is not who I want to be and this is how I want to live my life.’ That’s what it took.”
No, it was a conglomeration of things, all of which happened over a 10-month span from August 2002 to June 2003 that enabled Rose to hit rock-bottom.
