AVONDALE, AZ - After a highly positive response at Daytona, Faith Motorsports will continue its support of The Salvation Army this weekend at Phoenix.

The Salvation Army’s “Red Shield” and “Doing The Most Good” motto will be on the hood of Brett Rowe’s #55 Chevrolet Impala SS during Saturday’s Bashas’ Supermarkets 200 at Phoenix International Raceway. Morgan Shepherd will drive the Racing With Jesus #89 Chevy this weekend at Phoenix, a reversal from last week’s season-opener at Daytona where Shepherd’s car bore logos of The Salvation Army. The team is donating the advertising space to the popular charity in an effort to increase public awareness about the needs and programs of The Salvation Army.

“We truly enjoyed having The Salvation Army group with us at Daytona starting with church services and all through the weekend.” said Shepherd. “It is truly an honor, and we feel like we can continue to assist them. The two kids from The Salvation Army youth ministry really surprised me with how much they knew about NASCAR for a 10- and 12-year-old. It really felt good to give them that opportunity.”

The Salvation Army’s Major Austruberto Flores and Youth Director Jonathan Renfroe were accompanied by 12-year-old Digonae Smith and 10-year-old Kevante Caldwell, both of The Salvation Army youth ministry. The four were personal guests of Shepherd during last weekend‘s Drive4COPD 300 events at Daytona.

Digonae and Kevante sat in The Salvation Army #89 race car on pit road during pre-race activities and on the pit box with crew chief David Ingram and Shepherd’s wife, Cindy, during the race.
