David Gilliland, with a speed of 187.219 mph, posted the fastest speed, while Jeff Fuller (186.513) was second fastest, Raybestos Rookie contender Terry Cook (185.563) was third fastest, Derrike Cope (184.657) fourth, Michael McDowell (184.204) fifth, Kirk Shelmerdine (183.966) sixth, Mike Wallace (182.341) seventh and Norm Benning (179.759) rounds out the eight drivers.
