Filed under Nationwide Series, Press Releases

Concord, NC (September 9, 2011) – Ronnie Russell, President of Team Rensi Motorsports has become the majority owner of the team effective September 1, 2011.

TRM’s previous majority shareholder and founder, Ed Rensi has been devoting his time to his new and rapidly growing business, Tom & Eddies, a Chicago area based restaurant company. “Ronnie has done an outstanding job with our company for the last 10 years and it’s time for me to move on to my new ventures and let Ronnie take the company to the next level” states Rensi. “Ronnie will continue to have my complete support when he needs it; however I am confident he can do everything he needs to do without me.”

“Ed remains an inspiration to the team and to me and I cannot thank him enough for his support and confidence over the years” said Ronnie Russell.

Russell who has worked with Ed since the company’s birth is thankful for the opportunity and business acumen passed down by Rensi. He is excited to be at the helm of his own team. “There have been so many changes in our sport the last few years and sponsors are looking for integrated relationship with all of their marketing partners.” said Russell. “We are confident going forward our program will be attractive to the companies that are currently in auto racing now or are looking to “step in” for the first time. We have a lot to offer a partner both on and off track. We have a proven history of delivering results to our sponsors providing measurable return on objectives and are capable of ‘ringing the register’ for them.”

Gary Weisbaum, minority shareholder in the team will continue to assist Russell and the team in helping sponsors develop unique activation programs to insure a significant return on their motorsports investment.
