Richmond, VA (April 27, 2010)—Richmond International Raceway, in partnership with InStadiumSolutions (“ISS”), is implementing a text-message based communication system at this weekend’s NASCAR doubleheader. The service, which debuted at America’s Premier Short Track in 2009, will again be used at this weekend’s BUBBA burger 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race and Crown Royal Presents The Heath Calhoun 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race.

The text messaging system allows fans to communicate directly with the track’s command post if assistance is needed in dealing with any special needs inside the facility.  The service is being provided at all International Speedway Corporation facilities.

“In our continuing efforts to provide thrilling and safe guest experiences, we are pleased to once again offer this innovative technology at Richmond International Raceway this weekend,” said track president Doug Fritz. “It further demonstrates our focus on providing a safe, enjoyable and unforgettable race experience for our guests. The text messaging system allows fans to communicate instantly with our command center and receive immediate assistance at their location.  We are glad to work with ISS on this important customer service initiative for all our race fans.”

“After our successful trial run last year, InStadiumSolutions is thrilled to return to Richmond International Raceway and give their fans the ability to report, within seconds, unruly fans, medical emergencies and any other track issues directly to the venue’s command center,” said ISS Vice President of Sales and Marketing Scott Meyers. “We know the track is always looking to improve the guest experience and our Fan Text Messaging System will help do just that.”

Texting instructions will be placed prominently throughout each facility via static signage and will be regularly broadcast through audio and video public announcements.
