STEVE WALLACE / 5-HOUR ENERGY RACING NEWS AND NOTES:

BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY

5-Hour Energy Team News and Notes

· This Week’s 5 Hour Energy Toyota … Steve Wallace will pilot Rusty Wallace Racing chassis RWR-058 in Friday night’s Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway. A workhorse of the 2011 season, this Toyota Camry raced at Auto Club Speedway in March, Nashville Superspeedway in April, and twice in the month of May, at Darlington Raceway and Charlotte Motor Speedway. Most recently, Wallace raced this chassis to a 14th-place finish at Michigan International Speedway in June.

· Through 24 Races … With 24 races of the 2011 season in the record books, Wallace has accumulated two top-five, five top 10 and 12 top-15 finishes, an average starting position of 13.4 and an average finish of 15.9. Wallace has completed 97.7 percent of the laps contested (4,202 of 4,302) thus far.

· Get to the Points … Wallace is currently ranked eighth in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driver point standings, 38 in arrears to seventh-place driver Kenny Wallace. Over the last two weeks, the 24-year-old driver has shaved 28 points off his deficit to his uncle.

· A Place of Firsts … Wallace scored his first pole award at Bristol in 2007. It came in his 24th career start. Wallace led 32 laps before being involved in an incident.

· Wallace at Bristol … In 10 previous Nationwide Series starts at Bristol Motor Speedway, Wallace has recorded two top-10 finishes and has led 35 laps.

· Welcome Aboard … 5-Hour Energy Racing welcomes Food City as a partner for this weekend’s race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Food City branding will adorn the TV panel of Wallace’s No. 66 Toyota in Friday evening’s race.

· Last Time Out … Wallace was able to overcome a pit road penalty and a mid-race spin to record a fourth-place finish in last Saturday afternoon’s NAPA Auto Parts 200 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. In a field stacked with road course ringers, the finish was the best amongst full-time NASCAR Nationwide Series competitors.

· Speaking of Montreal … Wallace heads to Bristol on the strength of his career-best finish. Wallace gave his father’s team their 57th NASCAR Nationwide Series top-five finish.

· Rusty Wallace Racing at Bristol … In 29 starts at the .533-mile Tennessee bullring, Rusty Wallace Racing boasts two top-five and 12 top-10 finishes with five different drivers including Jeremy Mayfield, Jamie McMurray, David Stremme, Kenny Wallace and Steve Wallace. Rusty Wallace Racing Toyotas have completed 9,179 of 9,579 laps attempted, and have been atop the leaderboard for 19 laps with drivers Michael Annett, Jason Bowles, David Reutimann and Steve Wallace.

· A New Look for Toyota … Toyota introduced the completely redesigned 2012 Camry on Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Camry, best-selling car in America for nine years running and 13 of the last 14 years, is designed to meet the needs of the 21st century driver and will provide technologically advanced features, a contemporary design inside and out, improved performance and fuel efficiency, and refined ride and handling. The all-new Camry and Camry Hybrid will arrive at Toyota dealerships this fall. To align the race cars more closely with the new production car, Toyota will unveil a new manufacturer decal package on their cars beginning this weekend at Bristol.
