(October 23, 2010) – Brad Keselowski, driver of the Penske Racing No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Charger in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, picked up his sixth win of 2010 in the 5-Hour Energy 250 at Gateway International Raceway (GIR) on Saturday afternoon. The win is the second-consecutive Nationwide Series win for the Penske Racing driver. Keselowski and teammate Justin Allgaier combined to lead 171 of the 200 laps in the last race at the 1.25-mile oval just outside of St. Louis, Mo.

Keselowski continues to lead the Nationwide Series driver point standings by 485 points over second-place contender Carl Edwards.

Parker Kligerman practiced and qualified the Discount Tire Dodge while Keselowski attended to his Cup Series duties in Martinsville, Va. Kligerman qualified the car in the 20th position with a lap of 33.840 seconds, or 132.979 mph, during the Saturday morning time trials. However, with the driver change, Keselowski was forced to start the race from the 41st position.

When the green flag fell to start the race it was evident that Keselowski had a car that he could drive to the front of the field. By lap 11, he was running in the 20th position while turning laps as fast as the race leader Allgaier. Keselowski radioed to crew chief Paul Wolfe that his car was tight while in traffic and he needed to be better on the entry of the corners. When the first caution flag of the day fell on lap 47, with Keselowski firmly inside the top 10, Wolfe called for wedge and air pressure adjustments. The Discount Tire Dodge driver restarted the race from the eighth position on lap 52.

Keselowski maintained one of the fastest cars on the track following the initial pit stop. He stated that the No. 22 Dodge needed to turn better in the center of Turns 3 and 4. When another caution flag flew on lap 75, Wolfe called for a two-tire pit stop. This strategy placed Keselowski in the lead for the restart on lap 80. He led the race until lap 110, when he briefly gave up the lead for only four laps before returning to the top spot on lap 114. A very fast green-flag pit stop by the No. 22 pit crew on lap 156 kept Keselowski at the front of the field.

Allgaier was able to make his way around Keselowski for the lead on lap 176 before the final caution flag of the day flew on lap 190. As the leaders made their way down pit road for their final stop, Wolfe elected to change all four tires instead of taking two tires like several other competitors. As a result, Keselowski restarted the race in the sixth position on lap 197. While it looked like a sure win would slip through his grasp, Keselowski was able to will his No. 22 Dodge to the outside of each car in front of him to secure his first victory at the GIR oval.

With the finish, Keselowski extends his NASCAR record with his 98th consecutive Nationwide Series race without a DNF (Did Not Finish).

Penske Racing teammate Justin Allgaier finished in third position.

“Thirteen months ago, when Discount Tire called me and wanted me to drive this car, I knew it was going to be something special, but I didn’t know that it was going to be this good,” said Keselowski. “Thanks to everyone at Discount Tire, Ruby Tuesday, Dodge and Penske Racing. To get another win for Roger and finally get this Gateway win, in the final race at this race track here in Illinois, is awesome.”

The No.22 Discount Tire Dodge Charger team will enjoy an off weekend before heading to Texas Motor Speedway for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge. The race can be seen live on Saturday, November 6, on ESPN2 beginning at Noon EDT. The event can also be heard live on PRN Radio, as well as Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 128.

Reed Sorenson (sixth) and Brad Coleman (eighth) also earned top-10 finishes at the 1.25-mile track located outside of St. Louis.

St. Louis-native Kenny Wallace finished 13th in a Toyota race car prepared for his Jay Robinson Racing team by his brother’s team, Rusty Wallace Racing.

Other Toyota drivers in the field included Steve Wallace (12th), Ryan Truex (15th), Michael Annett (21st), Matt DiBenedetto (24th), Brendan Gaughan (26th), Brad Sweet (31st), Scott Wimmer (32nd) and Kevin Lepage (39th).

JASON LEFFLER, No. 38 Great Clips Toyota Camry, Braun Racing Finished: 4th

How exciting were the final laps of the Gateway race? “It was pretty wild. We had two (tires), guys behind us had four and the 32 (Reed Sorenson) had none. We all met there in the middle, especially off of (turn) two. The guys on the 38 car did a great job. We still have brake problems. My car is really good, but without that issue the brake problem we could have contended for the win here. I just had to slow down and run my pace and I couldn’t really run any faster than what I could run otherwise I would the rear brakes would lock up and I’d be in trouble. The guys did a great job on pit road. They did an awesome job. It was a clean race really for us. We get some of this stuff fixed and we’ll be up front all the time.”

REED SORENSON, No. 32 Dollar General Toyota Camry, Braun Racing Finished: 6th

How was your race? “I really thought we had a chance there. This back up car didn’t see the track until our qualifying lap this morning. After qualifying 10th, I thought we’d be good but we fought a bad front-end bounce and a tight condition all race. The Dollar General guys never gave up and made a ton of adjustments every chance we had. I couldn’t talk to the team at least the last 50 laps or so because something was wrong with my radio. Those last laps I raced as hard as I could to keep the lead but couldn’t quite do it on our older tires. It was a long and challenging day but we fought hard for this top-10.”

BRAD COLEMAN, No. 18 Shore Lodge Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing Finished: 8th

STEVE WALLACE, No. 66 5-Hour Energy Toyota Camry, Rusty Wallace Racing Finished: 12th

KENNY WALLACE, No. 28 Illinois Corn Farmers Toyota Camry, Jay Robinson Racing with Rusty Wallace Racing Finished: 13th

How was your race? “We had an eighth to tenth-place car and on the last pit stop under green we had a horrible pit stop. It was a bad time for a bad pit stop. We came into the pits 12th and went out 16th under green. That hurt us.”

Did you enjoy today’s race with the car that Rusty Wallace Racing provided? “It was fun for me to be able to race for a top-10 cold turkey. I guess we could have tested, we never tested. It was fun to pass people and race. Obviously I’m a competitor and I don’t feel like — my problem is I don’t feel like I’ve lost anything. A finish of 13th is a little disappointing.”

What are your thoughts on this final race at Gateway? “It was a great race. It couldn’t have been any better. I was within three spots of accomplishing my goal which was a top-10. I just hope the St. Louis people and everybody in the area, I hope they miss this race. I’m sure 20 years from now we’ll all look back and think one time we had a NASCAR race here, it’s a bummer we don’t have one anymore.”

RYAN TRUEX, No. 99 Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota Camry, Diamond-Waltrip Racing Finished: 15th

How was your race? “We started off good. We got up and were running up there near the top-10. We were working on the car, trying to make it better. I ended up cutting down a left rear (tire) and then we were just playing catch up from there. I could never get back up there. At the end there we just kind of got trapped a lap down and couldn’t really do anything with it. A finish of 15th isn’t bad but I think we could have done better.”

MICHAEL ANNETT, No. 15 Pilot Flying J Coffee Toyota Camry, Germain Racing Finished: 21st

MATT DIBENEDETTO, No. 20 Bosch Spark Plugs Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing Finished: 24th

BRENDAN GAUGHAN, No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino Toyota Camry, Rusty Wallace Racing Finished: 26th

What happened to take you out of the race? “I have no clue what happened on the last wreck. I was so far behind it. I had our Camry wowed down and then somebody got us from behind. St. Louis is a fun race track, it’s just tough on that front straightaway. Whoever started it, it’s just narrow. I thought I had it wowed down and got hit. That’s just kind of one of the bummers of racing here but it’s a great track, we’re going to miss it.”

BRAD SWEET, No. 11 Great Clips Toyota Camry, Braun Racing Finished: 31st

What happened to take you out of the race? “Just the hole closed up there on the front stretch. I don’t even know what happened up there in the front. I came up before it and cars were going everywhere and I just locked up the brakes. I tried not to make any contact but too many cars came together at one time. It was too bad, the Great Clips car was just starting to get going there. It was half way and we got our car handling a little better and I thought we were going to be competitive there at the end.”

SCOTT WIMMER, No. 10 AccuDoc Solutions Toyota Camry, Braun Racing Finished: 32nd

What happened to take you out of the race and are you okay? “Yeah, I’m fine. I have to thank Turner Motorsports and everybody that put this deal together. It was a pretty last minute deal. We didn’t qualify well and we got ourselves in pretty good track position there and were fighting real hard. I got loose and got tagged from behind. That’s what happens here, it’s tight coming off of (turn) four there. It’s going to be sad leaving this place. I ran first ASA race down here in 2000. I have to thank all these fans for coming out.”

KEVIN LEPAGE, No. 56 RaceDaySponsor.com Toyota Camry, Mac Hill Motorsports Finished: 39th

MADISON, Ill. – After losing the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers 250 200 yards from the finish line at Gateway International Raceway in July, it was fitting that Brad Keselowski drove his No. 22 Penske Racing Dodge to Victory Lane on Saturday in the 5-Hour ENERGY 250.

He swapped the race lead with his teammate and event polesitter Justin Allgaier late in the race, but was able to pull ahead in the final six-lap stretch after a late-race caution. Allgaier, a native of Riverton, Ill. and an area fan favorite, finished third, while former Camping World Truck Series champion Mike Bliss took runner-up honors. Jason Leffler and three-time GIR NASCAR Nationwide Series winner Carl Edwards rounded out the top five.

Despite the final straightaway bump from Edwards during the race here in July, Keselowski said in Victory Lane that he had moved on. “I try not to hold grudges. I try not to think of that and just focus on our next race. That was key about winning today. You can’t panic about what happened in the last race. You have to move forward and move on with your life. Our team did that today.”

Allgaier won the pole with a speed of 135.131 mph, circling the 1.25-mile in 33.301 seconds earlier in the day and appeared to be the class of the field during the 200-lap race. A call on pit road for four tires after the sixth and final caution, however, doomed the No. 12 Dodge team’s chances for a victory in the final NASCAR event at Gateway.

“I guess the fastest car doesn’t always win the race,” he said from pit road afterwards. ”The Verizon Dodge Charger was awesome today and we had the car to beat. We just made a bad pit call late and it cost us. It stinks to come to your hometown, run so good and not get the win. A great run, but it should have been a better result. These guys put a great race car underneath me today.

“It’s too bad.”

A bad pit stop also affected St. Louis native Kenny Wallace, driving a car sponsored by the Illinois Corn Farmers and prepared by his brother’s team, Rusty Wallace Racing. “Herm” ran in the top 15 for most of the race after qualifying 19th and moved up as high as eighth, but a slow effort in the pits eventually led to a 13th-place finish for the driver most identified as the face of St. Louis in NASCAR circles.

“We had an eighth- to tenth-place car and on the last pit stop under green, we had a horrible pit stop,” Wallace said. “It was a bad time for a bad pit stop. We came into the pits 12th and went out 16th under green. That hurt us.”

Wallace has worked with Gateway since the track began hosting NASCAR in 1997, culminating with the naming of the south-side grandstands after him and his brothers Rusty and Mike Wallace in 2005. Of all the drivers who have raced here, it is Kenny who, more than anyone, wanted to finish his career with a win at his home track.

“I just hope the St. Louis people and everybody in the area…I hope they miss this race. I’m sure 20 years from now, we’ll all look back and think, ‘One time we had a NASCAR race here; it’s a bummer we don’t have one anymore.’”

The race ran reasonably smooth with six cautions for 26 laps, but a huge wreck on the frontstretch at Lap 105 damaged a total of ten cars and forced a red flag lasting more than 20 minutes. Taken out in the wreck was Scott Wimmer, driving the No. 10 car for Turner Motorsports and looking for a unique piece of Gateway history: Wimmer is the only driver to earn a top-ten here with four different manufacturers (Pontiac, Chevrolet, Dodge, and Ford). A top-ten finish Saturday in his Toyota would have bumped that stat to five.

Much of the media focus prior to the race was on JR Motorsports driver, Danica Patrick, who finished tenth in the IndyCar Series after running a full season with that sanctioning body. After struggling throughout the race from the 41st starting spot, the Roscoe, Ill. native eventually finished the day 22nd, 17 laps down.

The 5-Hour ENERGY 250 victory was Keselowski’s sixth of the NASCAR Nationwide Series 2010 season and widens the gap over Carl Edwards in the series’ points’ battle to 485 points. While Allgaier led the most laps of the race with 88, Keselowski’s Dodge was stout, leading four times for 83 laps.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series has next weekend off and returns to action in two weeks at Texas Motor Speedway. Fans can see the race live on ESPN2.

Race fans can follow all the action throughout the season at Gateway International Raceway on its official Twitter site at Twitter.com/GatewayRaceway and its official page on Facebook, Facebook.com/GatewayRaceway.

“MacDonald Motorsports is again very pleased to continue our partnership with Iconosys, Inc. and to have Drive Reply™ on my car for this weekend’s 5-Hour Energy 250,” commented McDowell. “It’s going to be another huge weekend for NASCAR and equally as important, we are sending a special message to racing fans everywhere as well as my Facebook friends and my followers on Twitter: distracted driving is highly dangerous so don’t text and drive.”

(October 21, 2010) - 2010 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) Champion Bobby Santos will return to the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) this weekend at Gateway International Raceway. Santos will practice and setup the No. 81 Drive Reply-K-Love Dodge for MacDonald Motorsports for the 5-hour Energy 250, as driver Michael McDowell will be competing in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) events at Martinsville Speedway. Depending on McDowell’s NSCS schedule, Santos may also qualify the car. With 49 cars on the entry list, the team will look to Santos to utilize his experience to make the show. this will be a hard feat.

Santos, who became the youngest driver to win a NWMT championship, made four NNS starts with Riley-D’Hondt Motorsports in 2007. Three of the four starts were at short tracks, including the similar-sized Nashville Superspeedway. Santos qualified in the top-10 for two of the four starts, with a highest start of fourth. He also made eight ARCA Racing Series starts and collected two poles, with a highest finish of fourth. This year, the 25-year-old collected four wins, four poles, nine top-five and 11 top-10 finishes in the NWMT 14-race schedule.

MacDonald Motorsports competed in 30 NNS events this year with the No. 81 Dodge. Their highest finish this season was a 10th-place finish at Watkins Glen International with McDowell behind the wheel. The team’s highest starting position was fifth at Road America. McDowell will look to make his 24th NSCS start this weekend at Martinsville Speedway.

“Michael is racing in the Cup race at Martinsville,” explained MacDonald Motorsports owner Randy MacDonald. “Based on his schedule and the distance, Michael will not be able to make practice. Gateway is just over a mile track and there are 49 cars entered, so we needed someone who could get the car dialed in and possibly qualify it, depending on how Michael’s schedule ends up going. We want to be as completive as possible and get the car as fast as possible. If the driver needs to get it in the race, we have to have a good level of confidence that they can make the race. We started throwing names out for subs. Bobby has some ARCA and Nationwide experience. He’s familiar with that style of racetrack and the cars, and he’s pretty hot right now, coming off the championship and winning four races and four poles. He was available and willing, so it was a perfect fit.”

“It is exciting that I will get to practice for somebody this weekend,” commented Santos. “I am hoping that I can qualify it to see what I can do. I’m trying to make the best of this opportunity and see what it can lead to. It shows that people noticed what we did this year in the Whelen Modified Tour. I had one race left on my schedule, so when this opportunity came, I was very glad to take it and see what I can do.”

First practice for the 5-hour Energy 250 will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. CDT, with final practice from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. CDT. Final practice will be broadcast on ESPN2, as well as Saturday’s qualifying at 9:35 a.m. CDT. The 5-hour Energy 250 will begin at 2:30 p.m. CDT on Saturday, October 23rd and can also be found on ESPN2.

About Bobby Santos III

Bobby Santos III is a third generation driver, who has been racing since he was four years old. After running part-time in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour since 2004, this season Santos took home the 2010 Championship with four wins, four poles, 9 top-five and 11 top-10 finishes in the 14-race schedule.

The 25-year-old from Franklin, Mass. has driven 23 different styles of race cars, including USAC, ARCA, NASCAR Nationwide and Trucks, and the Modified car he currently races. Santos, a driver in the Heinke-Baldwin Racing driver development program, had one win, at Thompson International Speedway, in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour prior to this season.

“It is awesome to be in contention to win Raybestos Rookie of the Year,” said Stenhouse. “The award means so much to me, Jack (Roush) and everyone on this No. 6 team. Being in the lead is a testament to how hard all of the guys are working. We dug ourselves a big hole at the beginning of the year, but we are out of that hole and making big gains each week. I feel like I have improved on the race track and Mike (Kelley) has given me great Fords to race. We still have four races left and I am looking forward to continuing to race up front. We need to knock off more top five finishes and contend for a wins; this team is capable of doing that for sure.”

Catch Stenhouse and the No. 6 CitiFinancial team in the 5 Hour Energy 250 at Gateway International Raceway on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 23, 2010 with race coverage beginning at 3:00 p.m. EDT on ESPN2. Stenhouse finished ninth at Gateway earlier this season.

DODGE NATIONWIDE SERIES QUOTES

“There’s always a compromise at Gateway, and I’ve always been a believer in making the car better at one end (of the track) or the other. You know when the car unloads off the truck which corner you’re going to be better at. Turns 3 and 4 always seem to be where I hit it. It’s wider than the other end of the track, which lets you build a lot of speed to carry down the frontstretch. That being said, the last time we raced at Gateway, it seemed the cars that were able to get off Turn 2 better were at an advantage.”
Justin Allgaier, No. 12 Verizon Wireless Dodge Charger

“Gateway is an unique facility and it’s a shame that we will lose that uniqueness from the schedule next year. It took me a few years to get used to that place, but it turned into one of my favorite stops of the year. So now we are going to turn our attention to being the last Nationwide Series winner at Gateway. I was fortunate enough to be the last winner at Memphis (Motorsport Park). That is still one of my favorite wins. We obviously had a great car at Gateway in the spring, a car that should have won the race. Even though we don’t have that car anymore, I believe our stable of cars have gotten better since then anyway. We’ll have to come from the back, since I won’t make qualifying, but I’m confident in this No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge team that we can make that work.”
(October 20, 2010) – Joe Gibbs Racing driver Matt DiBenedetto will return to the NASCAR Nationwide Series circuit this weekend when he goes behind the wheel of the No. 20 Bosch Toyota at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, IL.

This will be the sixth and final Nationwide Series race of the season for DiBenedetto and also marks the first time that he will return to the same track twice in a season. Unfortunately for DiBenedetto the first trip did not end the way he had hoped as he was caught up in an accident with teammate Brad Coleman and forced to settle for a 29th-place finish.

In his five races thus far this season, DiBenedetto has claimed two top-ten finishes including a career-best ninth-place finish in his last outing at Iowa in late July.

This will mark the first race with Bosch on the No. 20 Nationwide Series Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing.

For more than a hundred years Bosch has engineered and supplied many of the parts and systems in the vehicles we drive, and has supported motorsports around the world to test and perfect its premium automotive products.

NASCAR is the most prominent automotive racing series today in America, and most race winners depend on Bosch components to make it to the finish line up front. Bosch provides powerful, specially made ‘surface air gap’ spark plugs that deliver a strong, reliable spark for hundreds of miles of high speed Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Series racing, and specially made racing alternators that are incredibly powerful and durable.

The 250-mile race from Gateway International Raceway will be televised by ESPN2 on Saturday, October 23 with coverage starting at 3 PM ET (race starts at 3:30 PM).

Matt DiBenedetto, No. 20 Bosch NASCAR Nationwide Series Toyota Camry at Gateway

Are you looking forward to getting back in the seat this weekend?

“I’m really excited to get back behind the wheel again this weekend. It feels like it has been such a long time, but I just work to stay in shape, remained focused and help the team however I can. It’s really cool to have Bosch on the car with us this weekend. They have been such a big part of racing for so long and hopefully we will get them a great finish on Saturday.”

Gateway will be the first track you will have the opportunity to return to, how will that help you?

“It should help a lot actually. We were running pretty well there in July before the accident with Brad so I’m looking forward to having another shot at it. It’s the first time I’ve had the chance to come back to a track so having that extra time and familiarity will be a big help when it comes to what line to run and just picking up small things that can help you during the race.”

Car Information

Chassis No. 2085: Last raced at ORP in 2009 with Brad Coleman behind the wheel. It was fast and qualified second but unfortunately an early accident limited it to a 16th-place finish. In 2008 it had five starts with two wins.

For the past two years, Colin Braun, driver of the No. 16 Con-way Freight Ford Fusion, has been the spokesperson for Ford Driving Skills for Life, a national program geared towards teaching teens the necessary skills for safe driving beyond what they learn in standard driver education programs. Braun talks about the importance of safe driving and offers some advice for those just learning to drive.

COLIN BRAUN – No. 16 Con-way Freight Ford Fusion – CAN YOU TALK ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF TEEN SAFE DRIVING? “It’s always important to be a safe driver and it’s kind of cool that they have a National Teen Safe Driving week. I hope that everybody takes the opportunity to check out the Ford Driving Skills for Life website and check out all of the cool courses and instructions and tips that they have on the website. I think it’s something that everybody should go and check out. It might really open up their eyes to a lot of things that are out there and available for them to teach them the importance of safe driving.”

WITH YOUR EXPERIENCE LEARNING HOW TO DRIVE IN A REAL WORLD SITUATION, WHAT ARE SOME TIPS THAT YOU CAN OFFER TO TEEN DRIVERS OUT THERE? “I think the biggest one is being distracted while you’re driving, that’s the biggest tip. I think everyone out there can drive a street car without much problem if they stay focused 100 percent on the task in front of the car. When you start texting, start talking with your friends, and eat in your car that’s when you get distracted and bad things happen.”

YOU’VE HAD YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE FOR A WHILE NOW. DOES CONFIDENCE BEHIND THE WHEEL GROW WITH TIME? “I definitely feel more comfortable behind the wheel, but at the same time feeling like you’re more comfortable behind the wheel can be misleading. It’s tough because the more you drive the more comfortable behind the wheel you get, but sometimes the more comfortable you get the easier it is to get distracted behind the wheel. Being distracted and driving is just as bad if you’re a new teenage driver or you’re an experienced driver. It’s actually a tough place to be. You almost have to be more disciplined the more experienced you are at driver.”

FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN’T VISITED THE FORD DRIVING SKILLS FOR LIFE WEBSITE BEFORE WHAT ARE SOME OF THE TOOLS ON THERE THEY CAN FIND? “The site is pretty cool and very interactive. It has learning modules, videos about safe driving tips and how to take care of your car, and interactive games. It’s really helpful for any driver to visit the site. DSFL also goes out and has these ride and drives where teens get a chance to go through this course to help them improve their skills in four area that are the cause of more than 60% of vehicle crashes such as hazard recognition, vehicle handling, speed management and space management. I’ve been a part of this program for the past two years now and have really enjoyed it. I think it’s great a way for teens to learn about the importance of safety on the roads.

(October 20, 2010) –Brad Coleman will pilot the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18 Shore Lodge Toyota in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Gateway International Speedway this Saturday.

Coleman will be making his sixth start of the season in the Joe Gibbs Racing Nationwide Series No. 18 Toyota. In his five previous starts this season, Coleman has two top-10 and four top-15 finishes. Unfortunately his lone finish outside of the top 15 was this season’s first race at Gateway when he and teammate Matt DiBenedetto got together in a hard crash.

Coleman will seek to keep Joe Gibbs Racing’s lead in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Owner’s Championship race alive as he and teammate Kyle Busch have teamed to give the No. 18 Nationwide Toyota team a 119 point lead with just four races remaining. The No. 18 team captured both the driver and owner’s championship in 2009.

Gateway will also mark the first time that Shore Lodge will be on the No. 18 Toyota. Shore Lodge is a full-service all season boutique hotel located on the southern end of the beautiful Payette Lake in the heart of McCall, Idaho. Since 1948, Shore Lodge has been a premier family vacation destination for people who want to enjoy all the activities of the mountain west.

The Gateway 250 from Gateway International Raceway will be televised live by ESPN2 on Saturday, October 23 with coverage starting at 3 PM ET (race starts at 3:30 PM ET).

Brad Coleman, No. 18 Shore Lodge NASCAR Nationwide Series Toyota Camry at Gateway

Are you looking forward to getting back in the car at Gateway this weekend?

“I am. Obviously our last time out there in July didn’t go the way that we had hoped so I’m glad we get another chance to get in the car and improve on our performance. I like running at Gateway and since it’s not on the schedule for next year it will be neat to be part of this race. It’s cool to have Shore Lodge on the car Saturday and we plan on giving them a great run.”

The 18 team is once again contending for an owner’s championship, how does it feel to be part of those efforts this year?

“Everyone in our Nationwide operations at JGR does such a great job week in and week out and I’m just glad to be part of this team. Jason (Ratcliff) and all the team guys on the 18 are awesome and you have a lot of confidence as a driver to know you will have a great car each time you get behind the wheel. Obviously Kyle has been awesome setting the record this season for most wins and I’m happy to be part of chasing down another championship for JGR.”

Car Information

Chassis No. 1880: Coleman will pilot chassis number 1880 on Saturday at Gateway. The car last ran at ORP in July with Kyle Busch behind the wheel. Busch steered it straight into Victory Lane with a dominating victory. Prior to that it ran at ORP in 2009 and despite having to start from the back of the field it was able to race to the front and lead 32 laps before earning a second-place finish.
