INDIANAPOLIS (May 22, 2010) – Conquest Racing’s Bertrand Baguette provisionally placed in the 24th spot in today’s Pole Day qualifying session for the 2010 Indianapolis 500.
Belgian Baguette took to the track about halfway through the session for his qualifying run. He registered a first lap of 223.999 mph and improved his speed each time he crossed the start/finish line with laps of 224.219 mph, 224.243 mph and 224.297 mph. His four lap average speed was 224.189 mph which initially placed him 19th.
By time the gun went off at 4 p.m. ET signaling the end of qualifying for positions 1 thru 24, Baguette was 24th.
