(November 19, 2011) - Richard Childress Racing’s Austin Dillon and his Danny Stockman-led Bass Pro Shops team ended their second year of full-time competition in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with a 10th-place finish in the season finale race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, allowing Dillon to clinch the 2011 Driver’s Championship for Bass Pro Shops and Richard Childress Racing’s black No. 3 Chevrolet team.

The accomplishment marks the second NCWTS championship for RCR, who earned the inaugural NCWTS series championship in 1995 with Mike Skinner, also in a No. 3 Chevrolet. The 42-year-old racing organization, headed by Dillon’s grandfather Richard Childress, now has 14 motorsports championships overall, spread across the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series, NCWTS and the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.

“It’s so special when you’re family,” said patriarch and team owner Richard Childress. “Our whole family is involved, and I remember the very first championship with Dale Earnhardt. I had the same feeling tonight watching Austin, my grandson. It’s just so special to have the family and know how hard all of them worked. Danny Stockman (crew chief), Bass Pro Shops, everybody on the No. 3 team did so much to help put it together. Austin kept it together so good under the pressure. For a 21-year-old guy, man, to be able to hang in there and do what he did was very special.”

Dillon, the 2010 NCWTS Rookie of the Year, becomes the first driver in the 11-year history of the NCWTS to earn the rookie title and then the driving championship the subsequent year. He also holds the honor of youngest champion to be crowned in the series’ history. Along with Ty Dillon, the 2011 ARCA Racing Series champion, the Dillon’s are the only brothers who have earned same-year championships on a national stock car tour.

“We definitely worked hard this year and accomplished this as a team,” said Dillon. “This was our goal at the beginning of the year and no one ever gave up. Danny Stockman and every member of the Bass Pro Shops team worked nonstop. We rebounded from so many little mistakes and unfortunate incidents this year-the hood flipping up at Kentucky Speedway, for example. It’s the way you react to the undesirable situations that show what a championship team is made of, and these guys reacted in all the right ways. This championship means so much to me and I’m thrilled to be able to represent my family, Richard Childress Racing, Bass Pro Shops and NASCAR as a champion.”

En route to the 2011 title, Dillon and his Danny Stockman-led Bass Pro Shops team celebrated in Victory Lane at Nashville Superspeedway and Chicagoland Speedway, posting an impressive five pole awards among 10 top-five and 16 top-10 finishes in 25 races. Dillon finished second on four separate occasions.

At 29-years-old, the 2011 championship marks crew chief Stockman’s first in only his second year as a crew chief. Prior to joining RCR in December 2009, he earned two championships (’07 and ’09) in the NCWTS as a truck chief at Kevin Harvick, Inc.

“Like Austin said, the last restart was quite gut wrenching,” added Stockman. “Just awesome to be a part of this deal with Richard, Mike, Austin and Tina, and everybody that just let me have this opportunity to be a part of it. Austin Dillon is just a great up-and-coming race car driver. I am just really happy to be a part of it. We have a heck of a good race team, and just got to thank everybody back at the shop for all their hard work.”

The nation’s No. 1 outdoor retail leader, Bass Pro Shops, was positioned as the primary partner on Dillon’s No. 3 Chevrolet for the duration of the 2010 and 2011 race seasons. A long-time RCR supporter, Bass Pro Shops began its association with Richard Childress Racing in 1998 with associate sponsorship of the No. 3 GM Goodwrench Chevrolet Monte Carlo made famous by seven-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Dale Earnhardt. Bass Pro Shops’ partnership with RCR has also included sponsorship of the No. 29 Chevrolet driven by Kevin Harvick and primary sponsorship of Earnhardt’s eldest son, Kerry Earnhardt, in RCR’s No. 33 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet for six Sprint Cup Series races in 2004. The company sponsored Ty Dillon for his season-finale race in the ARCA Racing Series this year.

“Congratulations to Austin from all of us at Bass Pro Shops, Tracker Marine and all our Tracker independent dealers,” said Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris. “Austin is a fine young man who loves racing, loves the outdoors and has a great future ahead of him. What a proud moment for Austin’s grandparents Richard and Judy Childress and his mom and dad Mike and Tina Dillon.”

Dillon joins an exclusive list of NCWTS driving champions, including Todd Bodine, Ron Hornaday, Jr., Johnny Benson, Ted Musgrave, Bobby Hamilton, Travis Kvapil, Mike Bliss, Jack Sprague, Greg Biffle and Mike Skinner. He will be formally honored at the annual NNS and NCWTS Awards Banquet at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel on Monday, Nov. 21. SPEED will broadcast the banquet on Friday, Dec. 2 from 7-9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

(Photo Credit: Jared C. Tilton / Getty Images for NASCAR)

HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Austin Dillon – driver of the No. 3 Bass Pro Shops / Tracker Boats Silverado and grandson of team owner Richard Childress – is the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion, clinching Team Chevy’s 11th series driver’s title with a 10th-place finish in the rain-shortened, season-ending Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Friday.

“Everyone at Chevrolet is extremely proud of Austin Dillon’s accomplishment this year,” said Jim Campbell, Chevrolet U.S. Vice President of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports. “Throughout his young career, he has proven himself to be a very talented driver. After winning the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rookie of Year in his 2010 debut, to come back and win the championship this year clearly demonstrates the bright future Austin has in NASCAR.

“We are very proud of our long partnership with Richard Childress Racing and couldn’t be more pleased to be a part of every victory and every championship Richard’s teams have won.”

Dillon, 21, led the series with five poles, and added two wins, 10 top-fives and 16 top-10s in 25 races this season.

Dillon, who carried a 20-point lead into the season finale’, is the sixth Team Chevy driver to win the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship, joining Ron Hornaday Jr. (2009, 2007, 1998 and 1996), Jack Sprague (2001, 1999, and 1997), Travis Kvapil (2003), Mike Bliss (2002) and Mike Skinner (1995).

This is Childress’ second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship; Mike Skinner won the first in the series’ inaugural season, 1995 – also in the No. 3. Childress also won six NASCAR Sprint Cup championships with Dale Earnhardt (1986, 1987, 1990, 1991, 1993 and 1994).

“It’s been a very successful season for Team Chevy in the Camping World Truck Series,” Campbell said. “We’d also like to congratulate Kevin Harvick Inc. on winning the Owners’ Championship. What a way for KHI to close out a tremendous 10-year run in the series.

“In addition, our congratulations to Joey Coulter for winning the Series’ Sunoco Rookie of the Year.”

Chevrolet earlier clinched the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Manufacturers’ Championship for the seventh time.

Tonight’s season-finale was won by Johnny Sauter, No. 13 SafeAuto / Curb Records Silverado.

Former NASCAR Truck Series champion Jack Sprague will wheel a car owned by Mark Beard in next Sunday’s ARCA Racing Series (ARS) presented by Menards Federated Car Care 200 at Toledo Speedway. The entry was confirmed today while the Beard Oil team prepares for a race tonight at the Kansas Speedway. The Toledo race is part of National Championship Weekend, set for Saturday and Sunday, October 15-16.

The Toledo event is the final race for the ARS Series for the 2011 season. Sprague, a native of Spring Lake, MI will drive a car for fellow Wolverine resident Mark Beard of Mt. Pleasant, MI. Beard is no stranger to Toledo Speedway, having competed many times at the fast, ½ mile paved oval in an ARCA Late Model in the 1970′s. The Beard Oil team has Clay Rogers in the driver’s seat for the Kansas race tonight. Sprague was scheduled to also compete at Kansas, but tagged the wall in testing at the track last week.

No. 33 Champion Chevrolet Silverado

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race 15 of 25 – Michigan International Speedway

CHAMPION ON BOARD:The No. 33 Chevrolet Silverado and four-time Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday will proudly sport a black and red Champion paint scheme, with their spark plug product featured on the taneau cover this weekend at Michigan. This is the first of a two-race primary partnership with the world leading spark plug manufacturer, also on board the Silverado at Las Vegas on October 15.

ONE TO WIN: There are only eight tracks on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule at which victory have eluded four-time champion Ron Hornaday and Michigan International Speedway is one of those tracks. Hornaday will pilot the No. 33 Champion Chevrolet Silverado for Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) in the VFW 200 this Saturday at the 2-mile D-Shaped oval. In seven previous starts at Michigan, Hornaday has collected one top-five and five top-10 finishes with 15 laps led.

BY THE NUMBERS: Hornaday recorded another career milestone at Pocono Raceway on August 7. With a ninth-place finish, the driver captured his 200th Truck Series top-10 finish. Hornaday is the all-time Truck Series leader in top-10 finishes, surpassing Jack Sprague with 192. The veteran is also on the hunt for his 50th Truck Series victory, currently the all-time winningest driver in the series with 48 wins to his credit.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 team will utilize chassis No. 060 this weekend at Michigan International Speedway. This chassis made its on-track debut at Pocono where the team finished ninth. The KHI team also took this chassis to a Goodyear tire test at Texas Motor Speedway back in May.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: The No. 33 Utz Snacks Chevrolet Silverado brought home a ninth-place finish at Pocono Raceway Sunday, August 7 after rain postponed the Truck Series event Saturday afternoon. Hornaday spent the entire 50-lap race running in the top 15 before bringing home his 200th top-10 finish in 289 series starts.

MOST POPULAR DRIVER: Voting is underway for the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Most Popular Driver award. Hornaday has taken home the honors twice, most recently in 2005 and 1997. Fans can vote for Hornaday now through November 17 on NASCAR.com.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Ron Hornaday

What are your thoughts heading into Michigan?

“Going to a track I have never won at is always exciting. This race is always fun and one for the fans to watch. With the track having characteristics like Daytona and Talladega, you know you’re in for a ride. We’ve got another great partner on board the No. 33 Chevrolet this weekend and we hope to bring home another solid finish for this team. We’ve still got a lot of ground to make up and we’re not going to quit.”

THOUGHTS FROM THE CREW CHIEF: Jeff Hensley

What are your thoughts on racing at Michigan?

“You’re definitely going to see a great race. The track has the same drafting tendencies as Daytona and Talladega, and it’s a really fast race track. There is a fine line between drag and down force. You have that at the bigger tracks we run. The drivers are going to be running wide open for their qualifying lap and then the trucks will probably pick up about a second during race time.”

Thursday night, Gaughan ran into some difficulties in front of the 30,000 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series fans in attendance for the UNOH 225, but, with the help of his Germain Racing pit crew, the Las Vegas driver pushed the No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino Tundra to its best finish of the 2011 season.

“I destroyed our South Point Hotel & Casino Tundra early in the race. I right-sided it in the turn four wall. I had the splitter tucked up under it. The Germain Racing pit crew did an amazing job getting the truck back together. I think it took five trips to pit road, but, they did it and then it was my turn to get to work making up ground on restarts. I learned restart tricks from the best when I first came to the Truck Series. Jack Sprague and Ron Hornaday Jr. showed me some old-school tricks that drivers just don’t use anymore. On two restarts I made it from eleventh to third – I passed everybody. I was in my favorite position – racing on the outside. I’m happy to come out of here with a third place finish and run to Iowa Speedway,” smiled Gaughan, who made a total of eight trips to pit road before the 225-mile race was complete.

Gaughan was all smiles after leading laps for the second race this season and earning his fourth top-ten finish. He enjoyed watching runner-up finisher Parker Kligerman battle the race winner in the closing laps, though he certainly considered that the rookie could make a mistake.

Brendan Gaughan - Photo Credit: John Harrelson / Getty Images for NASCAR

“Parker did a great job there at the end. I definitely knew he could’ve made the wrong decision and he and Kyle (Busch, race winner) could’ve wrecked each other and I could’ve scored the win. But, I am impressed. He made the right decisions and a lot of young drivers don’t make the right decisions anymore. It was nice to see that some do that and he got the great finish,” said Gaughan.

With the points race now a 60-point battle from first to Gaughan, the South Point Hotel & Casino Tundra crew and driver are anxious to get on track next weekend at Iowa Speedway. After ten of 25 races, Gaughan ranks tenth in Truck Series standings, 60 points behind the leader and a mere 25 points out of fifth place.

Post-Race Notes & Quotes

Kentucky Speedway – July 7, 2011

- Tundra driver Kyle Busch crossed the finish line first in Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series
(NCWTS) race at Kentucky Speedway.

- Busch led two times for 61 laps, including the final 19 laps.

- Busch picked up his 29th NCWTS victory this evening — including his 23rd win driving a Tundra.

- The 26-year old earned his 98th NASCAR national touring series win — moving him into third-place on NASCAR’s
all-time win list.

- Tonight’s win was Busch’s fifth this season. He picked up first-place trophies at Phoenix, Nashville, Dover and
Kansas earlier this season.

- Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) now has six wins in 2011 and the team has not finished worse than sixth in 10 races.

- Brendan Gaughan’s third-place finish marked his highest-ever finish in a Tundra. Gaughan’s Germain Racing
teammate, Todd Bodine, finished fourth.

- Other Toyota drivers in the field were David Starr (8th), Travis Kvapil (10th), Max Papis (11th), Justin Lofton (15th), Timothy Peters (16th), Miguel Paludo (21st), John King (28th), Josh Richards (29th) and Johanna Long (36th).

KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 Dollar General Toyota Tundra, Kyle Busch Motorsports

Finishing Position: 1st

How was tonight’s race?

“It’s been a long day, first of all. Good thing I skipped the first morning practice otherwise I would have about another 20 laps in me. I can’t say enough about these guys on this KBM (Kyle Busch Motorsports) team. Everybody that pitches in to this deal makes it happen. It’s fun for us to come out here. It’s fun for all these guys — Eric Phillips (crew chief), Rick Ren (general manager) and everybody that does a good job for us. It was looking to be a (No.) 3 (Austin Dillon) truck night and then he had his problems, I don’t even know what happened. Then the (No.) 22 (Joey Coulter) was coming on me and I said
‘Here comes another one.’ And the caution come out and saved us — he would have passed us. We never give up. That’s our mentality. We might not have the fastest truck tonight, but we certainly gave it our all.”

Was it difficult starting from the rear of the field?

“We had to go to the back and it wasn’t that big of a deal. We ended up having a really good truck that would get us through the first half of the field there and then we just kind of kept working on it. It was really loose in and kind of tight center exit, and we tried making some changes to it and it got better, but then there late in going in the end of the race we tightened it up a little bit more for the short run for the entry and kind of hurt my center and my off. Those guys were really running me down and we’re a lot faster than I was — the (No.) 3 (Austin Dillon), the (No.) 22 (Joey Coulter), maybe a couple of others –
but they had problems. Whatever we had riding with us tonight was certainly a blessing and got us to victory lane. The caution came out perfect and we had two really good restarts there with some guys who were a little anxious maybe and spun their tires, so we just had to make sure we didn’t spin ours and get good acceleration down the front straightaway and make two good, solid laps. ”

How was the final restart with unfamiliar faces around your truck?

“The second to last one was with some unfamiliar (ones) too. The last one, yeah the last one those guys — Jason White. Jason was on my inside there. I know these guys are racing for their lives trying to get their first win. We were able to just motor on and get a better restart than they did and not spin our tires as much and accelerate forward. Again, just a great night for all of us. Thank all these guys, they did a good job for me all weekend. Hopefully, this is just a start. Maybe we can have a couple more this weekend. We’ll see.”

How does it feel to get your 29th NCWTS win?

“This is pretty cool. I can’t say enough about all the guys on this Kyle Busch Motorsports team. They gave me a fast Dollar General Tundra tonight. It might not have been the best truck. It was certainly fast enough at the end there when it mattered. We got some good restarts there and stayed out of the trouble behind us. It’s a big program and there’s a lot of people and that’s why we’re able to come to the race track.”

Do you feel comfortable at Kentucky Speedway?

“This place — you never get a comfort here at Kentucky. It’s such a hard race track. Turn three is just my Achilles heel. It’s killing me. I think it has been all weekend. I’d like to be able to get faster and I’m working towards doing that. We just got to work on things that will help me.”

BRENDAN GAUGHAN, No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing

Finishing Position: 3rd

What are your thoughts on tonight’s race?

“We went back, forward, back forward. We tore the right side off our Tundra midway through that race and we had to stop about five times and actually beat the front end back out and the splitter back out because it was dragging. The boys on pit road did a great job. Bryan Berry (crew chief), the last call — him and I have been together a long time and we think very much alike — with about 30 to go we stopped for the last time and I had a funny feeling he was going to say, ‘Let’s do two tires,’ so I turned on the left front blowers and tried to cool those tires down as much as I could. He said, ‘Don’t slide,’ and I knew what he was talking about. We went out, put barely enough gas in it. He and I think so much alike and it made up the difference.”

How do you feel about your finish?

“Happy as hell. Our motor was great. I just told our engine tuner that we ran this baby on that last restart red every gear, put it at nine grand and just kept on going. I love my restarts. I do a little bit different restart stuff than most other people in Toyotas or other makes and that’s why it pays off right there — great restart. I learned from (Ron) Hornaday and (Jack) Sprague years ago. I was hoping we would get the (No.) 29 (Parker Kilgerman) to smack the (No.) 18 (Busch) a little and maybe get us the ‘W,’ but we’ll take third right now.”

How did you gain so many positions on the final restart?

“We have a little bit different transmission ratio and do a little bit, some stuff I learned from racing in the off road years, years ago, and I paid a lot of attention early in my career to Ron Hornaday and Jack Sprague and really liked how they did it. They always crushed people and I learned a lot back then and when you’re up near the front it really pays off. What did I pass? Four guys in one lap? That’s what it’s all about. The Germain Racing team — this is what we came here to do, third and fourth. That’s what’s it’s supposed to be.”

TODD BODINE, No. 30 Georgia Boot Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing

Finishing Position: 4th

Was your setup off to start the race?

“We missed the setup bad. It was just not good. We kept making adjustments and we kept coming in and working on it and we never give up. That’s what we’re about a Germain Racing, we don’t give up. We had a new sponsor on our truck tonight, Georgia Boot, and we wanted to have a good run and here we are fourth.”

DAVID STARR, No. 81 Akzo Nobel / ASI Limited / Zachry Toyota Tundra, SS Green Light Racing

Finishing Position: 8th

TRAVIS KVAPIL, No. 5 International Truck-Monaco RVs Toyota Tundra, Randy Moss Motorsports

Finishing Position: 10th

MAX PAPIS, No. 9 GEICO Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing

Finishing Position: 11th

JUSTIN LOFTON, No. 46 CollegeComplete.com Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing

Finishing Position: 15th

TIMOTHY PETERS, No. 17 Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra, Red Horse Racing

Finishing Position: 16th

MIGUEL PALUDO, No. 7 STEMCO-Duroline Toyota Tundra, Red Horse Racing

Finishing Position: 21st

What happened in your accident?

“Man, the last restart I tried to concentrate and do a really good restart and I did it, but I got caught up by the (No.) 8 (Nelson Piquet Jr.) inside of me and I couldn’t lift, so when we went into turn three I left a lot of room and unfortunately I think he got sideways. I know it’s not intentional, but it’s really bad for us, especially because we’re looking for the points and try be back in pace. We had a good truck and looking forward to Iowa.”

JOHN KING, No. 16 Edward Jones Investments Toyota Tundra

Finishing Position: 28th

JOSH RICHARDS, No. 15 Joy Mining Toyota Tundra, Kyle Busch Motorsports

Finishing Position: 29th

JOHANNA LONG, No. 20 Panhandle Grading & Paving Toyota Tundra, Panhandle Motorsports

Finishing Position: 36th

KYLE BUSCH HOPING TO INTRODUCE KENTUCKY FANS TO HIS VERSION OF THE TRIFECTA

With legendary Churchill Downs located just over an hour away, many fans attending NASCAR races at Kentucky Speedway are probably familiar with the term trifecta. Kyle Busch is hoping to introduce those fans to his version of the trifecta — the version which doesn’t include any second or third-place finishes. The 26-year old, who last August at Bristol Motor Speedway became the first driver to win races in NASCAR’s top three divisions in the same weekend, will begin his try at the Kentucky Speedway trifecta driving the No. 18 Dollar General Toyota in Thursday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series UNOH 225. The Las Vegas native, who figures to be one of the favorites in all three races this weekend, has visited victory lane at the 1.5-mile paved oval twice in his career, winning the ARCA Racing Series Channel 5 205 in 2004 and the NASCAR Nationwide Series Meijer 250 in 2005.

6-YEAR-OLD BRADLEY BUMPAS “RIDING SHOTGUN WITH KYLE BUSCH MOTORSPORTS”

6-year-old Bradley Bumpas from Elizabethtown, Ky. was recently selected as the winner of the “Riding Shotgun with Kyle Busch Motorsports” essay contest for Kentucky Speedway. Bumpas’ essay was chosen among submissions from children age 5-12 that live in areas surrounding Kentucky Speedway. The youngster’s name and picture will adorn the area above the passenger side window of Kyle Busch’s No. 18 Dollar General Toyota for Thursday’s UNOH 225.

“Any time that NASCAR has a tripleheader at the same truck, you know that I have my eyes on winning all three races. With the Sprint Cup Series racing at Kentucky for the first time, it gives me another shot at a trifecta. I’ve had some success at Kentucky in the past — I’ve won in both the ARCA and Nationwide Series. Last year the Dollar General Tundra was the dominant truck for most of the night until the race was decided by fuel strategy. I think we’ll have a good shot at getting the weekend started with a win in the truck and been one of the contenders in both the Nationwide race on Friday and the Cup race Saturday. It should be a great atmosphere, they have had great crowds for the truck and Nationwide Series races in the past and the Cup race is already a sellout. Hopefully, we can make it a memorable weekend!”

KYLE BUSCH ON RACING AT KENTUCKY SPEEDWAY

“I couldn’t expect anything but some good, hard racing. Kentucky is a fast race track. There’s a lot of sweeping corners there so you’ve really got to keep your momentum going and it’s a big momentum-type race track. There’s a lot of throttle on time there. You carry a lot of good speed, but yet the place is really wide so you’ve got room for maneuverability. You can run the bottom. It seemed like you can run the middle. I don’t know how great the top will be, but we’ll have to see once we get there and what kind of tire we’re on.”

ERIC PHILLIPS ON WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON AT KBM SINCE LAST RACE

“Despite not racing in three weeks, it’s been pretty busy at KBM. We were able to get to the wind tunnel a couple times and worked on a few things to try and make our trucks better. We also went to The Milwaukee Mile for a two-day test with Josh Richards. Josh got to make some laps in a truck and I think it went very well. It should definitely help prepare him for his debut in the No. 15 Tundra at Kentucky and we’re looking forward to his debut in our No. 18 Tundra at Nashville.

ERIC PHILLIPS ON PRIMARY TRUCK SELECTION

“Our primary truck for this weekend will be KBM-4. It’s raced nine times and has won six races including Darlington and Nashville this year. Brian Ickler finished fourth with it at Texas. The truck came home from Texas with a little cosmetic damage, so we fixed it up and took it in the wind tunnel last week.”

NASCAR Truck Series Race 10 of 25 – Kentucky Speedway

ROOKIE IN THE BLUEGRASS STATE: Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) NASCAR Nationwide Series driver and 14-year verteran, Elliott Sadler will climb behind the wheel of the No. 2 Hunt Brothers Pizza Chevrolet Silverado at Kentucky Speedway for the UNOH 225 as a rookie in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event. Sadler has made several laps around the 1.5-mile oval during test sessions at the facility but has yet to compete in any NASCAR series race.

BIG WHEELING WITH ELLIOTT SADLER: Hunt Brothers® Pizza, the nation’s largest brand of made-to-order pizza in the convenience store industry, is asking its pizza-loving customers to gear up for a weekend of racing at Kentucky Speedway with the Big Wheeling with Elliott Sadler Challenge. Nine lucky race fans will be selected to participate in the July 6 event in Sparta, Ky., where they will race big wheels through a relay course of pizza eating, wing munching and Coca Cola® drinking stations to win several great prizes. This event is open to the public and everyone is invited to come out and enjoy free pizza and wings. For more information about this event and the Hunt Brother Pizza racing program be sure to visit www.hbpracing.com/bigwheeling.

KHI TRUCK SERIES SUCCESS: KHI has competed in 10 Truck Series events over the previous seven NASCAR seasons. During those races KHI has collected one pole, two victories, three top-five and six top-10 finishes between five different drivers including Matt Crafton, Ron Hornaday, Jack Sprague, Ricky Carmichael and Shelby Howard. Hornaday is credited with both of KHI’s victories at the track.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 2 crew will unload chassis No. 059 when they roll into Sparta, Kentucky this week. This is the same chassis that Clint Bowyer drove to victory lane at Kanas Speedway in June earning KHI its first Truck Series victory of the season. Bowyer also piloted this chassis to a second place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: David Mayhew took on driving duties for the No. 2 MMI Services Chevrolet Silverado for KHI during the WinStar World Casino 400k at Texas Motor Speedway on June 10. After starting in the 16th position, the Bakersfield, Calif., native battled a loose-handling truck as he worked his way to a solid third-place finish, the driver’s best-career finish in five starts in the Truck Series.

SADLER’S THOUGHTS ON KENTUCKY:

What are your thoughts heading into the race at Kentucky Speedway?

“Kentucky is a great track. Although I have never competed there, I’ve had the opportunity to test there several times. I’ll be competing in both the Truck Series and Nationwide Series events at the track, so I will get to log laps in the truck to help get acquainted with the track in the competitive setting. There will be a lot of excitement surrounding the event since it is the first time the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will be there, so it will be great to be a part of their inaugural weekend. I’m looking forward to having Hunt Brothers Pizza on board and bringing home a win for KHI.”

No. 8 Bozzano / Jontex Chevrolet Silverado

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race 10 of 25 – Kentucky Speedway

O ESTADO BLUEGRASS (THE BLUEGRASS STATE): Famously known as the home of the Kentucky Derby, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will make its way to the Bluegrass state with a different type of horse power. Nelson Piquet Jr. heads to the Sparta, Ky., track for his first-career start at the 1.5-mile facility in the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) No. 8 Bozzano / Jontex Chevrolet Silverado.

8 team will unload chassis No. 054 when they head to Kentucky Speedway. Crew chief Chris Carrier and the team last ran this chassis at Kansas Speedway where Piquet Jr. escaped damage after being involved in a minor incident on track, leaving him to fight his way to an eighth-place finish.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Nelson Piquet Jr. finished 13th at Texas Motor Speedway during the WinStar World Casino 400k after getting shuffled out of the top-10 on the last lap. The young driver qualified in the 10th position for the race and had powered the No. 8 Bozzano / Jontex Chevrolet Silverado up to the fifth position before the exciting green-white-checkered finish.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Nelson Piquet Jr.

How do you feel heading into your first race at Kentucky Speedway?

“It will be exciting to head to another track on the circuit that is new to me. I have been told that the track surface is very rough which I’m used to from my open-wheel racing experience. I also really like the 1.5-mile size tracks. Our program for tracks this size has done well so far. I think the combination of racing surface and track size will help us continue to move in the right direction towards the goals we have for this season.”

THOUGHTS FROM THE PIT BOX: Chris Carrier

What are you looking forward to at Kentucky?

“I’ve always liked racing at Kentucky, but this weekend is going to be historic. This is the first time that all three of NASCAR’s premier divisions will be running at the track. The Truck Series is going to be racing under the lights, which always adds an additional excitement factor for the fans. Our 1.5-mile program has also done fairly well this season, so I’m feeling confident about this race.”

What sets Kentucky Speedway apart from other 1.5-mile tracks on the schedule?

“Kentucky Speedway has a really rough racing surface. The track is very fast and has a lot of grip, but it is incredibly rough which will add some challenge to finding the right setup for the truck. Fortunately, the Truck Series is scheduled to have two evening practice sessions that will allow us to get a better idea of how the truck might handle during race time. Racing in Kentucky is always fun and this should be an exciting race.”

(June 2, 2011)- As the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) prepares to celebrate its 400th race Saturday at Kansas Speedway, the individual accomplishments of Kyle Busch, Rick Ren and Eric Phillips over the first 399 races rank among the most celebrated in series history.

Kyle Busch – Owner / Driver

NCWTS Career Highlights:

· Tied with Mike Skinner and Jack Sprague for second most wins in NCWTS history with 28

· Winning driver/owner in closest margin of victory in NCWTS history (.002-seconds over Aric Almirola in the Mountain Dew 250 at Talladega Superspeedway on October 30, 2010)

· Youngest driver (20 years, 18 days) in NCWTS history to win a race (Quaker Steak & Lube 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on 5/20/05)

· 119.6 career driver rating entering the 2011 season is the highest accumulated by a NCWTS driver since the stat was introduced in 2005

· Average career finish of 7.1 ranks first among active drivers with 10 or more career starts

· Has won 30.7% of the NCWTS races he has entered and finished first or second in 49.4%

· In 2010 KBM became the first team to win an owners’ championship in its inaugural season since the NCWTS originated in 1995

Most Memorable Experience in the NCWTS:

“I’ve had a lot of memorable moments in the truck series — winning a championship in my first year as an owner, my first-ever truck series win at Charlotte, the fantastic finish last year at Talladega and getting the sweep started in the trucks at Bristol all quickly come to mind – it’s been a great series to be a part of as both a driver and now an owner. But, if I have to pick one moment that stands out above the rest, the most memorable would have to be my first win as an owner last April at Nashville Superspeedway.

It was extremely rewarding to see the hard work of everyone involved at KBM come to fruition. Having the first win come at the hometown track of Dollar General in their first race as a primary sponsor of our Toyota Tundra was icing on the cake. That win seemed to be the spark that helped propel us to more wins and an owners’ championship in our first season. It also was instrumental in developing our relationship with Dollar General into something bigger this season.”

Rick Ren – General Manager

NCWTS Career Highlights:

· Winningest crew chief in NCWTS history with 27 wins

· Has gone to victory lane an additional 13 times as an executive at KBM — making him a part of one in every 10 wins in NCWTS history.

· Has won two NCWTS championships as a crew chief and one as a General Manager

· Won a NCWTS record five consecutive wins with driver Ron Hornaday Jr. in 2009

· Has collected NCWTS wins with five different drivers (Hornaday Jr., Johnny Benson Jr., Travis Kvapil, Rick Carelli and Andy Houston)

Most Memorable Experience in the NCWTS:

“I’ve had a great career in the truck series and have many memorable moments. To pick out one individual moment as my favorite — that’s a tall task. The championships were all great. Leading a rookie to his first win, winning at Dover the day I met my wife, the look on Kyle’s face last year at Nashville when he won for the first time as an owner — looking back, those were all pretty cool moments. Probably winning five consecutive races with Ron Hornaday Jr. in 2009 would have to be my biggest accomplishment. Not only was it a truck series record, it tied a 38-year old NASCAR record. The way things played out in each of those races in order to win five consecutive, you couldn’t write the script any better. The stars and the moon lined up pretty good.”

Eric Phillips – Crew Chief

NCWTS Career Highlights:

· Winningest active NCWTS crew chief with 23 career wins — which also ranks him third on all-time list

· Crew Chief for Toyota’s first-ever NASCAR touring series victory (Travis Kvapil at Michigan International Speedway on 7/31/04)

· Has collected NCWTS wins with five different drivers (Busch, Kvapil, Dennis Setzer, Clint Bowyer and Mike Skinner)

Most Memorable Experience in the NCWTS:

“Being the crew chief for Toyota’s first-ever NASCAR win is definitely my most memorable experience in the truck series. I still have the trophy at home and it brings back great memories.”

About Kyle Busch Motorsports

It was Zahra Baker’s spirit that helped lift the No. 18 to a third-consecutive win in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Busch paid remembrance to Baker, a 10-year-old Hickory, N.C., who was found slain last year, by winning the N.C. Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday night. After Busch collected the checkered flag, he immediately walked to Zahra’s picture on the side of his truck and was “kissed by an angel.”

“I had an angel riding with me in that last run of the race with Zahra Baker,” said Busch. “We didn’t have the truck to beat tonight – Clint Bowyer did. Somehow I found some more out of it and I’m going to say that I had some help tonight. It’s weird how things work. When you believe in it, you trust in it, and you have faith in it – it will repay you. I can’t say enough about NOS Energy Drink and this Kyle Busch Motorsports team. Toyota, M&M’s, Flexco, and Dollar General. It was a great night for all of us. To come out here with a win and with a special name on the side of the truck – it means a lot to Kyle Busch Motorsports, Speedway Children’s Charities and the North Carolina community. Especially the people from Hickory – who knew and loved Zahra. It means the world to me to be able to pay remembrance to her with a win tonight.”

Friday night’s win was monumental for the 26-year-old driver. Busch, who drove into victory lane for the 97th time in NASCAR’s top three series, moved into a tie with NASCAR legends Dale Earnhardt and Darrell Waltrip for third on the all-time combined national touring series wins list. The victory was the Las Vegas native’s 28th career NCWTS Series win, moving him into a tie for second all-time with series legends Mike Skinner and Jack Sprague.

Busch, who an hour before the start of the truck race captured the pole for the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, started the N.C. Education Lottery 200 from the fifth position. In the early stages of the race the defending race champion communicated to crew chief Eric Phillips that the No. 18 NOS Energy Charged Citrus Toyota was extremely loose.

On lap 53, the extremely loose became uncontrollably loose as the back end of the Las Vegas native’s Toyota snapped around coming off turn four. The rear end of the No. 18 slid up the banking, nearly collecting the outside wall then slid back down the banking and just before the nose of the truck was about to make contact with the inside retaining wall Busch got the truck back headed in the right direction to complete the miraculous save.

When pit road opened, Busch brought his No. 18 to the attention of his team for four fresh tires, a full tank of fuel and wholesale adjustments to try and tighten the truck. He was scored in the ninth position when the race restarted on lap 59.

As the race progressed, the man who had led the most laps en route to dominant victories in the last two NCWTS races seem destined to run just inside the top five. He was running in the fourth position when a three-car crash on the backstretch brought out the seventh caution of the race on lap 77. Crew Chief Eric Phillips made the decision to come for a fuel-only pit stop when pit road opened.

When the race restarted on lap 82, the No. 18 NOS Charged Citrus Tundra was scored in the fifth position. The race continued to be slowed by numerous cautions as the laps wound down. Busch tried to force his way to the front of the field at times making things three and four wide on the numerous restarts.

On lap 107 David Starr brought out a record-breaking 10th and final caution of the race after spinning off Turn Four. Although he had the dominant truck in Friday’s race, Bowyer knew that Busch was lurking in the third spot. Bowyer chose the outside lane for the final restart of the race to try and get a jump on the inside lane where the No. 18 was lurking.

Bowyer’s decision appeared to have paid off as Busch fell to the fourth position when the race restarted on lap 112. NASCAR’s winningest active driver dove to the inside of Ron Hornaday Jr. and James Buescher going into turn three with 22 laps remaining and moved into the second position.

The No. 18 NOS Charged Citrus Toyota slowly chipped away at Bowyer’s lead as the race headed into the final 10 laps. On lap 127, Busch made a big run on Bowyer off the top side of turn two. As Bowyer’s No. 2 moved up the track to try and slow Busch’s momentum, the No. 18 quickly dove to the inside making it a side-by-side challenge for the lead down the backstretch. The 26-year-old was able to complete the pass off of turn four and hold off Bowyer for the last seven laps en route to his fourth NCWTS victory in seven races at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Rookie Cole Whitt finished third followed by Buescher and Hornaday Jr. Rounding out the top 10 were Johnny Sauter, Austin Dillon, Parker Kligerman, Justin Marks and Brad Sweet.

The victory was Busch’s fourth NCWTS in 2011 and fifth for Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM). Dating back to 2010, KBM finished in the top 10 in 17 consecutive races; including 11 wins and three runner-up finishes. The defending owners’ champions have opened a 59-point in this year’s standings after six races.

Busch will be back behind the wheel of the No. 18 Dollar General Toyota when the NCWTS heads to Kansas Speedway for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 June 4 at 2:00 p.m. ET.

No. 2 Ollie’s Bargain Outlet Chevrolet Silverado

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race 7 of 25 – Charlotte Motor Speedway

BOWYER BEHIND THE WHEEL: NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Clint Bowyer will make his second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series appearance of the season in the No. 2 Ollie’s Bargain Outlet Chevrolet Silverado during the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway. This race will mark Bowyer’s first Truck Series start at the track many drivers call home.

This race may be Bowyer’s Truck Series debut at the 1.5-mile quad-oval, but he is no stranger to the track. Since his entrance to NASCAR Bowyer has made 21 career starts between the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series. During those races he has earned one pole, four top-fives, 11 top 10′s and has led a total of 125 laps.

KHI TRUCK SERIES CHARLOTTE SUCCESS: During the last eight seasons Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) has made 13 Truck Series starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The KHI teams have racked up two wins, eight top-fives, nine top 10′s and has led 257 laps between six different drivers: KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick, Matt Crafton, Ron Hornaday, Jack Sprague, Ryan Newman and Elliott Sadler.

Four-time Camping World Truck Series Champion Ron Hornaday can take credit for the two KHI wins. Hornaday took home the hardware during the May races in 2007 and 2009.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 2 KHI team will run chassis No. 059 this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This is a new chassis that the team has yet to utilize in competition this season.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick was back in the seat of the No. 2 Bad Boy Buggies Chevrolet Silverado as the team headed to Dover (Del.) International Speedway for the Lucas Oil 200. The team took the green flag for the 200-lap contest in the second position. Harvick had an impressive showing during his first Truck Series start at the one-mile oval, overcoming the challenges of a loose-handling truck and a pit road penalty to capture a top-five finish.

BOWYER’S THOUGHTS ON CHARLOTTE:

What are your thoughts on being back in the truck?

“I’m looking forward to getting back in the No. 2 truck and running with Bruce Cook and the KHI guys. We sat on the pole and finished second earlier this season at Phoenix and I’m hoping we can pick up where we left off this weekend.”

How do you feel about running the Truck Series at Charlotte?

“I’ve never run a truck race at Charlotte but I’ve had some solid runs in the other series there. It is a really fast track. I think being able to roll through the center well and carry the momentum off the corners to make the most of the straightaways is huge. Charlotte is a 1.5-mile track like Texas and I’ve won there in the trucks so hoping that experience will help me too. It’d be great to get this KHI Chevrolet in victory lane, especially at Charlotte where all of the guys on the team will have friends and family there since it is really a home track for all of us.”

About Ollie’s Bargain Outlet:

Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is a Harrisburg, PA-based company and is one of America’s largest retailers of closeouts, surplus and bankruptcy merchandise, and much more.
No. 33 Menards Chevrolet Impala

NASCAR Nationwide Series Race 6 of 34 – Texas Motor Speedway

MENARD BEHIND THE WHEEL: Driver Paul Menard will make his first NASCAR Nationwide Series start of 2011 and first start with Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. Menard has nine series starts at the 1.5-mile track, with one top-five and five top-10 finishes. In each of his last four races at Texas, the driver has finished within the top 10. His average start is 13.1 and average finish, 12.9.

KHI LOOKING FOR A LONE STAR WIN: Texas Motor Speedway remains one of 17 tracks on the current schedule at which KHI has yet to grab a Nationwide Series victory. Behind the wheel of the No. 33 Chevrolet, driver Tony Stewart brought home a second-place finish for the organization in the spring race in 2009.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY: In 2011, KHI will celebrate their 10th year of competition in NASCAR. Team co-owner Kevin Harvick made KHI’s first start in the Truck Series event at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway in 2001, narrowly missing the win by inches to series veteran Jack Sprague. Ten years later, Kevin and DeLana Harvick have two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championships to their credit and multiple wins with a host of drivers to boast in their over 80,000 square foot facility in Kernersville, North Carolina. During 2011, all KHI vehicles will carry a commemorative decal as the company celebrates their accomplishments over the last 10 years.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Kevin Harvick wheeled the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Impala to a third-place finish at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif. on March 16. Harvick, who started from the outside pole position, led 64 laps before ending the event in third. The driver’s solid finish moved the No. 33 up two positions to third in the Nationwide Series Owner’s Point standings, 14 markers out of first.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 Menards team will utilize chassis No. 071 this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. This is the same chassis the KHI team competed with at Auto Club Speedway two weeks ago.

Paul Menard - Photo Credit: John Harrelson / Getty Images

MENARD’S THOUGHTS ON TEXAS:

“This will be my first Nationwide Series race this season and my first race with KHI. Kevin and DeLana build great cars, so I am really excited to get in the No. 33 Chevy this weekend. Texas is one of my favorite tracks; I’ve run well there in the past and am looking forward to running the new car there, as well as working with David Hyder and the guys.”

About Menards:

With 255 stores in 12 Midwestern states, Menards has the tools, materials and supplies for all your home improvement needs whether just needing a light bulb or can of paint to building a deck or new home.
MARKS RETURNS TO MARTINSVILLE:

Justin Marks will make his second career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday. The track, which is best known for its paper-clip shape and 12° banking, is one of the most challenging tracks on the circuit. “It’s obviously a very difficult race track; its one of the most difficult tracks on the schedule,” said Marks. “I feel like we had a pretty good test and I feel like we’re making progress every time, so I’m looking forward to it. Martinsville is one of those tracks that I’m going to have to lean on the veterans as much as I can and get as much advice as I can over the course of the weekend because typically the new guys, or the less experienced guys, don’t do that well there.

There is such a style to getting around there fast. I really enjoy driving the track; I think it’s a really cool venue and sort of a unique challenge. I’m encouraged because I feel like this team is getting better and better every week. We’re ready to apply it and get a good finish.”

THE CREW CHIEF’S CHOICE FOR MARTINSVILLE:

Crew Chief Doug Wolcott has selected chassis No. 54 for the 13th Annual Kroger “250”. This truck was last raced by former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion, Jack Sprague at Martinsville Speedway in 2008. The truck qualified 15th and finished 11th with Sprague at the controls. Since then, the truck underwent a complete overhaul including a new front clip and body.

MEET MARKS ON SATURDAY!:

Justin Marks, teammate Cole Whitt, and other NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers will take part in an autograph session on Saturday, April 2nd from 9 to 10 a.m. The autograph session will take place across from the ticket office at Martinsville Speedway.

Justin Marks

MARKS PREPARES FOR MARTINSVILLE WITH MOTOR MILE TEST:

Justin Marks and the No. 66 GoPro team took their Chevrolet Silverado race truck to Motor Mile Speedway in Dublin, Va. last week for a private test session to prepare for the Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway. “I think the test went real well,” said Marks. “I think the guys all worked together better than they have at any other race track this year, races included. We were able to get through a lot of changes and stick to the plan really closely. The truck responded really well to the different stuff that we did and we changed a lot of geometry. I think it was great because now I am comfortable in the truck and I know how to drive it. I feel like it was a really efficient test. It was definitely great for us to do because I think we learned a lot about this truck. “

TURN ONE RACING IS TIED TO VIRGINIA:

Virginia’s own Van-Go Rentals – “Your Temporary Transportation Solution” is a team sponsor of Turn One Racing. Van-Go Rentals is based in Lynchburg, Va. and is locally owned and operated.
