- Third Time’s A Charm: This will mark the third start for Sadler behind the wheel of the No.24 for Joe Denette Motorsports. The Emporia, Va. native piloted his AM FM-Energy Chevrolet to a ninth-place finish after starting from the pole and leading 53 laps at Bristol Motor Speedway in August. Most recently, Sadler was behind the wheel of the Virginia Lottery Chevrolet at Martinsville Speedway. After starting 14th, Sadler led five laps en route to a 19th-place finish.

Previous Race Recap: In his second start of the 2011 season for Joe Denette Motorsports, Virginia native Elliott Sadler turned a track-best start into a track-best finish at Martinsville Speedway.
“I’ve had a great 2011 season on and off the track. Amanda and I remodeled our house, welcomed our first daughter, Austyn, to our family and are looking forward to a quiet off season in Emporia, VA. In the meantime, we’ve come up short on visiting victory lane this season and I’ve got two more shots at it in Homestead.”

“We’ve run well enough to win on the truck side and the Nationwide side but things haven’t gone our way at the end. We’re hoping we can change that this weekend.”

“Homestead is a great track. It was the first track to really tackle the progressive banking concept and even to date it’s probably the best progressive banking in our sport. We can run pretty much anywhere we want on the race track which is something racecar drivers are a big fan of, multi-groove racing.”

“I’ve got a pretty busy weekend planned. I’ll be doing a lot of appearances around Miami on Thursday and I get to see my good friend, Blake Shelton, on Thursday night. Friday and Saturday we are on track all day and on Monday we have the banquet down in South Beach. We’re gonna do all we can to end this year out with a win, or two in Homestead.”

No. 33 Cooked Perfect Meatballs Chevrolet Silverado

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race 16 of 25 – Bristol Motor Speedway

HUNGRY AND ON THE HUNT: Four-time Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday is anxious to get his No. 33 Cooked Perfect Meatballs Chevrolet Silverado to the 0.533-mile oval of Bristol Motor Speedway this Wednesday night. The Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) team has collected third-place finishes in the past two visits to the track and is hungry to visit victory lane. Hornaday knows his way around the Tennessee short track having led 388 laps and collecting two wins, four top-five and seven top-10 finishes in 11 starts.

TASTE PERFECT: The No. 33 KHI Chevrolet will once again sport Home Market Foods and their Cooked Perfect Meatballs brands colors for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series showdown at Bristol. This is their second race on the No. 33 truck, after making their debut in April at Martinsville Speedway. Their black, red, and gold colors will be on board the No. 33 Chevrolet again at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on September 24.

TIME TO COOK: Hornaday will be making an appearance at Kroger grocery on Midway Street in Bristol, Va. on Tuesday, August 23 from 4-6 p.m. The veteran driver will be signing autographs and preparing one of Cooked Perfect Meatballs famous recipes with wife, Lindy. Make sure to stop by for your Hornaday autograph and free samples of Cooked Perfect Meatballs.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 KHI team will bring chassis No. 043 to Bristol this week. This chassis is no stranger to the KHI stable recording two wins during 2010 Truck Series season,, in addition to four top-five finishes in its five starts. Chassis No. 43 has been on track twice this year at Martinsville and Kansas Speedway with Hornaday behind the wheel bringing home one top-five finish.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Hornaday and the No. 33 Champion team started the race at Michigan International Speedway from the third position. The veteran driver fought a loose-handling Chevrolet Silverado for the entire 100-lap event but the KHI team was able to capture a seventh-place finish and move up two positions in the championship point standings only 46 markers out of the lead.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Ron Hornaday

What are your expectations going into Bristol?

“Bristol is one of the most exciting races of the year. Everyone looks forward to racing under the lights and it gives the fans something to look forward to on a Wednesday night. Bristol is a track where you can find yourself in trouble pretty fast. You really have to be smart and hope the guy next to you is playing smart. You need to play the track position game to be there at the end. You’ll have a shot to win if you’re up front.”

THOUGHTS FROM ATOP THE PIT BOX: Jeff Hensley

What are your thoughts heading into Bristol?

“Bristol is Bristol. I love this race track. I wish the Truck Series could race here every weekend. I have had a lot of success at the track, earning a few poles, and having really great runs, including a win. I think that our No. 33 Cooked Perfect Meatballs team has potential to go there, sit on the pole and win the race.”

No. 33 Champion Chevrolet Silverado

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race 15 of 25 – Michigan International Speedway

CHAMPION ON BOARD:The No. 33 Chevrolet Silverado and four-time Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday will proudly sport a black and red Champion paint scheme, with their spark plug product featured on the taneau cover this weekend at Michigan. This is the first of a two-race primary partnership with the world leading spark plug manufacturer, also on board the Silverado at Las Vegas on October 15.

ONE TO WIN: There are only eight tracks on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule at which victory have eluded four-time champion Ron Hornaday and Michigan International Speedway is one of those tracks. Hornaday will pilot the No. 33 Champion Chevrolet Silverado for Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) in the VFW 200 this Saturday at the 2-mile D-Shaped oval. In seven previous starts at Michigan, Hornaday has collected one top-five and five top-10 finishes with 15 laps led.

BY THE NUMBERS: Hornaday recorded another career milestone at Pocono Raceway on August 7. With a ninth-place finish, the driver captured his 200th Truck Series top-10 finish. Hornaday is the all-time Truck Series leader in top-10 finishes, surpassing Jack Sprague with 192. The veteran is also on the hunt for his 50th Truck Series victory, currently the all-time winningest driver in the series with 48 wins to his credit.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 team will utilize chassis No. 060 this weekend at Michigan International Speedway. This chassis made its on-track debut at Pocono where the team finished ninth. The KHI team also took this chassis to a Goodyear tire test at Texas Motor Speedway back in May.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: The No. 33 Utz Snacks Chevrolet Silverado brought home a ninth-place finish at Pocono Raceway Sunday, August 7 after rain postponed the Truck Series event Saturday afternoon. Hornaday spent the entire 50-lap race running in the top 15 before bringing home his 200th top-10 finish in 289 series starts.

MOST POPULAR DRIVER: Voting is underway for the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Most Popular Driver award. Hornaday has taken home the honors twice, most recently in 2005 and 1997. Fans can vote for Hornaday now through November 17 on NASCAR.com.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Ron Hornaday

What are your thoughts heading into Michigan?

“Going to a track I have never won at is always exciting. This race is always fun and one for the fans to watch. With the track having characteristics like Daytona and Talladega, you know you’re in for a ride. We’ve got another great partner on board the No. 33 Chevrolet this weekend and we hope to bring home another solid finish for this team. We’ve still got a lot of ground to make up and we’re not going to quit.”

THOUGHTS FROM THE CREW CHIEF: Jeff Hensley

What are your thoughts on racing at Michigan?

“You’re definitely going to see a great race. The track has the same drafting tendencies as Daytona and Talladega, and it’s a really fast race track. There is a fine line between drag and down force. You have that at the bigger tracks we run. The drivers are going to be running wide open for their qualifying lap and then the trucks will probably pick up about a second during race time.”

No. 33 Utz Snacks Chevrolet Silverado

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race 14 of 25 – Pocono Raceway

SOPHOMORE SHOOTOUT: Ron Hornaday may be a four-time champion in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, but he will head to Pocono Raceway this weekend for only his second-career start in the series at the Long Pond, Pa. track. The veteran driver will pilot the No. 33 Utz Snacks Chevrolet Silverado at the 2.5-mile track with hopes to surpass his 2010 finish. Hornaday spent the majority of the 50-lap inaugural event in the top 10 but was caught up in a late-race accident that relegated the team to a 29th-place finish.

UTZ SNACKS: The No. 33 Chevrolet Silverado will feature the red, white and blue paint scheme of Utz Quality Foods. The Pennsylvania-based company made their debut on the No. 33 Chevrolet in May at Dover (Del.) International Speedway and returned with the team at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The team scored a ninth-place finish and a fifth-place finish respectively.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 team will utilize chassis No. 060 this weekend at Pocono Raceway. The team took this chassis to a Goodyear tire test at Texas Motor Speedway back in May, but will make its competition debut this weekend.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Hornaday and the No. 33 Vlasic/Armour Chevrolet Silverado battled in the top 10 for the majority of last Friday night’s Truck Series race at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis. The team fought a tight-handling truck during the 200-lap event, but was able to keep the KHI Chevrolet in the lead pack to bring home a fifth-place finish.

MOST POPULAR DRIVER: Voting has now begun for the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Most Popular Driver award. Hornaday has taken home the honors twice, most recently in 2005 and in 1997. Fans can vote for Hornaday now through November 17 on NASCAR.com.

Ron Hornaday

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Ron Hornaday

What are your thoughts heading into Pocono?

“We had a really great run last year at Pocono. It was the Truck Series first visit to the track and it put on a great show. We had a top10 truck but got caught up in a wreck at the end of the race. We’re excited to go back and make a run for the win. It’s exciting to be in our sponsor’s home state of Pennsylvania this weekend. They will have a great group of people here at the track and we are looking forward to putting on a good show for them.”

THOUGHTS FROM THE CREW CHIEF: Jeff Hensley

How do you feel about the Truck Series racing at Pocono?

“Last year was the first time I had ever been to Pocono. It was a great race for the series and a great addition to the schedule. The race track is so wide that you can race four and five wide but once you hit the tunnel (turn) you better back down.

“Pocono is a different type of race track. You need the drag of your Daytona truck and the downforce for your Atlanta truck. It is two animals combined into one track.”

RON HORNADAY

No. 33 Vlasic Pickles, Peppers & Relish / Kroger Chevrolet Silverado

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race 13 of 25 – Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis

FOUR AND COUNTING: Four-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday will visit Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis this weekend as not only the defending race winner but as the series all-time race winner at the short track. Behind the wheel of the No. 33 Vlasic Pickles, Peppers & Relish/Kroger Chevrolet Silverado, the veteran driver will be making his 12th start at the track, which has been on the schedule since the inaugural 1995 season, and has a stout record which includes four wins (2010, 2009, 2007, and 1997), eight top-five and eight top-10 finishes and 505 laps led. Since 2005, Hornaday has captured an average starting position of fifth and an average finishing position of 1.83. The Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) driver also made the trip to victory lane in 2000 in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

PINNACLE FOODS: Long-time KHI partner Pinnacle Foods will be on board the No. 33 KHI Chevrolet at Lucas Oil Raceway. Pinnacle Foods has been a supporter of Ron Hornaday and KHI since 2009 and has chosen their Vlasic Pickles, Peppers & Relish brand in conjunction with Armour to be on board the Chevrolet this weekend. Hornaday was paired with the Vlasic brand in 2009 for the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Lucas Oil Raceway. In the No. 33 Chevrolet, the driver started from the eighth position and led 19 laps before finishing sixth.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 team will utilize chassis No. 043 this weekend at Lucas Oil Raceway. The team competed with this particular chassis in 2010 at Nashville Superspeedway, Kansas Speedway and New Hampshire Motor Speedway. This year the KHI team has used this chassis at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway on April 2 and Iowa Speedway on July 16.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Ron Hornaday and the No. 33 Kroger / Tide Chevrolet Silverado team finished 17th after battling handling issues during Truck Series race last Friday night at Nashville Superspeedway. The KHI team started the 150-lap event in the fourth position and raced among the top 10 for the majority of the race before slipping outside of the top 10 with 25 laps to go.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Ron Hornaday

What are your thoughts heading to what might be the last time at LOR?

“Lucas Oil Raceway has such a deep history behind it. I have been blessed to have great success at the track and really enjoy racing there. You can always guarantee a great race at this facility. The fans are always so supportive and great. I’m excited to see them again. We are looking forward to putting on a great show for Pinnacle Foods and the Vlasic brand.”

THOUGHTS FROM THE CREW CHIEF: Jeff Hensley

Are you excited to head to Lucas Oil Raceway?

“I’ve always run really well there but never had the finishes to prove it. Track position is imperative here like it is at most short tracks. Hornaday has one of the best track records here at LOR, so we are hoping to keep that momentum going.”

No. 33 Kroger / Tide Chevrolet Silverado

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race 12 of 25 – Nashville Superspeedway

TROPHY READY: The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will travel back to the 1.333-mile track of Nashville Superspeedway for the Lucas Deep Clean 200 this Friday night. The series’ only four-time champion is excited to head back to the superspeedway. In April, Ron Hornaday and the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) team nearly clenched the victory in event but came in a close second after losing the lead in a tight battle to the checkered flag.

KHI & KROGER TOGETHER AGAIN: KHI and Kroger’s Mid-Atlantic Region continue to build a strong relationship both on and off the track in 2011. Kroger and their vendor partners have combined for six wins and 18 top-10 finishes since the beginning of their relationship in 2009. Their most recent victory came with Hornaday at Texas Motor Speedway on June 10.

ACHIEVEMENTS IN MUSIC CITY: The KHI stable has made a total of 16 Truck Series starts at the D-shaped oval. Nine different drivers have helped KHI earn some impressive statistics that include one win, eight top-five and 11 top-10 finishes while leading 152 laps. Hornaday earned KHI’s sole Truck Series victory at Nashville back in 2009.

CHASSIS HISTORY: Chassis No. 058 will be utilized by the No. 33 team this weekend at Nashville Superspeedway. Chassis No. 058 was raced in May at Charlotte Motor Speedway where the team brought home their fifth top-five finish of the season. The chassis was again used at Kansas Speedway just two weeks later where a blown tire early in the race relegated the team to a 30th-place finish.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Ron Hornaday and the Anderson’s Maple Syrup Chevrolet Silverado team headed to Iowa Speedway last weekend looking to race their way into victory lane. The veteran driver was one of the fastest trucks on track during the 200-lap event but just as Hornaday broke into the top 10, unfortunate circumstances hit the KHI team on lap 27 which put the No. 33 Chevrolet behind for the rest of the night. Hornaday finished the race in the 19th position, one lap down.

What are your thoughts heading back to Nashville?

“I’m really excited to go back to Nashville with this No. 33 team. We had a truck capable of winning the last time we were there, but Kyle Busch had a truck that was just a little faster. I was able to tour the Gibson guitar factory last time I was in town and it really makes you want to win that Guitar even more. The attention to detail and the time that is put into these prestigious guitars is incredible and what makes them so special.”

THOUGHTS FROM THE CREW CHIEF: Jeff Hensley

What are you looking forward to going back to Nashville?

“We about had this Nashville race won back in April. This team has worked really hard over the past couple weeks getting everything prepared for the summer run and I’m really proud of what we have been doing. We certainly have some room to make up, but I feel confident that we can do that at Nashville.”

ONE MORE OFF THE LIST: Four-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday has earned48 victories during his Truck Series career, yet nine tracks on the current season schedule elude him, including the 0.875-mile track of Iowa Speedway. In two starts at the speedway, the veteran driver has completed 371 of 405 laps while earning one top-five and one top-10 finish. The Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) owned Chevrolet Silverado is looking to rebound this weekend after a mid-race incident last week ended the team’s night early at Kentucky Speedway.

SWEET STUFF: Anderson’s Maple Syrup will be the primary sponsor for the No. 33 Chevrolet Silverado this weekend at Iowa Speedway. This third-generation, family-owned and operated business was on board the No. 33 KHI Silverado at Kansas Speedway on June 4 when the team was relegated to a 30th-place finish after a right front tire went down early in the race. The Northwoods, Wis. partner will once again be on board with Hornaday later this season at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway on October 22.

KHI TRUCK SERIES SUCCESS: KHI drivers have made four starts at Iowa Speedway since the Truck Series started racing at the 0.875-mile facility in 2009. The team has collected two top-five and two top-10 finishes at the track. KHI trucks hold an average starting position of 18.2 and an average finishing position of 11.2. Ricky Carmichael, Ron Hornaday and Kenny Schrader have all wheeled a KHI entry around the Newton, Iowa facility.

CHASSIS HISTORY: This weekend at Iowa Speedway the No. 33 team will utilize chassis No. 043. This chassis ran four races during the 2010 Truck Series season, including races at Nashville Superspeedway, Kansas Speedway, Lucas Oil Raceway (LOR) at Indianapolis and New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Hornaday captured two top-five finishes at Nashville and Kansas before earning his first win of the 2010 season at LOR. The team also raced this chassis earlier this season at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway bringing home a third-place finish.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Ron Hornaday and the No. 33 Wisk Laundry Detergent Chevrolet Silverado team ended their night early at Kentucky Speedway in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series UNOH 225 after being involved in an early race incident in turn four. The team was running in the third position when a multiple truck incident left the four-time champion with a 27th-place finish. This finish dropped the No. 33 KHI team to the sixth place in the Championship standings, 37 points out of the lead.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Ron Hornaday

What are your thoughts heading into Iowa?

“Iowa is one of the nine tracks on the schedule that I don’t have a win at. That would be really special to be able to bring home another win for this race team, and to take another track off my no-win list. I have confidence in Jeff Hensley and the No. 33 team that we can get it done this weekend at Iowa.

“This summer stretch of races has always been good to me. I had a huge itch to get back in the truck after Texas, and after our accident last weekend I am really looking forward to these next four consecutive races.”

THOUGHTS FROM THE CREW CHIEF: Jeff Hensley

What has your success been like at Iowa Speedway?

“I have run well at both of the races I have been to at Iowa Speedway, but I don’t have the finishes to show for it. Our chassis this weekend is not new but we finished third with it at Martinsville. I leave KHI for every race feeling confident that we have a shot to win. We have spent a lot of time in the wind tunnel over these past three off weekends making changes and adjustments. We have learned a lot and I hope it shows when we get on the track.

“Iowa Speedway is a racers race track. Racers were involved in building and designing, and it’s a great facility for this series.”

About Anderson’s Maple Syrup:

In 1928, Paul Anderson first shared the distinct taste of Wisconsin’s Northwoods in tins of his delicately sweet maple syrup. Three generations later, the Anderson family carries on its sugarmaking heritage by bottling pure maple syrup from the same sugarbush their grandfather tapped for so many years. A healthy all-natural delicacy, authentic maple syrup is a nutritious, low-calorie alternative to artificial sweeteners and maple-flavored syrups. From its roots in Cumberland, Wisconsin, Anderson’s Maple Syrup can today be found in supermarkets and specialty shops across the country, including Kroger stores.
No. 33 Wisk® Laundry Detergent Chevrolet Silverado

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race 10 of 25 – Kentucky Speedway

LUCKY NUMBER THREE: Four-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday will be racing for win number three at Kentucky Speedway this weekend in the No. 33 Wisk® Laundry Detergent Chevrolet Silverado. This weekend’s UNOH 225 is the second race in a row where Hornaday will be shooting to capture a third victory at a 1.5-mile oval in his Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) Chevrolet.

SUCCESS IN THE BLUEGRASS STATE: Hornaday is credited with two victories at the D-shaped oval, one during the 2006 Truck Series season and the other during his 2009 championship run. In 2006 Hornaday led 47 of the 150-laps, battling from a 22nd-place starting position to bring home his second victory of the season. His 2009 win was the third win in a record breaking five-race win streak that steered him to his fourth championship title.

WISK®: Wisk® Laundry Detergent will be on board the No. 33 Chevrolet Silverado this weekend at Kentucky Speedway, marking their second venture into the NASCAR industry but their first in the Truck Series. Wisk® was the first liquid laundry detergent launched back in 1956. They have since reorganized their brand and are putting an emphasis on the science of stain fighting.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 team will utilize chassis No. 046 this weekend at Kentucky Speedway. This is the same chassis the team took to victory lane at Texas Motor Speedway on June 10. The No. 33 team raced this particular chassis at Dover (Del.) International Speedway in May where the team brought home a ninth-place finish. It also saw competition in 2010 at Iowa Speedway in July and Nashville Superspeedway in August.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Ron Hornaday and the No. 33 Kroger / IAMS Chevrolet Silverado team captured their first victory of the 2011 Truck Series season on June 10 at Texas Motor Speedway. The veteran driver piloted a fast Chevrolet, running in the top five for the majority of the event before being in the right place at the right time on the final restart and taking home the checked flag. The win moved Hornaday to third in the Driver’s Point standings, 33 markers out of the lead.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Ron Hornaday

How do you feel coming off of your first win of 2011?

“It was really great to bring home a win for KHI and for everyone who is a part of this No. 33 team. Jeff Hensley and the guys have been working really hard on these trucks, and this win is momentum for this race team.”

What are you most looking forward to at Kentucky?

“Kentucky is a really fast race track, and has really unique characteristics with the bumps. I’ve got two wins at the track and will definitely be going for my third. The fans have always been so great and supportive at this track, and with all three series there this weekend, they will really have a great experience. We have a new sponsor on board this weekend with Wisk® Laundry Detergent and are hoping to give them a good run in this No. 33 KHI Chevrolet.”

THOUGHTS FROM THE CREW CHIEF: Jeff Hensley

What are your thoughts heading into Kentucky?

“Kentucky is one of my favorite tracks. I am excited about going there. I’ve always wanted to race there more than once a year and finally this year we’ll get to do it. It’ll be nice to have two shots at the win. We get an extra practice session this weekend that we aren’t used to having. Since we don’t get to test too much anymore, it will be nice to have that extra session.”

What are special characteristics about the race track?

“I think the track changes every time we go back. There are bumps in different places and they are difficult to work with, especially in turns one and two. The shock package is very important at this track because of those characteristics.”

About WISK® Laundry Detergent:

No. 33 Utz Snacks Chevrolet Silverado

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race 7 of 25 – Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway

HOME SWEET HOME: Ron Hornaday knows his way around the 1.5-mile track of Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway. Hornaday has been credited with Kevin Harvick Inc,’s (KHI) only two truck wins at the track. The four-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion has five consecutive top-five finishes and five top-10 finishes so far this season but has yet to capture a victory. Hornaday will be looking to claim his first during Friday night’s 134-lap N.C. Education Lottery 200.

In his six starts at Charlotte, Hornaday has completed 811 of 812 laps. The driver dominated the race to lead the team to their first Truck Series victory of the 2007 season, leading 97 laps and holding an average position of 1.669 throughout the race. His second victory at the track came in 2009, the same year Hornaday won his fourth series title. The veteran driver was able to lead 29 laps and held an average place of 3.940, spending only two laps of the 134 lap event outside the top-15.

UTZ SNACKS: The No. 33 Chevrolet Silverado will once again be sporting the Utz Quality Foods paint scheme this weekend at Charlotte as the primary sponsor. The brand will also return as primary sponsor on August 6 where the Truck Series will be returning for their sophomore show at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 team will utilize chassis No. 058 this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This chassis will make its on track debut this weekend as a newly-built chassis at the KHI facility. The team has done extensive wind tunnel testing and has promising numbers on the aero package.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: The No. 33 Utz Snacks Chevrolet team prevailed through what could have easily been an early end to an afternoon bringing home a ninth-place finish for the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) team at Dover (Del.) International Speedway last weekend. Ron Hornaday and the No. 33 team captured their fifth top-10 finish of the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season and maintained their fourth position in the Driver’s Point Standings, only eight points out of the lead.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Ron Hornaday

What are your thoughts and expectations heading into Charlotte?

“Everyone wants to win and loves to win at Charlotte. It’s so close to home, and it’s great to be near family and friends. We are bringing a brand new truck to the track. Jeff Hensley and the guys at the shop are doing such a great job, and we are really looking forward to the race.”

THOUGHTS FROM THE CREW CHIEF: Jeff Hensley

What is tricky about Charlotte?

“Ever since they repaved the track back in 2005 it is a lot smoother. We have been given a harder tire there in the past which in turn makes it harder to get into the race track. The bumps are starting to come back in Turns 3 and 4 but we are still searching for more grip.

“When you have a harder tire, a good aero package will help you balance out. We have spent a lot of time in the wind tunnel working on getting the drag out and getting good down force. The guys on this No. 33 team have worked really hard on this truck package and getting all the details right. Having the right people working together makes all the difference”.

The big screen TV has been unveiled and will be ready for Charlotte. Are you excited for that?

“That is pretty neat. I hope that I can see it from on top of the pit box. I will certainly be watching some of the race from the big screen. It’ll feel like I’m sitting at home watching the race, on a much larger scale.”

No. 33 Steak-umm Chevrolet Silverado

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race 5 of 25 – Nashville Superspeedway

TAKE-TWO: Ron Hornaday found his way around the 1.333-mile track of Nashville Superspeedway and took the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) Chevrolet to victory lane in August 2009. The four-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion will be heading to Nashville hoping to cross the finish line first for the second time in his career during the 150 lap Bully Hill Vineyards 200 on Friday night.

Hornaday dominated the 154-lap (green-white-checker finish) event during his 2009 Truck Series championship quest. He started the Nashville race in the fourth position and never fell out of the top-five. He had 46 of the fastest laps during the race and lead nearly three-fourths of the race with an average running position of 1.338.

HIP-HIP HOORAY: The Truck Series could not succeed without the continued support from the broadcast channel SPEED. This weekend SPEED will celebrate the 200th truck race broadcast. Since being involved in the Truck Series starting in 2001, KHI attributes much success based on the continual coverage and support from the SPEED organization. Thank you, SPEED for all of your hard work and helping make the Truck Series.

STEAK-UMM HUNGRY FOR THE WIN: After facing the wrath of Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway and finishing 28th following a wreck on lap 76, the No. 33 Chevrolet Silverado will once again display the Steak-umm colors as the primary sponsor for the four-time champion. This is the second of three primary races on the No. 33 truck. The “Philly Cheese Steak” brand will return to the track later this season at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway in October where Ron Hornaday will look to defend his win from October 2010.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 team will utilize chassis No. 045 this weekend at Nashville Superspeedway. Chassis No. 045 is a newly-built chassis at the KHI facility and will make its on track debut this weekend. With a visit to the wind tunnel for advanced testing, the team is confident in its aero package.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Ron Hornaday and the No. 33 Cooked Perfect Chevrolet took to action at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway for the Kroger 250 where the veteran driver was looking to find his way back to victory lane for the first time since capturing the win at the track back in October. The team was able to race with consistency around the 0.526-mile oval and bring home a third-place finish, Hornaday’s 12th top-10 finish in18 races at Martinsville.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Ron Hornaday

How do the tires react different on concrete than asphalt?

“Unfortunately the weather in Nashville is always so good. Therefore, getting rubber down on the track is difficult. You only get one set of tires to practice on so you try to save that set. You don’t run as many laps in the first practice as you would in the second.”

What does it take to win at Nashville and what is special to you about it?

“The whole package; It is the team, equipment, sponsors. Everyone driving puts a little more effort into that race because we all want to be able to take the Gibson guitar home. That trophy is one of the nicest ones we get. The fans are really great at Nashville. Walking out to driver introductions, seeing the fans and being able to sign autographs for them. It’s Nashville. Everything might be bigger in Texas, but everything is big in Nashville.”

THOUGHTS FROM THE CREW CHIEF: Jeff Hensley

What is something unique to you about Nashville?

“Nashville is one of those tracks that the Cup drivers don’t have an advantage over us. The Truck Series and the Nationwide Series are exclusive to that track, so with the exclusion of Kyle Busch in the spring last year, you usually have a full-time Truck Series driver in victory lane. That’s exciting for us.”

No. 33 Cooked Perfect Meatballs Chevrolet Silverado

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race 4 of 25 – Martinsville (Va.) Speedway

BACK FOR REDEMTION: The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series returns to the 0.526-mile oval this weekend where the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) stable was able to sweep both races during the 2010 season. It was KHI’s most recent trip to Martinsville last fall when four-time champion Ron Hornaday was able to capture his first victory at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, which had eluded him for 16 previous starts. KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick will head into the weekend as the defending race winner, visiting victory lane after leading 187 of 250 laps. Ron Hornaday finished second and brought home a one-two finish for KHI in that spring event.

JUST PERFECT: The No. 33 has paired up with Home Market Foods and their leading brand of frozen meatballs, Cooked Perfect Meatballs, for the Saturday afternoon event. This will be Cooked Perfect Meatballs’ first venture into NASCAR as they look to put their black, red, and gold No. 33 Cooked Perfect Meatballs Chevrolet Silverado into victory lane with the four-time Truck Series champion behind the wheel. Cooked Perfect Meatballs will be back as primary sponsor of the No. 33 team at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway in August.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 team will utilize chassis No. 043 this weekend at Martinsville.Chassis No. 043 is no stranger to victory lane at Martinsville Speedway, as it was driven to the win by boss Kevin Harvick last spring. Ron Hornaday also took this chassis to victory lane at Lucas Oil Raceway in July during the summer stretch of races.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: The No. 33 KHI Chevrolet Silverado team tried hard to tame the ‘Lady in Black’ at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway for the Too Tough To Tame 200. Hornaday brought home a solid runner-up finish which moved him up four positions in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Driver Point standings. Hornaday currently sits sixth on the charts only 16 points out of the lead.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Ron Hornaday

What are your expectations going into Martinsville?

“Now with a win under my belt at Martinsville, I have a lot of confidence coming into this weekend. We have the defending race-winning chassis, and with the way my No. 33 crew has been performing on pit road and Jeff Hensley on the box, we are definitely the ones to beat.

“Martinsville is a track where anything can happen. It’s not so much how well you race but how well you can escape. There is a lot of beating and banging amongst the trucks at Martinsville. If you are able to keep your truck out in front and away from the wreckage, you have a good chance at a solid finish.

“We have got a really nice looking truck this weekend with Cooked Perfect Meatballs on board with us. It’s exciting to have a new partner at the race track and new to the industry. We hope we put on a great show for them and bring home a win for Cooked Perfect Meatballs and KHI.”

THOUGHTS FROM ATOP THE PIT BOX: Jeff Hensley

With Martinsville as your home track, what does it mean to come and race here?

“Martinsville is special. Just driving 10 minutes to the house and getting to sleep in my own bed at the end of a busy day at the track is really nice. Walking into the track this week I definitely feel an extra bit of confidence being here with KHI and Ron Hornaday.

“As a crew chief, you really have to work strategy here. To win at this race track is extra special because it is a hard place to win. You pretty much have to have everything go your way because there are so many factors that can put you first or put you last.

“I have four wins here as a crew chief and almost 60 NASCAR races combined as driver and crew chief at Martinsville. Those four wins were very special but there are probably five additional races I should’ve won. We are extremely excited to see how things turn out this weekend for the No. 33 team.”

(February 27, 2011) – The No. 33 Sherwin-Williams Chevrolet team was ready for action during Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at Phoenix International Raceway. Four-time series champion Ron Hornaday wheeled the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) Chevrolet Silverado with a solid performance and ended the caution filled night with a third-place finish, shooting up the charts from 28th to 10th in the point standings.

The one-day event began with a one hour and fifty-minute practice session, followed by mid-afternoon qualifying at the 1.0-mile tri-oval. Hornaday was the 43rd truck out to qualify and was able to solidify a fourth-place starting position.

The green flag waved for the Lucas Oil 150 and the red, white and blue Sherwin-Williams machine remained in the fourth position for the first quarter of the race.

The first of eight caution flags came out on lap 43 for debris on the track left from another competitor making contact with the wall. During the caution period crew chief Jeff Hensley led Hornaday down pit road to top off with fuel and take four tires. With a solid pit stop, Hornaday lined back up in third position for the restart on lap 49.

A truck spun in turn two to bring out the second caution of the night on lap 59. The No. 33 KHI team elected to stay out and Hornaday was reminded to save fuel where he could. At the halfway mark, the Sherwin-Williams Chevrolet was fighting tight conditions as Hornaday followed KHI teammate Clint Boywer who was running in the second position.

Anticipating green-flag pit stops, the third caution flag dropped at lap 102 an accident in Turn 3, allowing the team to regroup and make the right adjustments to free up the vehicle. Taking four fresh tires, fuel and making a wedge adjustment, the No. 33 team was ready to make the most of the remaining laps.

Multiple back-to-back cautions flew over the next 30 laps but Hornaday was able to maintain his third-place restart position and hang on for the final green-flag run with 11 laps to go. On the final lap, the No. 33 Sherwin-Williams Chevrolet steadily held track position and captured a third-place finish. Kyle Busch took the checkered flag with KHI weekend teammate Clint Bowyer taking the second position.

A great night for the KHI Truck Series family was marked by two top-five finishes and a top-15 for Rookie of the Year contender, Nelson Piquet Jr., who was able to bring home a clean truck and a 13th-place finish. The Truck Series will take a weekend off and return to action on March 12 at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway, the track “Too Tough to Tame.”

Comments from driver, Ron Hornaday:

“Phoenix is one of my favorite tracks and it was a great night for the No. 33 Sherwin-Williams Chevrolet.” Hornaday stated after the race. “We were just way too tight. If we can work on this small adjustment at the shop, we’ll be able to unload at the track that much better. We’ll be the truck to beat.

“This was a great points night for the No. 33 team and for KHI. With Kyle and Clint not running for the Truck Series championship it allowed us to capitalize and make up 13 positions in the point standings. We are now 10th in the Driver’s Point standings and only 14 points out of first.”

(Nov 19)- As the 2010 season drew to a close, Timothy Peters was determined to get one last solid finish to end the year on a high note. Arriving in Florida on Thursday afternoon, the team went to work on the #17 to give Peters a competitive truck for the race. He qualified 15th for the Ford 200. When the race started on Friday night, hopes were high for a finish that reflected the solid year the Red Horse Racing team had experienced. Winning the season opener at Daytona, Peters wanted to “book-end” his season with another win in the last event. Despite the efforts, the #17 Toyota Tundra was a hand full all night. Peters battled a tight condition that persisted for most of the 134-lap event. Halfway through the race, a right front flat caused the #17 to make contact with the wall. Peters was able to rally back to a 17th place finish and end the year with his head held high.

Peters hit the track for the first time during practice on Thursday evening. Fourth quick overall the team felt they had their truck in good shape for the race. Rain showers moved into the area and postponed the final practice until Friday morning. After the final session, Peters and the #17 team felt confident in their Toyota Tundra for the season finale event under the lights at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

When the green flag dropped, Peters knew he had only one more opportunity in 2010 to get back to Victory Lane. With his eye on the prize, he went to work, moving up to the 11th spot by lap four. He radioed the team that his Tundra was tight getting into turn one and in the center of turns three and four.

The first caution came out on lap 30 and crew chief Jeff Hensley brought his driver to pit road.

Picking up four fresh tires, fuel, track bar and air pressure adjustments, Hensley promised Peters he was making a big swing at fixing the tight condition.

Peters restarted 12th on lap 35 and raced his way back to the 11th spot on lap 60. Another caution on lap 74 prompted the team to bring Peters back to pit road. Not seeing enough improvement in the truck, Hensley called for another round of changes. Peters picked up four fresh tires, fuel and air pressure adjustments. He lined up ninth for the restart.

Taking the green again on lap 80, Peters was trying to work his way further into the top-10. On lap 88, the right front tire of the #17 went flat and, at the speeds Peters was running, caused him to slide up the race track and into the outside wall. The contact wasn’t too severe but Peters came to pit road for fresh tires. The team changed just right side tires and repaired the right front damage as best as they could on pit road.

Peters lined up 23rd for the restart on lap 93. Knowing his truck was faster than where it was running, he was determined to get back the spots he had lost. Peters moved into the 21st position just before another caution waved on lap 103. Peters headed back to pit road for fresh left side tires on lap 105. The team also made a track bar adjustment to help the condition of the truck. He restarted 18th on lap 110. With time running out and only 24 laps remaining, Peters refused to give up. He climbed to the 16th spot on lap 111, just as another caution came out. Debris on the race track brought out the red flag so clean-up crews could make sure the track was clear.

He clawed his way to 12th by lap 118. Another late caution came out on lap 126 setting up another restart. With only four laps remaining, Peters restarted 11th. The tire combination on the truck was making it very loose late in the race and Peters was really struggling to drive it. In the final laps he slipped back to the 17th spot before the checkered flag fell. Disappointed with the results of the night, Peters was happy to reflect on the great 2010 season he had experienced. With one win, two poles, 16 top-10 and five top-five finishes, it was a great year for the #17 Red Horse Racing team.

“It’s kind of sad coming to the last race of the year,” Peters said. “This has been an awesome season. Winning Daytona right out of the gate and picking up two poles, it really has been a great year. We were lucky enough to capture five top-five and 16 top-10 finishes. Obviously I wish we could get the points back that we lost to mechanical failures but that’s just how it goes sometimes. It doesn’t take away from the success we had this year. Now we need to carry the momentum we built this season into next year.”
