Jeff Agnew passed J.P. Morgan for the lead on lap 147 and never looked back in winning Saturday night’s USARacing Pro Cup Series 250 Presented by Strutmasters.com at South Boston Speedway, becoming the fifth different winner in six races this season.

Agnew, of Floyd, Va., qualified fifth but worked his way through the pack to pass pole sitter Caleb Holman for the lead on lap 75, shortly before a one-hour rain delay.

Agnew was fifth after pitting for fuel on lap 83 but quickly made his way through the field again to shoot past Charlotte, N.C., driver J.P. Morgan, and Agnew stayed ahead the rest of the way in a race that was delayed five times by cautions.

Morgan finished second, with Brad Rogers of Mooresville, N.C., Tyler Young of Midland, TX, Matt Lofton of Roxboro, N.C., and Holman of Abingdon, Va., rounding out the top five finishers.

Agnew’s margin of victory was 1.522 seconds in a race that lasted two hours and 26 minutes and featured five lead changes among four drivers, including Agnew, Morgan, Young and Holman, who qualified on the pole with a time of 15.842 sec.
