Blake and the team had a strong Soul Surfer the Movie Dodge during the race but it all went downhill after getting a flat RF tire and making contact with the outside wall. The team however worked really hard to get the MacDonald Motorsports No. 81 back on the track and were able to salvage a 33rd place finish. This keeps them in the top-30 in owner’s points and locks the Daystar Dodge into the field at Texas.

MacDonald Motorsports has 8 career starts at the lightning fast 1.5 mile track in Fort Worth, Texas. Their career best start was 14th in 2009 with Kevin Hamlin driving. Their best finish at Texas is a 23rd place result with Bobby Hillin Jr. behind the wheel, also in 2009.

“This will be a big weekend for us and we really need a good finish to get some momentum going. I am really excited to get together with everyone from Daystar. It’s their home town and we have a lot going on off the track, including a booth on vendor row were I will spend some time signing autographs and hanging out with the fans. I am also really excited for all the practice we get this weekend. That means more seat time for me and that is something I can’t get enough of.”

This weekend is the home race for MacDonald Motorsports and Blake Koch’s sponsor, Daystar Television Network. Blake and the team will undoubtedly have a lot of guests with them in the garage area and will want to perform well on the track for everyone at Daystar. Soul Surfer the Movie
The primary sponsor last week in California will be on board again this weekend as well. Soul Surfer is the inspiring true story of Bethany Hamilton, a young surfer who lost her arm to a shark attack at age 13. Bethany didn’t quit there and four years later, realized her dream of becoming a professional surfer in 2007. The movie stars Anna Sophia Robb as Bethany, as well as Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid, and Carrie Underwood. The film is an adaptation of the book, Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family, and Fighting to Get Back on the Board, written by Beth herself. After the race, be sure to get out to your local movie theater and catch Soul Surfer as it will be playing in theaters everywhere starting April 8th.
