Mooresville, NC (May 12, 2010)— Keyed-Up Motorsports owner, Raymond Key, announced today that the number 90 Chevrolet Impala will go on hiatus until funding is secured.  The team has reduced staff but is still in operation, and will not participate in the All-Star Event weekend or the Coca-Cola 600 event as previously declared.

“We look forward to returning to the schedule,” stated owner Raymond Key. “At this time we are taking a break from the schedule and working on securing sponsorship for future races.”  Keyed-Up has not participated in an event since the Phoenix race in April, where driver Scott Riggs finished 28th.  Riggs maintained a top-25 position with three laps to go when a right front tire blew, causing the final caution of the night. “I was very happy with Scott’s performance at Phoenix,” added Key, “and I welcome him back to the drivers’ seat when we return to the schedule.”

The team recently announced a “Fan Car” promotion, a program that reached out to fans to help secure funds in exchange for their name on the number 90 car at the All-Star Showdown race.  Due to the reduced schedule, this program will be stopped immediately, and all funds returned to those who had participated. “I want to thank all of those who put money into this program,” stated Key, “but I think with the limited amount of time before the All-Star event, we just didn’t have enough time to secure the appropriate funding needed to participate.”

As mentioned in an earlier press release, the team will continue its efforts in securing a sponsor and will not “start and park” for funding. “I set out with this team to race, not to start and park,” said Key.  Keyed-Up continues to seek sponsorship opportunities for the remainder of the 2010 season, as well as events for the 2011 season.
