BRASELTON, GA (November 28, 2009) – Lanier National (GA) Speedway held its 2009 Championship Banquet Sunday, November 22, 2009. Kristen Wallace showed up ready to accept her third-place trophy for the speedway’s Super Truck division, but got more than she bargained for.

Wallace was also presented with the LNS Rookie-of-the-Year award for her accomplishments behind the wheel of the All Seasons Construction truck. The Kristen Wallace Racing team not only came home third in the standings and snagged the ROY honor, but propelled Kristen to her first win as well.

Barely old enough to legally drive to and from the race track; Kristen was quick to say that she wants more.

“I’m satisfied, but my goal is to be the champion and have as many wins as possible,” said the Jasper, GA driver. “[The Rookie-of-the-Year award] means a lot in my own opinion. I did not even expect to receive this award and I was just so happy to be the one who walked off the stage with an extra trophy for something so great.”

Wallace says that bad racing luck has plagued her and her team all year, but believes that a lot of seat time and the arsenal of chassis notes they obtained throughout the year will benefit them in 2010.

Super Truck racing as a primary function of KWR is now behind Kristen and her family-owned team. A few Pro Late Model starts in 2009 ended with a mix of mechanical failure resulting in crashes, but the focus for KWR is full-speed ahead into the Late Model realm for the coming season. Kristen will be competing in the Georgia Asphalt Series (GAS) in 2010, as well as other select events. The team was not able to fulfill their Alabama 200 hopes at South Alabama Speedway this year, and will make efforts to do so in 2010. The same applies to The World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports (GA) Park.

Kristen’s goals for her second full season of racing full-sized machines are very simple: finish races.

“My goal is to finish every race – hopefully top-10 or even top-5 – and get more experience in the Late Model. If I do also race a few truck races, my goal for trucks would be the same as for Late Model races: finish. It does not matter what I’m driving; my goal will be to finish the best position possible.
