Go Green Racing

Go Green Racing is excited to announce the addition of Paul and Tim Andrews to an already impressive list of talented crew members to Go Green Racing for the 2012 NASCAR season. Paul Andrews, a former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Crew Chief, will lead the No. 19 Go Green Racing Ford Fusion in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series beginning at Bristol Motor Speedway on March 16th.

Bristol Motor Speedway will also mark the first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series attempt for Tim Andrews. Following Bristol, the team expects to compete in an additional ten NSCS races.

“Tim proved to us last year that he can get a car into the show, and at this level, that is what it is all about,” said Archie St. Hilaire, Team Owner for Go Green Racing. “The chemistry between Paul and Tim is outstanding. I think that Tim has shown us that he deserves a shot and I have always been a
believer in giving a guy an opportunity.”

Tim Andrews is also scheduled to compete in select NASCAR Nationwide Series races as driver of the No. 37 Go Green Racing Ford Mustang. Calling the shots as crew chief on the No. 37 will be Dave Ingram. Ingram joins Go Green Racing after serving as crew chief for MacDonald Motorsports
last season.

“I feel very fortunate to get this opportunity,” said Tim Andrews. “I have dreamed about being in a Cup car and to do it with my father’s help is unbelievable. I believe in him and he believes in me, it just gives us that much more confidence.”

Paul Andrews is no stranger at Bristol Motor Speedway. As a NSCS crew chief, Paul has earned one pole, two wins, and numerous top-five finishes at the famous half-mile track. “I am really looking forward to this opportunity with Go Green Racing,” said Paul Andrews, also a Maine native. “I was able to work with them at the end of the year and was very impressed with their operations. To be able to work with Timmy for his first Cup race is very special to me.”

St. Hilaire also has big expectations for the 2012 season.

“Bringing on quality guys to Go Green Racing like Paul (Andrews) and Dave (Ingram) is huge for our organization,” St. Hilaire said. “I feel that Paul, Dave, and Clinton (Cram) as our three crew chiefs will bring our entire program to the next level.”

Go Green Racing has purchased their NSCS cars from Roush Fenway Racing and will run the Roush/Yates FR9 motor at all 2012 Cup races. The entire team has been working hard to get all three teams prepared for 2012 at their new shop in Mooresville, NC which will accommodate the
team’s expanded growth.

Go Green Racing has scheduled its NSCS schedule around Paul Andrew’s commitments with Cunningham Motorsports and their ARCA program.

She has been both a stunt driver and a precision driver for Honda. In 2010, however, she had an oppurtunity to drive a stock car – and her career took a different turn.

Dufault scored an opportunity to race the 2011 ARCA Series presented by Menards for the No. 12 Tony Marks Racing Dodge team. She scored one top 10-finish and put together several consistent runs, but also crashed several times, as she acclimated to the heavier handling of 1.5 ton machines. Then Dufault got a one-of-a-kind opportunity. In August, she piloted the No. 81 MacDonald Motorsports Dodge in front of a hometown crowd at Montreal’s Circuit Gilles Villeneuve road course, finishing 30th in a field with several fellow Candians and a race won by Aussie Marcos Ambrose. While the result was not what she wanted, Dufault’s persistence to race (she has modeled for both Maxim and been a display girl on The Price Is Right to fund her racing efforts) paid off.

As exciting as that step was, Dufault’s status for the 2012 racing season is uncertain. She tells News/Talk WSB that Jared Marks will drive the No. 12 Dodge for the ARCA Season opener at Daytona on February 8th, though she did go and help the team shake that car down at a three-day test this past weekend. Dufault says that despite the marketability of female drivers, the economy is tough on motorsports as a whole and limits everyone’s opporuntities to climb the motorsports ladder.

However, one thing is certain; Mooresville, NC based NASCAR Nationwide Series Team MacDonald Motorsports (MM) is looking forward to the 2012 season.

Randy MacDonald team owner of Mac Donald Motorsports and former NASCAR Driver is excited about the future of MacDonald Motorsports. “We had a great season in 2011 says McDonald, as we began to reposition our program and lay the foundation and blueprint for the future of our race team, we were able to run competitively in the top-15, and going into the final race of the season at Homestead/Miami Speedway, our rookie driver Blake Koch is in contention to take the “NNS Rookie of the Year title”. Said Mac Donald. As Mac Donald Motorsports will be moving on from Koch in 2012, the team’s planned expansion leaves opportunities available for drivers and employees alike.

“In this economy it is difficult for any team to secure a sponsor. It ‘s a shame things have become so expensive and almost out of reach for most drivers’ dream of becoming the next ‘NASCAR star’, so we are trying our best to run a smart business and facilitate those dreams”. With hard work, smart budgeting, low overhead and dedicated veterans of the sport coming on board, MacDonald Motorsports is able to deliver more affordable options.

Mac Donald Motorsports is offering fantastic opportunities for drivers that do not have the financial means of coming up with all that money. “If a driver has a small amount of money or even a potential sponsor that we can assist in securing or partnering with any of our relationships through opportunities and business to business, we encourage them to call and we will do our best to help guide them on achieving their dreams. We have the ability to offer creative and valuable options for a reasonable budget, same great experience, phenomenal marketing possibilities and a chance at accomplishing their dream of racing with a team in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. We are excited about the up and coming talent we currently have under the MacDonald Motorsports umbrella and we are looking forward to what the future holds”. Said Randy.

Whether a driver wants a Late Model Program, K& N Series Team, or if they are ready for the big leagues in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, Mac Donald Motorsports offers opportunities for drivers and can help position and pave the way with an affordable program for their future development and career in NASCAR.

A fifth place finish in the driver’s standings will mark Reed’s second best season of his career. In 2005, Sorenson finished the season 4th in the standings with two wins driving for Chip Ganassi Racing. This season, Reed has driven 29 races for Turner Motorsports and now four races with MacDonald Motorsports. This year, Sorenson added a win to his resume at Road America as well as seven top-5’s, and 18 top-10’s.

Reed at Homestead….. In four previous NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at the 1.5 mile progressively banked oval in South Florida, Reed Sorenson’s best finish was a 4th. This came in 2004 in only his 5th ever start in the series driving for Chip Ganassi Racing. Reed will be looking better that finish this Saturday in his Bullet Liner/Foametix No. 82 Dodge.

Reed Sorenson

Meet Reed at Fan-Fest….. Fans will have the chance to meet Reed on Thursday, November 17th at Homestead in the NASCAR Championship Drive Fan-Fest events. The event will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a 20 minute, on-stage Question and Answer session with the drivers. Then at 5:20, fans will have the chance to meet and get autographs from the participating drivers until 6:00 p.m.

Rough weekend at Phoenix….. The Phoenix race was definitely one that Reed and the Bullet Liner/Foametix No. 82 team would like to forget. After getting damage early on in the race, Reed was back on the track before getting a flat right front tire and slamming into the outside wall. Reed was un-injured in the accident but the same couldn’t be said for the MacDonald Motorsports No. 82.

My crew chief, John Monsam, has been making my Daystar.com No. 81 faster and faster each week and we’ve got to keep that going at Homestead. Winning Rookie of the Year would be a dream come true and I’m going to do whatever it takes to accomplish that goal.”

Can Blake Win Roty?….. Even after beating Timmy Hill five races in a row, Blake now finds himself trailing Ryan Truex by three points heading into the season finale. The 8th place finish by Truex earned him three bonus points for finishing in the top-10, putting him three ahead of Koch and Hill. There is a lot that goes into the voting process for winning the Rookie of the Year title so anything still can happen at Homestead. Even if Blake does not end up actually winning the prestigious award, it was still a banner year for both Blake and the MacDonald Motorsports team. Both turned a lot of heads throughout the season and should be very proud of their efforts.

Blake matched his best qualifying result of his career by gridding 13th for second consecutive week. Koch was equally as strong during the race, running in the top-20 all day long and recording his career best finish on an oval with a 14th place result.

Blake Appearance at Fan-Fest….. Fans will have the chance to meet Blake on Thursday, November 17th at Homestead in the NASCAR Championship Drive Fan-Fest events. The event will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a 20 minute, on-stage Question and Answer session with the drivers. Then at 5:20, fans will have the chance to meet and get autographs from the participating drivers until 6:00 p.m.

After winning the Sunoco Rookie of the Race award last weekend in Texas, Blake has moved even with Timmy Hill for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year. With momentum on the side of the Daystar No. 81 team, Blake hopes he can take the lead this weekend in Phoenix.

“The February race at Phoenix was my first race for MacDonald Motorsports this season,” explained Blake Koch. “This time around I am much more confortable in the race car and we have a ton of momentum going into the weekend.”

Blake Koch

Blake was two points behind Timmy for much of the summer before winning Rookie of the Race at Charlotte in October. Another Rookie of the Race award last weekend in Texas brought Blake to a tie with Hill for the first time this season. Fellow Rookie Ryan Truex now sits three points behind Koch and Hill.

In 11 short track races this season, Koch and Hill are virtually dead-even. Timmy Hill has finished ahead of Koch in six of those races while Blake has come out on top in five. Whoever comes out of Phoenix with a better finish will hold a huge advantage heading into the final race of the season in Homestead.

The two have had a long history racing together in the Nationwide Series, dating back to 2006.

“It’s great to have DJ back in our car this weekend at Texas,” said team owner Randy MacDonald. “Northern Provincial Pipelines have been a long time supporter of him and we hope to give them a good showing this weekend in Phoenix.”

44 of those 47 career NNS starts by Kennington have been for MacDonald Motorsports. In five starts at the mile oval in Phoenix, DJ had his best finish in 2008 with a solid 22nd place. Reed Sorenson drove The Bullet Liner/Foametix No. 82 Dodge to a solid 16th place result. Blake Koch netted a 22nd place finish in his Daystar.com No. 81 Chevy earning him Rookie of the Race and a tie with Timmy Hill for Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year.

Starting 22nd, Reed Sorenson ran as high as 14th in the Bullet Liner/Foametix No. 82 during the course of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge at TMS. Running 21st with 50 laps to go, Reed and the MacDonald Motorsports team scratched and clawed their way to an impressive 16th place finish.

Blake Koch had his best qualifying result of the year with an outstanding effort to put him 13th on the starting grid. During the course of the race, the Daystar.com No. 81 seemed to have a motor problem developing. The car just wasn’t putting out the power that the team was hoping for but the team pushed hard to the finish. The 22nd place result was enough to earn Blake another Sunoco Rookie of the Race award. This puts him into a tie with Timmy Hill for Rookie of the Year with just two races remaining.

“I’m so pumped heading in these final two races being tied with Timmy,” explained Blake Koch. “I know our Daystar team can pull this off if we can keep running the way we have been the last few races.”

Reed Sorenson remains fifth in the NNS driver’s standings but just five points behind Justin Allgaier and Aric Almirola, who are tied third. Blake Koch stays solidly in 18th, while the MacDonald Motorsports No. 81 remains 25th in the owner’s standings.

Burtin Polymer Laboratories (BPL) has announced that they will be the primary sponsor on Reed Sorenson’s No. 82 Dodge for the remainder of the season, starting last Saturday at Texas. MacDonald Motorsports and Sorenson and very happy to represent BPL in these final races while growing exposure for their great products, The Bullet Liner and Foametix Spray Foam Solution.

Next week, Blake Koch will be in his normal Daystar.com No. 81 Dodge, while Reed Sorenson will be in The Bullet Liner/Foametix No. 82 Dodge. The Wypall 200 at Phoenix International Raceway can be seen live this Saturday at 3:30 pm on ESPN2.

Kennington is once again teaming with two successful race teams for the upcoming NASCAR race weekend at Phoenix International Raceway.

DJ Kennington will join forces fellow Canadian Randy MacDonald to compete in the Nationwide Series race in the Northern Provincial Pipeline / Whitemud Mechanical / Mahindra Tractors Dodge and will also pilot a Bill McAnally entry for the K & N West Series event with the same sponsorship backing.

Over several seasons Kennington raced for Randy MacDonald in the NASCAR Nationwide series and had several strong runs at Phoenix. “In 2008 and 2009 we had pretty good races” said Kennington. “We gained a bunch of positions in each race and I know Randy will have a well prepared car again for us to race” he added.

At the All Star Showdown at Irwindale, California earlier this year Kennington had a sensational run for Bill McAnally. Kennington was competing in the event for the first time and finished second in the race. “The car was a little tight to make a push for the win but it was really strong. We had such a good race that we decided to run the spring race together at Phoenix and we finished top ten. I’m looking forward to working with Bill McAnally racing again” said Kennington.

A new wrinkle to the weekend action is the newly resurfaced Phoenix International Raceway. Over the summer the track was reconfigured during prior to the new asphalt going down and Kennington is looking forward to racing on the smooth surface. “I really enjoy racing at PIR” said the driver. “It’s a fun, fast track and the new pavement should make for some really good racing”.

This double header weekend is being made possible with support from several of Kennington’s long time sponsors. “Dwight Kennedy at Northern Provincial Pipeline has helped us out for many years, so have the folks at Mahindra Tractors” said Kenning ton. “It’s nice to have Whitemud Mechanical joining us as well. This whole team appreciates everyone’s support and we’re going to work really hard to put on a good show for them” he stated.

Practice begins on Thursday for the Nationwide Series. Qualifying and both races will take place on Saturday November 12th. Race fans will be able to watch the Nationwide race on TSN in Canada & ESPN in the US at 3PM Eastern time. SPEED will have coverage of the K & N Series race beginning at 5:30PM Eastern.

(MOORESVILLE, NC) October 27, 2011 – MacDonald Motorsports is proud to announce that Reed Sorenson will remain in the No. 82 Dodge Challenger for the final 3 races of the NASCAR Nationwide Series season. After leaving Turner Motorsports three weeks ago, Sorenson joined MacDonald Motorsports at Kansas and also the following week at Charlotte. The team however is seeking out more sponsorship to help finish off the season.

“I’m really happy to have Reed in the No. 82 for the final 3 races,” explained Randy MacDonald. “He’s a great racer and I want to try and help him finish the season out. If we can get some more sponsorship on the car for these last few races it would be a big help though.”

Following Reed’s arrival at MacDonald Motorsports 3 weeks ago, the media was buzzing in his garage stall. A top-5 driver in points changing teams with 5 races remaining in the season in virtually unheard of. MacDonald Motorsports jumped at the chance of having a top driver in their car and helping Reed finish of his season on the right foot.

Two weeks ago at NASCAR’s home track in Charlotte, NC, Sorenson drove the Crusader Staffing/THINK PINK No. 82 Dodge. The car was very quick in practice and he finished the final session 11th on the board out of 50 cars. Sorenson followed that up by earning the team their best starting position of the season with a 15th place qualifying result. He was strong in the race as well, running much of the time inside the top-15.

Reed has had a stellar season thus far with 1 win, 7 top-5’s, and 18 top-10s. He currently sits 5th in the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series standings. Over his 8 year career in NASCAR, Sorenson has racked up 5 Sprint Cup Series top-5’s, 4 Nationwide Series wins, and 38 Nationwide Series top-5 finishes.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available for Sorenson and the MacDonald Motorsports No. 82 for the final three races of the year. The next event takes place November 5th at Texas Motor Speedway while the following two take place in Phoenix, AZ and Homestead, FL. Interested parties can contact MacDonald Motorsports at any time for more information.

Speedway Saturday afternoon.

Enfinger on the heels of a strong 12th place NCWTS finish last weekend at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway driving for his Late Model-owned Bragg Racing Group (BRG) is excited about having the opportunity to carry the Allgaier Motorsports name at one of the most historic short tracks on the circuit.

“I’m very excited about running Martinsville this weekend with Allgaier Motorsports,” said Enfinger, who placed fourth in the final ARCA championship standings. “It’s been something we have been talking about for a while now. Mike (Allgaier), Justin (Allgaier), myself and everyone involved is putting a lot of effort into making this transition a success. This is actually a truck that they (Allgaier Motorsports) built last year for Justin to run but it never worked out. So, now I’m the lucky one that gets to sit behind the wheel.”

The team will be able to hoist the No. 36 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series as the operation tries to keep as much of the ARCA sentimental elements together as possible. The family-owned team will also welcome England’s Stove Works as the primary marketing partner for Saturday’s short track showdown.

Grant Enfinger

“It’s always great to see companies entering the world of Motorsports especially in a tough economy,” added Enfinger. “I know I would be speaking on behalf of everyone at Allgaier Motorsports by saying that we cannot begin to thank Ron (England) enough for helping us get to the track this weekend.”

With 41 trucks pre-entered for the final short track contest of the season, the Allgaier Motorsports team will have to beat five other competitors in order to make the starting grid. To help them with the task, the team has turned to veteran racing crew chief John Monsam who will call the shots on the No. 36 England’s Stove Works Dodge Ram this weekend.

After a lengthy tenure in the ARCA Racing Series, Monsam recently has been working in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at MacDonald Motorsports where he is trying to guide rookie driver Blake Koch to the 2011 Rookie of the Year honors.

“I’m looking forward to being on the same team with John this weekend,” Enfinger added. “He has been around racing forever and I’ve known him a long time. Plus, he is well respected in the community, so it just makes sense to have him call the shots on Saturday.”

Despite Enfinger’s impressive short track resume in various types of racecars, the Fairhope, Alabama has never made the trip to Martinsville Speedway. Obviously thankful for the opportunity and eager to roar onto the pavement, the 26-year old is remaining optimistic.

“I’ve never actually raced at Martinsville, but I’ve raced Late Models at tracks similar to it,” the 26-year sounded. “I think coming off a good run at Talladega with another new team to NASCAR will provide a little momentum and feel like I gained some respect from the full timers in the garage. I honestly feel like if we can race in the top-10 and show some good speed and bring home a whole for Mike Allgaier and the entire Allgaier Motorsports team, then everyone will consider the weekend a success.”

Allgaier Motorsports will unveil further plans for its NASCAR Camping World Truck Series effort in the near future.

The Kroger 200 (200 laps / 105.2 miles) is the 23rd of 25 races on the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series tour. The first of two practice sessions is set to begin on Friday, October 28th from 11:00 a.m. – 12:20 p.m. Final practice which consists of a one hour and 10 minute session begins at 2:10 p.m. and set to conclude at 3:20 p.m. Qualifying is set for race day, Saturday, October 29 set to launch at 10:40 a.m. The field will take the green flag later in the day shortly after 2:00 p.m. with live coverage on SPEED, the Motor Racing Network (Radio) and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Satellite, Channel 90). Pre-race coverage of the contest lifts off at 1:30 p.m. also on SPEED. All times are local (Eastern).

No. 81 Daystar Television Network Dodge Challenger R/T

(MOORESVILLE, NC) October 21, 2011 – The NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year battle is shaping up to be one of the closest in the history of the sport. Going into the final 3 races of the season there are 3 drivers with a very real chance of winning the coveted award. Timmy Hill currently holds a 1 point advantage over Blake Koch, and just 2 points over Ryan Truex.

“It’s going to be tough but I know our car is really fast right now. We made great progress with it at Charlotte and I think it will be good at Texas too,” explained Koch. This was the first race out for Chassis #104 and the team plans to run it again at Texas and Homestead. “If we can win Rookie of the Race at Texas I will be tied with Timmy, which would be awesome. Ryan (Truex) is coming too and will be tough to beat in these final races. We’ll see how it turns out but I’m just so proud of the Daystar team and the season that we have had so far.”

Sunoco Rookie of the Year candidates earn points based on their best 16 finishes of the season. After Charlotte, all 3 drivers have completed their 16 races. This means that any strong finishes now can replace bad finishes from earlier in the season. Drivers earn 10 points for being the highest finishing rookie in a particular event, 9 for the second highest finishing rookie, and so on. Winning Rookie of the Race honors in the last 3 races will be key to filling your 16 race resume with the most “10” point races. A top ten finish by one of the drivers would also be very beneficial, with bonus points being awarded for those results.

There are also points at the end of the year for the highest finishing driver in the 2011 NNS driver point’s standings. Timmy Hill will most likely gain 1 point on Koch and 2 on Truex for this portion of the Rookie points.

The final way to earn points involves the voting of a NASCAR panel on 3 different topics. The first is each rookie’s conduct with the technical inspectors in the garage area and the pits, and with other NASCAR officials. The second criteria is each rookie’s conduct and awareness on the race track, while the final topic is each rookie’s personal appearance and relationship with the media. Driver’s can earn up to 10 points for each criteria, meaning up to 30 points, and a very important piece of winning Rookie of the Year.

Blake Koch

Earlier this season at Texas, Blake Koch was able to earn Rookie of the Race honors with a 25th place finish. Timmy Hill ran 28th and Ryan Truex did not compete in the race. At Phoenix, Ryan Truex was the top finishing rookie with a 14th while Blake and Timmy struggled to 27th and 29th place finishes. That was the first Nationwide Series start of the season for both drivers so they should fare much better the second time around. The only driver of the 3 with experience at Homestead is Blake Koch, who ran for MacDonald Motorsports in 2009 to a 34th place result.

“Winning Rookie of the Race will be the key for these final 3 races,” said Koch. “I would really like to get my first top-ten finish as well and I will be doing all I can to try and accomplish that.”

Every lap is going to count in these final three races and each driver will be giving it their all to beat the other two. All three drivers have been racing all year with one main goal, to add the name, “2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year,” to their resumes.

The 26 year old from West Palm Beach, FL drove his Daystar.com No. 81 Chevy to an excellent 18th place result. The impressive run earned Blake the Sunoco Rookie of the Race award, closing in even tighter on Timmy Hill.

“We had a really strong Daystar.com No. 81 and it just got better as the race went on,” said Blake. “I’m so pumped we were able to get Rookie of the Race in the pink Daystar car and raise awareness for breast cancer.”

Blake had one of his strongest practice sessions all season long on Thursday night, putting the Daystar No. 81 15th on the speed charts. Qualifying didn’t go as well as the team would have hoped but 27th put them safely in the field and ready for 300 miles later that night.

Blake Koch

Blake took off like a rocket to start the race and advanced 6 positions to 21st in the first 10 laps. An untimely caution trapped Blake a lap down in the middle stages of the race but the team never gave up. Using strategy and a strong racecar, The Daystar.com No. 81 Chevy earned the free pass award and moved to the lead lap in the final stages of the race. At lap 200, Blake crossed under the checkered flag in 18th place and on the lead lap. Everyone at MacDonald Motorsports was excited and proud of the way Blake and team fought hard for the entire distance, winning yet another Sunoco Rookie of the Race award.

The finish should bring Blake to just 1 point behind Timmy Hill for the Rookie of the Year award with just 3 races remaining. Blake also moved the No. 81 up one spot to 25th in the owner’s standings and maintained his 18th position in the driver standings.

The Nationwide Series now takes 2 weekends off to prepare for the final 3-race stretch to cap off the season. Those races will take place at Texas, Phoenix, and Homestead.

Driver Reed Sorenson will again be behind the wheel of the No. 82 Dodge for MacDonald Motorsports.

Sorenson joined the team last week after his sudden release from Turner Motorsports. In his first stint behind the wheel, Sorenson, currently third in the Nationwide Series points standings, finished the race in 26th place.

“I’m looking forward to this weekend, it’s always exciting to run in Charlotte, our home track, and it means a lot to do well here. Our first goal is to qualify in and realistically finish in the top 20,” said Sorenson. “I’m grateful for the support of MacDonald Motorsports and Crusader Staffing for giving me this opportunity, and I can’t wait to get out there on the track.”

Randy MacDonald, owner of MacDonald Motorsports, with strong support from Dell Hamilton and Crusader Staffing worked diligently to get more horsepower for Sorenson this week. MacDonald Motorsports, typically one of the lower funded teams in the series, made strides to set Sorenson up for success, in hopes of him keeping and possibly improving his third place standing.

“We’re excited to be on the car again this week as the presenting sponsor, and honored to have Zeta Tau Alpha and the Think Pink campaign on board to bring awareness to the issue of breast cancer,” Hamilton said.

Crusader Staffing is a nationwide company that specializes in professionally managed warehouse labor. Since 2002, Crusader has been serving its customers all across the US. Headquartered in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Crusader provides a wide range of logistics services with a core specialty in loading and unloading freight. This includes unloading containers, railcars, and trailers at warehouses and distribution centers.
