EVENT: Lucas Deep Clean 200 (NASCAR Camping World Truck Series)

DATE: Friday, July 22, 2011

TRACK: Nashville Superspeedway, Lebanon, Tenn.

RESULT: Start 16 / Finish 19

LEBANON, Tenn. — Cole Whitt nailed it when describing his Friday night at Nashville Superspeedway.
“I kinda feel like we’re all dressed up with no party to go, Marcus,” Whitt said to crew chief Marcus Richmond. “We’ve
got a good race truck.”

Race truck: yes. Track position: no.

Whitt, who started 16th and pitted early under the first yellow flag, earned track position for a few moments when
green-flag pit stops unfolded just past lap 60. Whitt’s No. 60 Red Bull / Fuel Doctor truck went a little longer than
others and inherited the lead on laps 61-62. But as he peeled onto the apron, Whitt overshot the entrance to pit
road.

Cole Whitt

Having lost precious seconds, Whitt came back around for his stop. By then, however, he was trapped lap down in
18th. “Really don’t have any complaints about the truck,” he noted. Whitt took the wave-around under the second
caution, and from there the final 43 laps became a battle to earn the free pass.

He never did and finished 19th.

The 20-year-old Whitt dropped to fourth in the championship standings — 43 points behind leader Johnny Sauter but
only one back of third-place James Buescher. Race winner Austin Dillon sits second.

UP NEXT: AAA Insurance 200, Friday, July 29, Lucas Oil Raceway, Clermont, Ind.

The 19-year-old will drive Turn One Racing full-time this season in the Camping World Truck Series.

Whitt and Turn One Racing, owned by veteran NASCAR driver Stacy Compton, have a one-race head start on 2011. The driver made his Truck debut in the No. 60 last fall at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The 2008 USAC National Midget Series champion, finished third at Greenville-Pickens Speedway. He went on to finish fourth in points with two poles, six top fives and seven top 10s in only 10 races.

That success carried over to a late- Whitt, in the No. 84 Red Bull Toyota, debuted in the Nationwide Series in
November, putting together impressive weekends back-to-back at Phoenix International Raceway (15th) and Homestead (17th). In the Truck finale at Homestead, he qualified 10th and finished 28th after an on-track incident ruined what could have been a top-10 day. Whitt established a baseline for communication with crew chief Marcus Richmond, who returns to call the shots in 2011.

Homestead last year, and he proved to us that he has a ton of talent and the ability to win. By adding Cole to our
lineup as a teammate to Justin Marks, we will have two of the rising talents.

Whitt takes over a truck that finished 14th in the 2010 owner points. He and Marks, in the No. 66, will unload next
month for Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway with a brief test session, practice and qualifying all
leading up a 100-lap, 250-mile race to start the season Feb. 18.

“I’m really excited about racing in the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. I have always run really well there and I don’t expect that to be any different this weekend. Homestead is pretty similar to Kentucky in the way that you drive it and since we ran really well at Kentucky earlier this year, I think we’ll have a good shot at a top-five finish on Friday night. I’m really optimistic about it.”

COMPTON CONSISTENT IN CLOSING OUT THE YEAR:

“It’s been a decent and consistent year for us. We’ve had moments of excellence and we’ve made a few mistakes. We certainly have a lot to build on going into the winter and I am really looking forward to racing with this team in 2010.”

COMPTON CLOSE TO TOP-10 IN SERIES STANDINGS:

Stacy Compton currently occupies the 11th spot in the 2009 championship title chase with 3,024 points. Compton sits only 25 points out of the top-10. Since making his debut with the Wyler Racing team at Daytona International Speedway in February, Compton has finished in the top-10 nine times. This season was the first time Compton has raced in the Truck Series full-time since he finished fourth in the title chase in 1999.

COMPTON HAS A LOT TO BE THANKFUL FOR HEADING INTO THE HOLIDAYS:

“As the season comes to an end, there’s no better time to say ‘Thank You’ to those who have made racing possible for us throughout the year. We couldn’t do this without the continued support from Jeff and David Wyler, SafeAuto Insurance, Toyota, Arrington Manufacturing, Mark Melling and Melling Enterprises, The Jeff Wyler Automotive Group, our hotel partners across the U.S., all of the Wyler Racing employees, our vendors, and all of our families, friends, and fans. We are looking forward to enjoying the off-season with our loved ones and will be anxious to return to racing at Daytona International Speedway in February, 2010!”

THE CREW CHIEF’S CHOICE FOR HOMESTEAD:

Marcus Richmond, Crew Chief of the No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Company / Wyler.com Toyota Tundra, has selected chassis number 84 for the Ford 200. This chassis was last raced at Chicagoland Speedway where it qualified eighth and finished 12th. The team took this chassis to Nashville Superspeedway as well, but a wreck in practice forced the team to pull out their backup truck.

Prior to logging laps in Nashville, this chassis was raced at Kentucky Speedway where it qualified sixth and was a rocket ship, running as high as third before being crashed while battling for second spot. The team rallied back to finish 12th with this chassis in Kentucky.

WYLER RACING HAS SCORED TWO TOP-FIVES IN FOUR STARTS AT HOMESTEAD:

The Wyler Racing team has competed at Homestead-Miami Speedway four times since their inception into the Truck Series in 2005. Jack Sprague, the three-time series Champion, was the driver in each of those four starts. Overall, the team has amassed two top-five and two top-10 finishes. Their best performance came in 2005 when they qualified third and went on to finish second in the 2005 Ford 200.

COMPTON’S CAREER AT HOMESTEAD:

Stacy Compton will make his 14th career NASCAR start at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Friday night in the No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Toyota Tundra. Compton, who has raced in one of NASCAR’s top three divisions since 1996, made his first ever start at the 1.5-mile oval in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) in 1997. Since that time, Compton has accrued three NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts, six NASCAR Nationwide Series starts, and four in the NCWTS. Compton’s most notable accomplishments at Homestead have come in the NCWTS where he has one top-five and one top-10 finish which came after he qualified second for the 1999 Florida Dodge Dealers 400K and went on to finish third in the event. Compton’s average NCWTS starting position is 11th and his average finish is 14th with one DNF.

Wyler Racing returns to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2009 for its fourth full-time season, after making its series debut in 2005. In their very first fully fledged season in the NCWTS, Wyler Racing grabbed two wins, two pole positions, 10 top-five, and 14 top-10s, finishing fifth in points overall. The following year, Wyler Racing backed that up by winning one race, scoring two pole positions, taking six top-five, 10 top-10s and finishing ninth in points overall. In 2008, Terry Cook and Jack Sprague shared the ride, together earning two top-five and seven top-10 finishes overall, producing a 12th place finish in the Owner’s Point Standings. The team is owned by Jeff Wyler, a Cincinnati businessman who is Founder and CEO of the Jeff Wyler Automotive Family.

“I have always enjoyed racing in Phoenix. I’ve had a lot of success there in the past, and that’s always something you can draw on. Some of the things that worked way back in 1997 still apply today. The basics never really change. You want to run the bottom and make the truck rotate through the middle of the corners. That way you have a full head of steam for the straightaways. I’ve had a lot of success at Phoenix in the past and I’m hoping that we’ll have a good finish this weekend. We would really like to get this No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Toyota in victory lane, and I think we’ll have a good shot at it on Friday night.”

“Running a race at Talladega is a lot like driving on an eight-lane interstate. It’s a continual guessing game on which lane of traffic will move the quickest. You’re always looking to improve your position by picking the right pack of traffic, knowing if you pick wrong you’re going to lose positions. Worse yet, if you really pick the wrong pack of traffic, you can end up in a big crash. That’s why you spend more time looking in the rearview mirror at Talladega than you do looking ahead.”

THE CREW CHIEF’S CHOICE FOR TALLADEGA:

Marcus Richmond, Crew Chief of the No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Company / Wyler.com Toyota Tundra, has selected chassis number 19 for the Mountain Dew 250. This chassis was built specifically for the 2.66-mile oval of Talladega Superspeedway. This is the same chassis that the team took to Daytona International Speedway in February as their backup truck.

COMPTON CARRIES ROOKIE STRIPES AT TALLADEGA:

Stacy Compton will embark on his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Talladega on Saturday while driving the No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Toyota Tundra in the Mountain Dew 250. Even though Compton has been racing at a professional level in the ranks of NASCAR since 1996, where he has accumulated 400 career starts, the two-time Camping World Truck Series winner has never raced a truck around the 2.66-mile paved oval.

THE HOTEL HIGHLAND HOPS ABOARD AT TALLADEGA:

COMPTON’S A TWO-TIME POLE AWARD WINNER AT TALLADEGA:

Stacy Compton was the talk of the town in 2001 when he swept both pole positions at Talladega Superspeedway in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Compton’s superspeedway notables don’t stop there. That same year, Compton qualified just short of the top spot for the world renowned Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, qualifying second to NASCAR veteran, Bill Elliott.

COMPTON’S STATISTICS AT TALLADEGA:

Stacy Compton has competed in six NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at Talladega Superspeedway, where he has led eight laps. Compton’s best finish came in the fall of 2001 when he finished 11th after sitting on the pole. Compton has also competed there in the NASCAR Nationwide Series where he has five starts, one top-five and one top-10 finish. Compton led 46 laps in a Nationwide Series car in 2002 after qualifying second. He went on to take his best career Talladega finish that year when he took home second place honors.

(Monday, September 21, 2009) – Stacy Compton has always been strong in “The Granite State” and that continued on Saturday afternoon in the Heluva Good! 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway when Compton drove the No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Toyota Tundra to a sixth place finish after running near the top-five for most of the day. The finish helped launch Compton to 10th in the 2009 Championship Title Chase where he is only 11 points away from moving into ninth position.

Compton was the second-best finishing Toyota Tundra after NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regular Kyle Busch took the win for Toyota in the 200 lap race. Compton’s sixth place run was three spots shy of his best career performance at the Loudon, N.H. oval, but was a welcomed sign for the team whose goal is to finish in the top-five every week in which they race.

Stacy Compton

“It was a little disappointing that we did not get a top-five finish,” said Compton after the race. “We got rooted a little bit by the 13 (Johnny Sauter) right there on the last lap. But that’s just hard racing on the last lap. It’s a shame. We had a good truck and great pit stops all day long. Marcus (Richmond, Crew Chief) made good calls all day.”

Compton’s crew was equally as good, picking up spots on pit road where it really counts. “We’ll take it,” Compton continued. “We just need to keep doing stuff like this and building on it. We ran in the top-seven all day. We got shuffled back one time when some guys did some pit strategy, but when everything played out we were able to get a sixth place finish. I can’t thank my team enough for all their hard work preparing this truck for New Hampshire and for pulling off some impressive stops on pit road. It was a good day for us.”

With his sixth place run, Compton closed the gap in the point standings and is only 29 points out of seventh place. Compton will have his next shot to make up ground in the standings when the series heads west to Nevada for the Qwik Liner Las Vegas 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The race will come to you live courtesy of the SPEED Channel at 9 p.m. ET on Saturday, September 26th.

(September 1, 2009) – Stacy Compton was one of only a handful of drivers who had ever raced at Chicagoland Speedway and his experience combined with great pit strategy allowed him to claim his career best finish at the 1.5-mile oval while driving the No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Toyota in Friday night’s inaugural EnjoyIllinois.com 225 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race. Compton’s best previous finish at Chicagoland Speedway came in 2003 when he drove in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and finished 19th.

“It was a decent weekend,” said Compton, who was expected to be very competitive heading into Friday’s 150 lap event. “We unloaded and we weren’t very good. The entire first day, we really weren’t where we needed to be. Marcus (Richmond, Crew Chief), Tom (Buzze, General Manager), myself sat down after practice with Toyota and went back and looked at our notes from previous races and came up with a plan for the next morning. The first lap on the race track the next day, we were much quicker than we were the day before. The guys really dug in hard and got us a lot closer to where we needed to be for the race”

Their hard work paid off when Compton paced the oval in qualifying and laid down a fast lap of 31.590 seconds at a speed of 170.940 miles per hour, setting him up for an eighth place starting spot. “We had a pretty decent qualifying run and a decent race,” said Compton. “We never could get the truck exactly where we needed it, but we certainly got it a lot better.”

Stacy Compton

Compton’s Toyota was better due in part by smart pit calls by his Crew Chief. “Marcus threw a lot of different stuff at it and we got it better at times,” Compton said. “Going back and looking at it, we think we had a right front spring that gave up on us. But Marcus tried to keep up with the race track and kept making changes and making good pit calls, and kept us in a position that when we got it straightened out, we were going to come away with a decent run. And that’s what we did. He put us in a position to stay on the lead lap. When everyone started pitting, he made a great pit call to take one can of fuel betting on a caution, and sure enough, a caution came out. Once again, it was great pit calls on Marcus’ part.”

Compton was 11th in the 2009 Championship Title Chase heading into the EnjoyIllinois.com 225, and even though he slid a spot to 12th, he closed the gap on 10th. Compton is currently sitting 12th, just one point out of 11th and only four points out of the top-10.

“It wasn’t exactly what we had hoped for, but still come home 12th, that’s not a bad weekend,” Compton concluded.

“I think we can go to Chicagoland Speedway and be very competitive,” said Compton. “I tested a truck there last year, and when Chad Knaus was my Cup Crew Chief, we always spent a lot of time up there testing because he’s from Rockford, just north of there. We went there and tested several times, so I’ve got a lot of laps around Chicago. Undoubtedly, the trucks will go there and just run wide open. These mile and a half race tracks have turned into little Daytona and Talladega’s, where aerodynamics are really important. If you take a good truck there, you can run well. If you take a real draggy truck there, then you will not. I think we’ve learned some things in the last six or seven weeks that are going to help us run really well at Chicago. We’re going to keep our fingers crossed. I’ve got a lot of laps there around there between Cup and Nationwide and I’ve tested there a lot. I’m pretty familiar with the race track.”

COMPTON SIGNING TWICE FOR CHICAGO FANS:

Stacy Compton will be busy leading up to the start of the Chicagoland 225. Compton is scheduled to sign autographs for fans in two locations at the speedway on Friday, August 28th. Compton will be on-hand at the Toyota Pitpass display located in Champion’s Park from 12:30 to 12:55 p.m., and again in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series autograph session directly across from the Toyota display from 1 to 2 p.m.

COMPTON CLOSES GAP; 47 POINTS OUT OF SEVENTH:

Stacy Compton claimed his fifth top-10 of the year at Bristol Motor Speedway which helped elevate him one position in the 2009 Championship Title Chase. Compton currently sits 11th with 1884 points, only seven points out of the top-10 and 47 points out of seventh.

THE CREW CHIEF’S CHOICE FOR CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY:

Marcus Richmond, Crew Chief of the No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Company / Wyler.com Toyota Tundra, has selected chassis number 84 for the Chicagoland 225. This chassis was last raced at Kentucky Speedway where it was a rocket ship and ran as high as third before being crashed while battling for second spot. The team took this chassis to Nashville Superspeedway as well, but a wreck in practice forced the team to pull out their backup truck. Since Nashville, this chassis underwent repairs and will return to action on Friday night in the 150 lap Chicagoland 225.

(Friday, August 21, 2009) – Stacy Compton survived the O’Reilly 200 presented by Valvoline and drove his way to his fifth top-10 finish of the year on Wednesday night, under the lights, at the World’s Fastest Half-Mile of Bristol Motor Speedway. Compton ran as high as fifth before a late race body slam sent his No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Toyota back to 15th with 20 laps remaining in the 200 lap race. Compton methodically maneuvered through the field in the closing laps to claim ninth place at the world renowned 0.533-mile high-banked oval.

“It was a good weekend,” said Compton after the race. “Marcus (Richmond, Crew Chief) made some great pit calls. With the luck of the draw, we had to go out first in qualifying which is not good at Bristol.” Rain had washed all of the rubber off the race track and jet dryers had been pacing the oval dropping jet fuel on the track, leaving conditions for qualifying a virtual unknown. “We knew we were put in a little bit of a hole,” Compton explained. “I felt like we were going to qualify in the top-10 if we would have got a good draw. No doubt, I feel like that cost us 10 or 12 positions. (Todd) Bodine went out pretty early as well as Tayler Malsam and all of us were back there in the mid to high-20’s for the start of the race.” Compton’s fastest qualifying lap was 16.190 seconds at a speed of 118.518, which was good enough for the 23rd starting spot. “We just had to make the best of it.”

At the start of the race, Compton’s Toyota was running well. “We made up some ground early, and then Marcus made a great pit call and got us some track position. It was a great plan; Marcus played pit strategy better than it could have been dreamed out. We got track position early by just taking fuel and were able to stay out. Our truck was good enough that we were able to maintain when everybody else took tires. We were able to stay there and run in the top-10 all night. Then, right there at the end, we came in and put tires on and the truck got tight.”

Stacy Compton

While running in the top-10 and battling a tight truck, Compton was on the outside of Rick Crawford when the two made contact. “Right there at the end it looked like (Rick) Crawford cut a tire and got into us and we went from fifth or sixth back to about 15th with around 20 to go. It actually got us up and into the outside wall. We were able to get back to ninth before the race was over, so all it all it wasn’t a bad weekend.”

It was a good point’s day for Compton, who moved up one position to 11th in the 2009 Championship Title Chase and now sits only 47 points out of 7th. “One of our goals is just to run in the top-10 every week and we were able to do that this week,” said Compton. “We ran in the top-10 all day, but circumstances didn’t allow us to finish where we could have but still, to come away having survived Bristol is always a good thing. We survived and got a top-10 out of it.”

(Tuesday, August 04, 2009) – Stacy Compton was one of only four drivers with an average running position of 10th or better in the last four races prior to the Toyota Tundra 200 is Saturday at Nashville Superspeedway, and the Wyler Racing team was going to keep that streak alive until a crash two minutes from the end of final practice cost the team their primary truck and forced them to pull out the backup truck at the 1.333-mile concrete oval.

Compton’s average running position before Nashville stood strong at a 4.860, second only to former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion, Mike Skinner. Compton backed that up by posting the fourth fastest time in first practice at Nashville after he drove the No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Toyota Tundra to a fast lap of 30.720 seconds at a speed of 156.211 miles per hour.

In the final practice session leading up to the Toyota Tundra 200, Compton was on a mock qualifying lap when his No. 60 Tundra broke loose on the straightaway and slapped the wall. With significant damage, Crew Chief Marcus Richmond opted to pull out the backup truck.

Stacy Compton

“We had a great truck when we unloaded,” said Compton. “We felt like we had a truck that could run in the top three all day. We were good in first practice, our overall averages were good, and when we would make changes to the truck – it reacted. We were good and we were fast. A lot of people knew it. With two minutes until the end of practice, we hit the wall and that really ended our chance at a solid finish.”

Compton’s backup truck saw its first laps in qualifying, and it struggled to find speed. Even though the truck was a bit slower than Compton’s primary piece, he secured a top-20 starting spot with a lap of 31.142 seconds at a speed of 154.094. “Our backup truck had no laps on it and it was a different configuration. We didn’t run really well during the race, which is really disappointing because we knew that we could have finished in the top-five in our primary truck.”

Even though the backup truck did not produce the results they were looking for, Compton felt that it was a good learning experience for he and the team. “All things considered, it wasn’t a bad weekend; it was just a frustrating one. We know what we need now and it’s just going to take awhile to get all of the trucks converted over. It was a great test; I just hate the way that we had to do it.”

Compton finished 15th. “Marcus made some good calls and we survived, that was pretty much it,” Compton explained. “The back up just wasn’t as good.”

Compton remains 12th in the 2009 Championship Title Chase, just 39 points out of the top-10. He will have his next chance to close that margin when the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series hits Bristol Motor Speedway on Wednesday, August 19th for the O’Reilly 200.

“We’re taking the same truck to Nashville that we ran at Kentucky. We were really strong there, and we feel like we’ll have just as strong of a package at Nashville. Nashville is a really fast track and you can create speed at the exit of the corners. If you can get back on the throttle early in the corner, you’re going to be fast going down the straightaway.”

THE CREW CHIEF’S CHOICE FOR NASHVILLE:

Marcus Richmond, Crew Chief of the No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Company / Wyler.com Toyota Tundra, has selected chassis number 84 for the Toyota Tundra 200. This chassis was last raced at Kentucky Speedway where it qualified sixth and was charging to the front before being taken out while battling for second place. Compton rallied back to finish 12th, despite having a damaged truck. Since the truck ran so well, Richmond immediately sent it to the fabricator who repaired it to race at Nashville.

“O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis (ORP) is a neat race track. It’s a lot like the race tracks that we all grew up racing on. For whatever reason, it’s been good to me. I’ve always ran well there whether it be in a Truck or a Nationwide car. It’s a fun little short track. It’s also a true one-day show and a lot of stuff is packed into the schedule with practice, qualifying, and the race all taking place on the same day. It’s a neat race for us. It’s also a triple header weekend with the sprint cars racing Thursday, our race on Friday, and the Nationwide race on Saturday. It will be an exciting weekend of racing for everyone!”

BRACELETS BRING HOPE FOR POLICE OFFICER:

Sergeant Joan Manning, a longtime race fan and 22-year veteran of the Miamisburg (OH) Police Department, is battling Stage 3 Multiple Myeloma Cancer. As a tribute to her, the entire Wyler Racing team will wear dark blue bracelets inscribed with her unit number this weekend at ORP.

THE CREW CHIEF’S CHOICE FOR INDIANAPOLIS:

Marcus Richmond, Crew Chief of the No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Company / Wyler.com Toyota Tundra, has selected chassis number 91 for the AAA Insurance 200. This chassis was last raced at Memphis Motorsports Park where it qualified sixth and ran in the top-five before a miscommunication on pit road relegated Compton and the team to a 17th place finish. “It is the same truck we ran at Martinsville and Memphis,” said Richmond, “and at both places, we unloaded fast. ORP changes a lot so I think if we can keep up with the track conditions, we’ll have a good finish on Friday night.”

“I’m really excited to go to Kentucky. That place has been pretty good to me. I got a pole there in a (NASCAR) Nationwide car, and have always run pretty well there. Combined with having 300-400 people show up between the Wyler’s and SafeAuto, it’s going to be a busy week. We’re doing an appearance at the Wyler’s (dealership) on Thursday, and then going to the Cincinnati Reds game later that night. It’s going to be a lot of fun. We will have a chance to spend a little time with all the people who support us and who have helped us. A lot of times when you’re at the race track, you don’t get a chance to do that. It’s going to be fun, and it’s going to be busy, but hopefully it will be an excellent weekend.”

DAVID WYLER ON RACING AT “HOME”:

“I think everybody’s got a home track, and for us, this is our home track – Kentucky Speedway,” said David Wyler, President of Wyler Racing. “We’re going to have a few hundred of our family, our employees, and our friends there. The track is a half-hour outside of where we live and it’s really special for us that we can have the race team come up so close to home and that everyone who is so close to us and our friends, family, and our co-workers can see firsthand why we love the sport of NASCAR so much.”

THE CREW CHIEF’S CHOICE FOR KENTUCKY:

Marcus Richmond, Crew Chief of the No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Company / Wyler.com Toyota Tundra, has selected chassis number 84 for The Built Ford Tough 225. This chassis was virtually rebuilt after last being raced in 2008. “This truck has an all new body on it, and is just like new,” said Crew Chief, Marcus Richmond. “It’s definitely a better truck compared to anything else that we have. We’ve taken this truck to the wind tunnel and the pull down rig at TRD, and we’ve learned a lot of stuff. Hopefully that will translate to a good finish at Kentucky.”

THE DRAWBRIDGE INN JOINS WYLER RACING IN KENTUCKY:

Experience the royal treatment, the charm of a European village and southern hospitality at its Northern Kentucky best at the Drawbridge Inn. Whether you’re in town for a reunion, convention, romantic weekend or sightseeing, let the Drawbridge Inn show you hospitality beyond your expectations. Independently owned, the Drawbridge Inn offers a blend of old world charm and contemporary convenience. The complex is comprised of acres of lodging, meeting, dining and recreational facilities. Hands down, the Drawbridge Inn offers the best value and location in town. To reserve a room for your next visit to the area, please call (859) 341-2800.

TELEVISION SCHEDULE: Saturday, July 18, 2009: Race, 7 p.m. ET on SPEED TV.

COMPTON’S CAREER AT KENTUCKY SPEEDWAY:

Stacy Compton has six previous starts at Kentucky Speedway. Most of his starts came behind the wheel of a NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) car at the 1.5-mile paved oval. Compton has accrued five NNS starts in Kentucky, with one top-five, and two top-ten finishes. Compton grabbed the pole for the NNS race there in 2003, and went on to post his career-best performance at the Sparta oval with a fourth place finish overall. Compton has one previous start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, where he qualified 28th and finished 12th while driving for Bobby Hamilton Racing last year.

MILWAUKEE MARKS 100TH START FOR WYLER RACING:

The Copart 200 on Friday night will mark the four year anniversary for Wyler Racing as they make their 100th start with the No. 60 Toyota Tundra at the Milwaukee Mile. It was four years ago that Jeff Wyler debuted the No. 60 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Since then, the team has racked up some impressive statistics, including three wins, four pole positions, 20 top-five and 37 top-10 finishes. Stacy Compton looks to add to those statistics as he returns to Milwaukee, a track he’s “always ran really well” at.

Stacy Compton

COMPTON ON RACING IN MILWAUKEE:

“Milwaukee is always a blast. In Milwaukee, you can buy tickets to go in the infield so there’s always a swarm of people there all the time. The people in Milwaukee are starving for racing. When you go up there, it’s fun. Milwaukee is part of the State Fairgrounds so the access to the pits is a little bit easier than it is at some of the other tracks. That being said, it’s pretty fun because you always have people walking around that want autographs or want to talk. At a lot of the other race tracks, you don’t get the chance to do that. So it’s fun. Milwaukee is a neat town. There’s always something to do up there.”

COMPTON HAS CONFIDENCE AT MILWAUKEE:

“Marcus (Richmond, Crew Chief) has won on flat tracks and we’ve always ran good on the flat tracks too. With that beings said, I think we can go there with a lot more confidence. We’re going there with more confidence probably than we’ve had in a long time simply because Marcus and I are starting to figure each other out.”

THE CREW CHIEF’S CHOICE FOR MILWAUKEE:

Marcus Richmond has selected chassis number 107 for the Copart 200. “This is the same truck that we took to Kansas,” said Richmond. “We thought we were really good before it rained, but we had carburetor issues once it rained. I feel like this truck responded really well at Kansas so I think it’s a good choice for Milwaukee. The last three weekends we feel like we’ve been in a position to finish in the top-10, but we just haven’t been able to capitalize on it. This track here, it’s all left up to me and Stacy. Aero is kind of out of the question and engines are not as big of a deal as they are at Michigan and Texas, so it’s pretty much left up to me and Stacy to make this thing good this weekend.”

THE AMBASSADOR HOTEL JOINS WYLER RACING:

The Ambassador Hotel has teamed up with Stacy Compton and the Wyler Racing team for the Copart 200. The Ambassador is a meticulously restored Art Deco boutique hotel combining historic character with modern refinement and attentive service. The Ambassador Hotel offers upscale boutique lodging accommodations and is the destination for business and leisure travelers in Milwaukee, WI. To reserve a room for your next visit to the area, please call (888) 322-DECO.

COMPTON’S CAREER AT THE MILWAUKEE MILE:

The Milwaukee Mile is one track that Stacy Compton has competed at in both the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series as well as the NASCAR Nationwide Series. In Truck Series competition, Compton has accrued five starts, one top-10 finish, and 35 laps led. His best NCWTS qualifying effort at Milwaukee (4th) came in 1999, as did his best finish of 10th that same year. Compton’s NNS stats include five starts, two top-10 finishes, and one lap led. His best NNS finish came when he finished 6th in 2006.
