MOORESVILLE, N.C. (June 9, 2010) – Professional racecar drivers Michael McDowell and Justin Marks have partnered together to develop a state-of-the-art, outdoor go-karting track near Charlotte, N.C. under the Mooresville Motorplex name that will host local, national, and international karting events starting in 2011.
The track, to be located in Mooresville, N.C.’s Mazeppa Park, will offer kart and part sales, open practice, entry-level training programs and schools, on-site garage rentals, and host corporate and group events. The track and facility is tentatively scheduled to open in 2011 and will be the first of its kind in the state of North Carolina. Mooresville, touted as Race City USA, is home to many race teams and racing-related businesses, especially within NASCAR.
