(November 19, 2011) - Richard Childress Racing’s Austin Dillon and his Danny Stockman-led Bass Pro Shops team ended their second year of full-time competition in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with a 10th-place finish in the season finale race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, allowing Dillon to clinch the 2011 Driver’s Championship for Bass Pro Shops and Richard Childress Racing’s black No. 3 Chevrolet team.

The accomplishment marks the second NCWTS championship for RCR, who earned the inaugural NCWTS series championship in 1995 with Mike Skinner, also in a No. 3 Chevrolet. The 42-year-old racing organization, headed by Dillon’s grandfather Richard Childress, now has 14 motorsports championships overall, spread across the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series, NCWTS and the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.

“It’s so special when you’re family,” said patriarch and team owner Richard Childress. “Our whole family is involved, and I remember the very first championship with Dale Earnhardt. I had the same feeling tonight watching Austin, my grandson. It’s just so special to have the family and know how hard all of them worked. Danny Stockman (crew chief), Bass Pro Shops, everybody on the No. 3 team did so much to help put it together. Austin kept it together so good under the pressure. For a 21-year-old guy, man, to be able to hang in there and do what he did was very special.”

Dillon, the 2010 NCWTS Rookie of the Year, becomes the first driver in the 11-year history of the NCWTS to earn the rookie title and then the driving championship the subsequent year. He also holds the honor of youngest champion to be crowned in the series’ history. Along with Ty Dillon, the 2011 ARCA Racing Series champion, the Dillon’s are the only brothers who have earned same-year championships on a national stock car tour.

“We definitely worked hard this year and accomplished this as a team,” said Dillon. “This was our goal at the beginning of the year and no one ever gave up. Danny Stockman and every member of the Bass Pro Shops team worked nonstop. We rebounded from so many little mistakes and unfortunate incidents this year-the hood flipping up at Kentucky Speedway, for example. It’s the way you react to the undesirable situations that show what a championship team is made of, and these guys reacted in all the right ways. This championship means so much to me and I’m thrilled to be able to represent my family, Richard Childress Racing, Bass Pro Shops and NASCAR as a champion.”

En route to the 2011 title, Dillon and his Danny Stockman-led Bass Pro Shops team celebrated in Victory Lane at Nashville Superspeedway and Chicagoland Speedway, posting an impressive five pole awards among 10 top-five and 16 top-10 finishes in 25 races. Dillon finished second on four separate occasions.

At 29-years-old, the 2011 championship marks crew chief Stockman’s first in only his second year as a crew chief. Prior to joining RCR in December 2009, he earned two championships (’07 and ’09) in the NCWTS as a truck chief at Kevin Harvick, Inc.

“Like Austin said, the last restart was quite gut wrenching,” added Stockman. “Just awesome to be a part of this deal with Richard, Mike, Austin and Tina, and everybody that just let me have this opportunity to be a part of it. Austin Dillon is just a great up-and-coming race car driver. I am just really happy to be a part of it. We have a heck of a good race team, and just got to thank everybody back at the shop for all their hard work.”

The nation’s No. 1 outdoor retail leader, Bass Pro Shops, was positioned as the primary partner on Dillon’s No. 3 Chevrolet for the duration of the 2010 and 2011 race seasons. A long-time RCR supporter, Bass Pro Shops began its association with Richard Childress Racing in 1998 with associate sponsorship of the No. 3 GM Goodwrench Chevrolet Monte Carlo made famous by seven-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Dale Earnhardt. Bass Pro Shops’ partnership with RCR has also included sponsorship of the No. 29 Chevrolet driven by Kevin Harvick and primary sponsorship of Earnhardt’s eldest son, Kerry Earnhardt, in RCR’s No. 33 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet for six Sprint Cup Series races in 2004. The company sponsored Ty Dillon for his season-finale race in the ARCA Racing Series this year.

“Congratulations to Austin from all of us at Bass Pro Shops, Tracker Marine and all our Tracker independent dealers,” said Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris. “Austin is a fine young man who loves racing, loves the outdoors and has a great future ahead of him. What a proud moment for Austin’s grandparents Richard and Judy Childress and his mom and dad Mike and Tina Dillon.”

Dillon joins an exclusive list of NCWTS driving champions, including Todd Bodine, Ron Hornaday, Jr., Johnny Benson, Ted Musgrave, Bobby Hamilton, Travis Kvapil, Mike Bliss, Jack Sprague, Greg Biffle and Mike Skinner. He will be formally honored at the annual NNS and NCWTS Awards Banquet at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel on Monday, Nov. 21. SPEED will broadcast the banquet on Friday, Dec. 2 from 7-9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

“Everyone at Chevrolet is extremely proud of Austin Dillon’s accomplishment this year,” said Jim Campbell, Chevrolet U.S. Vice President of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports. “Throughout his young career, he has proven himself to be a very talented driver. After winning the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rookie of Year in his 2010 debut, to come back and win the championship this year clearly demonstrates the bright future Austin has in NASCAR.

“We are very proud of our long partnership with Richard Childress Racing and couldn’t be more pleased to be a part of every victory and every championship Richard’s teams have won.”

Dillon, 21, led the series with five poles, and added two wins, 10 top-fives and 16 top-10s in 25 races this season.

Dillon, who carried a 20-point lead into the season finale’, is the sixth Team Chevy driver to win the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship, joining Ron Hornaday Jr. (2009, 2007, 1998 and 1996), Jack Sprague (2001, 1999, and 1997), Travis Kvapil (2003), Mike Bliss (2002) and Mike Skinner (1995).

This is Childress’ second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship; Mike Skinner won the first in the series’ inaugural season, 1995 – also in the No. 3. Childress also won six NASCAR Sprint Cup championships with Dale Earnhardt (1986, 1987, 1990, 1991, 1993 and 1994).

“It’s been a very successful season for Team Chevy in the Camping World Truck Series,” Campbell said. “We’d also like to congratulate Kevin Harvick Inc. on winning the Owners’ Championship. What a way for KHI to close out a tremendous 10-year run in the series.

“In addition, our congratulations to Joey Coulter for winning the Series’ Sunoco Rookie of the Year.”

Chevrolet earlier clinched the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Manufacturers’ Championship for the seventh time.

Tonight’s season-finale was won by Johnny Sauter, No. 13 SafeAuto / Curb Records Silverado.

Mooresville, North Carolina (November 8, 2011) – Veterans United Home Loans and Hire Heroes USA are teaming up to spotlight the epidemic of veteran unemployment as Veterans United sponsors the No. 32 car driven by Mike Bliss during NASCAR’s Kobalt Tools 500 on November 13th at Phoenix International Raceway.

Veterans United, a company that helps veterans use their VA benefits to buy or refinance homes, will showcase the Hire Heroes USA logo on the No. 32 car owned by Frank Stoddard’s FAS Lane Racing to raise awareness and support for this impactful organization, which provides transition assistance and job placement services for returning veterans and transitioning military personnel.

The unemployment rate for veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan was 11.7 percent in September, significantly higher than the nation’s overall jobless rate, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Former members of our Armed Forces are having trouble achieving the American Dream they fought to preserve.

To help put a face to this alarming trend, Veterans United will send Marine Corps veteran Ryan Baer to Phoenix to enjoy Veterans Day race weekend and watch the Sprint Cup Series race from atop the FAS Lane Racing pit box. A decorated Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran and MBA candidate, Ryan will graduate this winter into an uncertain job market. Ryan, who is currently being coached through Hire Heroes USA’s veteran employment program, will have the chance to network with business executives and employers throughout the weekend.

FAS Lane Racing LLC

“We hope our continued partnership with Hire Heroes USA raises awareness of the significant employment problems facing our returning service members, who have sacrificed so much,” said Nathan Long, CEO of Veterans United, the nation’s leading dedicated VA lender.

Earlier this year, Veterans United donated $25,000 to Hire Heroes USA to help the agency further its mission of providing free services to prepare veterans for civilian job search through self-marketing, interview skills and revised resumes.

The organization’s president, UFC star and former Marine Corps captain Brian Stann, serves as official spokesman for Veterans United. “Sharing the stage with Veterans United during a nationally televised NASCAR race allows us to reach thousands of employers and millions of viewers nationwide,” Stann said. “Veterans possess a diverse skill set and an unmatched degree of adaptability. Employers that skim over this group are doing themselves a serious disservice.”

Veterans United is also proud to continue its sponsorship of NASCAR and former crew chief Frank Stoddard’s team at FAS Lane Racing. Stoddard owns the Veterans United No. 32 car, a Ford Fusion from Roush-Fenway Racing and Richard Petty Motorsports.

NASCAR driver Mike Bliss will take the wheel in the #19 Brookshire’s Food & Pharmacy Chevrolet Impala at the O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge Race on Saturday, November 5. The black, red and white Impala with red trim, along with the number 19 in red, will represents the colors of the Brookshire’s Food & Pharmacy brand over the NASCAR Nationwide Series Race weekend.

“Participation on the track is a natural extension of the relationship we’ve had with TMS and NASCAR,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Rick Rayford. “Thousands of NASCAR fans from across our market areas continually express their appreciation of our involvement in the sport they love and passionately support. We believe these fans are the most loyal of any sport fan base out there.”

TriStar Motorsports’ driver, Mike Bliss, echo’s Rayford’s excitement about the partnership at TMS.

“It’s an honor to be working with Brookshire’s Food & Pharmacy for this weekend’s race at Texas Motor Speedway. I know we will represent them well and I hope we put on a great show for them, the fans and their customers that will be joining us in the pits this weekend for the race.”

Mike currently sits just outside the top 10 in the Nationwide driver Standings in 11th position, but Bliss’s breadth of racing experience is tremendous. He has competed on many levels of racing. From the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series where he earned a championship to the USAC Silver Crown Series, where he raced against NASCAR champions Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon, to the Indy Racing League (IRL) and even on to NASCAR’s premier Cup series. Bliss is a Milwaukie, Oregon native, where he lives with his wife Sue and daughter Britney.

“This will be a nationally televised race, and to have Mike sporting our brand on the car and wearing a Brookshire’s Food & Pharmacy fire suit is very exciting,” Rayford said. “We believe it will continue to introduce our stores, products and services to an even greater audience.”

The No. 32 Big Red Ford will be piloted by Mike Bliss as the series heads to Chicagoland Speedway this weekend for the first event in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

“We are proud to welcome back Big Red as a sponsor for FAS Lane Racing,” stated team owner Frank Stoddard. “They have sponsored us two other races this year and with this new program they have coming out it seemed like a natural fit for some of these closing races of the season. The team has done a great job all year in working hard and it shows with us being a new one car team in the top level of NASCAR and to be able to stay in the top-35. We look for some strong outings here during these Chase races and representing Big Red and its products the best we can.”

Big Red will use this six (6) race sponsorship to debut a new and exciting product in the marketplace. A further announcement on this program will be made in the coming days.

“We have some really cool and exciting things that we are debuting and we are excited that we were able to put something together with Frank and FAS Lane Racing,” said Gary Smith, CEO of Big Red, Inc. “The team has been great to work with this year and this seems like a great match and perfect way to promote something new that we are coming out with. We will be making an announcement in the next day or so that will surely create some excitement for everyone.”

FAS Lane Racing currently sits 34th in the ever important NASCAR Sprint Cup Series owner’s points. The team is coming off a disappointing 36th place finish last week at Richmond after a blown right front tire and expired engine.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series GEICO 400 at Chicagoland Speedway will run Sunday September 18th at 2:00 p.m. ET. The race can be viewed on ESPN and heard on affiliated MRN radio stations and on Sirius NASCAR Radio 90.

- Eric McClure will be competing in his 164th career NASCAR Nationwide Series race this weekend and his ninth at the .75-mile speedway.

- Earlier this season, when the series made its first stop at RIR, McClure and his family had just endured significant tornado damage to their home, which is still undergoing repairs; the 32-year-old driver still competed in the race and finished in the 32nd position.

- The Virginia driver will be piloting chassis No. 5 this weekend.š This chassis was last used at Bristol Motor Speedway where the team was credited with a 27th-place finish.

Eric McClure’s Pre-Race quotes:

“We really need to get this monkey off of our back, and hopefully Richmond is the place to do it.š I love short track racing but the results don’t always reflect that.š We struggled here in the spring, but I’ve run ok here in the past so I’m optimistic we can finally have good finish here this weekend.”

International, Casey Roderick will continue a presence in a NASCAR-sanctioned series as he’ll pilot the No. 37 Spraker Racing Enterprises / Randy Hill Racing Chevrolet Impala in Monday’s Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 140 at Greenville (S.C.) Pickens Speedway.

Roderick, a native of Lawrenceville, Georgia will once again be under the guidance of veteran car owner and crew chief Jeff Spraker. The duo recently competed in a span of three ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards where the combination proved to be potent during the months of July and August.

With the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season resuming their 2011 schedule on Labor Day, Spraker and his young protégé look to make an impact that will hopefully will leave a lasting impression.

“I’m awfully excited about having Casey race for Spraker Racing Enterprises on Monday at Greenville-Pickens,” said Spraker, a native of New York. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with him for a couple months now and believe me when I say this; he is one talented racecar driver. Even though he doesn’t have any experience at Greenville (S.C.) Pickens Speedway, I know he’ll climb behind the wheel of our No. 37 Spraker Racing Enterprises / Randy Hill Racing Chevrolet Impala and surprise a lot of people.”

For the 18-year old Roderick, his Labor Day plans were supposed to be business as normal, working in the Spraker Racing Enterprises race shop, but when his mentor offered him the opportunity to climb behind the wheel of his racecar, it was an offer he could not refuse.

Casey Roderick

“I cannot tell you what it means to me to be working with a guy like Spraker,” said Roderick, who plans to make his second career Nationwide start at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway on September 9. “This wasn’t a race that I was preparing for, nor did I ever think I would be competing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, but thanks to Jeff, he’s continuing to make my dreams come true.

I’m used to going to a lot of new tracks with very little to no track time at all. I’ll do a lot of talking with Jeff and do some studying of the place on my own when I get there. We’ll do an elevation after practice with the plan to qualify well and race smart and see where we can find ourselves in the final rundown.”

Knowing that a stout field is on deck for the 10th race of the season, the team is adequately prepared for whatever situations may stand in their way.

“The competition is so competitive in the K&N Series right now,” offered Spraker. “I think that will be good for Casey though. He is a quick learner and is eager to please. He’ll definitely learn a lot out there. With all that being said though our main goal for the race is to finish somewhere in the top-10 and see the checkered flag.”

In April, Brandon McReynolds, son of NASCAR analyst Larry McReynolds wheeled Spraker’s No. 37 ride to a solid eighth place effort at the historic short track.

Also, Spraker Racing Enterprises will continue to field its second full-time entry on Monday with Martinsville (Va.) Speedway president Clay Campbell at the helm of the No. 08 Mountain Dew Chevrolet Impala.

The Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 140 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East at Greenville (S.C.) Pickens Speedway is set for this Monday, September 5 with a set liftoff at 5:00 p.m. The event will be tape-delayed on SPEED airing September 15 at 6:00 p.m.

Mike Bliss, Dexter Bean, Drew Brannon, Clay Campbell, Kerry Earnhardt, Joey Gase, Ron Hornaday Jr., P.J. Jones, Alex Kennedy, Brandon McReynolds, Steve Park, David Ragan, Scott Riggs, David Reutimann, Casey Roderick, Michelle Theriault, Darrell Waltrip and Smokey Yunick are just some of the drivers that Spraker, who also has starts for himself in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series (NKNPS), NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) and NASCAR Nationwide Series has been affiliated with in one capacity or another through SRE.

(August 23, 2011) – When it comes to racing at Bristol Motor Speedway under the Friday night lights, there are two big keys to success.

First, keep the fenders and bumpers on the race car to stay in the race. Second, survive the bumps, spins and sins of other drivers to exit Thunder Valley with as many points as possible.

Mike Wallace and the No. 01 Chevrolet team of JD Motorsports know what it takes to be successful at the.533-mile, concrete oval. Now, they just need to stick to their game plan and be there when the checkered flag flies after 250 laps to pick up points on the two positions in front of them, 11th and 12th place, in the driver’s standings. Wallace trails the 12th place driver of Trevor Bayne by 13 markers and 12th place of Mike Bliss by 14 points. If things go their way, the unsponsored No. 01 Chevrolet driver could gain on both places.

Chrissy Wallace Trek to the ASA Championship update: The 23-year daughter of Mike and Carla Wallace earned her sixth Late Model feature win last Saturday night at Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Missouri. This not only put Chrissy back on top of the track’s division, but also the ASA National and Midwestern Divisions making her the first female to ever lead all three standings at once. After competing on Friday night at Bristol, Mike will head to Lebanon I-44 to support his daughter’s efforts to win another one.

Mike Wallace Notes:

- This will be the 25th NNS start this year and 406th of his career. The four-time NNS winner has one top-five, two top-10s and 13 top-20 finishes.

- Of those 13 top-20 finishes, eight of them have been earned in the last 11 races.

- He’s completed 88.9 percent of the laps contested leading four races for 10 circuits

- This will be the 27th NNS start at BMS for the St. Louis native.

- In those previous 26 starts, he’s earned one top-five, five top-10s and 16 top-20 finishes.

- He’s completed 86.5 percent (5693/6585) laps contested and led 65 laps in three different races

- His best start was in the fall ’96 event when he started third. His best finish was this event in ’93 when he was fourth.

Broadcast Times: Since this is a must-see event, fans can catch the only practice from 9 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. ET on SPEED TV, followed by qualifying at 3:30 p.m. For the race, switch over to ESPN TV at 7 p.m. and tune into PRN Radio and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio Ch. 90 for all 250 laps of action.

Mike Wallace Quotes:

“This is one track every driver has circled on their calendars when the schedule comes out each year. Some because they like the track so much, and others because they know it takes a different mindset to survive this place.”

“Personally, I love everything about Bristol. I love having 160,000 fans around the track and the concrete surface with the different grooves. The bottom used to be the only place to pass, and it usually took a nudge to someone’s bumper to make it happen. Now, with the new configuration, you can race the high side and make some passes up there.”

“If you’re paying attention, you can watch four or five different races going on around the track at one time. All I’m worried about is getting our No. 1 Chevrolet out of there in one piece and getting ahead of those guys in 12th and 13th place in the driver’s points.”

(August 2, 2011) – Mike Wallace and the No. 01 Chevrolet team of JD Motorsports have two races, so to speak, at once this weekend in Saturday night’s NASCAR Nationwide Series event at Iowa Speedway. First, they have to take on 42 other competitors throughout the 250-lap race for a good finish. They also are taking on two other drivers in the all-important Driver’s Standings battle that wages on all year long.

Heading into this weekend’s race, Wallace is shown 13th in the standings. Yet, just ahead of him are Trevor Bayne and Mike Bliss, who are tied for 11th. However, the essence of that battle is Wallace is trailing them by just one marker.

The Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel in Tama, Iowa http://www.meskwaki.com/ has provided rooms for the JD Motorsports team for the race weekend. They are the largest full service casino in the Midwest and offer more choices in gaming, dining, and entertainment. Guests can choose from over 1,400 of the newest and hottest reel and video slots with all the popular Vegas style table games including Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Baccarat, Pai Gow, Let it Ride, and Three Card poker. They also offer sit down, buffet and food arcade areas to please everyone’s culinary pallets.

Mike Wallace Notes and Info:

· This will be the St. Louis native’s 404th career NNS start and 22nd of the season. The four-time NNS race winner is on a streak of earning three consecutive top-20 finishes right now, with six of them coming in the last eight races.

· Wallace has earned a total of one top-five, two top-10, four top-15 and 11 top-20 finishes this year.

· In two previous starts at the short track of Iowa Speedway, he’s earned a 28th and 19th place, respectively, finishes. When the series visited here earlier this year, he started 21st en route to that 19th place result.

· As mentioned, he’s currently 13th in the Driver’s Standings trailing two drivers tied for 11th by just one point.

· There are two practice sessions on Friday then qualifying airs on ESPN2 Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET with race action soon after at 7 p.m. for the 250 lap race.

Chrissy Wallace “Trek to the Championship” watch is on as Mike’s daughter goes for her sixth win in the Late Model division at Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Missouri. She’s currently leading the tight points battle with seven races left in her season. So, with both of them racing under the lights at their respective tracks on Saturday night, there will be two green flags waving over father and daughter at the same time, just in different states.

“I grew up on the short tracks like we’ll be racing on at Iowa Speedway this weekend. So, I already have a liking for any track like this one. They did a great job in building this place and I know my brother, Rusty, was instrumental in working with them on the design and layout.”

“I like racing here because there are multiple grooves and you’re not stuck in the single line around the track mentality like we are at some tracks. The two practice sessions on Friday are late enough that we’ll get a good chance to dial our Chevrolet in just right.”

“It’s going to be tough keeping up with how Chrissy is doing while we’re both racing at the same time, but I’m sure someone will figure out how to get word to me.”

“I’d like to thank the folks at Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel for their hospitality this weekend. It’s a great place to stay, and play.”

(July 1, 2011)— In what can only be described as a continued string of poor luck, the Hefty Racing® team saw their night end early at Daytona Int’l Speedway with a wrecked racecar and a 37th-place finish. Running in a tandem draft with teammate Mike Bliss, the duo had climbed into the top-15 early and was in position for a great result but, unfortunately, the No. 19 made contact with the right rear of McClure’s car just before the entrance into turn one, which sent McClure hard into the outside wall. For precautionary reasons McClure was transported to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with a concussion and released early Saturday morning.

“It’s just a product of the two-car tandem draft and the manner we have to race now. Mike (Bliss) and I were working well together and we were getting comfortable with the two-car pushing and made quite a bit of progress. Stevie (Reeves, spotter) was awesome and everything was going well and we were a lap or two away from switching spots and me being the ‘pusher’ again. We just got separated briefly when passing two cars and I think we misjudged the reconnect; everything just happens so fast out there. I’m proud of our team and how we were running up until that point.”

Eric McClure

Starting Friday night’s Subway Jalapeno 250 from the 39th position, it didn’t take long for McClure, who had to start at the rear of the field due to adjustments following his qualifying session, to find his teammate. They began working together and keeping pace with the middle part of the field. When the first caution was displayed on lap 26, crew chiefs Gary Cogswell and Paul Clapprood (No. 19), strategizing together, made the call to bring their respective cars to pit road for four tires and fuel. The No. 14 Hefty® BlackOut™ / Reynolds™ Chevrolet was scored in the 29th position.

When the race restarted on lap 30, Bliss and McClure found each other once again and the pair began making their way through the field. The duo had advanced to the 19th and 20th positions when the second caution flag was displayed for an accident on lap 33. The call was made for both cars to stay on the track when the pit road opened, which allowed McClure to restart the event in the 15th position on lap 38.

Over the next seven laps McClure and Bliss continued to work together until Bliss, who was behind the No. 14 Chevrolet at the time, accidentally clipped the right side of McClure’s car in the straightway between the start/finish line to turn one on lap 44. With heavy damage, the 32-year-old driver was credited with a 37th-place finish.

Next up for the Hefty Racing® team is the Feed the Children 300 at Kentucky Speedway on Friday, July 8, 2011. Catch all of the action live on ESPN beginning at 7:00pm (ET).
