Sparta, KY (07-07-2011) – It wouldn’t have been fitting for a Georgia Boot-sponsored Tundra to waltz easily into the limelight at Kentucky Speedway on Thursday night. So, Todd Bodine and the No. 30 crew took the ‘long way’ toward earning their fourth-place finish. From the drop of the green flag, Bodine explained that his Tundra wasn’t handling the way he needed it. The Georgia Boot pit crew took several big swings at the chassis setup and pulled off some amazing pit stops doing it. The result was that Bodine started 20th and made consistent gains throughout the night to finish fourth.

“We worked hard tonight. Georgia Boot, America’s Hardest Working Boot, was with us here in Kentucky and we couldn’t let them down,” said Bodine, who started the night in 20th place and with the help of his Georgia Boot pit crew, made it up into the top-five by night’s end. “(Mike Hillman) Junior made some good calls and our crew did an awesome job with a lot of changes tonight. We made shock adjustments, air pressure adjustments, you name it, we did it. The Georgia Boot Tundra was the best there at the end. We were good in the middle, but then it got a little tight. At the end, we were pretty good and it was great to get a good finish for everyone at Georgia Boot.”

The defending race winners, crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. discussed the two-day race weekend.

“Kentucky has always been an interesting track for this No. 30 crew. We won there last year after spinning out halfway through the race. That’s how things seem to go for us there. Whatever we get, we have to earn at Kentucky. It’s great we were able to turn the hard work of this Georgia Boot pit crew into a strong, fourth-place finish for our new sponsor. If we had a few more laps without cautions there at the end, we may have been able to challenge for the lead, but our top-five with the Georgia Boot Tundra was a good team effort,” said Hillman, who’s led the team to three top-five and four top-ten finishes in seven races at Kentucky.

Georgia Boot is based out of nearby Nelsonville, OH, and there were several company guests in the pits, experiencing the adventures of the Georgia Boot Tundra crew first-hand. They witnessed arguably the best pit crew in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series make eight flawless pit stops that played a key role in the team’s fourth-place finish.

Bodine jumped two spots in the Truck Series standings to 11th following Kentucky’s race results.
