Mark Martin, with a lap speed of 126.707 mph, posted the fastest lap during the first NSCS Capital City 400 practice session at Richmond International Raceway.
Second fastest with a lap speed of 126.186 mph, was Greg Biffle, followed by Paul Menard (126.139 mph - will have to go to a back-up car due to wreck after throttle got stuck) who was third fastest, Clint Bowyer (126.133) fourth and Joey Logano (125.997) was fifth fastest.
Rounding out the top-ten fastest during practice were Jimmie Johnson (125.886 mph) who was sixth fastest, AJ Allmendinger (125.739) seventh, Brad Keselowski (125.657) eighth, Aric Almirola (125.646) ninth and Denny Hamlin (125.617) posting the tenth fastest lap speed.
