The Headlines:
Michael Annett Top-10 Points Contender Heading into Richmond:
Michael Annett, driver of the No. 62 Pilot Flying J Toyota Camry, advanced from 12th to 10th in the NASCAR Nationwide Series championship point standings following Saturday’s Nashville 300 at Nashville Superspeedway. Only 80 points from first in the points race, Annett aims to continue to increase his standing in Nationwide Series points with strong finishes in the coming races. Friday’s Nationwide Series Bubba Burger 250 will be his fifth career start at Richmond International Raceway.Girl Power on Pilot Flying J Team: Rusty Wallace Racing’s Lori Adams, one of very few females in the NASCAR Nationwide Series garage, hails from the Commonwealth State. Adams moved from her hometown of Herndon, Virginia to NASCAR’s motorsports hub in North Carolina eight years ago, and has been employed by Rusty Wallace Racing for three years. She and her husband, Ken, co-drive the No. 62 Pilot Flying J transporter. Not only does Adams show her strength as a minority in the garage, but she has conquered one of life’s toughest battles not once, but twice, as a two-time survivor of breast cancer. In addition to her transporter driving responsibilities, Adams cooks for the entire Rusty Wallace Racing organization during race weekends and on race day performs pit sign duties for the No. 62 Pilot Flying J team.
Winner’s Circle Home to Wallace at Richmond: A 55-time winner in NASCAR’s premier racing series, team owner Rusty Wallace achieved six of his Sprint Cup Series victories at Richmond International Raceway. As an organization, Rusty Wallace Racing has five top-five and 11 top-10 finishes on Richmond International Raceway’s .75 mile oval with only one DNF in 25 total starts.
RWR Teams Show Support for Toyota: Rusty Wallace Racing’s No. 62 and No. 66 teams, along with others in Toyota’s NASCAR family, will again show their support for the American Red Cross disaster relief in Japan this weekend at Richmond International Raceway by sporting relief effort graphics on their Toyota Camrys. Currently, Toyota, its dealers and business partners worldwide have contributed more than $7 million to support the relief and recovery efforts in Japan. To donate, please visit www.redcross.org.
