This improbable win for Peters came even though he had to overcome two major obstacles during the night. Peters started deep in the field at a track that is notorious for having the winner start near the top of the grid. In fact, his 16th place starting position was the furthest back a driver has ever started the event and gone on to win the race. He also fought back from a tire coming apart on lap 90 and bringing out a caution on lap 91 which allowed the team to make needed changes for the remainder of the race and win on this tough track.

“I grew up on short track racing and I love all 25 races that are on the schedule but when I come to short tracks I just feel like I’m a little more in my element and it showed tonight,” he said following the race. “I don’t want to be labeled a short track driver, I want to win anywhere but I will take them anyway I can get them or where it is at.”

The Kroger SpeedFest weekend will conclude at Lucas Oil Raceway with the running of the 30th annual Kroger 200 benefitting Riley Hospital for Children on Saturday night. Gate open at 10 a.m. which coincides with the first practice of the morning, qualifying starts at 4:40 and the race, which could be the final time NASCAR is at the track for the near future is set to start at 7:30. Tickets are still on sale for the race and can be purchased at the gate on Saturday.

One of five drag racing facilities owned and operated by the National Hot Rod Association, Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis was built in 1960 and has presented organized racing events since 1961. From March through October, the facility hosts more than 120 dates of racing on three tracks, a quarter-mile drag strip, a .686-mile paved oval and a 2.5-mile road course. Home to drag racing’s biggest event, the NHRA Mac Tools U.S. Nationals over Labor Day weekend, the drag strip runs more than 50 days of point-to-point action, from national events to street legal community programs. The oval track draws racing’s biggest events, including annual visits from the NASCAR Nationwide, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and annual USAC races. The road course provides a home for several racing sanctions, while providing an ideal resource for driving schools, corporate outings and open-road tests for professional drivers.

Worth, Texas.

JAMIE ALLISON, Director Ford Motorsports – “A historic moment today by Mustang … We are all proud of Mustang first win in NASCAR Nationwide race. This victory by Carl Edwards puts his name into the record books among the many great drivers who have won in Mustangs since it debuted in 1964. It was always said Mustang was ‘born to race,’ and this victory, along with the victories Mustang has won in drag racing, sports car racing and rally racing over the years, just further proves that point.”

Other Mustang Motorsports Milestones:

• A little more than a month after its April 17 introduction, Mustang was on the race track as a pace car leading the 1964 Indianapolis 500. Before the year was out, Mustang was a winner in competition, finishing first and second in class in the 1964 Tour de France international rally.

• By 1965, Ford was involved with cars competing in the National Hot Rod Association’s Factory Experimental, or A/FX class, as the 427-cubic-inch single overhead cam V-8 made a potent powerplant in Holman & Moody’s A/FX Mustangs. Ten of these Mustangs were built, and five of them qualified in the Factory Stock Eliminator field at the ’65 NHRA Winternationals. Bill Lawton drove his Tasca Ford Mustang A/FX to victory in the car’s very first race.

• In 1965, Carroll Shelby, responding to Ford’s challenge to build a winning road racing program, introduced the Mustang GT-350 – a stripped down Mustang 2+2 with modified suspension, shocks, steering, brakes and Ford 289-cubic-inch V-8s – for Sports Car Club of America competition. Jerry Titus, Bob Johnson and Mark Donohue drove GT-350s to national titles in 1965, and the GT-350 went on to win SCCA B-Production national championships for three straight years.

• To performance enthusiasts, 1969 was dominated by the hottest Mustangs ever — 428 Mach 1, Boss 429 and Boss 302. Three modified examples of this fearsome threesome were taken to the Bonneville Salt Flats in search of speed records. Driven by Mickey Thompson, Danny Ongais, Ray Brock and Bob Ottum, they collected 295 United States Auto Club-certified records, including a 24-hour run on a 10-mile course at an average speed of 157 miles an hour.

• In 1970, Bud Moore’s team raced against one of the most competitive Trans-Am fields of all time with six factory teams. Parnelli Jones and George Follmer fulfilled the promise of a year earlier by winning six races and the manufacturers’ championship as Jones took the drivers’ title.

• Mustang was a favorite of short-track stock car racers through most of the seventies. In 1972, Dick Trickle raced a Mustang to a national record of 67 short track feature wins in one season. And in drag racing, drivers like Connie Kalitta, Shirley Muldowney and Don Nicholson kept Mustang in the winner’s circle.

• Pro Stock gained popularity, and by 1975 a now-familiar name was in the record books. Bob Glidden drove a Ford Pinto to his first Pro Stock championship in ’74, and then switched to Mustang for ’75, winning four national events and his second NHRA championship — Mustang’s first Pro Stock title.

• John Force, perhaps the most dominant racer of a single race series, broke his own NHRA drag racing record by winning his 12th national crown in his Ford Mustang Funny Car in 2002 and registered his 15th series championship last season.

DULUTH, Ga. (Dec. 10) – Multi-car team owner and driver Roger Burgess has hired Brad Personett to tune and drive a turbo-powered Pro Mod racecar under the ProCare Rx umbrella. Personett will relocate to Burgess’ R2B2 Racing shop in Duluth, Ga., immediately and begin preparations for the 2011 Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series.

“I’m pleased that Brad has joined the R2B2 Racing family,” Burgess said. “He’ll be tuning our hemi-powered turbo Pro Mod cars and will also continue to drive his car and compete for the championship himself in 2011. Additionally, Brad will help us in the development of a chassis specifically designed for turbo-powered racecars.”

Personett has achieved unparalleled success with his turbo-powered entry, which he’s been campaigning for three years. He currently holds the national record for top speed in the Pro Mod class with his run of 255.39 mph, set at this year’s U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis.

“This is an awesome opportunity for me and I couldn’t be more excited about joining Roger, Al Billes, and the rest of the team,” Personett said. “It’s very satisfying to know that all this work we’ve put into this program will continue forward. I think it’s important to have the diversity of turbo, nitrous, and supercharged cars in the Pro Mod class, especially as we work towards Roger’s goal of having a Worldwide Pro Mod Association.”

Early indications point to several new turbo-powered cars competing in the Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series in 2011 as other racers fellow Personett’s lead and attempt to tame the incredible horsepower the combination produces.

“Brad had an outstanding season, winning two races and finishing third in the points,” Burgess said. “He also showed the Pro Mod world that a turbo-powered car can be very competitive in quarter-mile drag racing by becoming the first turbo driver to win an NHRA national event in Pro Mod. Now several others are wanting to get on board. It’s going to be a great season.”

Burgess will once again field his own ’68 Camaro in Pro Mod to compliment Personett’s entry. He also owns and supports the In-N-Out Burger Dodge Charger R/T of Funny Car driver Melanie Troxel, which will compete in all 22 NHRA Full Throttle national events in 2011.

The evening will be called the “Thursday Night Triple Header” and will feature the ARCA Racing Series, the USAC Mopar National Midget Series, and the USAC Silver Crown Series, marking the first time that all three series have raced at one venue on the same night.

“We feel the Thursday Night Triple Header will be an incredible night of racing and will be a tremendous addition to the storied history of Kroger SpeedFest,” said Wes Collier, acting general manager at O’Reilly Raceway Park. “All three of these series will add to what is already some of the best racing in the country during the course of three evenings.”

ARCA’s appearance at the 0.686-mile Indianapolis oval will mark the series’ first race at O’Reilly Raceway Park since the 1985 season, when Bob Schacht won for the second time. Schacht is the all-time leading ARCA winner in the series’ seven-race history at O’Reilly Raceway Park.

“USAC and O’Reilly Raceway Park have provided us with a tremendous opportunity to join what is already a great night of racing during the Kroger SpeedFest,” said ARCA president Ron Drager. “We hope to add to the energy and excitement of all the racing taking place in Indianapolis that week.”

USAC has a rich and storied tradition at O’Reilly Raceway Park, with 292 races run at the facility and a list of winners including A. J. Foyt, Mario Andretti, Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, and Jeff Gordon. USAC and ARCA have raced together in the past; the Silver Crown Series raced with ARCA in 1998 at Memphis and the Mopar National Midget Series appeared on the same bill at South Boston in 2003.

“Our long relationship with our friends at ARCA has produced some memorable racing weekends,” said Kevin Miller, president and CEO of USAC. “We are pleased that we can offer this tremendous tripleheader event to the race fans at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis, one of the nation’s premier racing facilities. It’s been seven years since the Midgets and ARCA shared billing and a dozen years since ARCA and the Silver Crown cars were on the same bill. We are extremely excited about this program and look forward to what we expect to be one of our season’s signature events.”

Bob Sargent, president of Track Enterprises, is the promoter of the ARCA stock car portion of Thursday’s activities.

“Having promoted a large number of USAC and ARCA events at various facilities in the past decade, I’m very familiar with the quality of racing events USAC and ARCA have provided for race fans,” said Sargent. “Being able to see a USAC National Midget Series, USAC Silver Crown Series, and ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards race in one night makes this a real value for the ticket buyer.”

The 2011 Kroger SpeedFest triumphantly returns to O’Reilly Raceway Park on July 28-30 and will once again feature the NASCAR Nationwide Series, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, ARCA Racing Series, and USAC Midget and Silver Crown Series during the course of three thrilling nights of racing.

More information on ticket prices, schedule of events and event information will be available at OReillyRacewayPark.com, USACRacing.com, and ARCARacing.com in the coming months.

One of five drag racing facilities owned and operated by the National Hot Rod Association, O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis was built in 1960 and has presented organized racing events since 1961. From March through October, the facility hosts more than 120 dates of racing on three tracks: a quarter-mile drag strip, a 0.686-mile paved oval and a 2.5-mile road course.

Home to drag racing’s biggest event, the NHRA U.S. Nationals over Labor Day weekend, the drag strip runs more than 50 days of point-to-point action, from national events to street legal community programs. The oval track draws racing’s biggest events, including annual visits from the NASCAR Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series and annual USAC races. The road course provides a home for several racing sanctions, while providing an ideal resource for driving schools, corporate outings and open-road tests for professional drivers.

ESPN2 Airing 11 Hours of NHRA U.S. Nationals Coverage

The biggest event of the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series season will have 11 hours of coverage on ESPN2 this weekend with the running of the 56th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis. Expanded qualifying and eliminations telecasts will culminate with five consecutive hours on Labor Day Monday, the final day of competition.

ESPN2’s coverage of the first event in the NHRA’s Countdown to 1 playoffs begins Sunday, Sept. 5, at 10 a.m. ET with a one-hour qualifying program. At 11 a.m., NHRA RaceDay presented by Lucas Oil brings viewers up-to-date with the latest NHRA news and sets up the rest of the day’s action. Immediately following at 11:30 a.m., ESPN2 will telecast 2 ½ hours of U.S. Nationals qualifying. More qualifying coverage airs for two hours starting at 5 p.m.

Monday’s non-stop action kicks off at 1 p.m. with eliminations and finals. In addition to the ESPN2 telecast, fans can watch the entire day of eliminations for all classes live on ESPN3.com, ESPN’s live sports broadband network at www.espn3.com.

Each Labor Day weekend, NHRA racers and fans descend on O’Reilly Raceway Park for the biggest, oldest, richest, and most prestigious drag race in the world. They say that no career is truly complete without a win at drag racing’s grandest event. The fabled strip is regarded by many as one of the smoothest on the circuit, and the stakes are indeed high. As it did two years ago, this event now serves as the kickoff for the Countdown playoffs and the six-race run to the Full Throttle championships. In 2009, the facility improved the fan experience with the debut of more permanent grandstands.

The 19-year-old finished fourth in the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series Championship Point Standings, and was runner-up in Rookie of the Year contention.

In practice Saturday, Coulter rounded the high banked one-mile oval in a time of 26.088 for a speed of 137.994 miles per hour. That time put the Miami Springs, Florida native 24th on the speed charts. As Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell rolled off shortly after 2:30 p.m., Coulter was able to improve that time to 25.273 for a speed of 142.445 miles per hour. This put him 15th on the starting grid for Sunday’s ARCA RE/MAX American 200.

For the 200-lap event, Coulter was able to advance his starting spot by two positions because of an engine change for the No. 6 of Justin Lofton and unapproved changes to the No. 51 of Casey Roderick. The two fellow competitors had to drop to the rear of the field, which moved Coulter into the 13th position when the green flag waved starting the season finale at “The Rock”.

For much of the event, Coulter maintained his top-15 position as the field remained under green flag racing conditions until lap 71. Coulter radioed to crew chief Harold Holly under caution informing him of a loose racecar, therefore Holly opted to bring the No. 16 Darrell Gwynn Foundation-Tempest Cycles Chevrolet down pit road on lap 74. Holly decided on four fresh tires, fuel, and a wedge adjustment to help with Coulter’s loose-handling racecar.

As the field returned to green flag action, Coulter carefully maneuvered his way up to the 11th position before the caution flag would wave once again on lap 116. As leaders came to pit road for scheduled stops on lap 119, Coulter brought his No. 16 machine back down as well for fuel and a set of four fresh tires.

The field would see the caution flag three more times before the final restart came on lap 159, setting the field up for a 41 lap run to the finish. Coulter found himself in 12th position on the final restart, but quickly advanced his position to ninth. As the laps dwindled down, Coulter battled with the No. 32 of Brett Moffit and No. 44 of Frank Kimmel. Coulter was able to clear both competitors just inside of 10 laps remaining in the 200-lap event, taking the checkered flag in ninth position.

“We kind of fought with the car during practice, but were able to really get the car dialed in after our first pit stop,” stated Coulter on the handling issue he was able to overcome early on. “Track position meant everything, and with some late cautions and lap cars, we weren’t able to get our No. 16 Darrell Gwynn Foundation-Tempest Cycles Chevrolet to the front where it needed to be. In the final race of the season, I’m pleased to bring home another top-10 finish for the team,” added Coulter on his run.

Looking back on his 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series rookie season, Coulter is thrilled to have the finishes he’s had, as well as earning a top-five Championship Point Standings position. “I think we under estimated ourselves at the beginning of the year. We were able to achieve more in this year than I had ever expected. I have to give big thanks to Harold Holly (Crew chief), Richie Harris (Car chief), and Michael Chapman (Team engineer) for really helping me through my rookie learning curve. Together we conquered many obstacles and I can’t wait until next season,” stated eager Coulter.

In Coulter’s 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series rookie season, he has earned two Menards Pole Awards (Iowa and Toledo), seven top-five finishes (Four in the top-three), and 13 top-10 finishes. He also led a total of 156 laps in three of the 21 race events. Coulter finished fourth in the Championship Point Standings and runner-up in Rookie of the Year contention.

The next event for the ARCA RE/MAX Series will be the Championship Awards Banquet at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Kentucky Saturday night, December 5th.

However, late race contac t with the turn four wall hindered the Miami Springs, Florida driver from capturing what would have been his first career win in the ARCA RE/MAX Series competition.

In the only practice session Saturday, Coulter rounded the half-mile in a time of 17.603 or 113.503 miles per hour. That speed carried over into Menards Pole Qualifying as Coulter maneuvered his No. 16 Darrell Gwynn Foundation-Tempest Cycles Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS around the quirky short track for a time of 17.169 or 116.373 miles per hour to put him fourth on the starting grid.

As the green flag flew starting the 200 lap Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic, Coulter quickly advanced two positions and settled into second, behind the No. 6 of Justin Lofton. Coulter remained in second until scheduled pit stops came on lap 62. As Coulter took on four tires and fuel, the No. 44, 77, 25 and 4 took on only two tires. This shuffled Coulter back to sixth when the field restarted on lap 67.

By a mere 50 laps, Coulter had maneuvered his No. 16 machine back to second and began closing in on leader Justin Lofton. As Coulter and Lofton approached lap traffic on lap 136, Coulter took the lead and continually pulled away to extend his lead.

Coulter, at a blistering pace, lapped the entire field up to third place runner and championship point contender Parker Kligerman. Coulter came to pit road under caution on lap 169 for right side tires and a splash of fuel and remained in the lead as the field restarted on lap 173.

On lap 176 Coulter entered turn one and slid high, which allowed Lofton to get underneath for the lead on lap 177. As Coulter slipped to second, he looked to g ain ground on Lofton in hopes to regain the lead and continue on to his first career win of 2009. However, on lap 179 Coulter entered turns three and four high, and again, slid up the track and slammed the turn four wall. The damage was significant enough that Coulter was not able to return to racing action and was forced to settle for 15th position, with 180 laps completed.

“Our No. 16 Darrell Darrell Gwynn Foundation-Tempest Cycles Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS was great tonight. I hate it for this team because we work so hard, and the guys want a win just as bad as I do,” stated Coulter. “On lap 176 I locked the brakes up in turn one which allowed Justin Lofton to get by for the lead, but I honestly don’t know what happened in three and four. It was just very disappointing to have our evening cut short.”

Coulter, who led a total of 39 laps in the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic, was the biggest challenger and only driver in the 29-car field to pass eventual race winner Justin Lofton.

The ARCA RE/MAX Series has a break from series competition before traveling to Kansas Speedway on October 1. The Kansas Lottery 150 will air LIVE on SPEED at 5 p.m. Eastern.

(Sept. 16, 2009) – Auto Club Speedway continues to be the premiere motorsports facility of Southern California, attracting major sanctioning bodies for events again in 2010. NASCAR, American Motorcycle Association and the National Hot Rod Association all plan on making stops at Auto Club Speedway next year, as well as a return engagement for one of Southern California’s biggest 4th of July Celebrations – Red, White & Cruise. And of course, Hollywood will no doubt make a stop or two for movie or series tapings as they did several times in 2009.

While Auto Club Speedway is active nearly 365 days a year, below are a few events race fans are sure to enjoy next year:

NASCAR

Auto Club 500, February 21, 2010; Pepsi 500, October 10, 2010

Auto Club Speedway is proud to host two NASCAR race weekends. February 21, 2010 the West Coast Premiere of NASCAR returns with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race — the Auto Club 500. October 10, 2010 marks the sophomore year since the Pepsi 500 took its place as the fourth race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup playoff season.

AMERICAN MOTORCYCLIST ASSOCIATION (AMA)

Suzuki AMA Pro Superbike Challenge, March 26-28, 2010

On the heels of the Auto Club 500, the nation’s top motorcycle riders will compete in the Suzuki AMA Pro Superbike Challenge at Auto Club Speedway’s 2.36-mile, 21-turn layout motorcycle course. Race fans looking for a high-octane adrenalin rush, won’t want to miss the Suzuki AMA Pro Superbike Challenge at Auto Club Speedway, March 26-28, 2010.

RED, WHITE AND CRUISE, 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION

Summertime at Auto Club Speedway includes one of the largest and most spectacular 4th of July celebrations in Southern California – the K-FROG “Red, White and Cruise presented by Stater Bros. and Pepsi” 4th of July extravaganza. This past Independence Day, tens of thousands of Southern Californians enjoyed this day-long community festival filled with live musical entertainment from American Idol fifth-season winner Taylor Hicks and country music sensation Jimmy Wayne; the high-flying, gravity-defying demonstrations of the Moto-X stunt team Metal Mulisha; historic car cruise and car show; the 30-minute star-spangled musical score fireworks show and much more. Southern Californians can expect this and even more fun at next year’s “Red, White and Cruise” 4th of July celebration at Auto Club Speedway.

HSR WEST HISTORIC SPORTS CAR FESTIVAL

HOLLYWOOD

Auto Club Speedway continues to serve as a popular backdrop for many of today’s television programs and commercial spots. In 2009, the NBC hit show “The Biggest Loser” taped a segment for its show at ACS, with a little help from NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer who make a special appearance on a March episode. Hamburger Helper taped one of its latest TV spots, starring Bowyer, at the Speedway. The HBO hit comedy series Entourage, made a stop as did Tori Spelling and husband Dean McDermott’s Oxygen network reality show Home Sweet Hollywood.

Events and schedule are subject to change. For updated information visit www.autoclubspeedway.com.

To experience the fast-paced thrills of Auto Club Speedway, fans don’t have to wait for 2010. In the end, the rookie of the year candidate brought home a solid 11th place finish.

“It was tough. I’ve never been on a road course before this weekend and we used the time to learn,” stated Coulter. “Practice was critical. I mainly worked on trying to figure out the course, as well as setting a rhythm,” added Coulter.

The Miami Springs, Florida native started 17th for the 67-lap event. As the green flag waved starting the 150-mile journey around the 12-turn road course, Coulter found himself in 12th position when a full course caution came out on lap three.

As the field restarted, Coulter settled into the 15th position and found a rhythm around the quirky road course. He remained in the 15th position until pit stops came on lap 30, when he brought his No. 16 Darrell Gwynn Foundation-Tempest Cycles Chevy to pit road for tires and fuel.

At the halfway mark, the 19-year-old rookie had made his way back up to the 12th position, where he consistently stayed until a full course caution came on lap 59. As several other teams opted to pit, Coulter stayed out.

With a five lap chase to the checkered flag in sight, Coulter was in 11th position. As the field went back to green-flag racing, Coulter remained in that position for the remainder of the race. As the checkered flag waved, Coulter brought home a solid 11th place finish in his first career road course start.

“I’m not going to lie, I struggled early on. I’ve never been on a road course before, so I got a little frustrated at times. We had a good point’s day, and I learned a lot. We’ll take an 11th place finish for my first road course race,” said Coulter after the race. “I’ll take this road course experience, along with our notes, and work on it for next year.”

Next up on the ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule is a trip back to Salem, Indiana for the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic at Salem Speedway on September 19.

Coming off a well respected seventh place finish at Kentucky, where the 19-year-old had to resort to a back-up car after making contact with the turn two wall in qualifying Coulter stated, “I like the intermediate tracks a lot, but not as much as the short tracks.
Coulter continued, “I’ve heard that it’s an interesting place to race, I’ve looked it up and the fact that it doesn’t have a backstretch wall is a little awkward. However, our goal is just like any other weekend, go out and perform our best and be in contention to bring home that trophy when the checkered flag waves.”

Coulter’s most recent short track appearance came at Mansfield Motorsports Park, were he brought home a career-best second in the Tim Richmond Memorial 200.

To date, Coulter has competed in all eleven ARCA RE/MAX Series events and is currently fourth in the championship point standings. The Miami Springs, Florida native has one Menards Pole Award (Iowa), four consecutive top-five finishes, along with seven top-ten finishes in 2009.

The one-day show at Berlin Raceway gets underway Saturday, July 25 with practice scheduled from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. EST, followed by Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell at 5:00 p.m. The start of the Wolverine Power Systems 200 presented by Generac is scheduled to go off at 8:30 p.m. Saturday night.

The 19-year-old rookie had to start the Click It or Ticket Buckle-Up Kentucky 150 using a provisional, just one week after earning his career first Menards Pole Award presented by Ansell at Iowa Speedway. However, Coulter was able to maintain his top-ten streak by bringing home a seventh place finish.

“I was definitely going for it, I think we had a really good chance of getting our second Menards Pole Award but as I came off turn two the car came around and that’s when I made contact with the turn two wall,” stated Coulter. “I really have to thank my entire crew, they did a great job with bringing out the backup car and getting it race ready in such a short amount of time. The car is demolished, and I have to give thanks to the safety precautions, the SAFER barrier, as well as the use of the Safety Solutions Hybrid Pro device.”

Coulter rolled off the starting grid 33rd for the Click It or Ticket Buckle-Up Kentucky 150, and shortly after taking the green flag the Miami Springs, Florida native charged into 25th position before the caution flag flew on lap two for an incident involving the No. 90. Coulter would move into the top-20 as the caution flag flew once again on lap six for the No. 60 spinning on the front stretch.

Coulter continued to charge to the front and had moved into the 14th position when the caution flag flew approaching lap 25, which sent leaders to pit road. Crew Chief Harold Holly chose to make a track bar adjustment, along with four tires and fuel, which shuffled Coulter from inside the top-15 to 25th on the restart.

Ten green flag laps passed, and Coulter continued his charge to the front, gaining six positions which moved him into 19th. As several lead cars pitted, Holly told his driver to stay out for track position. Once the field restarted on lap 45, Coulter was 11th on the scoring pylon.

Nearing the halfway mark, Coulter brought his No. 16 Gwynn Foundation-Tempest Cycles Chevrolet down pit road one final time for fuel and a wedge adjustment. The adjustments would shuffle him back to the 25th position.

The final round of pit stops came just inside of the final 35 laps, but Coulter was good to go until the end, so he kept his No. 16 machine on the track as the leaders dashed down pit road. This strategy shifted Coulter from outside the top-15 to fifth as the field restarted on lap 69.

As the final green flag laps neared, the No. 77, 6 and 51 would get by Coulter, shifting him into the eighth position. But as the field approached the white flag, the No. 11 ran out of fuel, which moved Coulter into seventh position as the checkered flag waved.

“Overall it was still a good night for Coulter Motorsports, we brought out our back-up, started in the rear, charged from the back to the front on a couple of different occasions, and still brought home top-ten finish. Having to come from the back of the field definitely made for some excitement,” stated Coulter on his top-ten run.

Next up for the ARCA RE/MAX Series is a one-day show at Berlin Raceway for the Wolverine Power Systems 200 presented by Generac Saturday, July 25. Practice is scheduled from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. EST Saturday, July 25 with Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell following at 5:00 p.m. The start of the Wolverine Power Systems 200 presented by Generac is scheduled to go off at 8:30 p.m. Saturday night.
