Starting in the 18th position, Ambrose had a phenomenal start and motored his way past eight cars on the first lap of the 90-lap event to put himself in 10th position coming to the stripe.
On Lap 15 Ambrose relayed to the crew that his DEWALT Ford was tight in the center of the corners. Five laps later, Ambrose was scored in 11th at the end of the first segment on Lap 20.
