NELSON PIQUET JR. ON MAKING NATIONWIDE SERIES DEBUT
“I’m really excited to do my first road course NASCAR race in the Nationwide series with Baker Curb Racing. I can’t wait to get back in the driving seat! I’ve had a good year having positive experiences in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the ARCA Racing Series. I’ve learned so much every time I’ve raced, had some encouraging results and this is another good step for me. Everything will be new again, from the team to the car and the track, but I’m sure I’ll get up to speed quickly and have another really constructive race weekend in NASCAR.”
CREW CHIEF JOHN REESE ON WATKINS GLEN
“Drew Herring gave us a much needed strong run last weekend at Iowa. We had a stretch of some tough look but the guys at the shop continues to keep working hard and their efforts paid off last weekend. We look forward to keeping the positive momentum going this weekend at Watkins Glen with Nelson Piquet Jr. in the car. We are taking car 78 this weekend, which is the same car that Owen finished fifth with at Road America in June. Nelson grew up road racing so I’m sure he will adapt quickly to the Nationwide cars in his first NASCAR road race and be a strong contender for the win.”
