It&#8217;s just awesome to end a year on this note right here.  We looked to stay out and we didn&#8217;t have anything to lose.  We were gambling to see if we could get us another victory but I tried to get the tires as clean as I could and I spun them a little bit.  A rookie mistake on my part. I&#8217;ve got to thank Chad Kendrick (crew chief) and everybody on this team.  They do a great job.  From where we started at Daytona not knowing if we could make it past Martinsville. <p><strong>How did your truck handle during the race?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;It was good for us.  Our <a href="http://www.Strutmasters.com">Strutmasters.com</a> Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra was good right off the lift gate.  We made a gamble there at the end to stay out thinking some people would stay out with us but everybody came in.  Chad Kendrick (crew chief) did a great job.  The whole team &#8212; considering where we started at in Daytona not knowing that I could make it past Martinsville.   I don&#8217;t know where we ended up in points but we had a good finish and got us a win this year.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;They had fresh tires.  Everybody came down pit road and we were just the lonely sole out there.  But all in all it was a<br />
good day.  I&#8217;m just ecstatic.  When we joined Red Horse Racing we were 19th in drivers points and I think we ended up<br />
around seventh.  It&#8217;s been an awesome year and I&#8217;m ready to go to Daytona.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>What happened on the final restart?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;When you race with these guys you learn a lot and (Kevin) Harvick is the best of the best.  I cleaned my tires off but<br />
evidentially it wasn&#8217;t enough.  I made a rookie mistake and spun them too much, but he had new tires and was going to go<br />
by us in turn one anyway.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>What happened from your viewpoint on the &#8216;green-white-checkered&#8217; finish?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;The truck series usually is pretty crazy with the green-white-checkered.  Before the caution came out we had the fastest<br />
truck on the track.  We were just so far back, we were running seventh, so we decided to come in, put two tires on and gain<br />
a little track position.  We pumped the right front tire up a little too high and it pushed too much in the last two laps.  We<br />
still gained two spots.  Copart and everybody, I really appreciate what they&#8217;ve done for us this year in getting us through the<br />
year with their sponsorship.  It&#8217;s typical Germain Racing &#8212; we just never give up.  We started the season with a win at<br />
Daytona with no sponsor on the truck and we made it through the season with the help of Copart, Ventrillo and Lumber<br />
Liquidators.  It was a tough year, but we got through.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>What were you adjusting in your truck when you lifted the hood halfway through the race?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;The first set of tires, we corded the inside pretty bad.  I think it was really the right call to come in and adjust it so we<br />
didn&#8217;t blow it out.  We didn&#8217;t need to finish in the back &#8211; we needed to keep the points up to finish fourth in points.  It really<br />
didn&#8217;t help it drive any better, but it definitely saved the tire and kept us in front of Johnny (Sauter) for fourth in points.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;That was crazy and that cost us a spot right there.  I didn&#8217;t know if I was supposed to come on pit road or not.  Just had a<br />
lot of confusion going on with the radio right there.  We had about a fourth or fifth-place truck and we lost a couple spots<br />
right there at the end.  We&#8217;ve got a good race team and we&#8217;ve got a lot to build on.  I&#8217;m proud to be driving a Toyota Tundra<br />
and I can&#8217;t wait till Daytona.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;It was a great season and I really felt like I would have liked to have finished a little better last night.  I thought that we<br />
might have had a little better truck.  Eric (Phillips, crew chief) did a good job, the pit crew did a fantastic job &#8211; I don&#8217;t think<br />
the driver did that good of a job tonight.  I kept overdriving the corners and trying to get grip that just wasn&#8217;t there.  Tim<br />
Fedewa did a great job spotting, he kept trying to get me to slow down in the corner.  When I would slow down getting in<br />
the corner, I would run really good laps and we had a really good truck.  Got to work on the driver a little bit with these tires<br />
that are like this.  Goodyear does a great job and I know they&#8217;ll get us better stuff next year.&#8221;</p>

The bad news for Scott is that Johnny Sauter jumped both Scott and Braun and now holds a 13 point advantage for the fifth spot heading into next weekend’s NCWTS finale. After the Phoenix race Scott’s Xpress Motorsports crew discovered that a left rear shock absorber had failed and hampered Scott’s performance in the event.</p>
<p>Scott qualified his No. 16 Albertsons Toyota Tundra in the 8th position for Friday night’s event and held his spot over the first 30 laps. When the caution flag fell on lap 32, Scott radioed his crew that his truck seemed to “want to roll over on the right front.” He ducked down pit road for four fresh Goodyear tires on lap 35 and Sunoco fuel on lap 36. His crew also made a series of chassis adjustments including track bar, wedge and air pressure changes to aid the handling of his Toyota. Scott came into the pits in the 7th spot and exited in 9th. </p>
<p>Over the next 45 green flag laps Scott seesawed positions ranging from 7th to 10th. Scott struggled with the handling of his truck informing his crew that he was “loose on entry.” When the caution flag once again flew on lap 89, crew chief Jeff Hensley ordered his driver down pit road for “wholesale changes.” Scott pitted on lap 92 for tires and 93 for fuel and significant chassis adjustments – two rounds on the track bar and two rounds down in the left rear. Scott restarted the race on lap 96 in the 12th position and quickly moved up to 10th. Unfortunately on lap 128 Scott was pinned in on the frontstrech by a lapped vehicle and the result was a loss of four spots. Over the next  15 laps there were two more cautions. On the race’s last restart Scott was battling the No. 81 driven by Tayler Malsam when the two collided on lap 149, bringing out another caution as the leaders took the white flag. Malsam’s ensuing spin and contact with the turn four retaining wall brought out the yellow flag that ended the event. </p>

It looks like our battle for fifth in the points race is going to go down to the wire at Homestead. Johnny Sauter, our Xpress Motorsports team and Colin Braun are all right there. We just need to go to Homestead and have the kind of run that we know we are capable of having.”</p>
<p>Kevin Harvick won the Lucas Oil 150 and Ron Hornaday Jr. captured his fourth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship. Kyle Busch was second, Aric Almirola third, Hornaday Jr Ford 200 at Homstead-Miami Speedway. The event is slated for Friday November 20th and will be telecast live on SPEED at 8:00pm ET. It will also be broadcast live via radio worldwide on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and on SIRIUS Satellite Radio NASCAR channel 128.</p>

<p>Phoenix International Raceway &#8211; November 13, 2009</strong></p>
<p>- Kyle Busch (second) was the top finishing Toyota driver in Friday night&#8217;s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series<br />
(NCWTS) race at Phoenix International Raceway.</p>
<p>- Aric Almirola (third) also finished in the top-five at Phoenix, his seventh top-five result in 15 starts this season.<br />
Mike Skinner (sixth), Mike Bliss (seventh), David Starr (ninth) and Stacy Compton (10th) also had top-10 finishes<br />
for Toyota at the one-mile race track.</p>
<p>- Tundra drivers Brian Scott (11th), Todd Bodine (12th), T.J. Bell (13th), Timothy Peters (16th), Tayler Malsam<br />
(17th) and Brad Sweet (22nd) were also in the field.</p>
<p>- Five Tundra drivers are among the top-10 in the unofficial NCWTS point standings &#8212; Skinner (third), Bodine<br />
(fourth), Scott (sixth), Starr (eighth) and Peters (ninth) &#8211; with one race remaining in the 2009 season.</p>

<p><strong>How was your race tonight?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;We weren&#8217;t as good as the 4 (Kevin Harvick).  We did the best that we can and that&#8217;s all that we could come home with.<br />
He (Kevin Harvick) kicked our butt pretty bad last year and we got a gain on it this year and that gain right there, we need<br />
another one and we&#8217;ll be able to keep up with them or try to at least beat him.  We kept up with him tonight but needed a<br />
little more.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Did you feel that you had a race-winning truck tonight?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;We didn&#8217;t have enough for the (Kevin) Harvick trucks tonight.  (Ron) Hornaday kind of battled for a championship, played<br />
it smart and (Kevin) Harvick was really fast like I said before.  We came home second.  It was a good day for the<br />
Miccosukee Toyota Tundra.  We gained from last year.  (Kevin) Harvick whooped our butt pretty bad last year but we<br />
gained on it a little bit.  If we had another gain like that we probably would be able to keep up with him or win.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Did you feel like Kevin Harvick had a big advantage over you?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;It wasn&#8217;t bad, it was about what I expected.  I expected the 4 (Kevin Harvick) truck to be really, really good in which he<br />
was.  I guess he wasn&#8217;t driving in the beginning of the race.  He was just holding back seeing what everybody had.  Our<br />
truck was good.  We made a gain on it from last year to this year distancewise from (Kevin) Harvick.  Harvick was just<br />
stupid fast last year.  This year I felt like we made a gain.  If we can make another one of those gains next year then we&#8217;ll be<br />
right on him.  Overall, the Miccosukee Tundra was good.  We led some laps and tried to go for the win but just didn&#8217;t quite<br />
have enough on those restarts there.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Do you think the 51 truck has a chance at winning the owner&#8217;s championship next weekend?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I can&#8217;t close the gap, I&#8217;ve got to take that gap.  They&#8217;re going to race next week hard as ever.  They&#8217;re going to go and try<br />
to win the race.  That&#8217;s going to be the plan.  They&#8217;ve got the driver&#8217;s championship locked up so if they go out there and<br />
try to win the race and are successful at that then we can&#8217;t catch them.  But if they go out there and try to win the race and<br />
have problems by having issues whether it&#8217;s a wreck or engine or a tire &#8211; it could be anything.  That&#8217;s why we race races.<br />
Hopefully we can battle it out and have a good, strong run and see if we can&#8217;t beat them.  Sixty points, I don&#8217;t know how<br />
many spots that is but I take it that it&#8217;s probably 17 or so.  So it&#8217;s going to be hard to do.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>How did your truck handle during the race?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;We had a good truck.  Doug George (crew chief) and everybody on this AK Awareness.com Tundra did a really good job.<br />
I don&#8217;t know what it&#8217;s going to take to get one of these ones.  It&#8217;s not for a lack of effort.  I can promise you that.<br />
Everybody is racing their hearts out.  Our truck just wasn&#8217;t very good on short runs and for whatever reason that last set of<br />
tires didn&#8217;t take off very good for us.  It was really tight &#8211; that last set of tires.  We chattered the right front for quite a while<br />
and just couldn&#8217;t ever take off.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>How was your race tonight?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;It was a fun race tonight.  The race track widened out.  You could run two-wide pretty good.  The bottom lane was<br />
definitely preferred but you could move around.  It was a good race.  I&#8217;m just still disappointed, man, I want to get one of<br />
these wins some kind of bad.  We tried, we raced our butts off and we came home third.  That was what we had tonight.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Was your truck better on the short or long runs tonight?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;It wasn&#8217;t very good on short runs.  We struggled yesterday on short runs, too, in practice and for whatever reason it just<br />
wouldn&#8217;t take off.  We chattered the right front, chattered the right front and finally it would come in and take off and it<br />
would go pretty good.  I&#8217;m really proud of everybody at Billy Ballew Motorsports.  Doug George (crew chief) and all of the<br />
guys on this AK Awareness Tundra have been doing a great job.  We just came up short.  I&#8217;m going to win one of these<br />
races one of these days.  We just keep coming up short but it&#8217;s not for lack of effort.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>How has your team progressed over the season?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;Our team has really stepped their game up.  We bring trucks to the race track every single weekend and they&#8217;re capable of<br />
winning and I think we&#8217;ve proved that.  Talladega we ran one-two and unfortunately I was second.  Texas we had a top-<br />
five, top-three truck and I lost power steering about lap 35 and then here again we had another good truck and led laps and<br />
ran upfront but just couldn&#8217;t seem to seal the deal.  I&#8217;m very proud of everything that everybody&#8217;s got going on at Billy<br />
Ballew Motorsports.  </p>
<p>I&#8217;m very happy that Graceway Pharmaceuticals have come onboard and helped us get through the end<br />
of the year, but the Gods honest truth about next year, I have no clue.  Last year, two years ago, I probably would&#8217;ve felt<br />
like a little bit of an outcast and felt like the minority going to Homestead next week and not having any idea what I&#8217;m<br />
doing next year but for whatever the case may be whether it&#8217;s the economy, whether it&#8217;s just people not sure of what&#8217;s<br />
going on, I really feel like the majority.  It seems like half of the garage in all three series are really unsure on their 2010<br />
plans.  There&#8217;s a lot of uncertainty going into next year and I just seem to be a part of that.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>Were you not feeling well during tonight&#8217;s race at Phoenix?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I got the creeping crud.  It started a couple of days ago and my doctor has got me on all kinds of antibiotics and Prednisone<br />
and everything else to try to keep me alive so I could run this race.  Our Exide Tundra was awfully, awfully loose.  I don&#8217;t<br />
know what happened to the truck I had yesterday.  After the race, Eric (Phillips, crew chief) told me he freed it up this<br />
morning and didn&#8217;t tell me about it.  We need to communicate a little better on stuff like that.  Once he got it tightened back<br />
up, I wish I could have started the race like I ended the race because I think we probably could have gotten a few more<br />
spots.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Did being sick tonight make this a difficult race?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;Yeah, any time you&#8217;re sick, your focus is off and your reactions are off.  I was burning up hot one second and freezing cold<br />
the next.  My nose is running all down my mouth &#8211; it&#8217;s just not pretty when you&#8217;re sick.  That&#8217;s why drivers make more<br />
than mechanics because we have to be able to do that and we have to play hurt sometimes.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>MIKE BLISS, No. 25 Harris Trucking Toyota Tundra, HT Motorsports</p>
<p>Finishing Position: </strong> 7th</p>
<p><strong>How was your race?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;It was alright, it was kind of uneventful.  We took four (tires) at first and then we took two at the end.  We were kind of<br />
just sliding around at the end, but this place is always like that the last 50 laps.  It never goes that long.  We kind of counted<br />
on that.  It was a good run.  I&#8217;m really happy I got to run this Toyota Tundra and it was a good solid run for us.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>Are you disappointed with your finish tonight?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I am.  We keep working hard.  We didn&#8217;t have the best truck tonight.  Our Zachry Toyota Tundra was just okay.  We got it<br />
better towards that second practice yesterday.  Jason Miller, our crew chief, found something.  It just wasn&#8217;t where it needed<br />
to be.  We had some great pit stop strategy and with a lot of heart and hard work, we never gave up.  We came out with a<br />
decent finish.  Top-10s is a good thing, but we shoot for a lot better than that.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>What do you think about both HT Motorsports Tundras being in the top 10?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s a good thing.  That&#8217;s what we shoot for, we want both trucks in the top five and top 10.  It was good to see us both<br />
right there close to each other.  We just needed to be a little bit further up the pecking charts.  Not bad for a seventh and<br />
ninth but we&#8217;re definitely working harder to get closer to that number one spot.  With the way our truck was handling and<br />
everything we had to fight against, it was almost like a win for us.  You never get enough until you win these races, so we&#8217;ll<br />
just keep striving and working hard to do that and that&#8217;s what we&#8217;re going to keep doing.&#8221;</p>

The 21-year-old currently stands only 39 points out of the top-five in NCWTS points and needs a boost to propel him and his Xpress Motorsports team back into the upper echelon of the standings. Phoenix may be just the tonic the driver of the No. 16 Albertsons Toyota Tundra is looking for. Last year in this event Scott scored his first ever NCWTS top-five and was a factor throughout the race.</p>
<p>&#8220;Phoenix was an exciting race in 2008,&#8221; Scott said. &#8220;We ran up front battling for the top spot and we ran second for the longest time. It got interesting right at the start. I think Ron Hornaday Jr. and Kyle Busch got together coming off of turn four on the first lap and we narrowly missed that. Phoenix proved to be a big shakeup in the championship points standings because both Hornaday and Benson had their problems. We were able to run good and take advantage of other teams&#8217; misfortune. We ran up front and stayed out of the wrecks and ended up getting a top-five finish out of it. It was my first top-five in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and it was the first top-five I had with Jeff Hensley.&#8221;</p>
<p>For Hensley Scott&#8217;s performance was an eye opener. He quickly realized his young driver had talents theretofore unseen. It proved to be a catalyst for a 2009 season that has generated one win at Dover, 7 top-five finishes and 13 top-10 finishes in 23 starts.</p>
<p>&#8220;Phoenix last year was an important race for us,&#8221; Hensley said.  &#8220;It was pretty cool to go there and run as well as we did. We didn&#8217;t run that well in practice but we kept working at it and kept working at it and got the truck to where it was really good. We qualified well and in the race we ran second for a good portion of the race. We made one small adjustment and got too free and ended up fourth. That was our first top-five and it really started the momentum rolling for us. We ended up getting a second place finish at Homestead the next week and I think those two races at the end of 2008 helped set the stage for the success we have had in 2009.&#8221;</p>
<p>Certain types of venues suit certain types of drivers and that is certainly the case for Scott. Phoenix is a type of track that has produced good results for Boise, ID native.</p>
<p><div class="imagecaptioneasy imagecaptioneasy_ght size-medium wp-image-16277" style="auto;"><a href="http://www.catchfence.com/2009/truckseries/06/21/brian-scott-takes-home-third-at-the-milwaukee-mile/attachment/brian-scott/" rel="attachment wp-att-16277"><img src="http://www.catchfence.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/brian-scott-149x210.jpg" alt="Brian Scott" title="Brian Scott" width="149" height="210" class="alignright size-medium wp-image-16277" /></a><br style="clear:both" /><div style="margin:0px;max-width:149px;">Brian Scott</div></div>&#8220;It seems like virtually any flat track works really well for me,&#8221; Scott noted. &#8220;Whether it is Kansas or Kentucky, both one and a half mile tracks but relatively flat, or the flat one mile tracks like Gateway, Loudon or Phoenix &#8212; for some reason they just seem to fit my driving style. Phoenix is a great track, a really good flat competitive short track. One of the biggest challenges Phoenix presents is track position. You can definitely pass there but it is not necessarily a track where you can go all the way from the back to the front on a regular basis so it is going to be important to qualify up front, stay up front and have good pit strategy. Fuel mileage and tire management come into play so you have to have the right game plan there. Like any short track you have to stay out of trouble, and not be a victim or get caught up in something of your own doing. I am excited to go back to Phoenix knowing that we ran there so well last year and I am looking forward to both of these last two events because we run well at both places and we should have pretty good trucks for both events.&#8221;</p>
<p>Phoenix actually suits Hensley well as well. The NASCAR veteran from Horsepasture, VA is competent and comfortable on the one mile tri-oval race track located in Avondale, Arizona. </p>
<p>&#8220;I like Phoenix because it has always been a good track for me personally,&#8221; Hensley adds. &#8220;I have never won there but we always seem to run well there. You have to be able to get the truck to turn well and be able to get back in the gas and keep your momentum up. Phoenix changes a whole lot from the conditions during the day to the conditions at nighttime. We practice during the day and we race at night. You have to know what to do to the truck to adjust for the huge swings in track conditions between the two scenarios. You have to know where you need to be chassis wise so that you can run well at night.&#8221;</p>
<p>The Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway is slated for Friday November 13th and will be telecast live on SPEED at 8:00pm ET. It will also be broadcast live via radio worldwide on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and on SIRIUS Satellite Radio NASCAR channel 128.</p>
<p><strong>Chassis for Phoenix International Raceway:</strong> Xpress Motorsports will bring chassis number 134 to the Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway. This Triad Racing Technologies chassis finished third at Milwaukee earlier in the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season.</p>

Scott took advantage of a very strong No. 16 Albertsons Toyota Tundra and drove his way from his 15th starting position all the way up to the fourth spot heading into the last round of pit stops. Scott looked to be ready to race for the win until a lap 91 altercation with a lapped truck on pit road cost the Idaho native eight positions and eliminated any chance for a top-five finish. Scott and his Xpress Motorsports teammates maintained their spot in the NCWTS points chase now standing in the sixth position only 39 points out of the top-five.</p>
<p>&#8220;We had a really good Albertsons Toyota Tundra all night,&#8221; Scott said in the garage area after the event.&#8221; I had to fight for track position at the drop of the green. We didn&#8217;t have a perfect truck at the very start of the race. My crew chief Jeff Hensley and everybody on the Xpress Motorsports crew made all the right adjustments and in that next run, man we were hauling. We were fast. After we got tires the next caution after that, we were flying. I think we were fast as any truck out there. We drove out to fourth. We had a great four tire pit stop. Came back in and pulled out of the pits after our gas stop and a lapped down truck pinned us in the pits and we gave away all the track position. It is disappointing because we had such a good truck and I think we might have had something there for them at the end.&#8221;</p>
<p>Scott qualified his Albertsons Toyota Tundra in the 15th starting position touring Texas Motor Speedway&#8217;s 1.5 mile oval in 30.613 seconds which translates into a speed of 176.396 mph. When the event&#8217;s first caution flag fell on lap 17, Scott came down pit road for fuel only and exited pit road in the 8th position. Scott maintained his standing in the top 10 over the next 40 laps. He pitted under caution for fresh Goodyear tires on lap 57 and for additional Sunoco fuel and a series of chassis adjustments on lap 58, that placed him 11th on the ensuing restart. At that point Scott&#8217;s Toyota came to life and he quickly picked his way through the pack moving into the top 10 within a few laps and then all the way to the top-five by lap 75. </p>
<p>He moved into fourth with a pass on Mike Skinner on lap 78 and was closing on third when the race&#8217;s last caution flag fell on lap 88 for Mario Gosselin&#8217;s spin off of turn four. Scott once again ducked down pit road for tires on lap 90 and for fuel on lap 91. As he exited his pit after the fuel stop Scott nearly collided with the lapped truck driven by Tim Andrews who was just reaching pit road. Scott was pinned behind Andrews and the delay cost him at least eight positions exiting pit road, that placed him 11th on the final restart. Over the last green flag run Scott picked off four positions but was unable to make up the lost track position and finished in the 7th spot. It was Scott&#8217;s 13th top-10 finish of the 2009 NCWTS season.</p>
<p>&#8220;We had a legitimate shot to win this race,&#8221; Hensley said to his crew after the race. &#8220;Brian drove a heck of a race and our Toyota Tundra was really fast, especially after we were able to get in cleaner air. The guys on this Xpress Motorsports team did a whale of a job on pit road and put us in position to capitalize. Unfortunately that deal on pit road with the No. 36 truck really hurt us.&#8221;</p>

We had a great run there last year and if we can continue to get good trucks then we can make some noise over the last two weeks of the season.&#8221;</p>
<p>Kyle Busch won the Winstar World Casino 350 at Texas Motor Speedway. It was Busch&#8217;s fifth consecutive NCWTS win in races he has entered in the Billy Ballew Motorsports No. 51. Busch was joined in the top-five by Matt Crafton, Ron Hornaday Jr., Todd Bodine and Colin Braun. The next race for the NCWTS is the Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway. The event is slated for Friday November 13th and will be telecast live on SPEED at 8:00pm ET. <p>- Kyle Busch won Friday night&#8217;s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race at Texas Motor Speedway.<br />

<p>- This win was Busch&#8217;s fifth consecutive win in as many starts behind the wheel of the Billy Ballew Motorsports No.<br />
51 Miccosukee Resort Tundra, and his 10th triumph in a Tundra  over the past two seasons.</p>
<p>- It was the 14th win for a Tundra driver this year &#8212; the most NCWTS wins for Toyota in the series in a single season.<br />
Todd Bodine (fourth), Brian Scott (seventh), Mike Skinner (eighth) and Texas-native David Starr (ninth) also had<br />

<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s cool man.  What a Tundra tonight, man.   This Miccosukee / Graceway Pharmaceuticals Tundra was awesome and<br />
Richie (Wauters, crew chief) and these guys have really done their homework lately.  It&#8217;s an accomplishment to beat the 33<br />
(Ron Hornaday, Jr.) bunch here, that&#8217;s for sure.  We got it done today.  You know, it was a lot of fun.  The 88 (Matt<br />
Crafton) &#8212; man, I hate seeing the 88 finish second.  I really wish he could get a win.  I thank the fans for coming out<br />
tonight.  It was a great race.  Thank NOS Energy Drink and all these guys on this pit crew &#8212; Billy Ballew Motorsports.  I&#8217;m<br />
pretty proud accomplishment to be here &#8212; five in a row.  That&#8217;s pretty sweet.  Undefeated back with Richie (Wauters, crew<br />

<p><strong>What are your chances of winning all three races this weekend?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I hope I didn&#8217;t screw it up for tomorrow.  I&#8217;ve never won here in a truck, but I won the Nationwide races here in the past<br />
three times.  So, looking to try to get the Nationwide win tomorrow.  Dave (Rogers, crew chief) and all the guys on the<br />
M&#038;M&#8217;s Camry will be working hard tomorrow during &#8216;Happy Hour.&#8217;  Try to get us something capable enough of running<br />
up front on Sunday.  We&#8217;ll see what we can get.  It would be pretty awesome to get them all three done here at Texas.  I<br />
wanted to win a truck race here for a long time &#8212; so this is pretty cool.  As soon as I get a Cup win &#8212; another one we can<br />
notch off the list.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Did you have it when you needed it at the end?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;Yeah, we did.  We made some good changes on this Miccousukee Tundra today and really brought the thing to life.  I&#8217;m<br />
really proud of Richie (Wauters, crew chief) and all these guys.  This is an awesome race truck.  This is the same one<br />
(truck) we won with at Chicago.  We&#8217;ve got a match to number 11 (chassis).  This is (number) 32 here, 11 was always our<br />
chassis that kicked butt, so now we found another one.  All these guys, they do a great job.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Are your trucks good every time you come to the track?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;For sure.  You know, I really look forward to working with these guys and Richie (Wauters, crew chief) and everybody<br />
that works so hard on this truck.  We&#8217;ve got a lot of guys that probably don&#8217;t make a whole lot of money, but they dig in<br />
real deep and they don&#8217;t quit.  They don&#8217;t go home at five &#8211; they stay late.  That&#8217;s what it takes in this sport.  The dedication<br />
and the people to make it happen.  These guys here, they&#8217;ve been dedicated.  They really work their butts off &#8212; it&#8217;s starting<br />
to prevail for them.  We&#8217;ve got five in a row now with myself and it&#8217;s a total of seven wins for Billy (Ballew, team owner).&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Did you run the truck pretty hard at the end and wear down the right front tire?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;Yeah, I did.  I was trying to stay away from the 88 (Matt Crafton) catching me &#8212; I was trying to stay away from him.  He<br />
was running me down.  He had a great truck.  I hat seeing Matt (Crafton) finish second.  He needs a win in this deal and<br />
especially to me.  We&#8217;re pretty good friends.  I wish I could pull over and give it to him, but that wouldn&#8217;t be racing.  Again,<br />
I had to run hard and I ended up pushing the right front tire off for a little bit too much, probably.  It lasted just enough,<br />
man.  Those lapped trucks that I had to get by in the last 10, 12, 15 laps, whatever it was &#8211; really hurt our performance of<br />
the truck and so we were fairly able to hold off the 88 (Matt Crafton) &#8211; which is cool.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Are the Toyotas getting better gas mileage than the other trucks?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;Chevrolet and Ford lobbied for Toyota to get a smaller plate and it helped our fuel mileage.  So, thanks guys.  That&#8217;s all<br />
the difference right there.  Those guys have a bigger spacer-plate, we have tapered spacers and they have a bigger one so it<br />
allows more air to pass through.  When you allow more air to pass through, it takes more fuel to keep the engine running<br />
right.  Those guys have worse fuel mileage than we do.  The Toyota Tundras though, the guys in the engine shop at Triad,<br />
they&#8217;ve been working real hard to get us more horsepower and at the same time use less fuel to get better fuel mileage.<br />
Every engine builder does that, but our guys have made some gains this year in that area.  All you can do is get it from the<br />
crew chief.  If you&#8217;re short, you may have to conserve, but if you&#8217;re good to go, then you just go.  The Toyotas seem to get<br />
about &#8212; in a full fuel run &#8212; we seem to get three to five laps more than those guys.  It&#8217;s not significant, but it&#8217;s enough<br />
where sometimes it can make the difference.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;When we started out tonight, we weren&#8217;t the best truck out there.  We had problems, we were a little bit tight and a little bit<br />
free at the same time.  We made a few adjustments and it helped it.  The last stop we made another adjustment and it was<br />
the best the truck was all night.  Of course, with Kyle (Busch) driving, he&#8217;s worth something there, too.  We&#8217;ve been<br />
working hard and the Toyota Tundra was the best it was all night long at the end.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;It was a good run.  We were free in practice and we thought we had adjusted it and got it better.  It was just too free all<br />
through the race.  We kept adjusting it until it was as good as it was going to get.  Our Copart Tundra was just too free.  I got<br />
behind Ron (Hornaday, Jr) and  started racing him and got aero-tight and chassis-loose and it was a handful to hang onto.  To<br />
come home fourth, it&#8217;s not a win.  It&#8217;s not a third or second, it&#8217;s a little disappointing.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Are you disappointed with this finish?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;We were just too free.  The way the rules package is, these Tundras they keep them from running with the other guys so we<br />
have to trim them out and really be free.  We stepped over the edge and had it too free.  Kyle (Busch) again hit it right on the<br />
money to get it right on without it being loose.  It was still a good run.  The Copart Tundra was fast.  I&#8217;m disappointed, we<br />
wanted to get another win at Texas, but fourth is good.  The way the middle part of the season was going, I think it we had<br />
five or six top-10s in a row, so I think we&#8217;re back in form.  We&#8217;re doing things right.  It&#8217;s about all you can do.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;We had a really good Albertsons Toyota Tundra all night.  I had to fight track position at the drop of the green &#8212; didn&#8217;t<br />
have a perfect truck.  Jeff Hensley (crew chief) and everybody on the Xpress crew, they made the right adjustments and in<br />
the second run, man we were hauling.  We were fast.  I think, actually it wasn&#8217;t the second run because the first pit stop we<br />
took gas only.  After we got tires the next caution after that, we were flying.  I think we were fast as any truck out there.  We<br />
drove out to fourth.  We had a great four tire pit stop.  Came back in and pulled out of the gas and a lapped down truck<br />
pinned us in the pits and we gave away all the track position.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;It was another top-10.  Our Zachry Toyota Tundra was pretty awesome tonight.  The team did a great job because our truck<br />
wasn&#8217;t very good at the start of the race.  We fought a lot of issues until about three-quarters of the way through the race.<br />
Jason Miller, the crew chief, and all the guys on our Zachry team did an excellent job.  They finally got it fixed and we<br />
came alive right there at the end.  It was a little too late, but we were battling trying to catch up.  </p>
<p>We needed another caution to put us in the show.  From what we started with to how it ended up, we&#8217;re pretty proud and that says a lot about this racing team.  It takes the force that we never give up and when our back is up against the wall, we just keep digging.  It was pretty good.  Not what we wanted, but a top -10 finish and we&#8217;ll hold up our head high and leave knowing we gave it everything we got.  We just got beat by better trucks tonight and we&#8217;ll go win at Phoenix next week.&#8221;</p>

Scott is looking to climb back into the top five in NCWTS points after falling victim to a multi-truck crash not of his making at Talladega.</p>
<p>“We’ve just been snakebit these last few weeks,” Scott says. “No matter what we do it hasn’t worked in our favor. Whatever we need to do to change our luck I am willing to do. Voodoo, witchcraft, wizardry whatever it takes.”</p>
<p>Scott has had an impressive season with a win at Dover, second place finishes at Memphis and Nashville, 7 top-five finishes and 12 top-10 finishes in 22 starts. A solid run or perhaps a win in the Lone Star state would add some icing on the cake and help the 21-year-old Boise, ID native gain back some off those much needed points.</p>

It is a very fast racetrack, one of the fastest mile and half racetracks we go to. It has a couple of grooves of racing and it always provides a really exciting truck race there because of all the room you have to race. The outside groove will be critical once again, you can keep your momentum up and not get bogged down. You can manipulate the person on the inside of you by taking the right side air off. It is a better position to be in. That suits my style, I like the outside line. Hopefully we can take advantage of that.” </p>
<p>Scott’s crew chief Jeff Hensley has an impressive record at Texas Motor Speedway but it has been close but no cigar for the Horsepasture, VA native. He has yet to capture that elusive win on the 1.5 mile oval.</p>
<p>“I like Texas Motor Speedway a lot,” Hensley said. “It is a very challenging track with really fast corner speeds. I have never won there, I’ve finished second there four times and I have always wanted that cowboy hat.  I have never finished out of the top 10 there but one time. We were fortunate enough to have won the pole there four or five times there in the past. It is by far my favorite race track. I love that place. Brian has done a really good job there both times I have been there with him so I like our chances this weekend.”</p>
<p>The Winstar World Casino 350 at Texas Motor Speedway is slated for Friday November 6th at 9:00pm ET and will be telecast live nationally on SPEED. It will also be broadcast live via radio worldwide on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and on SIRIUS Satellite Radio NASCAR channel 128.</p>
<p><strong>Chassis for Texas Motor Speedway:</strong> Xpress Motorsports will bring chassis number 52 to the Winstar World Casino 350 at Texas Motor Speedway. This Triad Racing Technologies chassis finished second at Homestead in the 2008 season finale with Scott at the helm and finished third at Kansas earlier this season. It was run at Kentucky Speedway where Scott qualified second, led for 29 laps before blowing a right front tire and crashing hard into the outside retaining wall. Despite the heavy damage Scott rallied to finish 6th in that event. Its most recent voyage came at Chicagoland Speedway where it found hard contact with the turn four wall. The chassis was subject to extensive repairs before being prepared for Texas Motor Speedway.</p>

Unfortunately for Scott and his No. 16 Albertsons Toyota Tundra/Xpress Motorsports team, a late race lap 90 melee on the backstretch involving 11 trucks ended his chance for the win and relegated him to the 23rd finishing position. The crash did more than damage his Toyota Tundra – it also knocked Scott out of the top-five in the NCWTS points chase, and he now sits in the 6th position, 30 points out of fifth.</p>
<p><div class="imagecaptioneasy imagecaptioneasy_ght size-full wp-image-16277" style="auto;"><a href="http://www.catchfence.com/2009/truckseries/06/21/brian-scott-takes-home-third-at-the-milwaukee-mile/attachment/brian-scott/" rel="attachment wp-att-16277"><img src="http://www.catchfence.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/brian-scott.jpg" alt="Brian Scott" title="Brian Scott" width="249" height="349" class="alignright size-full wp-image-16277" /></a><br style="clear:both" /><div style="margin:0px;max-width:249px;">Brian Scott</div></div>Scott made a strong charge from his 18th starting position during the early laps, deftly picking his way patiently through heavy race traffic and working the draft to perfection. He moved into the top 10 by lap 25 and into the fifth spot by lap 29. Scott teamed with eventual race winner Kyle Busch and Aric Almirola to carve his way to the front of the pack in a tight draft and stormed to the lead coming to the start finish line on lap 44. Scott held the lead for several laps and then eventually settled into the second position behind Almirola for the next 12 circuits around Talladega’s 2.66 mile tri-oval. When the caution flag fell on lap 65 for an incident involving Colin Braun and Tayler Malsam, Scott darted down pit road on lap 66 for 2 left side tires and then again for fuel on lap 67. </p>
<p>NASCAR accessed a pit road speeding penalty on Scott for exiting pit road too quickly and he was forced to restart at the tail end of the longest line. Scott worked his way back to the top 10 and was just starting his final push when Mike Skinner and Johnny Sauter collided on lap 90 creating an 11 truck pile up on the backstretch. Scott radioed his Xpress Motorsports crew with the bad news, “Were done guys, really, really done.”  Scott’s No. 16 Albertsons Toyota Tundra was too heavily damaged to continue and he was credited with a 23rd place finish.</p>
<p>Billy Ballew Motorsports teammates Kyle Busch and Aric Almirola finished one-two in the Mountain Dew 250 at Talladega Superspeedway. Todd Bodine, Terry Cook and David Starr rounded out the top-five.  The next stop for the NCWTS competitors is the Lone Star 250K at Texas Motor Speedway. The event is slated for Friday November 6th at 9:00 ET and will be televised nationally by SPEED.</p>

<p><strong>Talladega Superspeedway &#8211; October 31, 2009</strong></p>
<p>- Kyle Busch was victorious in Saturday&#8217;s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race at Talladega Superspeedway.  Busch led 10 of 98 laps at the 2.66-mile Alabama oval en route to victory lane.</p>
<p>- The win enabled Toyota to clinch its fourth consecutive NCWTS manufacturer&#8217;s title (2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009).</p>
<p>- Aric Almirola (second), Todd Bodine (third), Terry Cook (fourth) and David Starr (fifth) also recorded top-five results in Tundras, the first time since April 2006 (St. Louis) that Toyota has swept the top-five positions in an NCWTS event.</p>
<p>- Tundra drivers Stacy Compton (seventh), Timothy Peters (11th), Mike Skinner (19th), Max Papis (22nd), Brian Scott (23rd), Tayler Malsam (27th) and T.J. Bell (29th) were also in the field.</p>
<p>- Five Tundra drivers are among the top-10 in the unofficial NCWTS point standings &#8212; Skinner (third), Bodine (fourth), Scott (sixth), Peters (seventh) and Starr (ninth) &#8211; with three races remaining in the 2009 season.</p>

<p><strong>Finishing Position: </strong>1st</p>
<p><strong>How did the final lap of the race feel?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;That just happened &#8211; unbelievable.  I owe everything to Aric Almirola today.  Sticking with me from that last pit stop to the end, I told him if he just stayed with me they wouldn&#8217;t be able to beat the 15 (Almirola) and 51 (Busch).  Awesome job to Aric (Almirola), he can take my half of the pay after today.  I don&#8217;t get paid anything.  I don&#8217;t know what Billy Ballew will work out with him.  What an awesome truck &#8211; this Miccosukee Tundra was great today.</p>
<p>The guys did an awesome job building it. You can only go as fast as what it&#8217;s built from the shop so obviously a lot of work went into this thing.  Toyota clinched the manufacturer&#8217;s championship &#8211; that&#8217;s awesome.  Thank NOS Energy Drink, thank the fans &#8211; it was a lot of fun today.  There was a few moments that maybe got a hairy and a little sketchy, but overall it worked out in the end for us so that&#8217;s awesome.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>What were you able to say to Aric Almirola in the closing laps of the race?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I need a more private channel so not everybody hears it.  Basically, I had to tell him just the ways that I&#8217;ve been here in the past.  Last year I got beat.  The first year I was horrible.  We won&#8217;t go there, I think I was eighth or ninth, made a lot of mistakes.  Last year I saved a lot of that till the end of the race and didn&#8217;t quite get in the position that I needed to be in. Today, I had Aric (Almirola) behind me who really helped me and being able to just talk through him and telling him what to do &#8211; if we just stayed together.  The biggest patience in this race, I know it was 94 laps today, but there was 93 laps of patience and a one lap free for all that wins this thing.  Aric (Almirola) did an awesome job.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Were you worried that you were making your final move too late?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;No because I wasn&#8217;t yet to the 30 (Todd Bodine) &#8211; I wasn&#8217;t sure of what direction I needed to go, I wasn&#8217;t sure if he was going to block.  I sort of started up high slow to see if he would.  Aric (Almirola) was bumping me there so I didn&#8217;t want to be too jerky on the wheel and spin myself out on his truck.  I just pulled up nice and smooth and Todd (Bodine) held his line and we just went around the outside of him.  I was kind of surprised by that, but I guess he learned from my own mistake at Daytona, when you try to move up in front of a train that&#8217;s coming &#8211; you&#8217;re going to wreck.  We&#8217;ve seen that the last few times here, Carl (Edwards) tried to do the same thing with the 09 (Brad Keselowski) or whatever.  I guess when you&#8217;re the leader coming down towards the stretch you&#8217;re better off to just hold your line and take what you&#8217;re going to get.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>How much did bump drafting play a role in today&#8217;s race?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;It definitely played a role because you never know how close you are to NASCAR&#8217;s line of going over of being too aggressive.  Earlier in the race the 30 (Todd Bodine) and the 25 (Terry Cook) were teamed up pushing each other down the backstretch and the 25 (Cook) got crossed up getting into turn three and they gave him a warning.  Then five laps later, he&#8217;s doing it again &#8211; all the way down the backstretch.  You can bump draft is fine, apparently, but push drafting is what the problem is.  I don&#8217;t know if there needs to be a new term laid out there, but I think I just did it.  The push draft is the problem and that happened a couple times today.</p>
<p>I never did it &#8211; I was bump drafting the five (Mike Skinner) when we were getting up towards the front.  I would always bump him, get off him, bump him, get off him &#8211; it would help the row along, but it wasn&#8217;t like two trucks get teamed up together and just push draft all the way around the track.  I don&#8217;t know where that line is.  I don&#8217;t know &#8211; you warn a guy once and he does it again and you don&#8217;t post him or don&#8217;t do anything about it then what&#8217;s the penalty.  Apparently everybody was supposed to be warned in the driver&#8217;s meeting, but I guess you can still get warnings out on the race track.  It&#8217;s a hard situation to understand, but Aric (Almirola) and I, we saved it for the last lap, from turn four on to the start-finish.  I think we played it out nicely.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>What would you like to see NASCAR do about &#8216;push-drafting?&#8217;</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;What I would like to see is if NASCAR issues the warning in the driver&#8217;s meeting tomorrow then that&#8217;s your warning.  If you do it and cross their line, their aggressive driving line they&#8217;ve got, if you go over that then I would like to see a drive through penalty &#8211; you get posted, black-flagged, drive through penalty.  Then you have to come down and do your penalty.  How long can you push a guy?  On the Cup side, Denny (Hamlin) has actually been practicing that in practice the past few years here. His time is two laps &#8211; he can push a guy for two complete, full laps and then he starts to get about 250 degrees on water temp, which is about too high.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>What is the difference between a &#8216;bump-draft&#8217; and a &#8216;push-draft?&#8217;</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;You don&#8217;t really want to push or bump draft through the corners, that&#8217;s the thing.  Here you can get away with doing it because there&#8217;s so much grip.  The push draft, when you get up on a guy and just start pushing him and you start picking his speed up, you actually start lifting him up off the race track and the back of the truck is just sort of sliding around.  It&#8217;s like a wheel barrel, you&#8217;re just up on the front two tires like you&#8217;re just steering it like that. The bump draft, if it&#8217;s gentle enough, if you&#8217;re not Juan Pablo Montoya and just plow a guy and if you just bump a guy, you can keep that row going.  It&#8217;s just little bumps, it doesn&#8217;t lift your tires off the ground, it doesn&#8217;t do anything and it gives that guy a sense.  When you bump them straight on, he might have to move the wheel a little bit, but he&#8217;s not chasing the back of his truck all around when he&#8217;s getting a push draft.  He just gets a bump, figures it out and he&#8217;s back on the ground.  It happens quick enough where everything settles out.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>How was your race today?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;It was a good race, it was fun.  We had a good truck.  I&#8217;m real proud of Doug George (crew chief) and all the guys on this team.  Everybody at Billy Ballew Motorsports did a great job and worked really hard.  We had two awesome speedway trucks and it showed today.  There were not very many people that could hang with us (Kyle Busch) when we got together and we proved that a couple times throughout the race.  We tried not to show our cards too much in the beginning.  It paid off and it was a one-two finish for Billy Ballew &#8211; I just wanted to be one bad.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>What did it mean when Kyle Busch drove down pit road to thank you?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;It meant the world.  As hard as it is to win these races, he&#8217;s won a lot of them and he knows that it was a team effort today. Congratulations to Billy Ballew in his 300th start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and he got a one-two finish so that&#8217;s pretty awesome for him.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Was bump drafting getting out of hand for a truck race?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;In the beginning of the race, Todd (Bodine) was behind me and I was behind the six (Colin Braun) and I never touched the six, Todd (Bodine) never touched me and we were just cruising around, just riding.  I was riding seriously half to three- quarters throttle just to make sure that I didn&#8217;t run into the back of the six (Braun).  30 laps into the race, all of the sudden I was getting slammed from the back.  It was for no reason really, we weren&#8217;t going anywhere. The guy in front of me wasn&#8217;t going to go any faster from me slamming into him.  A couple times I actually burned the brakes up, the brakes went all the way to the floor board just to keep from running over the people in front of me.  If we knocked our grill and our duct work in, then we had to come in to take tape off then we surely weren&#8217;t going to have a shot to win.  I think people were really aggressive and didn&#8217;t need to be.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>Are you disappointed with a third-place finish?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;We got used to winning for sure.  We made the right move &#8211; we had a great truck and made the right move at the end and got the lead.  We just didn&#8217;t have a teammate.  Kyle (Busch) had his teammate right behind him.  I could have blocked him coming to the checkers, but I didn&#8217;t want to be like Carl Edwards and end up in the catch fence.  With Kyle (Busch), that&#8217;s what would have happened &#8211; he&#8217;s a racer and you can&#8217;t blame him for that.  It was a great day for Billy Ballew Motorsports with a one-two finish.  Our Germain Copart Tundra was fast, it was again the best truck and it drove fantastic.  We just ended up third.  There&#8217;s nothing you can do but be happy with it and we had a good day.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Was bump drafting getting out of hand for a truck race?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;This is my one chance to speak so I&#8217;m going to speak a little bit here.  They need to do something with the Cup cars, the Nationwide cars and the trucks with the bump drafting &#8211; everybody knows it, everybody said it.  It&#8217;s getting out of control with the Cup cars with guys hitting each other in the corners, spinning each other out.  It&#8217;s a simple solution &#8211; brace the back bumpers up as hard as you can brace them.  You ought to see the back bumper in my truck &#8211; it&#8217;s like a Mack Truck bumper. The next thing you do is you take the bumper out of the front so if you hit somebody, you hit them with fiberglass.  I&#8217;m not going to hit somebody with fiberglass and mess my aerodynamics up so what&#8217;s that do?  It stops everybody from bump drafting, it&#8217;s a simple solution.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>What happened to your truck early in the race?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;We were losing horsepower so we had to come in and work on it and every we were taping the air box and got it double- nutted so then we were able to fix that.  Then we blew up the transmission with about 14 laps to go and it was spitting rear end grease out, smoking inside the truck.  We had just about everything go wrong that you could and still come out with a top-five finish.  This is a big day for Harris Trucking  &#8212; to have two trucks in the top-five &#8211; that&#8217;s a big weekend.  I wish I wouldn&#8217;t have had to come from the back because we had a horse.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;We were trying to do the right thing, I was thinking of which way I should go and who I should go with.  Going from second to fifth is a little disappointing, but a top-five for HT Motorsports and Terry Cook did a heck of a job.  I should have jumped up to the high side, but you second-guess yourself and if I would have jumped up to the high side then they would have gone to the bottom.  Then I would have finished a little further back.  It was a great race &#8211; our Zachery Toyota Tundra was awesome.  All the guys did a heck of a job and I can&#8217;t thank them enough.&#8221;</p>

<p>Starting Position:</strong>  2nd</p>
<p><strong>How was your qualifying lap?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re very pleased with the Harris Trucking / Cajun Industries Toyota Tundra.  It was good.  On the chassis dyno and the wind<br />
tunnel, if they tell you anything, they tell you you&#8217;ve got a pretty truck.  We spent a lot of time with this truck, rubbing on it and<br />
made sure that it not only qualified good, but really, ultimately raced well.  So far, the qualifying part is coming true and<br />
hopefully it will race well tomorrow.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>What do you think of the rule changes announced for 2010?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;Thank you.  That is it, thank you.  It&#8217;s been a long time coming.  The rule changes, I think NASCAR did a great job in making sure<br />
the teams could feasibly get through the season so I applaud them for that.  The pit stop rules that we had where you fuel one time<br />
and then tires on the next, I think it just confused everybody, confused the drivers.  I think we opened ourselves up to getting<br />
somebody hurt, whether it be a track worker on the track or crew members on pit road.  Going back to the format and now we have<br />
figured out a way to where it&#8217;s going to be six people over the wall so that saves us the cost of one person, instead of the Cup or<br />
Nationwide that have seven, so that&#8217;s going to help a bunch.  </p>
<p>The new engine rule where we have to run a sealed motor every two races instead of every three is going to help a bunch.  Really excited about the outlook of the Truck Series going forward and as you mentioned, having been here for as many starts as I&#8217;ve had, I&#8217;ve seen the Truck Series go through a lot of changes and I applaud NASCAR for making this change.  </p>
<p>The double-file restarts, I first saw that in Phoenix in the Camping World West Series back in April and I thought it was just great side-by-side racing.  I was excited when it got introduced into the Nationwide and Cup series, but was disappointed that they didn&#8217;t do it in the Truck Series around Indianapolis race weekend.  Knowing that going forward we&#8217;re going to have double-file restarts, I&#8217;m excited about that as well.  I applaud all their changes.  Personally, I think it was a little overdue, I was looking for all these changes about mid-season this year, but glad to see they are taking the initiative to where we<br />
will have them next year.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>MAX PAPIS, No. 13 GEICO Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing</p>
<p>Starting Position: </strong> 3rd</p>
<p><strong>How much are you looking forward to tomorrow&#8217;s race with such a good qualifying run?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;The GEICO Toyota was just great &#8212; it drove by itself.  We did a lot of work to make it a little faster and the guys in the shop,<br />
they&#8217;re just amazing.  It&#8217;s as much of a team effort as it can be.  When you come to a place like this I think you need to maximize<br />
the length of the bolt in the truck.  I guess they did it all and it&#8217;s proven to work.  It might have been facilitated a bit by starting in<br />
the back, but you need to put up the number and we did it so we&#8217;re happy.  This is a big thing for me, especially since it&#8217;s the second<br />
time for me at Talladega.  Just let me enjoy what it means to be in the top-five because it&#8217;s just huge.  I know it&#8217;s only qualifying,<br />
but I just like to enjoy every second of it.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>ARIC ALMIROLA, No. 15 Graceway Pharmaceuticals/AKawareness.com Toyota Tundra, Billy Ballew Motorsports</p>

<p><strong>Are you happy with your qualifying lap?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m really pleased with that.  We go to these restrictor plate races all the time and we watch the 30 (Todd Bodine), as far as<br />
Toyotas go, outrun us.  He&#8217;s won the last four of them.  I think that&#8217;s pretty good for us, let alone just to be able to outrun him in<br />
qualifying.  Qualifying doesn&#8217;t mean a whole lot here.  We practiced real well, we got a good race truck, so I&#8217;m excited for<br />
tomorrow.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>TODD BODINE, No. 30 Copart Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing</p>
<p>Starting Position: </strong> 6th</p>
<p><strong>How was your qualifying effort?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I got a lot of excuses.  I had a headwind down the front straightaway, and a flock of geese flew in front of me in front of the back<br />
and messed the air all up and slowed me way down.  It&#8217;s Talladega.  It doesn&#8217;t matter where you start.  It&#8217;s how good your truck<br />
drives, how good it drives in the draft.  This truck has won the last four speedway races and it drives awesome.  We actually even<br />
made it a little better this morning with a couple things.  I think the Copart Tundra is going to be just fine.  It&#8217;s great to have the<br />
pole, but that doesn&#8217;t get the big check and the big trophy.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Does your starting position at Talladega affect your strategy?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;If you&#8217;re way back, yeah, you have to look at it a little differently.  I don&#8217;t even know what I ran, but we&#8217;ll be close to 10th or<br />
something and that&#8217;s close enough to the front.  Just find a hole and just wait around for the end and see what you got.  Make some<br />
adjustments and go from there.  I&#8217;ve started like 28th here before and 10 laps was leading.  If you do the right things in the draft and<br />
you make the right moves, it&#8217;s not a big deal.  I&#8217;m not really worried about it.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>TAYLER MALSAM, No. 81 One Eighty Toyota Tundra, Randy Moss Motorsports</p>
<p>Starting Position: </strong> 8th</p>
<p><strong>How was your truck in practice?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;It was awesome.  This Randy Moss team did an awesome job giving me a good truck.  Same one as we brought to Daytona and<br />
we had a lot of fun with it.  It should be a good race.  Drafting here is so much different than Daytona.  It&#8217;s so much more smooth<br />
and it&#8217;s a lot more fun, that&#8217;s for sure.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>How much fun is it to learn drafting techniques from the veterans?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I like it a lot, especially following Mike (Skinner) or (Ron) Hornaday and those guys, because I can follow them up through the<br />
track and see where their lines go and how they like to run.  It&#8217;s a lot of fun and I&#8217;m very fortunate to have Mike (Skinner) as a<br />
teammate, especially if we qualify near each other today.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>How was your truck in qualifying?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s the first qualifying run that we&#8217;ve done and our PC Miler Navigator Toyota Tundra is driving very, very good today.  I think<br />
it&#8217;ll race pretty good.  I don&#8217;t think we&#8217;re the cream of the crop, by any means, but if we catch the right draft there towards the end, I think we can finish well.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>How sensitive are the trucks to who you&#8217;re drafting with?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s not so much how sensitive the trucks are, it&#8217;s how you react to what the drivers are gonna do.  We were talking about that<br />
earlier.  Over in the Cup (Series) side, you&#8217;re drafting with certain people and you say, &#8216;He&#8217;s gonna do one of three or four things.&#8217;<br />
You can kind of narrow it down.  There&#8217;s been a couple of them I was riding around out there with today, there might be 10<br />
different things, or eight different things.  I&#8217;m like, &#8216;Wow, why did he do that?&#8217;  It&#8217;s just the experience level with those guys over<br />
there.  They&#8217;re a little bit more seasoned as far as drafting goes.  You gotta be a little bit aware.  You can&#8217;t take it for granted, what<br />
the guy in front of your or beside you is gonna do over here.&#8221;</p>

Scott made his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Talladega start just one year ago, led the pack on several occasions and had a legitimate shot at capturing the checkered flag with a spirited charge to the finish line. Unfortunately his bid for the win was halted by a block from a fellow competitor and he fell back to the 7th position. Heading into this Saturday’s Mountain Dew 250 at Talladega Superspeedway, Scott is looking to improve on last year’s performance in his No. 16 Albertsons Toyota Tundra and add his name to the impressive list of drivers who have graced Talladega’s Victory Lane. </p>
<p>“We have been in position to win on these superspeedways before,” Scott said. “Talladega would be a great place to finally make that happen. It has a lot of tradition and history.  Really racing at Talladega is about good timing.  You have to time your charge just right, get in the right draft and be in front when it counts most. Talladega is a place that has treated me very well. You have to stay on your toes and be on your game the whole time. It is notorious for having things happen quickly and collecting a good portion of the field in one swift incident. In order to get a good finish you need to be there at the end. You need to have a truck that can get to the front and draft well but you also having parts of the race where you just want to ride where you are in line, survive and make a charge when the time comes.” </p>
<p>Survival is certainly a key element to a good finish at both superspeedways on the NCWTS circuit. Due to the engine plate restrictions, trucks are very equal in horsepower and top speed. Those conditions create tight fender to fender action. With the competitors being in such close proximity to each other, dodging an incident as it is unfolding in front of the driver can be very challenging.  The tiniest miscue can lead to one of the large multi-truck accidents that have come to be called “The Big One”. Talladega Superspeedway is famous for such jarring metal bending, gravity defying spectacles. Veteran NCWTS crew chief Jeff Hensley knows going into the lion’s den of speed at Talladega presents both opportunity and risk.</p>
<p>“There is no safe place to run at Talladega,” Hensley said. “When you are racing with these plates everyone is just on top of each other and if something happens there really is just no place to go. Just being able to miss the big one and just being able to be in the right line to draft in are the two biggest things that control your destiny at Talladega. If you can get your truck to handle well and draft and pull up good, you can run really well. </p>
<p>Last year we started 23rd and were leading by lap 10. The race last year did a lot for Brian’s confidence on the superspeedways. He ran up front, led laps and had a good shot to win at the end. I think he realized that he could race with the best of them at Talladega and Daytona and that he belonged. So much of superspeedway racing is confidence. He drove an excellent race all day long at Talladega last year. He was patient when he needed to be and aggressive when he needed to be. Coming to the checkered flag we were within an arm’s length of winning the race.”  </p>

It is so much fun to draft with all those other competitors.  The things that you can do with your truck on the racetrack when everything is just right are really cool, just eye opening. To be part of a big pack where you can go from the front to back and back to the front is unique. It is a real rollercoaster ride. It is one of the most enjoyable aspects of driving in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The draft multiplies all the sensations you are having in the truck. When you get the right pocket of air or steal air off of someone you can get a really good run. It is like nothing else.”</p>
<p>The Mountain Dew 250 at Talladega Superspeedway is slated for Saturday October 31st at 4:00pm ET and will be telecast live nationally on SPEED. It will also be broadcast live via radio worldwide on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and on SIRIUS Satellite Radio NASCAR channel 128.</p>
<p><strong>Chassis for Talladega Superspeedway:</strong> Xpress Motorsports will bring chassis number 94 to the Mountain Dew 250 at Talladega Superspeedway. This new Triad Racing Technologies chassis will be utilized in its second race with Brian Scott and his No. 16 Albertsons Toyota Tundra/Xpress Motorsports team. It previously posted a 12th place finish at Daytona. </p>

<p>Martinsville Speedway &#8211; October 24, 2009</strong></p>
<p>- Tundra driver Timothy Peters, who resides in Danville, Va., earned his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck<br />
Series (NCWTS) win in Saturday afternoon&#8217;s race at Martinsville Speedway.</p>
<p>- Peters led the final 84 (of 200) laps to earn the 12th victory for Toyota in 2009 and the 63rd since joining series<br />
competition in 2004.</p>
<p>- Along with Peters, five Tundra drivers also earned top-10 finishes at half-mile Virginia short track, including Todd<br />
Bodine (second), Denny Hamlin (sixth), David Starr (eighth) and Terry Cook (10th).</p>
<p>- Toyota drivers Aric Almirola (12th), Stacy Compton (14th), Max Papis (21st), Mike Skinner (23rd), Brian Scott (24th),<br />
Tayler Malsam (28th), T.J. Bell (30th) and Peyton Sellers (31st) were also in the field.</p>

Mike Smith (track public relations) and Clay Campbell (track president) &#8212; I can&#8217;t say enough about these guys for the show that they put on not only for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series here at Martinsville Speedway but the Balley&#8217;s 300 also, a Late Model stock race.  It&#8217;s been bitter sweet &#8212; a long time coming.  This was is for my dad.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Were you worried that you would run out of fuel?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I was a little worried about that in the beginning.  What a great call Chad (Kendrick) made at the beginning to come down pit<br />
road to get tires.  We were just so loose on forward bite on the beginning of the run in this <a href="http://www.Strutmasters.com">Strutmasters.com</a>, Red Horse<br />
Racing Toyota Tundra.  I can&#8217;t thank these guys enough.  Everybody involved with us.  The No. 1 was number one today.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>What were you thinking the last few laps?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;The last 10 laps, I was saying my prayers.  &#8216;C&#8217;mon Lord, let&#8217;s go 10 laps.&#8217;  Thank the Lord above.  This right here is<br />
awesome to win at Martinsville for my Dad, who I lost in (2001).  I have a lot of memories right here.  I&#8217;m speechless.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Did you feel anything special this morning that made you think you could win?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s nothing out of the ordinary other than I wanted to race today really bad because I knew in race trim we had a real good<br />
truck.  We were just a little too free in qualifying and didn&#8217;t get the starting position that we like, but again, the beginning of<br />
the race, we were just a little too free as far as our drive off.  We came down pit road somewhat out of sequence.  Chad made<br />
great calls.  Nothing is any different.  I got up and put my clothes on the same way I do every day.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>What did it mean to have veteran drivers congratulate you in victory lane?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I had Todd (Bodine) and Ron (Hornaday) come up.  I thought I was going to have a heart attack from that cold Gatorade he<br />
dumped on me.  Terry Cook, Stacy Compton, all the guys that have had success in this sport, especially Todd and Ron with<br />
their championships &#8212; it&#8217;s an awesome feeling.  Tom (DeLoach) talked about the last time that he had been victory lane was<br />
&#8217;06, and the last time I was in victory lane was &#8217;05 and it was here.  It feels great to be in victory lane.  Four years is a long<br />
time, especially when you come off Saturday night short tracks and you&#8217;re used to winning week in and week out.  We knew<br />
we had to get the respect of these guys because they&#8217;re professionals.  Hopefully they see that with us.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>CHAD KENDRICK, crew chief, No. 1 Strutmasters Toyota Tundra, Red Horse Racing</p>
<p>What were your thoughts in the final laps of the race today?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;Since Vegas this race right here &#8211; I have a calendar in my office and this race was marked.  So as soon as Vegas as over<br />
our thought concentration and everything went into this race.  We went and tested and tested and went to the seven-post and<br />
we put a lot of effort.  We also put a lot of effort into the fuel because we were here in the spring and was running fifth with<br />
eight to go and ran out.  So we sat down and we looked at it and looked at it and in practice we probably spent just as much<br />
time on the fuel mileage stuff as we did getting the truck prepared to win.  </p>
<p>When the race started the truck was actually a lot<br />
freer than I anticipated it being and it was almost to the point where I could visually see that he (Timothy Peters) didn&#8217;t<br />
have a truck to win at the front of the race and he was telling me that he didn&#8217;t have a truck to win at the front of the race.<br />
When that caution fell we had planned from the set of the race that we were going to do one stop and we knew we could go<br />
all the way so when that caution came out it kind of came out exactly where we kind of planned.  </p>
<p>Came down pit road, took<br />
the four tires, came back for fuel and made some big swings at it and was just hoping it was going to be enough.  When he<br />
fired off back racing he was running his fastest time like every tenth lap.  I knew we had a good truck.  At this point it was<br />
just a little tight off but it was free rolling the center better than any truck here and I could see that so I told Timothy<br />
(Peters), &#8216;If you take your time and get to the lead I really feel confident we could win this thing.&#8217;  He did the rest.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>TOM DeLOACH, team owner, No. 1 Strutmasters Toyota Tundra, Red Horse Racing</p>
<p>How happy are you for your race team?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m thrilled with these guys.  It was a real pleasure for me to get to know Timothy (Peters), get to see the passion and the<br />
drive in this guy.  Many of you don&#8217;t know &#8212; Timothy comes down to our shop every day.  He is there in the shop every<br />
day working on his truck and T.J.&#8217;s (Bell) truck.  You don&#8217;t see that in drivers today.  You tell me any other driver that is<br />
going into any shop and participating with the guys building those trucks.  It doesn&#8217;t exist and that&#8217;s what is so special about<br />
this guy.  He can get out there, he can get up on the wheel, he can race hard but he&#8217;s one of the team.  </p>
<p>And you keep saying there&#8217;s no I in team, well there&#8217;s a little bit of me in team and Timothy (Peters) is the me in that team.  He gets out there and he gets it done.  He works together with these guys.  He and Chad (Kendrick) have a special relationship.  Sometimes you hear them fussing at each other and you think it&#8217;s two brothers about to get in a fight but that&#8217;s just the way it is.  They<br />
communicate that way and it works and you see the relationship and it&#8217;s just really pleasing to me to see this thing kind of<br />
come to fruition at a track like this.  We were here in 2006 with David Starr.  It was a thrilling time then and I&#8217;ve got to tell<br />
you, there&#8217;s something about a win &#8212; you go three years because you&#8217;re looking for that next win &#8211; and when I ran into this<br />
guy I knew we&#8217;d get a win.  The question was when not where.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>TODD BODINE, No. 30 Lumber Liquidators Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing</p>
<p>Finishing Position: </strong> 2nd</p>
<p><strong>How was your race today?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;It was pretty good.  We struggled a little bit in practice.  Of course the first practice was shortened. (Mike Hillman) Jr. (crew<br />
chief) made some really good calls and made some good calls there at the second practice and we adjusted during the race and<br />
got pretty good.  Got a little track position, saved some fuel.  The Lumber Liquidators Tundra was decent.  I tell you, though,<br />
for Timmy (Peters).  He&#8217;s such a good racer and such a good kid.  It&#8217;s about time he gets to victory lane.  One other thing I<br />
want to say is that the pink helmet I had for breast cancer awareness month pay attention to EBay because it&#8217;s going to go on<br />
there after Talladega.  We&#8217;re trying to raise money for a great cause.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>How did your truck handle during the race?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;We had a great Tundra.  This Lumber Liquidators Tundra was really good.  We struggled a little the first practice.  We got<br />
the thing to turn through the middle of the corner.  That&#8217;s what you&#8217;ve got to have at Martinsville.  Be able to turn and get<br />
good forward bite and we were.  At the end of the race we got a little tight in the middle.  I had to use it up a little more than I<br />
wanted to coming through traffic.  When Ron (Hornaday) and (Mike) Skinner and those guys got behind me I knew I had to<br />
go then.  I couldn&#8217;t wait and I burned it up a little bit.  It was a great day.  A top-five here from what we we&#8217;ve had this year,<br />
we&#8217;ll take it and go with it.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Did you feel like you had a race-winning truck today?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m really tickled to see Timmy (Peters) win.  He&#8217;s such a good kid.  He&#8217;s a great racer. I had a good Lumber Liquidators<br />
Tundra.  I had to use it up a little more than I wanted coming back through the pack.  I was doing pretty good taking my time.<br />
Ron (Hornaday) and Mike (Skinner) and those guys got up behind me and then I had to go and I had to use it up and beat the<br />
right-front up a little more than I wanted to.  We got to the end barely.  I think another 10 laps and Colin (Braun) probably<br />
would&#8217;ve got us but we had a good run.  The guys worked hard.  We weren&#8217;t that good in the first practice but we made some<br />
great changes for the second one and we dialed it in fairly good.  We didn&#8217;t know what we had.  We made a couple changes<br />
for the race.  It was a pretty good day all in all.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>What was the difference today compared to finishes at Martinsville in the past?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;Better luck.  We ran really well in the spring.  I think we were running second and got a flat tire, had to go to the back, came<br />
all the way to fourth with the green-white checker and got spun out going into three on the last lap and crashed.  We&#8217;ve had a<br />
lot of bad luck here but we&#8217;ve run really well too.  We just came up a little short again.  You&#8217;re right.  The family legacy here,<br />
I&#8217;ve got to get a grandfather clock before I&#8217;m done that&#8217;s for sure to be the only three brothers to ever win here.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>How was your race today?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;The Harris Trucking Cajun Industries Toyota Tundra was pretty good all day.  This is probably one of the better trucks<br />
we&#8217;ve ever had here at Martinsville.  Worked track position early but then we realized the competition was coming and it<br />
was time to get tires.  And probably waited just a tick too long to get tires and lost some track position.  We had a problem<br />
with the brakes at the beginning.  We were just trying to be a little aggressive with our brake package and overheated the<br />
brakes early which coincidentally late in the race made the brakes work night quite as good.  This is probably one of the<br />
better trucks that we&#8217;ve ever had here and this team has been in a little bit of a slump for the past five or six weeks so we<br />
wanted to come out here with a solid top-10 finish, we got it and it&#8217;s on to Talladega.&#8221;</p>

<p>NOTE:  Mike Skinner recorded his 50th career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) pole Friday afternoon at<br />
Martinsville Speedway.  He will make his 200th NCWTS start Saturday at the half-mile speedway.</p>
<p>MIKE SKINNER, No. 5 PC Miler Navigator Toyota Tundra, Randy Moss Motorsports</p>
<p>Starting Position: </strong> 1st</p>
<p><strong>What does it mean to have your 200th Truck Series start at Martinsville?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I ran my very first Sprint Cup race here at Martinsville.  I won a big Late Model race up here.  I have a lot of great<br />
memories up here.  It&#8217;s kind of cool that it worked out that our 200th start will end up at Martinsville.  I love this place.  It&#8217;s<br />
definitely a top-five race track that I love to race on.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Do you think this truck is capable of winning Saturday&#8217;s race?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I think the truck is good.  Us and (Kevin) Harvick, and four or five other guys that are really, really good.  If we have a<br />
good pit stop and nothing crazy happens to us, I think we have a chance.  I think we have a good chance to win.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Were you happy with your qualifying run?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I really felt like I did not get the truck in the corner as good as I had done earlier and I really didn&#8217;t expect it to hold up but it<br />
did.  The truck is really, really awesome.  It&#8217;s really awesome in race trim.  It&#8217;s the Iowa truck that we ran at Iowa.  PC Miler<br />
Navigator is on board with us again this weekend and it&#8217;s kind of a milestone for us.  The 200th start deal is really no big<br />
deal.  We left the series in 1997 and never came back until 2004.  We ran a race here and there.  I don&#8217;t regret going and<br />
running in the Sprint Cup Series all of those years.  I had a lot of fun and had some success but I sure loving these trucks and I<br />
love running this Toyota truck.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>How was your qualifying lap?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s rough going first, and I&#8217;m on a streak here.  In the spring, I had to qualify first as well.  It&#8217;s definitely not an advantage to<br />
have to go that early, but I felt like we put together a pretty decent run considering.  Jeff Hensley and the guys really did an<br />
awesome job and I hope I can get a win for Toyota and get them closer to clinching that manufacturer&#8217;s championship.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>STACY COMPTON, No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance/Melling Engine Parts Toyota Tundra, Wyler Racing</p>
<p>Starting Position: </strong> 6th</p>
<p><strong>Are you happy with your qualifying effort?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I was pleased with it.  This SafeAuto/Melling Toyota was good in practice.  The best it drove.  When I ran a lap, I asked<br />
how it was and I didn&#8217;t know what to expect.  The truck has been good since we got here.  This place has always been so<br />
good to us.  It&#8217;s sort of a home town race for me.  This one means a lot to come up here and run good.  I&#8217;m pretty excited<br />
about the race.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>TODD BODINE, No. 30 Lumber Liquidators Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing</p>
<p>Starting Position:</strong>  8th</p>
<p><strong>How is your truck and how do you think weather might affect the race?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re okay.  We&#8217;re not stellar by any means, just okay.  It is what it is.  We got what we got.  If we have to race after the<br />
Cup cars, the track is going to be really rubbered up and slick.  The best balanced truck will be at the front.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>TAYLER MALSAM, No. 81 One Eighty Toyota Tundra, Randy Moss Motorsports</p>

<p><strong>How was your truck in practice and qualifying?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;In race trim, we have a really good Strutmasters.com Toyota.  In qualifying trim, we thought we had it there but we missed<br />
it.  It&#8217;s frustrating because obviously track position means the world here.  We&#8217;ll take what we got and hopefully at the<br />
checkered flag tomorrow, we&#8217;ll be number one.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>What does this race mean to you growing up so close to Martinsville?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;This race means the world to me, just because it&#8217;s 20 minutes from home and I have had a lot of success up here.  I&#8217;m just<br />
frustrated a little bit because we should&#8217;ve been better than that.  I knew we were better than that.  But, they don&#8217;t pay<br />
anything to start, it&#8217;s where you finish.  We&#8217;ll be okay tomorrow.&#8221;</p>

Throughout the years a win at Martinsville has served as a jewel on the crown of stock car racing’s most accomplished competitors. 21 year-old NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Brian Scott would like nothing more than to add his name to the list of conquerors when he competes in Saturday afternoon’s Kroger 200 at Martinsville.</p>
<p>“Everybody wants to win at Martinsville,” Scott said. “There are some tracks that really put a stamp on your resume if you can win there and Martinsville is one of those places. You gain a lot of respect if you can win there. It has a storied history, and some of the greatest names in NASCAR history have had great success there. Drivers who have shaped this sport like Earnhardt, Petty, Waltrip, and Wallace have proven they can win multiple times at one of the most difficult racetracks around. It makes it a very prestigious accomplishment to get to victory lane at Martinsville. </p>
<p>With a combination of a really good truck, my past experience there and some good pit strategy we could have a good shot at winning there. It would be a huge win for us. It would be a great victory. With Jeff Hensley being from that area and with all the guys having friends and family attending, Martinsville is a really big deal. This is almost a home track race for this whole team. It is a very important race and I know all the guys on this Xpress Motorsports team are putting in 110 percent in trying to give us the best opportunity possible to win at Martinsville.”</p>
<p>Scott’s crew chief on the No. 16 Albertsons Toyota Tundra, Jeff Hensley, knows Martinsville Speedway extremely well. The Horsepasture, VA native practically grew up on the grounds of the racetrack. One of the things he respects most about the tight half-mile oval is the difficulty level associated with finding victory lane.</p>
<p>“Martinsville is a tough place to win,” Hensley says. “There are so many circumstances out of your control. When you take a look at the last five races of the 2009 season, Martinsville and Talladega are the two biggest question marks we have. You can go to either place, be running good and then get caught up in something that was totally out of your control and end up with a really bad day. That is as true for Martinsville as it is Talladega because of how hard it is to work the traffic. Your strategy has to work out for you to have the finish you would like. It is just a tough place to race, a tough place to go and win. That is why some of the names you see as consistent winners at Martinsville have been some of the best drivers in NASCAR history.”  </p>
<p>Some NASCAR venues require more bravery than technique. Martinsville’s unique paperclip shape, extremely tight confines and flat corners require more finesse than a lot of the high-speed high-banked tracks on the NCWTS tour. After four previous visits to the Virginia short track, Scott hopes he has a handle on it.</p>

All of your success depends on your entry into the corner. If you under drive the entry you have a tendency to want to pick up the throttle too soon and you can disrupt the effectiveness of the corner. If you drive in too hard you end up picking up the throttle too late. It is all about hitting your marks. You are also at the mercy of other drivers as well, as they can try and root and gouge you. The best thing is to just run your race, be consistent and hope that others slip up and that you are in position to take advantage of it. You have to be real methodical in working your way to the front.”</p>
<p>Both Scott and Hensley see the importance of having a good run at Martinsville. The Kroger 200 starts a streak of five consecutive events that will ultimately determine the final running for the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship points chase.</p>
<p>“The most important thing for us over these last five races is for us to be able to show consistency by running in the top-five,” Scott added. “I think that will go a long way towards solidifying our points standing and give us a good chance to gain some points positions on some of the other teams ahead of us. We can’t have a good race here or a good race there we need to be a factor each and every week. We need to show how consistently strong we can be over these next five races.”</p>
<p>“Words can’t even describe how important these last five races are to us,” Hensley claims. “We have come a long way in a short time with this team. We have been competitive, won, run in the top ten almost every week and are currently fourth in points. Now we get a chance to go to some racetracks where Brian and I have a little bit of history together so we have high expectations for these last five events. We are going back to places where we had some good top 10 runs like Talladega and Texas and to some tracks like Phoenix and Homestead where we had top-fives at the end of last year. </p>
<p>I am excited about it because some of the tracks coming up are where we have had some of our best runs. I feel like we have every opportunity in the world to move up in points. If we can put together a string of good consistent runs here at the end of the season then we can make up some ground. To win at Martinsville with Brian Scott would be a really big deal for me, especially with how hard it is to win there. It would be a good way to kick off these last five races. Another win at Martinsville would be huge for me personally. I won there twice with Mike Skinner in the midst of a points battle in 2007 and I have won there a couple of times in the Nationwide Series back in the early 90’s.”</p>
<p>The Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway is slated for Saturday October 24th at 1:00pm ET and will be telecast live nationally on SPEED. It will also be broadcast live via radio worldwide on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and on n NASCAR channel 128.</p>
<p><strong>Chassis for Martinsville: </strong> Xpress Motorsports will bring chassis number 133 to the Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway. This new Triad Racing Technologies chassis will see its fifth race with Brian Scott and his Xpress Motorsports Toyota team. It previously posted a top-10 at Martinsville, placed 14th at ORP, finished second at Memphis and third at Gateway.</p>

It was one year ago that Scott made the switch to the Toyota Tundra and added Jeff Hensley as his crew chief. Since that first race together in Las Vegas in 2008, the dynamic duo have proven to be one of the most effective combinations in the NCWTS garage area, posting 16 top 10’s, 9 top-five finishes (including second place finishes at Homestead, Memphis and Nashville) and a win at Dover. As a result of their shared efforts the No. 16 Albertsons Toyota Tundra team currently holds the fourth spot in the NCWTS points chase.</p>
<p>“Racing with Jeff Hensley has been great,” Scott said.  “He has helped me a lot.  He has helped the guys in our Xpress Motorsports shop a lot.  He has moved our whole organization to the next level and then beyond that really.  He’s bridged a lot of gaps for us and he has helped us tremendously from a competition standpoint. I can’t even believe we have only been together a year and I am really pleased with the amount of success that we’ve seen20together.  The sky is the limit.  I don’t know where this thing is going to peak out but I hope it never does.”</p>
<p>For Hensley, a seasoned veteran, the relationship with Scott has been refreshing. It has allowed the Horsepasture, VA native to show that he can have success with any type of driver, be it a veteran like Mike Skinner or a relative newcomer like Scott.</p>
<p>“Brian Scott is absolutely the real deal,” Hensley says. “I think our success is owed to the ultimate trust between the two of us.   He trusts me to let me do my job.  If he tells me the truck is doing this, I don’t second guess him.  We work on it and try to make it as good as we possibly can make it.  Right down to the last 30 seconds of practice.  So I think that is the biggest thing.  </p>
<p>I think that’s got to happen between anybody to be successful at this level – it can’t be all me, and it can’t be all him.  It has to be a group effort and I think that once the guys on the team see that, then they realize, hey, these two guys are serious about what they are doing and they work harder.  The situation here is unique in the fact he trusts what I want to do or try and I trust his abilities, and it has just been a really good relationship.  I don’t know what to compare it to, other than just two people that are driven for the same goal.  N either one of us may be the best, but together we are pretty decent.”</p>

He realizes that his own career has improved greatly from the time the two have spent working together.</p>
<p>“It looks like we get better and better and we learn more about each other every weekend,” Scott added. “It’s exciting to be in that type of relationship and to have that caliber of crew chief.  I’m excited to go to every race track and to not even be worried about going to race tracks that I’ve never been to before or a race track the Truck Series hasn’t been to before.  To have that confidence in each other is truly great to have. The past year has been a real eye opening experience for me and it has given me more confidence in my own abilities. I now know each and every week we pull into the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series garage that we will have a truck to be reckoned with. ”  </p>
<p>“I think the thing we probably missed a little bit of last year in the 7 races we worked together was the consistency,” Hensley said.  “I think that was more equipment than anything because over the winter we had an opportunity to make all of our stuff the same so no matter what truck he got into it was the same environment and I’m a firm believer in everything being the same.  Also just the confidence of coming off two top-five finishes last year and that building over the winter.  You can’t be successful in anything you do without confidence and you can’t do it if somebody is beating you down.  </p>
<p>We have to be there to lift each other up when things are not going like they should be. Fortunately for us things have been going really good. I think 99% of that is just the atmosphere that we have around here.  I haven’t been fortunate enough to work with a lot of people that share my sentiment at that, but Brian does, which I think goes back to the trust issue.  If you look at our deal this year, I mean, we crashed at Michigan and broke his wrist, which would have probably killed better teams.   But we came back to Milwaukee and finished 3rd and went to Memphis and finished 2nd.”  </p>
<p>The Las Vegas 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is slated for Saturday September 26th and will be telecast live on SPEED at 9:30pm ET. It will also be broadcast live via radio worldwide on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and on SIRIUS Satellite Radio NASCAR channel 128.</p>
<p><strong>Chassis for Las Vegas Motor Speedway:</strong> Xpress Motorsports will bring chassis number 127 to the Las Vegas 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This Triad Racing Technologies chassis will compete in its fourth event with Brian Scott at the wheel.
