Last Thursday’s Kansas Lottery 150 provided a lot of green flag racing, along with very few chances for teams to come down pit road and make adjustments to their cars. The No. 32 KartSport NA Toyota Camry handled well on the long runs for Marks and he was able to stay just outside the top-five consistently all afternoon. A late race caution and a jumbled restart with less than ten laps remaining slid Justin back a few positions into the 10th spot by lap 100.
Setting sails towards North Carolina for the season finale and 200 laps on the historic Rockingham Speedway, Win-Tron Racing and Marks will participate in the open test session taking place at the one-mile oval on Thursday to take advantage of some extra practice time. The team will be bringing one of their favorite Dodge Chargers to the track this weekend; the same car that most recently brought them back to back top-five finishes at Toledo and Salem.
“We’ve run well with this Construct Corps Dodge Charger in each race it’s been to this year, and with the practice session on Thursday we should be dialed in for some long green flag runs on Saturday,” Marks commented. “I know what it takes to go fast around this place and I know the competition will be tough, so it should be a great show to end the season.”
Justin and his team will also be focused on a strong performance on Saturday not only to end the year with a bang, but also to raise some funds for a great cause. “Laps That Matter”, a special charity event headed up by Marks will raise money for The V Foundation for cancer research. For every lap Justin completes, a donation will be made to the non-profit organization stemming from pledges made by sponsors and other members of the ARCA Racing community.
Fans, teams, and anyone interested in joining this great cause can still do so by following instructions found in the “News” section of Win-TronRacing.com.
Marks’ experience at Rockingham Speedway includes two starts in the ARCA Racing Series, most recently last year’s season finale where he qualified 13th and finished 11th with a strong racecar. Beyond ARCA, Justin has also turned many laps in a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series ride during testing sessions at The Rock. Win-Tron’s performances at the historic oval include a 10th place effort last fall with young driver Brett Moffitt behind the wheel, and a third place finish with Matt Merrell in the spring of 2009.
The 10th place run last weekend for Win-Tron pushed driver Justin Marks into the sixth position in championship points, trailing fifth place Mikey Kile by five points and fourth place Frank Kimmel by only 30.
