Post-Race Notes & Quotes

Homestead-Miami Speedway – November 20, 2010

- Kyle Busch earned his 13th win of the season in Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race at Homestead-
Miami Speedway.

- Busch’s win enabled Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) to earn its third straight NNS owner’s championship — the second
consecutive title for the No. 18 Camry. The No. 20 Camry earned the title in 2008.

- Busch led seven times for a race-high 153 laps (of 200) at the 1.5-mile oval.

- Camry drivers earned 17 series victories in 2010 and have won 54 races since the manufacturer joined the series in 2007.
Joey Logano (seventh), Brendan Gaughan (eighth) and Jason Leffler (10th) also earned top-10 results for Toyota.

- Other Camry drivers in the field included Martin Truex Jr. (12th), Reed Sorenson (14th), Steve Wallace (15th), David
Reutimann (16th), Cole Whitt (17th), Brian Scott (18th), Michael Annett (24th), Kasey Kahne (38th) and Kevin Lepage
(41st).

- Eight Toyota drivers ended the season in the top-15 in the unofficial NNS driver points, including Busch (third), Logano
(eighth), Leffler (ninth), Wallace (10th), Gaughan (11th), Sorenson (12th), Annett (13th) and Scott (14th).

KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 Z-Line Designs Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 1st

Can you describe what it means to you to earn your second win and owner’s championship this weekend at Homestead?

“You don’t right now. You just come out here and enjoy it. All of these guys from Joe Gibbs Racing, everybody from Z-Line Designs — Jim and Monica (Sexton, Z-Line Design owners) are here to help us celebrate. This Toyota was fast, man. I just can’t thank these guys enough. They do a great job at Joe Gibbs Racing — the chassis shop, the body shop, everybody. They put it all together for us in these last three seasons. It’s a shame to see this car go, but we’ve got a new priority here next year. It will be fun. It will be a new challenge for us. I can’t thank NOS Energy Drink enough, Combos, M&M’s, Interstate Batteries, Nationwide Insurance for a great series. This has been so much fun. It’s been cool to come out here and enjoy and celebrate with all of these guys. They deserve to celebrate as much as anybody. I can’t thank the fans enough of course.”

What happened on the last pass for the lead?

“It was a battle. Kevin (Harvick) was a great race tonight and he had a great race car. I just can’t thank these guys at Joe Gibbs Racing enough — the engine shop, the chassis, bodies, everybody that builds these race cars. All of the guys that are standing here behind me that come out here and pit these things. They do a wonderful job and they deserve to celebrate and they deserve to celebrate long and hard for this one. Being the owner’s champion is really special to us. That’s what we set out to do at the beginning of the year. A great race out there. (Kevin) Harvick was strong and I just got a good restart there on that last one. I had to work for it, it wasn’t easy. I started getting tight there at the end of the race, but I had just enough there to beat him out.”

Would you have thought you would win 13 races in 2010 at the beginning of this year?

“I would’ve said I wish. I thought eight or nine (wins) is doable, but 13 that’s really hard to do. I couldn’t do it without all of these guys. I’m going to be selfish and say that I wish we had 15, you know, because I feel that we could’ve won that many this year. We’ve had a few taken away from us, but it wasn’t due to lack of effort. These guys gave it their all. Now we can go to the banquet on Monday night and have a really good party with all of us on stage too.”

Do you think you win tomorrow’s Cup race and sweep all three races this weekend?

“The Cup car is pretty good. I like it. Dave (Rogers, crew chief) has done a really nice job. It’s just going to be all about
patience and coming through the heat of the day. We’re going to have a lot of sun out there tomorrow and it’s going to be hot and it’s going to be slick so you’ve got to have a car that definitely handles well at the beginning of the run, but one that definitely handles well at the end of the run as well.”

J.D. GIBBS, president, Joe Gibbs Racing

How much does it mean to your organization to win another owner’s championship?

“It’s a huge deal for us. You kind of look back, and we started it in the first year with Bobby Labonte. All we learned over the years was what not to do and what to do. Watching Kyle (Busch) and Jason (Ratcliff, crew chief) and those guys coming together, and Brad (Coleman) in there as well, it’s just a blessing for us.”

JOE GIBBS, team owner, Joe Gibbs Racing

How exciting is this for your organization to win its third straight owner’s championship?

“We’re thrilled. I think that’s been well documented. Our struggles the first years in Nationwide Series and how hard it was for us. I really appreciate Jason (Ratcliff, crew chief), the team here, Brad (Coleman) — Safeway Driving Schools. I also want to say thanks to Combos, Interstate Batteries and NOS. It’s really hard to put together a team like that to allow us to race in the Nationwide Series. But with Kyle (Busch), we really appreciate it. We’re thrilled to be a part of it. J.D. (Gibbs, Joe Gibbs Racing president) works mostly on the Nationwide side, and I take the credit for it. In any case, it’s a thrill for us and I appreciate it. One thing I left out front, too, is Toyota. I really want to make sure that the championship there and what they’ve done for us, we couldn’t be up here if it wasn’t for Toyota. I really appreciate them.”

JASON RATCLIFF, crew chief, No. 18 Z-Line Designs Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

How exciting is it for your team to win another owner’s championship and end the season with a win?

“It was obviously a tremendous blessing for us to have the opportunity to be close to winning another owner’s championship with Kyle (Busch) and Brad (Coleman) this year in the car, both of them did an outstanding job. Last week, we felt like we had a pretty good — as far as the point’s lead goes last week — we had some trouble at Phoenix, kind of like we did last year. So it’s very gratifying to come into Homestead and have the kind of run that we had tonight. We were able to close the deal. The guys again did a great job on pit road. The guys, the mechanics that turned the wrench on this car, they did a great job preparing it at the shop. Lot of effort went into this car this week, lot of studying, lot of notes, and it paid off for us in the end.”

JOEY LOGANO, No. 20 GameStop / MASTIFF Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 7th

How was your race today?

“We ran eighth or ninth all day. The car went from too loose and can’t drive the thing to being so tight that you can’t go
anywhere. We were at both ends of the spectrum today and didn’t go anywhere. It’s disappointing to end the season that way.”

BRENDAN GAUGHAN, No. 62 Aspen Dental Toyota Camry, Rusty Wallace Racing

Finishing Position: 24th

KASEY KAHNE, No. 38 Great Clips Toyota Camry, Braun Racing

Finishing Position: 38th

What happened to take you out of the race?

“It looks like (Justin) Allgaier just lost it to me. I’ve been in a couple of his wrecks this year as far as the Nationwide side goes. I passed the 99 (Martin Truex Jr.) on entry and I was passing the 22 (Brad Keselowski) and I was on the inside so I went left. I wish I would’ve went right — I probably could’ve missed it. It was just a bad decision or the track was kind of blocked out. Our Great Clips car was fast and I think we were going forward. It’s just kind of discouraging that our race is over.”

No. 38 Great Clips

Homestead-Miami Speedway

Ford 300

November 20, 2010

· Kahne back in the seat of the No. 38 Great Clips machine for the 2010 season-finale… This weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway (HMS), Kahne will make his eighth start of the season for Turner Motorsports in the No. 38 entry. In seven races for the team, Kahne has captured one pole (Atlanta) and posted one top-five and two top-10 finishes with 72 laps led. Kahne drove the No. 38 Great Clips machine for three seasons for team owner, Doug Stringer, under the Akins Motorsports banner.

· Kahne brought Great Clips their first win at Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2003! From 2003-2005, Kahne and his sponsor, Great Clips, Inc., reached momentous milestones together, including Kahne capturing his first career Nationwide Series victory in 2003 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. It was also Great Clips’ first win as a primary sponsor in the series.

· Kahne proves impressive at Homestead… In six NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at HMS, Kahne is credited with one win, one top-five and two top-10 finishes, with a total of 36 laps led. He has an average start of 8.0 and an average finish of 18.7.

· Did you know? Great Clips is the longest-running sponsor in the Nationwide Series…Minneapolis-based Great Clips, Inc. came onto the scene in 2001 as a primary sponsor of Akins Motorsports No. 38 entry, then driven by Christian Elder. Kasey Kahne drove the car from 2003-2005, before Jason Leffler took over the wheel in 2006. This season, Leffler and Kahne shared driving duties of the No. 38 Great clips machine.

· Who’s on the pit box? Stewart Cooper will call the shots for Kahne and serve as crew chief for the No. 38 Great Clips team this weekend.

Kasey Kahne on his long-tenured partnership with Great Clips

“It has really been great to drive the Great Clips car again this season. It’s awesome to be able to partner up with them again after all this time. I got my start with them as my sponsor back in 2003, and that’s something I have never forgotten. We are not running for a championship so my ultimate goal for the season has been to take this Great Clips team back to victory lane. We have got one more shot at it this weekend and I feel pretty good about our chances. The Great Clips machine has been strong all season but we haven’t had much luck to go along with it. Hopefully, we can get that turned around this weekend!”

Equipment Information:

The No. 38 Great Clips team will hit the track with chassis #051 in this weekend’s Ford 300. This is the same chassis James Buescher last piloted at Texas Motor Speedway, where he captured the pole and ran in the top-five before his day was cut short when he suffered a blown right front tire.

Post-Race Notes & Quotes

Phoenix International Raceway – November 13, 2010

- Joey Logano (third) was the highest finishing Camry driver in Saturday’s 200-lap NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS)
race at Phoenix International Raceway.

- Logano started from the pole position and led the first 23 (of 200) laps in the Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) No. 20 GameStop
Camry.

- Reed Sorenson (fifth) and Steve Wallace (10th) also earned top-10 results for Toyota at the one-mile track.
Other Toyota drivers in the field included Brian Scott (11th), Cole Whitt (15th), Kyle Busch (16th), Michael Annett
(18th), Ricky Carmichael (21st), James Buescher (22nd), Ryan Truex (23rd), Brendan Gaughan (27th), Jason Leffler
(33rd) and Martin Truex Jr. (34th).

- Eight Toyota drivers are in the top-15 in the unofficial NNS driver points following Phoenix — Busch (third), Logano
(seventh), Wallace (ninth), Leffler (10th), Gaughan (11th), Sorenson (12th), Annett (13th) and Scott (14th).

- The JGR No. 18 Camry, primarily driven by Busch, currently leads the unofficial NNS owner’s point standings — holding
a 41-point lead with one race remaining in the 2010 season.

JOEY LOGANO, No. 20 GameStop Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 3rd

How was your race?

“It was so-so, I guess. You know at the beginning of the race we were okay. We led some laps from the take off but we weren’t — I knew Carl (Edwards) was definitely faster than the 12 (Justin Allgaier) at the beginning of the race. We made little adjustments here and there. We got the balance better but I didn’t feel like we got any faster. I don’t know. We had a decent run in the GameStop Toyota, just thought we were going to be better than that after practice. Carl (Edwards) had his car hooked up today, we had nothing for him. I don’t think anyone had anything for him, he was pretty fast.”

Where did you lose ground on Carl Edwards?

“Everywhere, he basically had that thing hooked up pretty good. Down there in (turns) one and two you’re tight in the center and loose off the corner. He (Carl Edwards) looked like he was a little bit better than me in the center and off the corner he was every bit as good as I was. He just had that little bit there in the center and in (turns) three and four he just carried more speed all the way through the corner. Just a little bit faster than us. One to go, we’re going to go to Homestead and win.”

Are you satisfied with a third-place finish at Phoenix?

“We worked on our car and got it better on the short run but not as fast as the 60, Carl (Edwards) was just really fast. We did everything we could to get ourselves better, but didn’t have the speed that we needed to. We were a little bit short, I don’t know. I go into this place, one of my favorite race tracks and you expect to be up there with a shot to win. We were close, we just needed a little more speed. The last 15 laps we were as fast as he was. Overall, we had the pole today, I thought we were going to have a shot at winning it but came up a little bit short. We’ll go to Homestead and try to get one more win there.”

REED SORENSON, No. 32 Dollar General Toyota Camry, Braun Racing

Finishing Position: 5th

Did the sun play a role in today’s race?

“It just made it slick. The sun out here is pretty brutal, it gets the track hot and slick. We had more of a difference between sets of tires than really the track changing — that’s what we were dealing with.”

Was it hard to maneuver your car after the power steering went out?

“It wasn’t fun, I don’t want to do it again, I can tell you that. We were actually catching the 22 (Brad Keselowski) and were pretty fast. I went left and the car just went straight, I couldn’t turn the wheel and it was the power steering. To finish a race like that, it wasn’t very fun. It was hard to run fast laps like that. I was able to kind of maintain on the guys behind us, but it kind of hurt us there at the end. Other than that, the Dollar General team did great. It was a great day for us with another top – five. We were getting close to getting the car where we can win a race, we just didn’t get up there fast enough. All in all it was a great day for the Dollar General Camry.”

STEVE WALLACE, No. 66 5-Hour Energy Toyota Camry, Rusty Wallace Racing
Finishing Position: 10th

BRIAN SCOTT, No. 09 Shore Lodge Toyota Camry, RAB Racing

Finishing Position: 11th

COLE WHITT, No. 84 Red Bull Toyota Camry, Red Bull Racing Team

Finishing Position: 15th

How was your first Nationwide Series race?

“I think it work out pretty good. We come here to run top-15, and we ended up 15th. It was good. It’s what we wanted. We obviously didn’t get the qualifying run we wanted and that made it tough for us to come forward. The pit crew was on all day. We really made up some spots here on pit road. We made some up on the track, too. We raced with some big names and I think we learned a lot. And, if I just get some more chances I think I can really run good in the series. I think everything went pretty good.”

How much did you learn in today’s race?

“I learned a lot lap-by-lap. It was so hard to — I just kept making mistakes because it was my first time out there. I’d make a mistake. Every time was different. We had a couple of short runs and then the long run at the end that we didn’t expect. Our car just got away from us and I kind of drove it pretty hard and maybe wore out the tires too much. A little bit of everything. I think we had a really good car and if we could have had a pit stop there at the end I think we could have come back and got close to the top-10. All in all it was a good day.”

Did anything surprise you today?

“A lot. Like I said, it’s just a big learning curve. Once I kind of started figuring it out it was time to learn something new. It was trying to learn something to use it later in the race and it really didn’t work because later in the race is different than the beginning. I need some seat time to figure it out, but I think I can.”

KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 NOS Energy Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 16th

JASON RATCLIFF, crew chief, No. 18 NOS Energy Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

What type of tire problem did you have late in the race?

“We must have run over something. It was after the last caution. Before that I thought we were making good gains on the car. It was getting closer to the 60 (Carl Edwards). We still didn’t have what we needed to race the 60, but after 40 laps on some of the previous runs our lap times — we were able to close in on him just a little bit. It would have been nice to see what would have happened there if we didn’t have that problem. But, we must have run over something and then whatever we ran over must have knocked a belt off the rear end and the rear end got hot. So, that didn’t help us any either.”

What do you think of today’s results make the owner’s point standings closer?

“It’s going to make it exciting. You hate that it comes down to something like that. We got one more race to go and all we got to do is be one point ahead.”

“I’m not real sure what happened there — something broke on the race car. Just a tough day, we had a decent car throughout practice and made some changes last night and just went the wrong way with the car. The car got really, really tight and we were falling back then we got run into and got our fender bent — that made it worse. I’m not sure what happened right there with the spin and the wreck. The car just spun out and out of the blue. I’d been really tight and it just spun out, I’m not sure what happened. We’ll look into it but it’s a tough day for all these guys, it’s very frustrating. We’ve had some really good runs in this car this year and today we were just way off. It was a rather frustrating day.”

WYPALL 200

November 13, 2010

· Leffler a solid contender at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR)… In 12 Nationwide Series starts at the Avondale, Ariz. track, Leffler has claimed two poles (2000 and 2006), two top-five (2nd in 2000 and 2009) and four top-ten finishes. He has finished outside the top-20 on only two occasions and has led for 121 laps.

· Leffler no stranger to victory lane at PIR… In his USAC racing days, Leffler visited PIR’s victory lane on two occasions. He won the Midget race in 1999 and the Silver Crown feature in 2000. Prior to making the transition to stock cars, Leffler experienced tremendous success in the open wheel ranks, becoming the first driver in 37 years to win three consecutive USAC Midget National titles. In addition, he won the Silver Crown National Championship in 1998, his rookie year in the series.

· Two Great Clips Camry’s on the track at PIR… Jason Leffler will be joined by James Buescher in sporting a Great Clips paint scheme this weekend at Phoenix. Buescher will pilot the No. 11 Great Clips Toyota Camry for Turner Motorsports.

· Turner Motorsports 2011 plans announced… Last weekend, Turner Motorsports announced that its driver line-up for the 2011 season will include the return of a number of familiar faces such as Kasey Kahne, Reed Sorenson, Jason Leffler, James Buescher, Ricky Carmichael and USAC superstar, Brad Sweet. The team has also added NASCAR Nationwide Series standout, Justin Allgaier, to their stable of drivers. Turner Motorsports will continue their relationship with General Motors and the Chevrolet brand and has created alliances with Hendrick Motorsports, who will provide engine support for both its NNS and NCWTS programs, Kevin Harvick Inc. for body and aero support, and Earnhardt Technology Group for drive train and suspension technology assistance. The team will field three full-time entries in both the NCWTS and NNS.

· Leffler on SIRIUS’ Morning Drive every Wednesday… Don’t forget to tune in to SIRIUS Radio’s “Morning Drive” with Mike Bagley and Pete Pistone every Wednesday at 10:30am to hear Leffler’s take on recent events in the Nationwide Series and what you can expect from the week’s upcoming race.

“Phoenix is pretty much my favorite track on the NASCAR circuit. I spent a lot of time out there as a kid and ran the Copper Classic for a number of years. It’s a slick, old race track and unique in that both ends are so different and the surface is so worn out. You slide around a lot but really like having to drive that way. The Great Clips team is having s strong run here at the end, after what has been a really up and down season. Still, ending the year strong can give you a lot of momentum going into the next season. With everything we have going on at Turner Motorsports, we all have a lot to be excited about! We would love nothing more than to end the season with a win! We are going to have a big contingency of Great Clips franchisees with us for the race on Saturday and we would love for them to be able to experience a celebration in victory lane with us.”

Equipment Information

The No. 38 Great Clips team will hit the track with chassis #017 in this weekend’s WYPALL 200. Leffler drove this chassis in races at Gateway (July) and O’Reilly Raceway Park this year, finishing 23rd and 30th, respectively. Leffler drove chassis #017 to the win at ORP in 2007 to give Toyota its first-ever NNS victory

JASON LEFFLER QUICK FACTS

Texas Motor Speedway

O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge

November 6, 2010

· Special “Garage Mahal” paint scheme for the No. 38 at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS)… This weekend, the No. 38 Great Clips Camry will feature a special paint scheme featuring DIY network’s popular show “Garage Mahal.” Hosted by actor and professional wrestler, Bill Goldberg, “Garage Mahal” is a show about remodeling and tricking out garages to a whole new level. Great Clips drivers, Kasey Kahne and Jason Leffler, will be featured in an episode of the show in which they assist in presenting a Charlotte-area couple with a Great Clips Racing-themed garage. The show is scheduled to air on Friday, Dec. 3 at 9:30 p.m. EST, exclusively on DIY Network.

Bill Goldberg on the “Garage Mahal” episode featuring Leffler and Kahne:

“I especially enjoyed this partnership for Garage Mahal,” said Goldberg. “As an avid racing fan, I understand the excitement of having a space where you can entertain, watch the race and cheer on your favorite drivers. We have transformed a lot of garages into unbelievable spaces, but this garage will go above and beyond with the support of Kasey and Jason.”

Leffler on the “Garage Mahal” paint scheme:

“Filming “Garage Mahal” was a blast! Bill Goldberg was a lot of fun to work with and I know that Kasey and I both really enjoyed it. The Great Clips Racing-themed garage turned out really cool and the homeowners were blown away by how it turned out. The episode airs on December 3rd at 9:30pm, exclusively on the DIY Network, so make sure to check it out!”

· Texas is the Site of Leffler’s First Career Nationwide Series Pole… In his first start at TMS in 2000, Leffler captured his first career Nationwide Series pole. Two years later, he sat on the pole for his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the Fort Worth-based track.

· Leffler at TMS, by the numbers… Leffler has 12 Nationwide Series starts at TMS with one pole (2000), one top-five and four top-10 finishes. His best performance at the 1.5-mile tri-oval came last November when he started and finished third. In his last visit to TMS this spring, Leffler finished 12th after starting from the eighth spot and leading for four laps.

· Turner Motorsports 2011 plans to be announced… Turner Motorsports will proudly announce its 2011 plans for both its NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Series programs on Friday, November 5 at 2:30pm CT. The announcement will include driver and sponsor line-up as well as manufacturer and engine supplier details. The press conference will take place in the Victory Theater at the TMS Media Center.

Leffler on racing at Texas Motor Speedway:

“Texas is a really fun track to race! It’s fast and slick with a wide racing surface. You can pretty much run anywhere on the track you want to based on how your car is handling. Turn two is the trouble spot there. The banking holds you really good and then, at last second, the banking falls off. If you aren’t careful you can get caught out there and pick up a bad push at the very end or, if you’re pushing before that, it can snap you loose. It definitely has its own unique characteristics but it is a great track and the racing is always really good.”

Equipment Information

The No. 38 Great Clips team will hit the track with chassis #023 in this weekend’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge. Chassis #023 has posted three top-10 finishes this season in races at Kansas Speedway (10th), Chicagoland Speedway (5th) and Atlanta Motor Speedway (7th).

Post-Race Notes & Quotes

Charlotte Motor Speedway – October 15, 2010

- Martin Truex Jr. (second) was the highest finishing Toyota in Friday night’s NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race at
Charlotte Motor Speedway.

- Camry drivers Joey Logano (fourth), Kyle Busch (sixth) and Reed Sorenson (seventh) also earned top-10 finishes at the 1.5- mile oval.

- Four Toyota drivers led for a total of 120 (of 200) laps Friday night – Truex (20 laps), Logano (eight laps), Busch (84 laps) and James Buescher (eight laps).

- Other Toyota drivers in the field included Brendan Gaughan (11th), David Reutimann (12th), Jason Leffler (15th), Buescher (16th), Steve Wallace (29th), Michael Annett (36th), Ryan Truex (37th) and Kevin Lepage (38th).

- Seven Toyota drivers are in the top-15 in the unofficial NNS driver points following Charlotte — Busch (third), Logano
(seventh), Leffler (ninth), Wallace (10th), Gaughan (11th), Annett (12th) and Sorenson (13th).

MARTIN TRUEX JR., No. 00 Out! Pet Care Toyota Camry, Diamond-Waltrip Racing

Finished: 2nd

Did you have a car to beat Brad Keselowski toward the end of the race?

“He was a little bit better than us obviously there at the end on the long runs. Had a good race – had a lot of fun racing with him. I have to thank Out! Pet Care and everybody at DWR (Diamond-Waltrip Racing) for letting me run this Toyota. I have never been so disappointed to run second. It looked like if those last couple cautions hadn’t come out, we were going to be in good shape. Just a little too tight after that last run there. It’s a shame because on the green flag runs we were really fast and really just called off the adjustments and then we got too tight later. These guys did a great job – they’re a part time Camping World East team that won the championship so to run like this with them again for the second time is awesome and they do an awesome job. I can’t thank them enough. Just wish we could have done one stop better.”

Is this finish a confidence-booster for you?

“We come do this Nationwide deal for fun and running good is obviously a bonus. We’ve run good enough in the Cup car to run second a few times and it just didn’t work out for us. We ran second here in the All-Star Race here in the Cup car. I don’t know if it’s a confidence booster as much as it is about having fun and coming here to get a trophy. It’s been a while since I’ve won a race, to be honest. I feel like I’ve got a good opportunity to do that with this team this year in the 00 and the 99. I got two more races running it to do that and we’ll see what happens.”

What was your opinion of the new Nationwide Series car?

“I think the car is awesome. Honestly, I think they should adapt some of the rules to the Cup cars. I think the racing is great. Not having bump stops is a huge plus for the teams I think as far as saving a bit of money and making things a little less complicated and making the racing better. I think that’s something they could look at. Obviously our noses will be more towards that style next year in the Cup cars, which I think will be good. Overall I think the cars are awesome.

Obviously with looking at the qualifying times and how tight the field is, it definitely tightened the field up from what it was with the other cars when they would come here, which is a good thing. Obviously with all the Cup teams building new cars every two or three months, there’s a lot of cars and chassis’ out there for the smaller buck teams to be able to get and it really helps them be competitive with the body rules and the aero rules where everybody has to fit that template. It’s a big, big deal I think for the series and a big shot in the arm in a good way. I think it’s going to help the series coming down the road.”

JOEY LOGANO, No. 20 GameStop / Guitar Hero Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finished: 4th

How did your final adjustments help your car toward the end of the race?

“We were hoping to make the car better and we just weren’t good enough. There were times we shined and times we got out front. I looked at us as a third-place car for most of the race. The two cars that weren’t leading the race the whole night ended up winning this thing. That’s crazy – they did a good job adjusting on the race car and got their stuff faster. We just kind of maintained all night and it was all about restarts. If you started on the bottom then you were pretty much screwed and it was hard to get back up there and have a decent run.

If you started on the top then you were able to get a couple spots. I figure if you started fourth then that was like starting second – that’s what I was figuring there. Either way, we’re better than what we were in Michigan with these new Nationwide cars and we got our GameStop Toyota a little bit better now. We’ll go back to work and we still have a little ways to go. We’re getting these things better and we’re getting closer now.”

KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 Z-Line Designs Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finished: 6th

JASON RATCLIFF, crew chief, No. 18 Z-Line Designs Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

What did you battle with the race car at the end of the race?

“We started good and led a lot of laps, but as the track changed and it started cooling off we were keeping up with it decent and then it just really got away from us in a hurry. We tried to make some adjustments and the adjustments didn’t react like we had hoped they would. It’s just part of learning this car. We made adjustments that we would have made with the other car that would have been the direction to go. With this car, it just wasn’t right. Either it wasn’t enough or it was the wrong adjustment – one or the other. We’re learning and I thought to start the race, it’s the best we had been with the new car. At the end of the race, we were back to where we were. It’s a building process and we’ll be better next time.”

REED SORENSON, No. 32 Dollar General Toyota Camry, Braun Racing

Finished: 7th

What is your assessment of the new Nationwide Series car?

“It was okay. It was about the same assessment as I had in Michigan, but they seem to be okay. They seem to be fun to race. We can run as much side-by-side racing as the old car, so it seems okay.”

How was your car tonight?

“We were loose. We were never tight. I think you can make it either way, just like the old car. You can make yourself where you’re tight and the other way around. It’s going to be a learning curve track to track, that’s the biggest thing. Trying to figure out what they’ll do. A lot of the places we will go next year are going to be new places with this car since we only ran four races with it this year. It will be interesting next year and we still have a lot to learn.”

BRENDAN GAUGHAN, No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino Toyota Camry, Rusty Wallace Racing

Finished: 11th

How has your team adjusted to these new cars?

“We just need to get more time with the engineers with these cars and get the information. We are trying our best. The hard part is finding the time with the manpower. Every little bit we get shows and we’ve come since Daytona to Michigan to Richmond, we have come a long way. We had the chance at a top-10 tonight, but we ended up 11th. We just want to be better. For what we have at the moment, we’re pretty darn happy. We came from a lap down and green flag stops. It was a good night.”

How was your car tonight?

“It was pretty good. We were just a little too tight at some points with a little bit of a loose swing in it when you tried to pin to the bottom. Looking around, a lot of guys looked like that. Our Toyota is about the same as everybody else’s. We just need to get the front end to turn a little bit better without losing our rear grip.”

Leffler on racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway

“Charlotte Motor Speedway provides some really fun racing. With the fast speeds and three-wide racing, it’s a lot of fun. We all consider Charlotte to be our hometown track and, even though most of us are not from here, this is a place we have all made our home. This will be the first time we have raced the ‘new car’ here and I’m looking forward to it. This Great Clips team has run pretty well in these ‘new cars’ so I feel like we have a shot to be a strong contender on Friday night. Braun Racing already has two wins here and we are hoping to make it three this weekend in the Dollar General 300.”

Camping World 300

October 9, 2010

· Auto Club Speedway, by the numbers… Leffler has not exactly been lucky at his home track, Auto Club Speedway, but he looks to turn that around this weekend. In 13 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) starts at the two-mile oval, he has logged just two top-10 finishes. His best performance was a seventh-place finish in 2005. He has one pole to his credit, dating back to the 2004 season.

· Home Sweet Home for Leffler… After spending a couple of days in Las Vegas, you can count on the Long Beach, Calif.-native’s first stop after arriving in California this week to be the nearest In ‘N Out Burger. Next, he may make a stop at one of his favorite stomping grounds, Redondo Beach, to spend time with family friends. After a Friday night dinner with a group of Great Clips franchisees, he will head to Auto Club Speedway, where he is vying for the win at his home track!

· Braun Racing acquired by Turner Motorsports… It was recently announced that Turner Motorsports acquired select assets of Braun Racing. The team will continue to operate as Braun Racing for the remainder of the 2010 season. Plans for Turner Motorsports in 2011 include fielding three entries in both the Camping World Truck Series and the Nationwide Series. The NNS driver lineup will be announced in October.

“This is a really fun race track. It’s wide-open pretty much all the way around and has multiple grooves so there is a lot of two and three-wide racing. You carry a lot of speed down the straight-aways and with the sweeping corners you can run around the bottom or you can run up high. You’re always searching for that groove where your car is the fastest.”

Leffler on making a return visit to his favorite coast

“I always look forward to the chance to get back to the west coast. With the hectic schedule we have all year I don’t get to see my family and friends out here as often as I would like. The two weekends we have racing out here each year gives me a chance to catch up with everybody. To win at this track would be a huge deal for me. Of course, you want to win every race, but you especially want that win in front of the home crowd with your family and friends cheering you on.”

Equipment Information

The No. 38 Great Clips team will hit the track with chassis #BR035 in this weekend’s Camping World 300. Chassis #035 has seen track time this season in events at Charlotte (7th), Darlington (5th), Texas (12th) and Las Vegas (12th).

“Kansas is a lot of fun because it has multiple grooves that allow for a lot of passing and three-wide racing. I have always qualified pretty well there and had some strong runs but just haven’t had the finishes to show for it. We are looking to change that this weekend. I got the very first Cup pole at Kansas back in 2001 and I also have a Truck pole there. I’d really like to go for the sweep and grab the Nationwide Series pole this weekend. Our intermediate program has been solid this year so I feel pretty confident going into this weekend that we have a very good shot at being a contender for the win!”

Equipment Information

The No. 38 Great Clips team will unload chassis #023 in this weekend’s Kansas Lottery 300. Leffler piloted chassis #023 in races at Chicagoland Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway, finishing fifth and seventh respectively.

Post-Race Notes & Quotes

Dover International Speedway – September 25, 2010

- Kyle Busch made NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) history when he won Saturday’s race at Delaware’s Dover International Speedway by becoming the all-time single-season race winner with 11 total victories.

- Busch led a race-high 192 (of 200) laps en route to his 30th NNS win behind the wheel of a Camry and 41st of his career.

- Busch has earned the most victories in a Toyota with 60 total Toyota wins in 229 starts (15 NSCS wins, 30 NNS wins and 15 NCWTS wins).

- Joey Logano started from the pole and led once for three laps at the one-mile oval, before finishing second to his Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) teammate, Busch.

- Camry drivers Reed Sorenson (fourth), Trevor Bayne (sixth) and Jason Leffler (eighth) also had top-10 finishes at Dover.
Other Toyota drivers in the field included Steve Wallace (12th), Brian Scott (13th), Michael Annett (15th), Brendan Gaughan (16th) and Josh Wise (39th).

- Nine Toyota drivers are in the top-15 in the unofficial NNS driver points following Dover – Busch (third), Bayne (seventh),
Wallace (eighth), Leffler (ninth), Logano (10th), Gaughan (11th), Annett (12th), Sorenson (13th) and Scott (14th).

KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 NOS Energy Drink Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finished: 1st

How strong was your race car today?

“I can’t say enough about the guys on this team – Joe Gibbs Racing guys do a phenomenal job. NOS Energy Drink, Z-Line
Designs, this Camry was flawless and really, really good. Unfortunately there at the end, I don’t know what happened, I don’t know if we had a wheel loose or what was going on. It started vibrating and shaking real bad. I wasn’t imagining things, it did happen.

That was worrying me quite a bit. I have to thank Gillette and Nationwide Insurance, of course Combo’s, Marquis Jets and all the guys that have made this thing possible. It’s really fun to come out here and love running these cars and winning with Jason Ratcliff and all these boys.”

What does it mean to break the single season win record in the Nationwide Series?

“It’s pretty spectacular to be associated with these guys and have these guys win with me. Leo’s (Thorson, car chief) here, it’s his first time in victory lane. I told him if I ever break 10 wins, you’re coming to victory lane. Sure enough, we did today and it’s cool to get a guy like that who for some reason just doesn’t like to come celebrate and says, ‘That’s what we’re here to do, we’re here to win races and not to celebrate’ Tonight we’re going to celebrate.”

Do you feel this win today will help you possibly win tomorrow’s Sprint Cup race?

“I’m certainly hoping that it pays due tomorrow too with our Interstate Batteries Camry. It was pretty good in practice.
Unfortunately, we’re kind of battling back and forth between tight and loose a little bit. Dave (Rogers, crew chief) and I were really communicating well on talking about things and really trying to strategize what we’re going to do. Learned quite a bit here today with this thing so I’ll take that knowledge and go back to Dave with it and talk to him tonight to see what we can work on to try to make sure that thing gets to victory lane.”

Did you consider pitting at the end of the race for the vibration?

“There was, for a second. I was like, ‘Man, what’s more important, this win right here for number 11 or a Cup championship.’ If it was a left-rear wheel and it would have fell off going into the corner, you would have one wail of a hit. These guys do a great job and they gave me awesome pit stops today so I can’t imagine that’s what it was. It would have been fun to come out here and race Joey (Logano) like that and to put on a good show in front of the fans and have him close in at the end. I know everybody was probably hoping he could have got me, but we stayed there today.”

Where does this record stack up to your other records in the series?

“It’s very cool and very fitting to come out here and beat one of the greats in Sam Ard and be able to put my win up there as number 11 – the most of all-time in a season. We still have more races to go. I’m looking forward to more wins, hopefully. This is the first time that we got one of the guys on our team to victory lane – he’s got superstitions or something. I told him that win number 11 he had to come to victory lane so he’s here today.”

How does this record compare to the sweep at Bristol Motor Speedway?

“It’s all good. You can’t really compare all of them. The first win I ever had in the Cup Series is big. The first win in Nationwide that I ever had is always cool. Every win that you get is always something else that you can just rack up and keep putting up on the shelf and keep adding your name to the record books with. For me, it’s all about going out there and trying to do it week in and week out and next week’s another week.”

Are you ever amazed at all the accomplishments you have at the age of 25?

“Not really. For myself, I like to go out there and come to think I could win every weekend. There’s those weekends that you don’t win and you’re a little disappointed and something didn’t go your way or you made a mistake or things happen on pit road. For where I am and where this team is this year and what we’ve been able to accomplish, I’m very fortunate to be where I’m at and couldn’t be happier for myself, for Jason (Ratcliff, crew chief) and all the guys at Joe Gibbs Racing that has been a part of this and has made this happen.”

What does it mean to break the record held by Sam Ard?

“It’s very special. Sam (Ard) is a great individual and was a great driver in his time. For myself to come out and be able to compete at that level and get as many wins in a season is hard enough to do. For where Sam Ard was in his day and for where we are today, I feel like a lot has changed in this sport and of course, it’s always challenging to go out there and get a win on a given weekend. For us to win 11 this year is very, very special to me and that’s why I say it should be so special to Jason (Ratcliff, crew chief) and all these guys on the team because they were all a part of it.”

JASON RATCLIFF, crew chief, No. 18 NOS Energy Drink Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

What does this day mean to you?

“This has been one day that we’ve been waiting for. Everybody’s worked extremely hard. There are so many people, I can’t thank them all. It would take me all night. Great group at Joe Gibbs Racing, the 18 team – the road crew, the pit crew, the engine shop, just everybody has a part of this and these 11 wins that we’ve been able to accomplish so far. I know it’s a huge accomplishment for Kyle (Busch). I’m really thankful to be a part of that. Great car today. We worked on it in practice and we felt like, looking back at our notes from last year, we knew what direction we needed to go, where we needed to end practice to be good for the day.

The car took off really good and I think that was our strong suit, that we were really good in the first 20 laps of a run. Once you get the first 20 laps under your belt, then the guys may close in on you, but not enough to get up there and pass you. Great job on pit road, we made some adjustments. We had a scare there on the last stop, after the big caution that threw debris all over the race track, we felt like we needed to pit and make sure that we didn’t have a flat. We had a right-rear tire on the wall and we were fixing to put on the car and all of the sudden we noticed that it had a slow leak in it. We had to regroup really quick and put a set of scuffs on the right side and adjust some air pressures, trying to figure out what that was going to do to the car. It worked out, great day, again great day by Kyle and great accomplishment for all of us.”

JOEY LOGANO, No. 20 GameStop Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finished: 2nd

Did it take some time for your car to come around in the race?

“It took us a while, as usual, to take off on the restart. I don’t know why, the last few races we just don’t take off on restarts good.

We give them a big lead and we try to make that up and that makes it impossible. I think everyone saw in the last few laps there, we were coming. We had a shot at it, just a little too late, again. It kind of stinks, but the guys did a good job adjusting the car and I think we were a third-place car most of the race and we got up to second and maybe a first-place car there at the end. Good pit stops that kept us up there when we needed it. We’re second and that stinks, but it’s better than third. We’ll move on with it.”

REED SORENSON, No. 32 Dollar General Toyota Camry, Braun Racing

Finished: 4th

How was your race today?

“It was a pretty smooth day. We had a fast car, we qualified good and ran really good all day — real consistent. We had the same problem all day and the first stop we weren’t able to do what we wanted to do and then after that we got it better and just needed a whole other step. Everybody on the Dollar General team did a great job, the pit crew did great and a nice top-five finish for us. We were just loose all day. We got it better, but we needed another step to what we did. We did everything we could and just needed a longer race.”

How did your race car perform on the long runs in the race?

“I liked my car a lot on long runs. I felt like that first long run, we passed the 22 (Brad Keselowski) and my car felt really good at that point. I was kind of hoping that we would be able to stick with them a little bit better on the get-go and I knew we had a good enough car at the end. We’ll just get a little bit better and come back.”

TREVOR BAYNE, No. 99 Out! Pet Care Toyota Camry, Diamond-Waltrip Racing

No. 38 Great Clips Toyota Camry

Dover International Speedway

Dover 200

September 25, 2010

· Dover is the Site of Leffler’s First Career NASCAR Win… Leffler’s first NASCAR victory occurred at Dover International Speedway (DIS) in 2003. After starting 10th in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, Leffler led for 57 laps before claiming the win!

· Leffler at Dover, by the numbers… In 14 Nationwide Series starts at Dover, Leffler has four top-five and eight top-10 finishes. His best performance at the one-mile, concrete track came in 2005 when he started 12th and finished 3rd in Braun Racing’s No. 32 entry. He has posted top-10 finishes in his last four visits to the track.

· Leffler in the loop at Dover… According to NASCAR’s Loop Data Statistics, Leffler is ranked in the top-10 in a number of categories including Closers (2nd) and Laps in the Top-15 (2nd). Leffler leads the field in passing with the breakdown as follows: Passes on the Frontstretch (2nd) and Passes on the Backstretch (7th). He is ranked 1st in passing in turns one and four.

· Did you know? Great Clips is the longest-running sponsor in the Nationwide Series… Minneapolis-based Great Clips, Inc. came onto the scene in 2001 as a primary sponsor of Akins Motorsports No. 38 entry, then driven by Christian Elder. Kasey Kahne drove the car from 2003-2005, before Leffler took over the wheel in 2006.

Jason Leffler

Leffler on “The Monster Mile”

“The Dover race is always an exciting one. Everyone compares it to a Bristol on steroids and that’s a pretty good description for it. There’s a good reason they call it the “Monster Mile.” For a one-mile track, it’s really fast. It’s also pretty narrow, so there’s not a whole lot of room to negotiate through the turns. Being able to charge hard into the corners so you can keep up your momentum on the straight-aways is really important.

It’s a place where to be fast, you have to be right on the edge with your set-up. This has been a good track to me over the years. My first NASCAR win came at Dover in 2003 when I was racing in the Truck Series, so I have good memories there but I’d certainly like to make a new memory with a win this weekend in the 38 Great Clips Camry!”

Equipment Information

The No. 38 Great Clips team will unload chassis #025 in this weekend’s Dover 200. Leffler has driven this chassis to two top-five finishes this season, including a 3rd-place at Iowa Speedway and a second-place at Bristol Motor Speedway in August.

No. 38 Great Clips Toyota Camry

Richmond International Raceway

Virginia 529 College Savings 250

September 10, 2010

· Leffler back in the seat of the No. 38 Great Clips Camry this weekend… This weekend at Richmond International Raceway (RIR), Leffler will return to the seat of the No. 38 machine. Leffler is splitting his time this season, piloting Braun Racing’s No. 10 Camry (eight races) and No. 38 Camry (27 races), to compete for the 2010 driver championship.

· Leffler reaches a milestone in Richmond… This weekend, Leffler will make his 250th career NASCAR Nationwide Series start. Leffler made his series debut at O’Reilly Raceway Park in 1999. The Long Beach, Calif.-native has recorded two wins (Nashville and ORP), has accumulated 39 top-five and 89 top-10 finishes and has led for a total of 604 laps.

· Richmond International Raceway marks the third race with the Nationwide Series’ “new car”… This weekend will mark the third appearance of the “new car” and its first at a short track. In preparation, the teams will participate in an all-day test session on Thursday.

RIR, by the numbers…

- Leffler has 15 NNS starts at RIR with two top-five and three top-10 finishes as well as one pole to his credit (spring, 2006). His best performance came in the fall of 2004 when he started 14th and finished fourth. He is ranked 10th in number of laps led at the ¾-mile oval with 82.

- Leffler also has one NASCAR Camping World Truck Series pole at Richmond to his credit. In his only NCWTS start at RIR (2002), Leffler captured the pole and led for 85 laps before finishing 12th.

- Leffler’s In the Loop… According to NASCAR’s Loop Data Statistics, Leffler is ranked in the top-10 in a number of categories at Richmond including Closers (5th), Fastest Laps Run (10th), Green Flag Passes (5th), Laps Led (10th), Laps in the Top-15 (8th) and Quality Passes (8rd).

· Did you know? Great Clips is the longest-running sponsor in the Nationwide Series…Minneapolis-based Great Clips, Inc. came onto the scene in 2001 as a primary sponsor of Akins Motorsports No. 38 entry, then driven by Christian Elder. Kasey Kahne drove the car from 2003-2005, before Leffler took over the wheel in 2006.

Leffler on Richmond International Raceway

“Richmond is a great track that has a short-track feel but has speedway characteristics with the speeds you are carrying. There are always two grooves of racing so there’s a lot of side-by-side beating and banging which is fun as a driver and exciting for the fans.

It’s really important to keep the fenders on the car in order to get a good finish because the cars are a little bit more aero- sensitive, even at a short-track like Richmond. I’m ready to get back to some short track racing and really excited to do it in one of the “new cars.” I am a big proponent of the “new cars” and think they are a lot of fun and make for good racing.”

Equipment Information

The No. 38 Great Clips team will hit the track with chassis #BR104 in this weekend’s Virginia 529 College Savings 250. This chassis last saw track time at Michigan International Speedway where Leffler started fourth before suffering a fuel pump failure that relegated him to a 34th-place finish.

Post-Race Notes & Quotes

Atlanta Motor Speedway – September 4, 2010

- Kyle Busch (second-place) was the highest-finishing Toyota driver in Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race
at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

- Camry drivers Joey Logano (sixth) and Jason Leffler (seventh) also had top-10 finishes at the 1.5-mile Georgia oval.
Camry drivers Busch (74 laps) and Kasey Kahne (17 laps) combined to lead 91 of the 195 race laps. Busch led the most
laps in tonight’s race.

- Kahne started tonight’s race from the pole position marking his first NNS pole this season, eighth in NNS and 44th for
Toyota since joining the series in 2007.

- Other Toyota drivers in the field included Brendan Gaughan (16th), Kasey Kahne (19th), Michael Annett (21st), Trevor
Bayne (24th), Brian Scott (28th), Reed Sorenson (34th) and Steve Wallace (35th).

- Nine Toyota drivers are in the top-15 in the unofficial NNS driver points following Atlanta – Busch (third), Bayne
(seventh), Wallace (eighth), Logano (ninth), Leffler (10th), Gaughan (11th), Annett (12th), Scott (13th) and Sorenson
(15th).

Kyle Busch, No. 18 NOS Energy Drink Toyota

KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 NOS Energy Drink Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finished: 2nd

How did your race unfold?

“Unfortunately, it didn’t quite fold the way we wanted it to, but we had a fast NOS Energy Drink Camry. Real proud of the guys. They gave me a car that could contend for the win. Just didn’t quite have enough there on the short run to keep up with him (Jamie McMurray), once we got about 25 or 30 laps on it – we could really start reeling him in and pass him. Typically, it’s always a long run car that wins here. (Kevin) Harvick beat me last year with a long run car. We were real fast on the short runs, but that wasn’t the case tonight.”

Did you have anything for the leader the last few laps?

“No. I think that was actually the 88 (Jamie McMurray) car going away. My car seemed to run the same pace most of the night. I really couldn’t do a whole lot to make it go any faster. I could slow it down a little bit, but I really couldn’t make it go any faster. So, if I hit my marks every single lap, which I might have missed two laps in the last 20 laps — but that’s all I had. So, we came up short tonight. Unfortunately, the race is five laps shorter than a typical mile-and-a-half, but I think probably we could have had him if, there’s always an if in this sport, I guess.”

Joey Logano - Photo Credit: Motorsports Images and Archives

JOEY LOGANO, No. 20 GameStop Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finished: 6th

How did your car handle in tonight’s race?

“We struggled from when we unloaded today. I don’t know – we just weren’t that good. Some of it is probably that I just don’t have this place figured out completely. Some of it is just that we don’t go on restarts lately. I don’t know why that is, but the last two or three races, restarts have been terrible. Last year we used to do good on them. Something we need to look at and figure out. It’s been a real problem. We’ll get it. We knew going into today that it was going to be a rough one because this is probably one of our worst race tracks. It’s sixth and we’ll move on.”

Jason Leffler

JASON LEFFLER, No. 10 ABF Freight Toyota Camry, Braun Racing

Finished: 7th

Are you pleased with the seventh-place finish?

“It was good, it was a good, solid night. Eddie Pardue (crew chief) and the guys did a good job. We finished seventh and that is good. We had a bad pit stop there on that last pit stop and that got us behind. We couldn’t make up for it. All in all, the guys have been working their butts off and we’ve had fast cars. We’ve just had a hard time getting to the end of these races. I guess we should just be grateful that we got to the end tonight.”

How did tire strategy play into tonight’s race?

“That one run where we swapped where about half the field was on a different strategy that was wild. We were passing cars so fast. That was the way it used to be about 10 years ago when the tires were soft everywhere. It was kind of fun. Tire strategy was pretty important and we had a good run today – I’m happy with that.”

BRENDAN GAUGHAN, No. 62 Atlanta Title Loans Toyota Camry, Rusty Wallace Racing

Finished: 19th

How did your car handle in tonight’s race?

“We had a really fast Great Clips Toyota and just got really loose there for a while. We kind of got that fixed and then I
rubbed (Brad) Keselowski and just got too close to him and rubbed my right front. Then the tire went down and that kind of ruined our race. We had a top-five car, we just didn’t finish there.”
