The 19-year-old driver races fulltime in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and is the youngest driver to ever lead the truck series point standings. In eight truck series starts, the Alpine, Calif., native has one pole, two top-five and five top-10 finishes. Two-time K&N Pro Series East champion Ryan Truex will be back behind the wheel at Chicago.

COLE WHITT QUOTES

WHITT ON HIS FIRST NATIONWIDE RACE AT CHARLOTTE: “All the Pastrana-Waltrip guys have been awesome to work with, and all their equipment has been super nice. It’s nice to jump into a car like that. It just gives you some confidence going into the weekend. More than anything I am excited to see how the new Nationwide Series cars drive. I have two Nationwide starts but it was in the old car. I don’t know what to expect from the new car, but I am pretty sure Jerry Baxter (crew chief) will have the car pretty good right off the truck. It’s just a matter of me getting used to the track. Luckily, driving the truck race last week should help me a lot, and hopefully I will be able to carry that experience over to this weekend.”

ON WHAT HE LEARNED FROM THE TRUCK RACE: “More than anything, I learned you have to have a car you can race at the end. A lot of the guys were racing really hard at the start of the race, and it really didn’t get them anywhere. We kind of rode out the beginning of the race and waited for the end. This is one of the longer races for the Nationwide Series, so it’s going to be a long race. More than anything we need to get the car right for the end of the race and keep the fenders on it. The last 50 laps is really the time to let it all hang out.”

NOTES OF INTEREST

· Michael Waltrip Racing and Pastrana-Waltrip Racing will hold its annual Fan Day on May 25 in Cornelius, N.C. Truex will sign autographs starting 5:30 p.m. Michael Waltrip along with David Reutimann, Bobby Labonte, Martin Truex and Brett Moffitt will also be in attendance. Visit: www.michaelwaltrip.com for event details.

· Michael Waltrip Racing, Gary and Blake Bechtel and Travis Pastrana own Pastrana-Waltrip Racing that fields Toyota Camrys out of the MWR shop in Cornelius, N.C. The Bechtels’ have owned cars in the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series since 1990. The Morgan Hill, Calif. residents’ teams have visited victory lane 10 times in the Nationwide Series.

· Whitt finished 15th in his Nationwide debut last November at Phoenix and followed up with a 17th-place showing a week later at Homestead.

· Whitt is the only Camping World Truck Series driver to finish on the lead lap in all seven races this season, all at tracks he has never raced. He has completed 1,134 laps, 89% of those coming inside the top-15.

Post-Race Notes & Quotes

Homestead-Miami Speedway – November 21, 2009

- Camry driver Kyle Busch earned the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) championship when he took the green flag on
Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The championship marks the first NNS driver’s title for Toyota and the first
NASCAR championship for the 24-year old Las Vegas-native.

- Busch won his ninth NNS race of 2009 and 15th for Toyota this season when he took the checkered flag at Homestead-Miami
Speedway. Busch also become the first driver since 1983 (Sam Ard) to win both the season-finale and the championship in the
series.

- Camry drivers Joey Logano (fourth), Denny Hamlin (fifth), David Reutimann (sixth) and Scott Speed (ninth) also earned top-10
finishes.

- Jason Leffler (18th), Michael Annett (21st), Justin Marks (32nd) and Chase Miller (37th) were also in the field.

- This season, Camry drivers had 15 victories, 68 top-fives, 127 top-10 finishes, and have led 3,854 laps.

<img src="http://www.catchfence.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/2009-Homestead-Nov-NNS-Kyle-Busch-in-Victory-Lane.jpg" alt="Kyle Busch, driver of the No. 18 Z-Line Designs Toyota, celebrates in Victory Lane after winning Saturday's NASCAR Nationwide Series and the Ford 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, his 30th win in 173 NASCAR Nationwide Series races.
Finishing Position: 1st

What are you thinking after winning the race and the championship?

“It’s been a while since that’s been done. I don’t mean to be selfish, but that’s the way for these guys to go out. They deserve it. This whole team and all these guys that work so hard on this Z-Line Designs Camry. I can’t thank Toyota enough, I can’t thank Z-Line, NOS Energy Drink, the Nationwide Series, thank all the fans – not just here in Homestead, but across NASCAR’s nation here. Of course Jim (Sexton, president and CEO of Z-Line Designs) and Monica (Sexton) are here to help us celebrate tonight and Marquis
Jets, Gillette and everybody that’s been on board and a part of our program this year. This is huge. My mom and dad are here tonight, my brother came up to me before the race knowing that all we had to do was take the green flag – this is cool. I wish I could have been with Kurt (Busch) in 2004 winning the championship. This one here means a whole lot for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) and
everybody at JGR – all the guys that work so hard at building these things, not just in the Nationwide shop, but in the Cup shop, the
fab shop, everybody. Joe and J.D. Gibbs and everybody is here – Norm Miller from Interstate Batteries, it’s just great.”

What were your thoughts with Carl Edwards coming on fresh tires on the last lap?

“It was a little nerving, I knew Carl (Edwards) would be coming with fresh tires – he was really fast. I was hoping Jeff Burton could
hold him up long enough to help burn his tires off a little bit before he got free and chased me down. I was just trying to hit my marks every single time. I finally found something, I couldn’t find it all race long and in the broadcast I said I couldn’t find anything.
Finally, with about 40 (laps) to go I found something there and kept running in that lane.

It prevailed and it paid off for us. I was able to keep my momentum going and keep those guys behind me. He bonsaied me there and I wasn’t quite sure if we were going to connect there. What a close race that might have been for the fans to watch and everybody – I’m sure it was exciting on TV knowing Carl (Edwards) and what he did at Kansas last year. Glad he missed us and we were able to come out on top.”

<img src="http://www.catchfence.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/2009-Homestead-Nov-NNS-Kyle-Busch-drives-with-championship-flag_thumb.jpg" alt="After receiving the checkered flag for winning Saturday's NASCAR Nationwide Ford 300, Kyle Busch, driver of the No. 18 Z-Line Designs Toyota, celebrates by waving the championship flag in the car around Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, Fla. (Photo Credit: Jason Smith / Getty Images for NASCAR)

How was tonight’s race for you?

“It was a tough race for sure. We weren’t the best car here for a long time. All the guys made some great race calls, Jason (Ratcliff,
crew chief) and everybody else. That’s why we’re a championship team and that’s why we made it here tonight is because these guys can fight through stuff and we made some adjustments to the car that really brought it to life and I was able to pass those guys on that restart and get up towards the front and lead those laps. When that last caution came out, I knew Carl (Edwards) was going to try to do the same thing that I just did. I was worried that he was going to get back to us.”

Does this championship make running races in all three series worth it?

“It is, it’s definitely worth it. I love being able to race as many vehicles as I can and this championship right here defines all that and
being able to race as many vehicles as I can race and still be able to produce – I feel like a lot of these tracks I’m good at. About every track I’m good at. There’s not really a track that I’m super at and then a track that I’m not that good at. I’m just good at all of them. Being able to do that and work with these guys and make our cars better.”

Where does this rank in your career accomplishments?

“This is the biggest one – this is it. It hasn’t sunk in yet and it probably won’t for a couple of days. Carl (Edwards) told me before the race, ‘When I won the championship it didn’t mean that much to me the day of, but once it got to the following season and you were called champ or reigning champ or whatever, it really means a lot and really hits home.’ Thank Nationwide for the series and for
helping support the series and all they’ve done for us. It’s a great year and it’s a tribute to all these guys. Everybody at JGR (Joe
Gibbs Racing) and all these guys on this team – everybody at the fab shop, the engine shop, chassis shop. These cars are phenomenal and it takes a lot of work in order to get these done. We’ve had a really strong season and those guys behind us had a really strong season as well – it wasn’t that we just barely lucked into this thing. We won it and we won it in good style.”

What does it mean that the last series champion to win the final race was Sam Ard?

“That brings a smile to my face, just the relationship that I’ve had with Sam (Ard) and what I’ve been able to talk to him so far.

That’s the history of this sport – that’s what those guys are all about. Sam (Ard) and I have some records together and I’ve broken some of his and I’ve broken other people’s records, but none of them mean as much as being able to win a race at the season finale and really solidify your championship and put icing on the cake.”

JASON RATCLIFF, crew chief, No. 18 Z-Line Designs Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

How does it feel to be a championship crew chief?

“Incredible. When you stop and think about it, it becomes a little bit emotional. To think about what we’re able to do – the blessings
that we’ve been blessed with all season long. Kyle (Busch) and this whole team, what we’ve been able to accomplish as a group. I
don’t know, I don’t have the words for it right now. It’s just awesome to be able to put those goals up there in front of us and go out there and achieve them. We did everything we set out to do and then even more than we expected. I don’t know if we can ever have another season like this, but we’re going to try.”

What can you say about the records that Kyle Busch has broken this season?

“He’s (Kyle Busch) incredible. He deserves every record he broke and his name deserves to by it. We’re just glad that we could be a
part of it. This group of guys, I’ve been working with this group for more than four years now and they just never quit. They just keep on, keep on, keep on. We kind of challenge each other. Kyle (Busch) challenges us when we finish second and then we challenge him in situations like tonight where we make a decent call and get him out front and then he’s got to step up on the wheel and show what he’s all about.”

JOE GIBBS, team owner, Joe Gibbs Racing

What does it mean to win the Nationwide championship?

“I think these are things that — the great things in life are the memories that you have and that you don’t forget, and I remember
standing out one time after a Super Bowl, and I turned to Charles Manning, and he said to me, the thrill was getting here, everything
that you had to do to get here, all the times you’ve fought, and you have a wreck, you have this, you have that, things that happen. The thing I told Kyle before we started, to me what impresses me is this car ran great all year. I mean, super all year, and we went all the way to the last race before we could win the championship. So it shows you how hard this is.”

J.D. GIBBS, president, Joe Gibbs Racing

What does this championship mean for your team?

“This is such a big deal for us and these are so hard to come by. I think Nationwide, Cup – it’s just a blessing for us. To watch Kyle
(Busch) and the way he worked through the season and worked with Jason (Ratcliff, crew chief) and all the guys coming together -
that’s a big deal. For us, we’ll celebrate this and this one is going to last quite a while.”

What has Kyle Busch learned about winning championships?

“What he’s kind of learned over here, we’ve taken a lot of seconds, a lot of thirds – they’re not fun to take. On the Cup side, that’s
taking your fifths, your 10ths, and you just learn that when you’re running for a championship there’s certain things that are required
there.”

No. 20 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Toyota Camry

JOEY LOGANO, No. 20 GameStop Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 4th

How was tonight’s race for you?

“It was a rough one. We weren’t good enough to win by no means. We got out in the lead for a little bit, but I knew we weren’t good enough to be up there. We finished fourth and that’s where we ran. I think that’s where we should have run. I felt like there at the end when the leaders pitted and we stayed out, I said, ‘We ain’t going to win the way we are so let’s go for the gold and try something different.’ That didn’t work for us so then we got the last caution and we tried to go for the gold again and get some new tires. My race car just wasn’t fast enough, we were digging hard. Everyone did a great job, just missed it by a little bit. Carl (Edwards) and Kyle (Busch) were really the best cars, 29 (Jeff Burton) was really good too. We’ll take it. We ran fourth, we finished fourth so it is what it is.”

Finishing Position: 5th

How good was your race car tonight?

“We just had a crack in the header right there when we were trying to get our lap back and it just wore through and killed our
horsepower. All in all it is still a great day for us. I felt like we had something for those guys but that horsepower loss that we had
through the exhaust it really hurt us there towards the end.”

What happened when you got into the back of Brad Keselowski?

“Yeah, the sun was real bad at that point and I really couldn’t see a whole lot. I think the fans right there, they got their money’s worth today.”

What was your plan at the beginning of the race?

“I was just trying to worry him (Brad Keselowski) to death and force him into a mistake and that’s what he did. As soon as I got
behind him he drove in really, really deep and I said, ‘He’ll never make the corner.’ And he ended up getting into the wall. To me it’s
a victory for all of the guys who he’s taken out over the last 10 weeks. There’s a lot of guys — I was out there and a lot of guys took swipes at him and missed today so to be honest with you I’m surprised he was even able to drive it in.”

Are you disappointed with the penalty that NASCAR gave you?

“No, not at all. That’s the thing, if you do something obvious and blatant which I did you would expect a penalty and I’ll be honest
with you I thought it was going to be two laps. So one lap I wasn’t feeling too bad about. I knew we could come back from it and our car was still in one piece. That’s the thing, I wouldn’t try to cause harm to anyone and I knew spinning him (Brad Keselowski) at the point that I was that he wasn’t going to get hurt and his car wasn’t going to get hurt. I just wanted to make his day a little bit tougher.”

How did your car handle during the race?

“It was a long day. We fought and we fought to try to get it and those long green-flag runs just really hurt us to getting the track
position that we needed. Luckily we had a caution at the end that helped with that and we just had too many issues. That mechanical failure with the headers that cracked just killed our horsepower. So when we needed all of the horsepower that we needed at the end it just couldn’t keep up with those guys.”

green-white-checkered finish in Nationwide Series history at Auto Club Speedway.
Because other than that, little else came out of the Copart 300.

Speed’s six-race streak of consecutive top-10 finishes ended Saturday with a
27th-place showing in his first Nationwide start at the 2-mile, D-shaped oval.

While many of the lead-lap cars stayed out under the eighth caution, Speed pitted
the No. 99 Red Bull Toyota for a series of adjustments aimed at tightening the car
and restarted 27th with 16 laps to go. He drove back inside the top 15 within a
handful of laps and was flirting with another top-10 finish before the tread
shimmied its way off the left-rear tire, sending Speed spinning backwards into the
turn two wall four laps from the finish.

As Speed nursed his car back to pit road, the field prepared for overtime. The 10th
caution flag extended the race distance by two laps. After the crew’s quick fix,
Speed restarted 29th and picked two spots to finish 27th – marking the ninth
consecutive race that Speed finished on the lead lap.

Speed qualified in the top five (fourth) for the sixth time in 12 tries this season.
He’ll team up with Michael Waltrip Racing for one more Nationwide race, the Nov.
21 finale at Homestead.

TOYOTA NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS)

Post-Race Notes & Quotes

Auto Club Speedway – October 10, 2009

- Joey Logano won his fifth race of 2009 in Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) event at Auto Club Speedway.
Logano started from the pole position and led three times for 20 (of 152) laps — including the final seven laps.
Camry driver Brian Vickers (second) also earned a top-five at California.

- Camry driver Michael Annett (sixth) earned his career best result on Saturday.

- Toyota drivers Trevor Bayne (19th), Brian Scott (23rd), Scott Speed (27th), Jason Leffler (30th) and Chase Miller were
also in the field.

- Kyle Busch (31st), who has had a fever this weekend, was replaced in the No. 18 Camry by Denny Hamlin on lap 39. The
No. 18 Camry led 66 (of 152) laps today.

- Busch continues to lead the NNS point standings following California and is now 155 points ahead of second-place Carl
Edwards. Leffler (fourth) is also in the top-five in points after 30 of 35 races.

JOEY LOGANO, No. 20 GameStop Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 1st

What happened when you made contact with Greg Biffle early in the race?

“I didn’t think we had a shot at (the win) after (Greg) Biffle tried to put us in the wall. Apparently, that’s the only way he
thought he could beat us, but you can’t put this 20 thing down. I can tell you what, we never quit — kept digging all day. I
definitely didn’t think we had a shot at it. That was just amazing. These guys are amazing. I have to thank the fans, thank
GameStop, Sport Clips, Z-Line, Coca-Cola and all the guys back at the shop that put this thing together. It’s an awesome race
car and it’s fun to race. That was the most fun race I’ve ever had in my life and I didn’t think I had a shot at this. I tried to
salvage a top-10 out of it to bring home a ‘W.’”

Was this victory a team effort?

“I tell you what, that was the coolest race of my life. The coolest by no doubt in my mind — that was awesome. I never, I went
to the point in that race that I was going to try to salvage a top-10 out of it and all of a sudden I’m sitting third and all of a
sudden I took the lead and I thought, ‘I got a shot at this thing!’ I can’t believe it. That was cool after we get put in the fence
and almost ruined our day we were able to fight back at a track like this — that was really cool and aero means a lot. It really
hurt my car a lot. I think this is the best way to get them back.”

Were you racing today like this was a short track and not a two-mile oval?

“There’s a lot of wreck on the race cars. That’s the cool thing about this race track, the top-five cars were running single file
on that straight away and they go in the corner and they fan out four wide. It’s all trying to come off the corners where all the
trouble is and to see all that happening. I didn’t think we had a shot at it and we made that last pit stop there at the end, get
some fresh tires on it and I was wondering how good they were going to hold off. Apparently, it was just enough.”

How do you feel about picking up the win today?

“It was crazy to say the least. The start of the race, I felt like we were okay. We needed to do a little bit of work to the car, but
I felt like we had a really good car. On the restart, the 16 (Greg Biffle) got underneath us and decided to fence me down the
straight away for no apparent reason. I was pretty livid about that. Dave (Rogers, crew chief) was trying to calm me down.
Eventually, we were able to work on the car. I tried to get it back to what we had. It was t ough to get there. It seemed like it
never was the same for the rest of the race. We were in a late race pit stop, got some new tires on that thing and we were able
to drive back to the front. That was crazy. That was not the race I thought I was going to have a shot at winning today. I was
sitting back there in 15th and I was hoping I could salvage a top-10 out of this thing. All of a sudden, I was passing for the
lead. That was really cool. I had a blast doing it.”

How does your anger affect you on the race track?

“Dave (Rogers, crew chief) tries to tick me off every race, and he didn’t have to do that this time (laughter). I don’t know why.
I guess I dig a little harder. I think it happens to a lot of people. You get mad and you find a little bit more. The best revenge
is putting that thing in victory lane.”

DAVE ROGERS, crew chief, No. 20 GameStop Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

What were your thoughts on today’s race?

“The same thing I said all week, Joey Logano has so much heart and it proves that you never give up, no matter what you’re
doing. You just keep digging and get the best out of it. I’m really proud of this GameStop Toyota race team. All the guys on
pit road — making the adjustments, working on the body. Our spotter, Mark Robinson, really kept Joey (Logano) and I calm
down at points and then Joey just driving the wheels off at the end.”

J.D. GIBBS, President, No. 20 GameStop Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

What are your thoughts on today’s race?

“It kind of went back and forth. Obviously, real discouraging for Denny (Hamlin) and Kyle (Busch) to be running that well
and have the issue at the end. That was a heartbreaker. I’m figuring like Joey (Logano) said, if we get a 10th out of it with the
20, then that would be pretty good. We watched and you were 10th, then seventh, you’re fifth, you’re fourth and then I was
thinking we might have a shot at this thing. To watch him come through and do that was really special. We were trying to
figure out — I have to watch it again just to figure out how he did it because that was impressive.”

BRIAN VICKERS, No. 32 Dollar General Stores Toyota Camry, Braun Racing

Finishing Position: 2nd

How was your race today?

“It was a good run. I don’t think we were ever — there was one run where we got out there and led for a while towards the end
of a run. We were better on the long runs than we were on the short runs. We had a good car. Probably the two best cars were
the 18 (Kyle Busch) and the 20 (Joey Logano). They just had a little bit more and that’s kind of been the trend with those guys.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m so proud of the effort by Braun Racing, Dollar General and Toyota, TRD — the whole group of guys
on the team for the resources and what they have. I think they do a tremendous job with them. Obviously, battling two Cup-
affiliated teams with programs that are run like Cup teams, it’s difficult, it’s challenging.

Obviously, those are two really good cars and they show it every week. I think we fought them hard. We had a good run, we raced with them all day long. We took a chance there at the end and pitted and we figured more guys were going to come in behind us and they didn’t so we kind of had an uphill battle to get our track position back. By the time we got there at the end of the race, starting fourth, I felt like we had a good shot at it even though I felt the 20 (Joey Logano) car was a little bit better.

I thought having newer tires would be better off, but I didn’t realize until after the race was over that they told me he pitted two or three laps or six laps I guess prior to that caution (before we pitted). Some of those laps were caution, some were green flag but, nonetheless, he had fairly new tires. The difference between him and I wasn’t significant. I went down in turn one right behind him and I wanted to go to the outside, that was my first reaction, thinking he had older tires because I figured he’d wash out and I’d get under him and pass him coming off the corner. He just booted on through there and we got tight and he got away from us and that’s that.”

Why are these races so wild?

“I think its two things. One, these tracks have a bad rap because as you saw today, they can produce amazing races. You have
a race track where we can run all the way against the wall, we can run on the white line and we can run everywhere in between.
There was one stint there where we were running practically four and five wide for the lead, all picking different leads going
through the corner and then coming back together in the straight aways. I think it makes for great racing. When the tracks
wore out and slick than you can move around and find grip. The double-file restarts to the next point adds a lot to that. It
basically puts you side-by-side and puts you back on even playing field instead of single-file dealing with aero issues. I think
that adds a lot to it as well.”

Did you have something for Joey Logano at the end of the race?

“I felt like we did. I didn’t realize he had tires as well. I thought he was on the same tires as the rest of the guys that didn’t pit
when we came in. Knowing that, I probably would have picked the outside, or I would have tried to pass him on the outside
instead of running behind him. I figured with older tires he’d ride down in there and have to slow down or slide up the race
track a little bit and I’d get under him coming off like I did a lot of the other guys. That was my fault, I should have known
that, I should have asked at least. I just didn’t think he had tires and obviously he already knew he had a good car but I felt like
us having tires would have made the difference, but like I said I didn’t know he was in the same boat.”

MICHAEL ANNETT, No. 15 Germain Toyota Camry, Germain Racing

Finishing Position: 6th

How do you feel about your career-best finish?

“We were definitely happy, that was our best finish of the year, so far. Our team just keeps getting better. My guys impressed
me this weekend. I got a younger crew chief (Ryan Fugle), this is only his second race as my crew chief. We unloaded not
even close and they battled the first two hours of practice getting it and getting it and then that last half hour we thought we had
a good car. We came out today and everything we did to tighten it up yesterday and we couldn’t make a corner because we
were so tight. We just couldn’t get free enough.”

Was the outside line important in today’s race?

“One thing I know today was how important it was to be in the outside line of a restart. If I was on the bottom I knew that I
was probably going to lose two or three spots and we battled that whole run to get them back. But when we could restart on the
outside, we could get two or three spots going down the backstretch and get two more through the run. That was real important
for us. You could see the cars that grew some on the bottom and still could dig off and keep the momentum but that was one
thing we struggled with. I can’t say enough about Germain Racing. We’re out there without a sponsor on the car and digging
and getting the best finishes we’ve had so I can’t be happier.”

TREVOR BAYNE, No. 11 Ridemakerz.com Toyota Camry, CJM Racing

Finishing Position: 19th

BRIAN SCOTT, No. 10 AccuDoc Toyota Camry, Braun Racing

Finishing Position: 23rd

SCOTT SPEED, No. 99 Red Bull Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing

Finishing Position: 27th

JASON LEFFLER, No. 38 Great Clips Toyota Camry, Braun Racing

Finishing Position: 30th

KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 Z-Line Designs Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 31st

*** Note: Kyle Busch was replaced by Denny Hamlin during a lap 39 pit stop. ***

Why did you get out of your race car?

“It’s just temperature. When I get in the car and I get hot, I start not being able to see exactly straight. The car was really good
though. The Z-Line Toyota was awesome. Unfortunately I didn’t feel it was in my best interest or the team’s best interest to
win this race to keep going. I probably could have. More laps and getting hotter in the seat probably would have diminished
my performance a little.”

How concerned are you about racing 500 miles here tomorrow?

“That’s another problem, is wanting to get out today in order to compete in the full 500 miles tomorrow. Fortunately, today
we’ve got Denny Hamlin who’s a great relief driver that can drive for me. I can try to go back now and rest up, cool down to
try to get this fever under control and be ready for tomorrow.”

DENNY HAMLIN, relief driver, No. 18 Z-Line Designs Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

What happened at the end of the race?

“We were running right in the middle right there and I throttled up off the corner. The 88 (Brad Keselowski), I guess was
having a push, and he was coming into the left rear. So, I was looking in my left side mirror — making sure he didn’t get into
us, and I was keeping my foot on the gas and the 16 (Geg Biffle) got a big run. Evidently, he got a pile on us late right there.
He was there. We just came up and I was trying — if I hold my line low the 88 (Brad Keselowski) ends up wrecking us anyway
off the corner. Either way, it was going to be a bad situation.”

Was this still Brad Keselowski and you battling it out?

“He races hard no matter what and he’s got a big chip on his shoulder — he races that way. It’s everyone going for a win right
there at the end.”

How was it driving Kyle Busch’s race car?

“It’s tough to get in anyone else’s race car, especially, I mean the wheel is different, the seat is different, the belts are different
– there’s nothing the same between us two as far as the stuff that we have on the inside. So, that part’s very hard. The feel of
the car — it was good out there at the end of the race. We just couldn’t seem to take off like we needed to. It just let those guys
get back to us. ”

current points leader Kyle Busch reeled off six consecutive top-10 finishes in his
first 11 starts. Nor did series greats Jeff Burton, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick,
Tommy Houston, Jack Ingram, Randy LaJoie, Mark Martin, Larry Pearson or
Speed’s Sprint Cup teammate, 2003 Nationwide champion Brian Vickers.

The 26-year-old Speed put another solid number on the board Saturday at Kansas
Speedway, finishing eighth in the Kansas Lottery 300. The last time Speed ended
up outside the top 10 was seven races ago when he finished 11th on May 23 at
Charlotte.

Speed qualified 11th, and as he’s done all season ran near – or in – the top five
until a pit road speeding penalty on lap 77 sent the No. 99 Red Bull Toyota to the
tail end of the longest line. He returned to the pits to top off the tank, restarted
16th and began his climb back to the top 10.

By lap 100, he was 14th. Twenty laps later, he was 11th, then ninth, seventh and
sixth. Two pit stops in the second half of the race just missed tightening up the
car coming off the corners, and Speed was eighth when the checkered flag waved.

“We had a good car all weekend,” Speed said. “We missed a few things and should
have had a top-three finish. We made good decisions and aim to continue to bring
home a solid finish next week in Toyota’s backyard.”

Speed’s next Nationwide stop will come this weekend at Auto Club Speedway in
Fontana, Calif. – not far from Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. in Torrance and Toyota
Racing Development in Costa Mesa. He’ll then close out his season in the Nov. 21
finale at Homestead.

Scott Speed’s top-10 tear through the Nationwide Series rolled on for another
weekend, as the 26-year-old Californian finished eighth in Saturday’s Dover 200
at Dover International Speedway.

It was Speed’s fifth consecutive top 10 in Michael Waltrip Racing’s No. 99 Red Bull
Toyota, and only twice has he finished outside the top 13 in 10 starts. He’s also
qualified in the top 10 five races in a row.

“These Nationwide races help me a lot,” he said. “There’s no question.”

After starting fifth, Speed had the fastest car on the track in the early going, and
the team opted to pit a few laps early because of a right-front vibration. Speed
missed pit entry the first time around, came in the next lap and cycled back into
the action in fourth.

He held top-five status until the handling fell off just a tick with 40 laps to go -
the only snag in an otherwise flawless day.

“We were really great for the first half of the race,” said Speed, who finished
seventh in May’s Nationwide race at Dover. “Unfortunately, in the last half of the
race, we weren’t quite as strong. But nonetheless, it was a great day for us. We
tried to gamble a little bit there coming into the pits. In hindsight, we probably
could’ve done things a little bit different. It was a top-10 finish, though, and we’ll
take it.”

Speed and MWR will team up for three more Nationwide races this season -
Saturday at Kansas, Oct. 10 at California and Nov. 21 at Homestead.

Post-Race Notes & Quotes

Dover International Speedway — September 26, 2009

- Mike Bliss (second) was the highest-finishing Toyota driver in Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race at
Dover (Del.) International Speedway.

- Kyle Busch (fourth), Jason Leffler (sixth), Reed Sorenson (seventh), Scott Speed (eighth) and David Reutimann (ninth)
also posted top-10 finishes for Toyota.

- Busch led twice for a race-high 109 (of 200) laps, and has now led 2,053 laps in 2009, becoming the second driver in series
history to lead at least 2,000 laps in one season (Sam Ard led 2,151 laps in 1984).

- Camry drivers Michael Annett (13th), Denny Hamlin (27th) and Coleman Pressley (41st) were also in the field.

- Busch continues to lead the NNS point standings following Dover, now 211 points ahead of second-place Carl Edwards.
Leffler (fourth) is also in the top-five in points after 28 of 25 races.

MIKE BLISS, No. 11 Ridemakerz.com Toyota Camry, CJM Racing

Finishing Position: 2nd

How was your car towards the end of the race?

“It tightened up a lot. On the long run there it got real tight and on that last restart it was pretty tight. It was a good run for this
CJM Toyota Camry. I’m happy. I’m really glad that on Monday I got the call to drive this No. 11 car and the Ridemakerz.com
car was good for second. I’ll take that.”

Would you have had anything for Clint Bowyer if the race was a little longer?

“You know, I thought on the restart I had him and I guess it ran out of fuel when we went back green. It got back though. So,
I guess we were low on fuel. I don’t know. It was pretty tight there at the end.”

How quickly did you get used to this team?

“Paul Wolfe (crew chief) and the car chief and a couple guys I worked with at Armando Fitz’s — and we ran a whole year
together. So, I know all about how Paul (Wolfe) thinks and he knows what I think. It pretty well jelled pretty fast.”

Are you happy with the second-place finish?

“I am. I came in here not really knowing what to expect. I saw the 29 (Clint Bowyer) a couple times and you just had to hit
your marks right and you could gain a couple cars on him. You just got to hit your marks right.”

What do you think happened to Kyle Busch’s car?

“I think his car looked pretty loose. He took off and left us. I don’t know if the race track freed up for him. He was pretty
loose. I would say we were a little bit snugger where I could drive up off the corner a lot better.”

KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 NOS Energy Drink Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 4th

How do you feel about your finish today?

“It’s very frustrating to come home just one spot ahead of our competition, but it is what it is. We’ll have to take it and go on
to the next week and see if we can’t figure something out to get better. I don’t know what we’re doing.”

How did your car handle today?

“A great car in the beginning. The NOS Energy Drink Camry was fast, but we might have started off a little bit tighter than
everybody else. The more the race went on, the looser we got for some reason. The guys made adjustments in order to tighten
it up and I don’t know if it was just the tires, or what, but every time we put a set of tires on we just kept getting looser and
looser. It’s not accustomed to what we are used to. We gave it all we had today.

Jason (Ratcliff, crew chief) did a good job
with what he had for information. We ended up fourth, but we were only one spot ahead of Carl (Edwards). It’s very
frustrating when you run that hard and run that good and you ended up only making only five points or four points, or whatever
it is.”

Was not having radio communication a problem?

“Well, yeah it’s a problem when you can’t explain exactly what the car is doing. We didn’t make any changes, or if we did we
made slight changes. Jason (Ratcliff, crew chief) could see what was going on with the car. The tires — every time I went out
there it was something different. Just frustrating.”

Could you have had a better finish if radio communication was not a problem?

“I don’t think so. I think it was just a mix-matched set of tires unfortunately there. We didn’t make a whole lot of changes and
so when you don’t make a whole lot of changes the track doesn’t change — it’s been the same since we started. The tires just
threw us for a loop. Unfortunately, we didn’t adjust right to what we had with the tires. The guys did a great job. They were
good on pit road. Unfortunately, all we had was a sixth-place car and we ended up fourth. I was so loose there throughout the
race that I was barely hanging on.”

How do you feel being a race closer to the championship?

“It’s cool to be ahead, but we’d like to be gaining ground instead of just staying where we are at.”

JASON LEFFLER, No. 38 Great Clips Toyota Camry, Braun Racing

Finishing Position: 6th

Can you talk about your race today?

“The car was really good. This particular car, we’re never happy with it until the race starts, for whatever reason we always
race good. It was a good day for us. It was good for us to get back on track. We’ve had three weeks of bad luck, not running
good and haven’t been able to get to the finish and to get back into the top-10 feels really good. We’ll build some more
momentum for the rest of the year.”

What are your goals for the rest of the season?

“Just work towards next year and try to win. Try to get into victory lane and try to build our fleet up for next year and be able
to contend — instead of top-10s and maybe top-fives — for wins. We’re working towards that.”

REED SORENSON, No. 10 AccuDoc Solutions Toyota Camry, Braun Racing

Finishing Position: 7th

Was the back-up car as good as your primary?

“I think our first car was better. We got a little bit of practice in this car and we felt it was decent. It was pretty good in
practice. We didn’t think it was as good as the other, but it was pretty good. We had a good day all day. Nothing spectacular.
We stayed out there the last few times when some people pitted behind us and around us. We were just a little bit off. We just
needed just a little bit of work on this car to get it better.”

Were you able to make changes during the race to make the car better?

“Once you get in the race, there’s only so many changes you can do. I don’t think it was the lack of practice in the car, we just
felt like the other car was better. We’ll hopefully not have to deal with what we dealt with this weekend with all the
unexpected things. I’m still pretty sore. Just get through tomorrow’s 400 laps and hopefully won’t be too many days to get
this soreness out of my neck.”

SCOTT SPEED, No. 99 Red Bull Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing

Finishing Position: 8th

Can you talk about your race today?

“We were really great for the first half of the race. Unfortunately, in the last half of the race, we weren’t quite as strong. But
nonetheless, it was a great day for us. We tried to gamble a little bit there coming into the pits. In hindsight, we probably
could’ve done things a little bit different there. It was a top-10 finish, though, and we’ll take it. These Nationwide races help
me a lot. There’s no question.

DAVID REUTIMANN, No. 32 Dollar General Stores Toyota Camry, Braun Racing

Finishing Position: 9th

MICHAEL ANNETT, No. 15 Pilot Travel Centers Toyota Camry, Germain Racing

Finishing Position: 13th

DENNY HAMLIN, No. 20 Doosan Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

TOYOTA NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS)

Post-Race Notes & Quotes

Richmond International Raceway — September 11, 2009

- Kyle Busch (third) was the highest-finishing Toyota driver in Friday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race at
Richmond International Raceway. Busch led once for 30 (of 250) laps.

- Chesterfield, Va., native Denny Hamlin started on the pole and led three times for a race-high 101 laps and finished 17th
after his car got loose and made contact with Kevin Harvick while racing side-by-side.

- David Reutimann (fifth), Trevor Bayne (seventh) and Scott Speed (10th) also finished in the top-10 for Toyota.
Camry drivers Michael Annett (25th), Justin Marks (31st), Jason Leffler (32nd) and Coleman Pressley (41st) were also in
the field.

- Busch currently leads second-place Carl Edwards by 201 points in the unofficial NNS point standings.

KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 Z-Line Designs Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 3rd

How was your race car tonight?

“It was a good, solid run. The Z-Line Camry was decent, but unfortunately just didn’t have enough for the front guys. The 60
(Carl Edwards) was real strong and the 33 (Kevin Harvick) was real good. The 88 (Brad Keselowski) was running us down
there at the end and we barely beat him. These guys have all picked up some grip. Unfortunately, they’ve caught up to us and
they’re catching us competition-wise and everything. We’re behind the eight ball a little bit and hopefully we can still win a
couple more before the year is out.”

What did you learn in tonight’s race that might help in the Sprint Cup race?

“It’s going to slow down an awful lot and you know the center of the corner speed – these cars, I was surprised at how slow we
had to get so tomorrow I can’t imagine how slow it’s going to get.”

How did you feel about your race tonight?

“It was a good night, but unfortunately not good enough where we were competitive enough to win. I felt like we were always
going to be a third or fourth-place car tonight. The 20 (Denny Hamlin) was really good, the 33 (Kevin Harvick), the 60 (Carl
Edwards) and the 88 (Brad Keselowski) – we almost fell to fifth. Unfortunately the 20 (Hamlin) had some problems there and
had to come down pit road. That gained us a spot sort of. Third-place was all right – we’ll take it. We’ve got to battle the
points and look at that I guess more than trying to get wins. You still like to get wins, it sure would be nice.”

What happened to your race car when Jason Ratcliff (crew chief) made a significant change?

“It really didn’t change the handling characteristics of the car that much, it just slowed down. That’s when everybody just went
by me. The 20 (Denny Hamlin) got by me, the 33 (Kevin Harvick), the 60 (Carl Edwards) – we were just hanging on. It was
kind of like a bad adjustment on a Cup car, the way that looked you would go back to 25th in the Cup series. We were just
trying to learn some stuff for tomorrow night. Normally those are the changes that help us on the other car for tomorrow night
so I don’t know what exactly I did or didn’t learn about that. We’ll see what happens and transpires for tomorrow.”

What do you think about the Nationwide Series adding a Chase format?

“To be honest with you, it would have been nice in 2006 for the guys that were 600 or more points behind (Kevin) Harvick at
this point in the year. I think it would be fun for the series. The top-10 drivers get a shot at going for the championship. It
would definitely shine some light further on those drivers that are further back in the points that are chasing for that 10th spot.
Get some recognition, get some TV time instead of it always being about the 18 (Busch) and the 60 (Carl Edwards) and the 88
(Brad Keselowski) going for the championship. You would have other guys that are in the mix or trying to get into the top-10
for the Chase and then the top-10 would race it out in the final 10 races of however they would like to do it.”

DAVID REUTIMANN, No. 32 Dollar General Stores Toyota Camry, Braun Racing

Finishing Position: 5th

How was your race?

“We had a pretty good night. We just needed long runs in the Dollar General Toyota to do what we needed to do. We just
couldn’t get that quite at the end, but Trent Owens (crew chief) and the guys did a great job – everybody at Braun Racing -
they really enjoyed the night. It didn’t start out too well but Trent (Owens, crew chief) and those guys worked on the thing.
We beat on it and got it where it was pretty decent towards the end. We just needed a lot of green-flag laps and 15 laps just
wasn’t going to cut it for us.”

Did the last caution hurt you or did need fuel to finish the race?

“I didn’t know if we were going to run out or what the deal was. I didn’t even ask. I just kept going and they kept saying we
were getting quicker and quicker and gaining on the guys but they had a pretty good lead on us. It was tough to gain whenever
you give up that much at the beginning of the run. I’m proud of my guys. Good pit stops and just a good effort all around.”

Did your car improve as the race went on?

“When we started out I was a little bit concerned that we weren’t that good to begin with. Trent Owens (crew chief) and the
guys worked on it and made it better each run. The Dollar General Toyota just needed longer runs. Not 20 laps but we needed
50 laps to really, really get going and we just didn’t have that at the end — 15 laps wasn’t going to do it for us. I’m really proud
of my guys at Braun Racing, Toyota, Toyota Racing Development and everybody did a phenomenal job. It was fun tonight.
They just told me it’s my best finish here ever so maybe we can do one better than that tomorrow.”

How much will running this race tonight help you for tomorrow’s Cup Series race?

“The cars are drastically different. You used to be able to compare the two and you really can’t do that any longer. We’ve got
a pretty good Aaron’s Dream Machine over there with Rodney Childers (crew chief) and the guys. We got it really good
during the course of the day and then we messed it up a little bit — and I messed it up in qualifying. I didn’t qualify the car as
well as we should have but I think we’ve got a good car for tomorrow.”

TREVOR BAYNE, No. 11 Ridemakerz.com Toyota Camry, CJM Racing

Finishing Position: 7th

How difficult was it to drive a car that you’ve never driven before and finish in the top-10?

“It’s kind of been the common theme all year. I’ve never been to most of these tracks besides Bristol and Iowa. I’m fairly new
to the 99 team and I’m not in the car every weekend so every weekend is a fresh start. This is what I’m used to. They did a
really good job adapting. They had the car hooked up pretty good for me there. We got a little bit tight on long runs. Short
runs I think we were the best car out there.

The first 10 or 15 laps nobody had anything for us so that caution at the end was
exactly what we needed but unfortunately we got held up a little bit by the 1 (Martin Truex, Jr.). He (Martin Truex, Jr.) went
three-wide on the green flag and I thought we were spinning out but luckily we held onto it. The brakes started going away
there at the end because this is such an aggressive race track. Without the brakes going away, I think we had a top-five car
there at the end.”

How happy were you with your team tonight?

“To see them adapt to my driving style and fix the car around me was awesome to see. They’ve got a great team, great spotter,
great crew chief, everybody. It was just a lot of fun this weekend. I had a good time.”

When did you find out that you were going to race in the 11 car?

“Tuesday night. It was awesome. Heck, they even got a suit all stitched up for me and everything. It was great to be able to
come here and race. I thought I was going to be off for like a month and a half until Texas and I found out about this and I was
really excited. Hopefully I’ll do some more races.

I’ve enjoyed working with them. I don’t know how much they enjoy
working with me though. They might kick me out. No, it was a lot of fun, clean racing and the car is in one piece. That’s
important, too, especially for a team like this that is not a Cup funded team. So every car counts. They do a great job with
what they have and it’s a great group of guy.”

SCOTT SPEED No. 99 Red Bull Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing

Finishing Position: 10th

How was your race?

“We were really great on the long run but we had something wrong with the car kind of all day and we couldn’t figure it out.
On the short runs on good tires we wouldn’t go anywhere at all. It wasn’t near as good as we were last time here so we’ve got
to go back and figure out what was wrong with it. In any case, it was really great in the long runs so it’s better than nothing.”

DENNY HAMLIN, No. 20 Z-Line Designs Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 17th

What happened between yourself and Kevin Harvick with 50 laps to go in the race?

“I was doing everything I could just to hold him off. I think there was about 50 (laps) to go or something like that. I was just
trying to hold him off and paid the price. I just over drove it into turn four and got into the side of him. I was content with
going ahead and spinning, that way I could at least get a caution and come in and work on my race car and put new tires on it.
I didn’t know he was still down there at that time. I throttled up and he was there and took it right in the door.”

How strong was your car prior to the incident with Kevin Harvick?

“We had a car that could contend for a win. We were good on the short runs. We weren’t as good on the long run on the last
run, but it seemed like we were the best car on the long run on the first run. We worked on it and I think we kind of found a
happy medium, but I think the 33 (Kevin Harvick) and the 60 (Carl Edwards) were the class of the field late in the run and
that’s what it came down to actually.”

What caused you to get into the side of Kevin Harvick’s car?

“I just got loose up there high. I knew I was slower than the 33 (Kevin Harvick) and the 60 (Carl Edwards), but I was just
trying to hold on and that’s all I could do. I just got loose and I needed the whole race track to save it, but unfortunately Kevin
(Harvick) was there. I’m glad it didn’t ruin his night and I’m sure he didn’t need that caution at the end. It was a good day for
the Z-Line Toyota, but I just got a little loose.”

MICHAEL ANNETT, No. 15 Pilot Travel Centers Toyota Camry, Germain Racing

Finishing Position: 25th

JUSTIN MARKS, No. 10 Toyota Camry, Braun Racing

Scott Speed’s to-race list is nearing completion. After finishing 10th in Saturday’s
Nationwide Series Zippo 200 – his debut at Watkins Glen International – Speed
can now say he’s at least raced at all 22 tracks on the Sprint Cup schedule.

The 26-year-old had never seen the high-speed, 2.45-mile Watkins Glen road
course before Friday. But Speed’s No. 99 Red Bull Toyota was immediately near
the top of the time sheets in practice and qualified fourth for the third race in a
row.

Michael Waltrip Racing went with a two-stop strategy, with the last coming under
caution 37 laps from the finish when Speed’s car took on four tires, fuel and a
series of adjustments. He restarted 16th and gradually reclaimed the track
position that was his in the first third of the race. He reached the top five with 22
laps to go, and only a last-lap misstep entering the inner loop chicane – turns
five, six, seven and eight – prevented Speed from earning his first top-five finish
in Nationwide competition.

Instead, it was his fourth top 10 in eight starts.

“These 99 Michael Waltrip Racing guys give me a great car every time I get
behind the wheel. Today was no different,” Speed said. “It was a great run for my
first time at Watkins Glen. It wasn’t the finish we were hoping for because we
thought we had a top-five car, but we came home with a solid top-10 finish.”

Post-Race Notes & Quotes

Watkins Glen International – August 8, 2009

- Marcos Ambrose earned his second consecutive win at Watkins Glen in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race
Saturday afternoon at the upstate New York 2.45-mile road course.

- Ambrose led twice for 26 (of 82) laps in the 200.9-mile race to earn his first victory in a Camry.

- The victory was the 10th NNS win this season for Toyota and the 32nd win since entering series competition in 2007.

- Camry driver Kyle Busch finished second to post his 10th consecutive top-two finish, breaking the record for the most
consecutive first and second place finishes in series history, formerly held by Jack Ingram in 1983.

- Scott Speed (tenth) also finished in the top-10 for Toyota.

- Other Camry drivers in the field included Robby Gordon (14th), Jason Leffler (15th), Michael Annett (20th), Justin
Marks (32nd), Joey Logano (33rd), Denny Hamlin (34th) and Brian Vickers (37th).

- Busch maintains a 212 point lead in the unofficial NNS point standings over second-place Carl Edwards. Leffler
(fourth), Logano (10th) and Annett (15th) are also in the top-15 for Toyota.

<img src="http://www.catchfence.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/AmbroseWinsGlenNNS-280x186.jpg" alt="Marcos Ambrose, driver of the No. 47 STP Toyota, celebrates in victory lane after winning the NASCAR Nationwide Series Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International on Saturday in Watkins Glen, N.Y.
Finishing Position: 1st

Can you describe your feelings right now after the win?

“It was just an awesome day for all of us. It’s our first Nationwide race and we won it. It’s awesome. I’ve got so many
people to thank. Frankie Kerr, my crew chief on the Cup side came in to help us during the race. Frankie is just the
ultimate racer and committed everything to help us and here we are in victory lane. It’s just awesome. I’m really proud.
STP has two wins in two years and that’s awesome.”

How does it feel to have two wins in a row at Watkins Glen?

“I’ve just got to thank all of these guys here. It was just an awesome day for us. This deal came together late. The
Nationwide team has come back to a part-time schedule so it’s a skeleton crew. They built a wonderful car for us that we
could work on. I had a lot of help from the (Michael) Waltrip (Racing) guys and my Cup guys. It was just a perfect day.
When you’re racing against Kyle (Busch) and Carl (Edwards) and all of those guys and when you pass them to win you’re
really doing something special. It’s just been a great day for us. Last year we won on fuel mileage and this one we earned.
It’s just an awesome feeling and it’s just great to be back in victory lane.”

Can you describe your pass on Kyle Busch late in the race?

“I knew I had to get by him (Kyle Busch). I knew if I waited until the last 10 laps he was going to do everything he could
to block me so I just tried to surprise him. I surprised us all because I got up in there pretty hard. Being here in victory
lane for the second time is just fantastic. I’ve got so many people to thank. We’re just going to enjoy it. It’s a special time
in my life and I’m just really proud of all of my guys. This is just great.”
Why did you decide that was the time to pass Kyle Busch?

“I had to surprise him. I didn’t have the straight line speed to really attack him. If I had waited for the last 10 laps there is
no way he would’ve let me pass so I just tried to surprise him. I surprised myself. I knew I had to do it then because the
element of surprise was there and that’s what got the win for us.”

Did you think Kyle Busch would have a chance to pass for the lead in the final laps?

“I was worried. It’s Kyle Busch. He doesn’t give you an inch and I had Carl (Edwards) behind me too which I bumped
into earlier in the day so I had my hands full. But those guys are fair and they race really hard. It was just awesome to beat
them.”

Was it hard to adjust to the Nationwide Series car with it being your first series race this season?

“The lack of horsepower was interesting. The difference in the Cup motor versus the Nationwide motor. You’ve got to
change the way you set the car up and it really changes the way that you drive the circuit. I think today’s race was a great
race and I think there were a lot of competitive cars. It doesn’t take much. I’ve had a couple of years in the Nationwide
Series already so I just remembered back to what I used to do and tried to apply it well.”

FRANK KERR, crew chief, No. 47 STP Toyota Camry, JTG-Daugherty

How did things unfold during the race today?

“This deal kind of came together late at JTG’s shop. We’ve just been so busy on the Cup side that we haven’t had much
time to get down there. It came to the shop on Tuesday and we worked on it Tuesday and Wednesday there and left and
we unloaded here not very good. We just kept working on it and changing things and with the help from this guy (Marcos
Ambrose) telling you what it’s doing it makes my job a lot easier.

We just made some really good adjustments there at the
end of the day yesterday and we knew we had something. I’m just proud of everybody pitching in from the Cup car, the
Nationwide team. I’ve got to thank Tad and Jodi (Geschickter) and Brad (Daugherty). They’ve been in this business a
long time, especially the Nationwide Series. I’m just so happy to win the race for them. I used to work here and we had
some poles and some seconds and stuff and now we’re in victory lane together.”

JODI GESCHICKTER, co-owner, No. 47 STP Toyota Camry, JTG-Daugherty

What are your thoughts on the win today?

“We always look forward to Watkins Glen and we always look forward to the road courses but increasingly we’ve justhttp://www.catchfence.com/wp-admin/post-new.php#category-add
been excited to go to the track with Marcos Ambrose every week. It’s always an adventure. We all know Marcos
(Ambrose) and we love him. Just to be up here again — we’re thrilled to be here, we’re thrilled to part of this sport and we
celebrate this victory with Marcos (Ambrose) and his whole family and our team. I wish the guys were in here with us.
They are packing up the things getting ready to go. They’ve all really worked hard this week.”

BRAD DAUGHERTY, co-owner, y, JTG-Daugherty

What are your thoughts on the win today?

“The toughest thing to do as we come back to this race is the expectations are very high. Marcos (Ambrose) is one of the
top road racers in the world. He’s quickly becoming one of the top race car drivers in the country. The expectations were
high and when you come back and fulfill and take care of those expectations it just shows what type of race team we have
and what type of people and personnel we have around us. It’s truly a great day for us. Marcos (Ambrose) drove his butt
off. Frankie (Kerr, crew chief) gave him a great hot rod and Tad and Jodi (Geschickter) and I got to sit back and watch.”

Kyle Busch No. 18 NOS Energy Drink Toyota

KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 NOS Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 2nd

How was your race today?

“It wasn’t a bad day I guess. The car wasn’t the best that it could’ve been I don’t think. Unfortunately, we may have
missed on something and I’m not sure what. It was just a little something because last year when I was in the 92 car I felt
like we were better than Marcos (Ambrose) until Jeff Burton and I got together. This year I didn’t have anything for him.
Just a little something missing. All in all it was a good day. The guys were great on pit road. They got me out first and
got me the track position that I needed when I needed it. Restarts were kind of a fiasco. Even from up front it was a little
bit and just hard racing but we came home second.”

Did you think Marcos Ambrose’s late-race move around you was too aggressive?

“I think it was a little aggressive getting into the bus stop but you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do to win. I felt like it
was a really, really late move and if I would’ve went through there with him I would’ve wrecked so I had to do what I had
to do to preserve my car and save myself. We had the second best car today. I was trying to hold him off but just didn’t
have enough to do it unfortunately.”

What did you think when you saw Marcos Ambrose make the move?

“I never saw him. I heard him and I heard him in the grass or wherever the hell he was. I don’t know where he was. And
I had to turn left. I couldn’t keep going through the bus stop.”

Would you have made that move that Marcos Ambrose did on the bus stop?

“I wouldn’t have made it because I would’ve wrecked and I think we would’ve wrecked if one of the cars didn’t give
which I was the car that gave. I don’t think it was a fair move. It won him the race and he had to do something. I
wouldn’t have been able to do it. I would’ve wadded my stuff up.”

What happened when you passed Carl Edwards late in the race?

“I had a faster car by a half of a second a lap and he was blocking me. Because of the double file restarts he had the inside
lane and he got by me but give a guy a break and just let me go. I drove away from him by a straightaway in four laps. It
is what it is. He (Carl Edwards) wanted to race hard and he wanted to have fun so we’ll smile about it and go on.”

Scott Speed

SCOTT SPEED, No. 99 Red Bull Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing

Finishing Position: 10th

Are you happy with your finish in today’s race?

“These 99 Michael Waltrip Racing guys give me a great car every time I get behind the wheel. Today was no different. It
was a great run for my first time at Watkins Glen. It wasn’t the finish we were hoping for because we thought we had a
top-five car, but we came home with a solid top-10 finish.”

ROBBY GORDON, No. 55 Hard Rock Hotel & Casino/The Rogue Joint Toyota Camry, Robby Gordon Motorsports

Finishing Position: 14th

JASON LEFFLER, No. 38 Great Clips Toyota Camry, Braun Racing

Finishing Position: 15th

MICHAEL ANNETT, No. 15 Pilot Travel Centers Toyota Camry, Germain Racing

Finishing Position: 20th

JUSTIN MARKS, No. 10 Construct Corps Toyota Camry, Braun Racing

Finishing Position: 32nd

Joey Logano

JOEY LOGANO, No. 20 GameStop/Mad Catz Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 33rd

What happened to take you out of the race?

“I hate it for all the guys on the Madcatz/GameStop Toyota. We had a good car. Probably not a winning car, but we could
have continued our top-five streak. We just got wrecked. I don’t know what his (Robby Gordon) problem was, but there is
no room for that. The frustrating part is that I’m not going to be back in this car until Atlanta.”

DENNY HAMLIN, No. 11 RideMakerz.com Toyota Camry, CJM Racing

Finishing Position: 34th

Brian Vickers

BRIAN VICKERS, No. 32 Dollar General Stores Toyota Camry, Braun Racing

Finishing Position: 37th

What happened to take you out of the race?

“Frustrated is just not the word because we’ve had this problem for the whole weekend. I thought we had it fixed. We
changed transmissions. It just stuck in third gear again. I went to down shift going into (turn) one and it just wouldn’t
down shift and it was just locked in gear and I couldn’t do anything with it. The 20 (Joey Logano) got into us but it wasn’t
his fault. I told my spotter to tell him. It wasn’t his fault we just locked in gear. I hate it. We had a really fast car. I’m
pretty much done for the day. I don’t know — I’ve got to talk to the guys here. We’re not racing for points and we’re just
here to win races. I hate it for the Dollar General guys.”

Finishing Position: 1st

Did you think you would have the opportunity to pass Joey Logano late in the race?

“I didn’t think I really had an opportunity. We just kept adjusting on our car all day. Normally when we’re out front we
don’t adjust on it. Today we didn’t have the winning car, we made the winning car. That’s just what seems to be the
different thing about our cars sometimes. Sometimes when we’re out front we’re content with what we’ve got and we end
up getting beat in the end — the show is stolen from us.

I can’t even speak right now. This is great. (Jason) Ratcliff (crew
chief) and myself talked this past week about what we needed to do in order to get better, in order to take this team to
victory lane instead of finishing second week in and week out. This is a good step in the right direction. I’m really proud
of Jason (Ratcliff, crew chief) and all of these guys here.”

How concerned were you about Joey Logano at the end of the race?

“I was very concerned. I ran out of battery there about halfway on my number one battery. Unfortunately, we had an
alternator problem or something like that under the hood. So I went to battery two and didn’t run any fans the rest of the
race so we won that race with no brake fans. That’s pretty cool. Joey (Logano), he’s a great racer and really has a lot of
potential and he’s showing it for sure in this Nationwide Series as well as what he’s been able to do in the Cup Series.
We’re proud of him and he’ll be here a long time as well as I am here at Joe Gibbs Racing, hopefully.”

Kyle Busch

How was the race for you today?

“It was a really good race for us. It was a smart, well thought-out race. We worked our way through the field there one at
a time and just took our time getting up through there. Really the car wasn’t exceptional there in the beginning – it was just
really tight all day. Made changes to it all day on the pit stops. Jason (Ratcliff, crew chief) made some really good calls
for it. We just kept working on the car and just kept trying to make it better and get up there to fight with those guys. At
the start of the race everybody kind of went crazy.

I knew how slick these cars were with these tires the first couple laps on
restarts so I just took my time on the initial start and let the other guys go and then worked my way back by them.
Fortunately, we had great pit stops all day. We gained some ground there and Jason (Ratcliff, crew chief) made some good
calls where we passed some cars. There at the end we were just a little bit better than Joey (Logano) and we were able to
beat him. It was definitely pretty special there to get a win for Z-Line and everybody at Toyota, all the guys on this team
and Jason (Ratcliff, crew chief). It’s good to bring home another Joe Gibbs Racing one-two.”

What do you think about being the 23rd different winner at this track in 23 races?

“That’s pretty cool – not a lot of race tracks can say that. This was definitely one of those races that just does not suit me
for some reason – I don’t know why, I don’t know what it is. Just can’t seem to get around here very well and I’ve won
here in a Cup car. I’ve had some decent finishes in Nationwide. We’re not winners here every time we come here. We’re
not the threat to win every time we come here. We’re working on it and I’m trying to get better at this place – I’m trying to
understand what it takes to get better at this place. Fortunately, we were able to make it the best there at the end and win
this thing.”

How was today’s race different for you regarding not leading all the laps?

“That’s what we do – we get out front and we get content at leading all those laps and seeing the scoreboard and just
watching that we’re leading all those laps. We don’t make any changes. If I go out there and I try to push my car the
whole time – you’re scared to lap the field because then NASCAR will throw a caution. You take your time out there and
you run a pace so then you don’t have to lap so many cars. When it boils down to time to go at the end of the race and run
fast lap times with the guys that are now behind you – it’s harder to do because now those guys have worked on their cars
all day long.

That’s what we did last week at Milwaukee – we got out front on that one restart, we checked out and left and
Carl (Edwards) ran me down a little bit and was right there when the caution fell. We didn’t make that big of a change to
the car – I didn’t ask for that big of a change to the car. Carl (Edwards) went right by me and checked out. He was
working on his car all day when he was back a little further. Really, sometimes that’s what it boils down to is just being
able to get your car better and better.”

Will you continue to be as frustrated about second-place finishes 20 years from now?

“Here’s what people don’t understand – today when were coming up through the field, if I would have stalled out at second
- I would have been fine with that second-place finish. We worked to a second-place finish and that’s what we got. The
rest of these races, the reason I get so frustrated is because we’re out front, we lead all these laps, we’re the car to beat and
we get beat at the end of the race because we didn’t make our car or everybody else just got their stuff better than ours. We
didn’t make ours good enough. That’s why it’s frustrating finishing in those weeks. Today I would have been perfectly
fine finishing second or third because I thought that was all we had. We just kept working on it and we had one more stop
and we got through that stop and made a two-tire change and the car came to life.”

JASON RATCLIFF, crew chief, No. 18 Z-Line Designs Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

How do you learn to deal with Kyle Busch’s intensity?

“I try to just talk to Kyle (Busch). It’s good. Everybody on this team understands his frustrations because we’re the
same way – we just don’t have a camera in our face to talk about it. Everybody gets frustrated. These guys work hard,
Kyle (Busch) drives hard and when you go up there and you lead laps in anticipation of another trip to victory lane and
then when you get shot down like that – it’s frustrating. You’re almost better off if you can just sneak your way to the
front all night and then if you fall a little bit short it’s a little easier to take. We understand that and we just try to keep
communicating better and better every week so we don’t put ourselves in those positions.

It’s tough. When you have a car that’s out there and leading – why would you want to work on it? There’s a reason you’re leading – because you’re better than everybody else. It’s tough to work on a race car leading, but a guy that’s running second and third – he’s got nothing to lose so they just start slinging stuff at it. That’s the position we were in today. We didn’t really have
anything to lose – we did, but we could take some chances today because we weren’t running up front anyway. It’s a
different deal and it’s the same way for everybody every week. The 20 (Joey Logano) car led 100-plus laps and it’s very
disappointing to those guys today. They had a fast race car. I don’t know if they over or under-adjusted on it, but they
probably needed another adjustment to beat us there at the end.”

No. 20 Gamestop TOYOTA Camry

JOEY LOGANO, No. 20 GameStop Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 2nd

How was your race today?

“We had a pretty good GameStop Toyota – just not good enough, pretty much is what it came down to. After every
restart we got tires, we were loose for the first six to seven laps. That’s when cars would be faster than us and beat us.
After that I was able to get them back. It just made it tough – you were hanging on for the first few and then you were
there. I think on the last restart, if we were a little tighter to start off with and I could have kept in front of them then I
might have been able to hold him off.

Once we got going, we were about the same speed. A little bit of dirty air played
into me as far as getting tighter and tighter. It’s just typical I guess with this race track – as the run goes, you keep
getting tighter. We had a good run going, we led the most laps, but I guess this is how Kyle (Busch) feels lately leading
all the laps and not winning. I guess that is tough.”

Joey Logano

Do you feel as upset as Kyle Busch seems to feel when he finishes second?

“Yeah, probably. I may not show it as much, but you’re never happy about finishing second. It’s always tough, but it’s
cool to see both (Joe) Gibbs (Racing) cars up there week in and week out over here in the Nationwide Series. It’s really
cool. It seems like the last few races it’s been me and Kyle (Busch) coming down to the wire like that.

It’s cool racing
your teammate like that for the win, but of course you always want to be the one in victory circle. Either way, it was a
good run for us. It was good for the 20 car. We’re still going for a championship in the owner’s standings there so
whatever I can do to help that.”

How frustrating is it that you are racing an almost identical car to the race winner?

“I feel like in the Nationwide Series I’m where I need to be, especially lately. Everywhere we go, I think me and Dave
(Rogers, crew chief) are clicking. I think it took us a while to figure out what I was saying. It’s kind of the same thing
that me and Zippy (Greg Zipadelli, Cup crew chief) are going through over on the Cup side right now. I just think it
takes a little bit of time. I think over in the Nationwide Series, I know the car, I know what I need and I know what it
takes to win over there.

I feel like we’re the same. It’s not like he (Kyle Busch) beat us by a lot – it was just a little bit.
Of course it’s frustrating, but you’re out there digging as hard as you can and trying a whole bunch of different lines.
We were just too tight at the end. The car just changed too much throughout the whole run. A lot of guys just started off
tighter and didn’t get as tight. We’ll just figure out what we need to do in order to fix that problem.”

Do you and Kyle Busch talk about how you are making the cars better during a race?

“Mostly the crew chiefs talk about that sort of stuff. We more talk about what line you’re running and what you can do
to go a little bit faster. For the most part, stuff like that is the crew chiefs working together. I know the two crew chiefs
talk to each other during the race and tell them what they make for changes. I’m sure I wasn’t saying the exact same
thing he was. I’m sure my car acted a little bit different than his. As much as you try to make two cars exactly the same
- we’re in the same shop, same bodies and all that stuff.

There’s always something different. There’s always something
a little different from car to car. Even now, you have car that runs good and you have a car that’s no good – it happens
like that sometimes. It doesn’t make any sense, but that’s just part of racing. It all just kind of depended on what we
had. We had different springs in the cars – it might have come down to a little something like that. You put it in your
memory bank and you put it in your notes and you come back next time. We both have different driving styles. I think
every driver out there has a different driving style. It takes different things to make different drivers go.”

Scott Speed

SCOTT SPEED, No. 99 Red Bull Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing

Finishing Position: 8th

What happened between yourself and Brian Vickers on the final lap?

“We all went into the corner and everyone started to check up. Brian (Vickers) slowed up more than I could and we both
went up the track. I couldn’t stop on time. It was unfortunate for both of us because we were both going to have better
finishing positions. Michael Waltrip Racing gave me a great car though like always, so we had a really good race and
overall a good day too. I’m happy with our run today.”

What happened between yourself and Scott Speed on the final lap?

“I don’t know what his deal was. He (Scott Speed) wrecked us. He (Scott Speed) said that we slowed down going in the
corner. It’s a shame. We had a really good run going. I don’t know what happened. He just drove in way over his head
and wrecked us.”
