Arpin’s team partners Taylor Motorsports, Lo-N-Bro Enterprises and Pinewood Sports & Marine will follow him to his new efforts elsewhere. Arpin has gained much momentum during the 2009 season on the ARCA RE/MAX campaign and is excited about the prospect of scoring another strong finish at the Johnny Benson owned Berlin Speedway.

‘We are excited about heading back to a short track next week at Berlin,’ points out Arpin. ‘I’m pleased with the performance that I have been able to turn in on the superspeedways and intermediate tracks, but those who have followed my career during the past few years understand what I have been able to accomplish in terms of wins on short-tracks, so this could be the week that we pull into the winners circle,’ smiled Arpin. ‘Short tracks have been our strongest suit all year long. We had a good run at Mansfield and with this being our last week with sponsorship here at ESR we are looking for a storybook ending and a trip to Victory Lane. Our team has a lot of momentum going and we are more than capable of winning this race. It’s been an exciting run at ESR and we are a little disappointed that we aren’t able to continue with the crew that has worked together, but we are going to do whatever we can to keep racing and chase after every opportunity available,’ said Arpin emphatically.

Steve Arpin is set to do battle in this weekend’s ARCA RE/MAX Series event at Berlin Speedway located just outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The ‘Wolverine Power Systems 200 presented by Generac’ at the half-mile racing facility will be Arpin’s last run for the Eddie Sharp Racing team as Arpin moves on to new opportunities in his young racing career.

The ARCA Racing Network will cover all the on-track activity for the ARCA RE/MAX Series from Marne, Michigan. Listen and watch live streaming audio and video of practice, qualifying at ARCAracing.com inside the ARCA Nation. The official web site for Steve Arpin on the internet is www.stevearpin.net. In addition to his ARCA and superspeedway racing talents, Arpin’s racing expertise led the young gun to 7 World Titles in snowmobile competition as a lead driver for Team Polaris. In addition, Arpin is a former multi-time champion in Open Wheel Modified action, while also displaying his winning talent in USAC Silver Crown and late model completion.

(July 14, 2009) Steve Arpin notched another top-ten finish this past weekend during ARCA RE/MAX Series action at Iowa Speedway. Arpin piloted his Pinewood Sports & Marine/Taylor Motorsports Toyota Camry to an eighth place run in the ‘Prairie Meadows 200’ at the Rusty Wallace owned racing oval in Newton, Iowa and is currently ranked in the seventh spot of the season-long championship chase.

One-hundred and thirteen different drivers have competed on the ARCA tour thus far in 2009 and Arpin is just one-hundred fifteen points away from being positioned in the top-five of the title standings. After qualifying eighth for the event, Arpin battled his way up to third place and began to reel in the front two cars prior to a pair of pit stops under separate caution periods. Fighting back through the field after handling issues were resolved, Arpin would battle side-by-side with 9-Time ARCA Series Champion Frank Kimmel for the last two laps to eventually wind up in eighth at the end of the night.

‘Our Pinewood Sports Toyota was very strong all weekend,’ commented Arpin on the Iowa run. ‘ We just really struggled through the middle of the race with one set of tires that just had no grip. I was just along for the ride until the next caution came out and we could get them off. Jefferson (Hodges – crew chief) and the guys did a great job on the car and my spotter Jim did an awesome job keeping us clean,’ Arpin added. ‘I am not at all happy with an 8th place finish, but I do know that we are still heading in the right direction and our cars are getting better each week.’

Arpin and his team are ready for this weekend’s challenge at Kentucky Speedway, where the tour makes its second stop of the 2009 campaign at the mile and a half oval in Sparta, Kentucky. Arpin’s strong run at the lightning fast Kentucky Speedway in May was cut short when he was taken out of contention in a crash not of his own making. The number 20 Toyota Camry out of the Eddie Sharp Racing operation is backed by Pinewood Sports and Marine from Arpin’s hometown of Fort Frances, Ontario with continuing backing from Jonesboro, Arkansas based chassis builder Taylor Motorsports as well as Lo-N-Bro Enterprises and Arpin is anxious to return to Kentucky Speedway.

‘The last time we were at Kentucky it was our first race with Jefferson as our new crew chief,’ Arpin points out. He and I have come along way since then and have really developed a good relationship. I’m confident that we are going back there and are going to be a real threat all weekend long.’

Tune in for Steve Arpin’s ARCA RE/MAX Series run for the winner’s circle this Saturday night (July 18th) LIVE on SPEED TV at 9:30 p.m. (Eastern) in the ‘Click It or Ticket Buckle Up Kentucky 150’ at Kentucky Speedway. (July 7, 2009) Steve Arpin returns to Deer Creek Speedway this Wednesday night as he takes the Pinewood Sports and Marine modified into action as part of the Gopher 50 in Spring Valley, Minnesota. Arpin’s run in the mid-week special that features the World of Outlaws will come in his Taylor Chassis open wheel modified which came close to a win in its first outing last Saturday night. Following the Wednesday night racing Arpin will head to Iowa Speedway for this weekend’s ARCA race at the Rusty Wallace owned facility in Newton, Iowa. Arpin and his Taylor Motorsports team are ready to contend for a first-ever ARCA series win.

‘We’ve gotten ready for Iowa this Saturday night in our ARCA car,’ notes Arpin. ‘Last week’s practice helped us gain on our goals for this week and I’d really like to get our first win at Iowa Speedway, but we are also going to have fun tomorrow night in our modified at Deer Creek in the open wheel portion of the Gopher 50,’ Arpin said. It’s a big show for race fans up here in Minnesota, Wisconsin and across the border. We had a good run going last weekend at Viking Speedway and were good enough to win that one again before the transmission broke,’ Arpin noted on last Saturday nights run. ‘Jeff Taylor had a great car prepared for us and I think I’ve got a good feel of his new Taylor Chassis cars so we hope we can win one for our friends at Pinewood Sports in front of a lot of our fans on Wednesday night. It’ll be a packed house with the World of Outlaws there.’

Arpin is currently ranked in the seventh spot in the season-long ARCA RE/MAX series championship standings and seeks to move up in the championship standings this weekend as Pinewood Sports leads the backing for the Taylor Motorsports entry into Iowa Speedway. With continuing partners Lo-N-Bro Enterprises teaming up to help lead the Eddie Sharp Racing Toyota team, Arpin is hungry for the checkered flag on the legendary touring series. This past weekend Arpin attempted to defend his 2007 title in the Minnesota Modified Nationals at Viking Speedway. After winning his heat race in the Taylor Chassis prepared machine Arpin found himself in the thick of a battle for the win at the midpoint of the event. While running in third place, slicing and dicing for the lead with two other competitors Arpin fell off the pace and was sidelined with transmission problems.

Mark your calendar for Steve Arpin’s next ARCA run for the winner’s circle in the ‘Prairie Meadows 200’ at Iowa Speedway on July 11th at 8:00 p.m. (Central). The ARCA Racing Network will be covering all the on-track activity for the ARCA RE/MAX Series from Newton, Iowa. Listen and watch live streaming audio and video of practice, qualifying at ARCAracing.com inside the ARCA Nation. Arpin’s Open Wheel Modified carries a number unique to Arpin’s Canadian roots, the ’00 eh’ with horsepower provided by Tim’s Automotive. Stay in tune with Steve Arpin Racing efforts from this Wednesday night battle in the Gopher 50 from Deer Creek Speedway as the talented Canadian racer takes his Pinewood Motorsports Minnesota Modified Nationals efforts and next weekend’s Iowas Speedway run on the internet at www.steveaprin.net. Arpin is presently ranked tenth in the seaon-long championship standings on the tour following a top-ten finish at Michigan International Speedway last weekend. The return to short track action tonight has Arpin enthusiastic based on the strong performance that the team experienced at the half-mile in Toledo, Ohio earlier this season prior to a mechanical problem ending their good run.

‘We are getting our program straightened out and definitely heading in the right direction,’ said Arpin. ‘I’m looking forward to improving our finishes every race from here on out and think we’ve got a shot at them this weekend in Ohio.’

Arpin’s crew chief, Jefferson Hodges, has a lot of experience at Mansfield in his career and that fact adds to the team’s positive outlook for this evening’s action.
