Lee Pulliam, Peyton Sellers and crew member Terry Powell were each suspended from NASCAR indefinitely Tuesday following the post-race altercations this past weekend at South Boston Speedway.
The incidents came following the conclusion of the Danville Toyota 300, which was won by Whelen All-American Series national champion and Sellers Racing driver Philip Morris.
In retaliation for what Pulliam thought was intentional contact on Lap 227 with Morris that sent Pulliam spinning in Turn 4, Pulliam was able to rally to third before chasing Morris at full speed for nearly a lap and a half after the checkered flag waved to retaliate.
Pulliam spun Morris and himself into the inside wall on the back straightaway and then rammed head-on into the No. 26 Clarence’s Steakhouse Chevrolet, destroying the front end of both cars.
Sellers, along with Pulliam, said Tuesday that they will be appealing the fines and suspensions to the National Stock Car Racing Appeals Panel.
