Prairie Meadows 200 Fast Facts

ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards Race No. 9,

Prairie Meadows 200, Iowa Speedway, Newton, Iowa

Race Information: Event: Prairie Meadows 200, Saturday, July 10 at 8:00 p.m. Local Time Track: Iowa Speedway Qualifying: Saturday, July 10 at 5:15 p.m. Local Time; Track Length: .875-mile paved-oval.

Last Time Out; Michigan International Speedway: Patrick Sheltra continued his 2010 ARCA Racing Series surge by posting a solid podium finish in the Racing for Wildlife 200 at Michigan International Speedway on June 12. Returning to the two-mile oval after a successful test a month prior to the event, Sheltra and his Jon Wolfe led team felt that they had one of the contending cars for the eighth race of the season. After practicing in the top-five, Sheltra boasted a third place qualifying effort, a speedway best before utilizing the 100 lap event to keep his No. 60 Sheltra Motorsports Toyota Camry clean and cross the line third, securing his fifth top-five finish of the year and eighth consecutive top-10 in eight races run this year. The performance also accelerates past Sheltra’s best finish at Michigan International Speedway of sixth in 2008.

Returning To The Hawkeye State: Indiantown, Florida native Patrick Sheltra will make his fourth start at the relatively new Iowa Speedway Saturday night. Sheltra made his inaugural debut at the .875-mile short track in 2007 where he qualified 15th and finished 20th. In 2008, Sheltra started eighth and captured his first top-10 finish of the 2008 season by crossing the line ninth. Last year, Sheltra qualified 18th and rallied to finish 14th in his No. 60 Dodge Charger. Sheltra has been running at the finish of all three events.

Remembering A Friend And Racer: Patrick Sheltra and his Sheltra Motorsports team for the second consecutive year will remember and honor former ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards driver and 2008 Iowa Speedway winner Matt Hawkins who died from an accidental gun discharge in February 2009. Sheltra and Hawkins raced each other in several ARCA events including the 2008 Prairie Meadows 250 at Iowa Speedway, Hawkins lone ARCA victory in his inaugural series start. Sheltra Motorsports would like to thank the team’s graphic design company DMC Graphics (Philpot, Kentucky) for supplying the “In Memory of Matt Hawkins” decals for this weekend.

Happy Birthday Mama Grace: Co-Car Owner and Patrick Sheltra’s mother Grace Sheltra celebrated her 54th birthday on Thursday (July 8). Grace Sheltra is one of several female owners in the ARCA Racing Series and was the highest finishing female car owner in 2008. As one of the top-female car owners in the development series, she has one win, 15 top-fives and 30 top-10 finishes to her credit.

Welcome To The Team: Sheltra Motorsports welcomes Brandon Hinson of Hinson Sports Management (HSM) to the team as the Director of Marketing for the long-time ARCA team. Hinson, a long-time fixture in the Motorsports industry will oversee Sheltra’s current and future marketing partner platforms while also creating business-to-business relationships within the Sheltra Motorsports organization and its affiliates. He will also work side-by-side with Sheltra Motorsports’ Manager of Operations and Communications Chris Knight.

Moving Forward Again: For the sixth time in his ARCA career and fourth time this season, 24-year old Patrick Sheltra will pilot a Toyota Camry in Saturday night’s contest. Sheltra competed under the Japanese banner at Texas Motor Speedway in April where Sheltra revived himself from being collected in an early race incident to score a solid seventh place finish. Last month, Sheltra posted another top-five finish of the season by placing fourth at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway. Most recently, Sheltra maneuvered a impressive third place qualifying run and finishing position at Michigan International Speedway in the Racing for Wildlife 200 enabling the team to notch their eighth top-10 finish in a row this year. Last season under the guidance of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship organization Germain Racing, Sheltra hoisted a Camry at Michigan International Speedway and at the season-finale at Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway.

Point’s Check: Eight races down, 12 to go, Sheltra with the guidance of crew chief Jon Wolfe sits first in the ARCA Racing Series championship standings accumulating 1885 points and 35 markers ahead of second-place Justin Marks. Sheltra also holds a 75 point gap from third place competitor Mikey Kile. The 24-year old Sheltra also controls the first position in the ARS car owner standings. Sheltra leads his prospective positions in point’s solely on his own for the third consecutive race after sharing the top-spot with Parker Kligerman for one race (Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway) in 2009.

Nice Stats: By posting his eighth top-10 finish of the season at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) on June 11, Sheltra remains the only ARCA Racing Series driver to finish inside the top-10 in all eight races thus far in 2010. Sheltra kicked off his strongest start to an ARCA season with a fifth place performance at Daytona, a 10th place performance at Palm Beach, a fourth place run at Salem Speedway, a seventh place outing at Texas Motor Speedway, his season-best second at ‘Dega, an eighth at Toledo Speedway, a fourth place run at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway and most recently a third place outing in the Racing for Wildlife 200 at MIS.

Closing In On A Record: While eclipsing his fifth top-five finish of the year at Michigan International Speedway last season, Patrick Sheltra holds a new record for the number of finishes inside the top-five for a full-season. In his previous three full-time seasons, Sheltra has posted a year high of four top-five finishes including in 2009. Sheltra personal best of nine top-10 finishes in 2008 is on the verge of being collapsed with Sheltra aiming for nine straight top-10s thus far in 2010. Sheltra is expected to set a new personal season stat record with 12 races remaining this year.

Autographs Anyone?: After his duties at the track on Friday, Sheltra is scheduled to spend his evening at the Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino (Altoona, Iowa) participating in an autograph session from 7:00pm to 8:00pm local time.

Speedway (April 2009). During his ARCA tenure, Sheltra has accumulated 15 top-fives and posted 30 top-10 finishes. A third place qualifying effort at Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway (April 2009) and Michigan International Speedway (June 2010) is Sheltra’s best time trials effort to date. He has controlled the ARCA field six times for 148 laps.

Sheltra Motorsports, Iowa Speedway Pre-Race Quotes: Patrick Sheltra, driver / owner of the No. 60 Recycling Services / Ferguson Pipe Toyota Camry

On Michigan International Speedway: “We’re real proud of our performance at Michigan. Even though we weren’t able to win, we still produced another strong run which I feel continues to aid our team towards the 2010 ARCA Racing Series championship. We’re knocking on the door of a win, it’s only a matter of time.”

On Iowa Speedway: “Iowa Speedway is a neat place. The track is super nice and provides some great racing. Handling and horsepower are key even though it’s a short track. Jon (Wolfe, crew chief) and I have a game plan for Saturday night and I feel we’ll keep our strong season alive on Saturday night.”

On Matt Hawkins: “You cannot come to Iowa Speedway and not think about Matt Hawkins. He was a good race car driver. He was someone you felt comfortable racing with and you always knew if you raced him clean, he would show you the same respect. He’s greatly missed here in ARCA but his memories live on at Iowa Speedway and all year long.”

On The Team’s Toyota Program In 2010: “It’s been a extreme pleasure to work with Triad and the Toyota folks this year. Every time we have a race with them, we learn something new. They know we’re in the thick for the championship and they are doing everything they possibly can to keep our No. 60 Sheltra Motorsports Toyota Camry out front.”

On Points: “It’s in our minds with every race we go to now. You cannot not help but think about it. We’re getting near the halfway point of the year and we have some promising races ahead for us. What we cannot afford to do is put ourselves in a position where we can put our season at risk and allow the other guys to steal our thunder. The guys on the Sheltra Motorsports team have gone above and beyond every race to give 150 percent and I don’t plan to give anything less than that behind the wheel.”

Sheltra Motorsports, Iowa Speedway Pre-Race Quotes: Jon Wolfe, crew chief of the No. 60 Recycling Services / Ferguson Pipe Toyota Camry

On Deciding To Take A Toyota Camry To Iowa Speedway; Rather Than A Dodge Charger: “We have started to transition our cars to Toyota, we are concentrating on the intermediate tracks. Iowa is kind of in between a short track and an intermediate, so with the speed and handling that it (Iowa) requires our Toyota was the right choice.”

On Deciding Not To Test At Iowa Speedway: “We debated hard over the decision to test at Iowa, and decided that we had a good set-up and Patrick has run there more than once. So we choose to work hard on our inventory for the other upcoming events as the schedule is getting ready to become very hectic.”

On The Keys To Succeeding At Iowa Speedway: “The track at Iowa is still pretty new so it holds a lot of grip in the surface, so the guys will be able to go hard in the beginning of a run. The team that will have the most success is the one who can go hard for the entire run on fuel and tires.”

On How Much Of A Difference Will It Be To Practice And Qualify In The Day But Race At Night At Iowa Speedway? “The difference between day and night is normally not a big deal, if your car is a little tight in the day it will get tighter at night. You just need to be smart about your adjustments.”

On Potentially Winning The Prairie Meadows 200 At Iowa Speedway: “There are so many variables when it comes to winning a race, so no one can predict a win. We’ve been consistent and in the hunt all season long, so those are some of the elements that it takes when it comes to winning. We do know that if we keep running up front a win will come soon.”

Track: Iowa Speedway

Date: July 10, 2010

Kyle Fowler and the Eddie Sharp Racing No. 6 Alabama Air National Guard Toyota will take the track in the Prairie Meadows 200 at Iowa Speedway on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 8 p.m. CDT (9 p.m. EST).

Last ARCA Race: Toledo: Fowler made his ARCA Racing Series debut on May 23, 2010 in the Menards 200 at Toledo Speedway. After qualifying 13th, Fowler was ready to take on his first ARCA Racing Series race in front of a packed crowd. The green flag dropped, and Fowler showed consistency as he worked his way toward the front. Bad luck seemed to follow the No. 6 as he suffered damage in one incident, then the battery disconnected during a red-flag. Although two laps down, Fowler pushed through the field to finish 15th in his ARCA Racing Series debut.

Supporting the Troops: This weekend, the Alabama Air National Guard will be featured on the No. 6 ESR Toyota. The car will be in support of American troops abroad and Fowler’s cousin, Ray Fowler, who just returned from Iraq, his third tour overseas.

Meet Fowler in Iowa: Fowler will join fellow ARCA Racing Series drivers at the Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino for an autograph session Friday, July 9 from 7 – 8 p.m. CDT. The event is located at 1 Prairie Meadows Drive, Altoona, Iowa 50009-2115.

SPEED Broadcast: The Prairie Meadows 200 will be the sixth of 10 races on the ARCA Racing Series schedule to be broadcast on SPEED Channel. The live race coverage begins at 8 p.m. CDT (9 p.m. EST). Live streaming audio will also be featured on the ARCA Racing Network at www.arcaracing.com with scoring and timing at 8 p.m. CDT.

Fowler’s Racing History: Fowler grew up racing Bandolero and Legends Cars in Georgia. Success came to Fowler at a young age, as he won feature events and titles from the beginning. In 2006, the young driver competed for five championships in several Legends Car series throughout the Southeast. He won three championships and finished runner-up twice. In 2007, Fowler competed in Georgia Asphalt Series Late Models, posting 14 top-10s in 17 starts. He then competed in the ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour in 2008 and scored a career-best second-place finish at Lanier National Speedway. Fowler won the pole at Lanier in 2009 at the Georgia Asphalt Series Speedfest.

QUOTES

Fowler on racing at Iowa Speedway

“In my first race in the ARCA Racing Series at Toledo Speedway, I learned a lot. Being my first race, I received great experience in the car, and I’m thrilled to be back at the track. I am confident going into Iowa, and I know we are going to have a good run. We’ve had some bad luck with things like mechanical problems, so I am looking forward to turning around the luck for the better. I am thankful to Eddie Sharp for allowing me this opportunity to run with the team again at Iowa. Crew chief Kevin Caldwell has been great to work with, and I look forward to this weekend with him on top of the pit box again.”

“Joey Gase Makes ARCA Debut at Home Track”

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 7, 2010) - Spraker Racing tapped hometown driver

Joey Gase

to pilot the No. 37 Spraker Racing Chevrolet at Iowa Speedway in the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards race. Gase will turn his first ARCA Racing Series laps in the Prairie Meadows 200 on Saturday.

Although this will be Gase’s first laps in an ARCA Racing Series car, the Cedar Rapids native is no stranger to Iowa Speedway. Gase took his first laps around the .875-mile oval in 2008 and has competed in five races at Iowa Speedway in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, ASA Late Model Series Challenge and ASA Midwest Tour. His best finish at the track came this past June in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series combination race driving the No. 08 ASI Limited Chevrolet, another Spraker Racing Chevrolet. Gase kept his car clean in his NASCAR K&N Pro Series debut, starting 22nd and finishing 15th in the stacked 44-car field.

The 16-year-old racer is eager to get some ARCA Racing Series experience under his belt. “I’m really excited about making my first ARCA start, and hopefully, I will do well,” Gase commented. “I would say this is the best track for me to make my ARCA debut.”

He reflected on his first race in a “big” stock car this past June and how it will help him this weekend. “Mainly, the big difference was that you race hard in the corners, and the cars are a lot heavier,” Gase said. “I think the K&N cars are supposed to drive a lot like the ARCA cars but with less horsepower. Hopefully, driving in ARCA should be about the same as driving the K&N car.”

Spraker Racing’s last ARCA Racing Series race was a partnership with driver Scott Stenzel for the Talladega ARCA 250 this season, where they finished seventh. The last ARCA race at Iowa Speedway for Spraker Racing was the 2008 Prairie Meadows 250, where they fielded a car for driver Dexter Bean. They ran a quick qualifying lap, landing them the third starting spot. Unfortunately, their fast Chevrolet was caught in an incident, relegating the team to a 35th-place finish.

Owner Jeff Spraker is excited to get back to Iowa and ARCA competition and thrilled to have the 16-year-old Iowa sensation drive his No. 37 Spraker Racing Chevrolet. “We worked with Gase some in the K&N race and really didn’t have the opportunity to work a lot one-on-one,” said Spraker. “We are looking forward to this weekend, where he gets an opportunity to showcase what he can do. He’s a good kid. He won Friday night at Cedar Rapids and was third in the PASS race last weekend at Orange County, so he has some momentum going.”

Gase will join fellow ARCA Racing Series drivers at the Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino on Friday, July 9 from 7 – 8 p.m. CDT. He will turn his first laps in the ARCA Racing Series during practice on Saturday, July 10 at 10 a.m. CDT. Final practice will be held at 1 p.m. CDT, with Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell at 5:15 p.m. CDT. The Prairie Meadows 200 will begin at 8 p.m. CDT, covered LIVE on SPEED and arcaracing.com at 8 p.m

Since moving to North Carolina during the off-season, Sheltra’s ARCA Racing Series performance has been nearly flawless and with veteran crew chief Jon Wolfe calling the shots on race day, the 24-year old Sheltra returns to the .875-mile speedway aiming for his first top-five finish including his second career-win in his fourth career start at the Hawkeye State racetrack.

“I’ve always enjoyed racing at Iowa but we haven’t been able to seal the deal with a finish we could be satisfied with,” said Sheltra, whose three previous runs at Iowa Speedway have delivered top-20 performances. “I have a good feeling that the our momentum that we’ve enjoyed this season will continue and we can finally find ourselves in contention for a win there.”

For the first time at Iowa Speedway, Sheltra will unload a Toyota Camry for competition. The Mooresville, North Carolina based operation has run the Japanese nameplate in three races this season posting three top-10 finishes including a manufacturer best of third in the most recent contest at Michigan International Speedway last month. The Prairie Meadows 200 is expected to be the only short track this season where Sheltra will powered by the world’s number one automaker.

“Even though Iowa is a short track, horsepower is important there,” admitted, Sheltra, a native of Indiantown, Florida. “You can compare Iowa to Richmond International Raceway, where you have to be able to have a good rotating car and have the power to maneuver through the turns. Jon (Wolfe, crew chief) and I have a plan for this weekend and I think it will pay off. We’ve been extremely appreciative to Toyota and Triad Racing Technologies for everything they’ve done for our team this year. We’ve had paramount success with them this year and we’re looking forward to another race with similar results.”

Sheltra continued, “You have to approach Iowa like you would any other short track. You have to be fast but also have to be alert. You can have the fastest car in the field but if you or even your spotter isn’t paying attention; you can find yourself in trouble quick. We’ve had a couple scraps this year with short track spins and such but we were able to recover and find ourselves right back in the hunt. Really, Saturday’s race is a long race. You just have to use your head and have some patience and everything else should fall into place. We also have to keep in mind that the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will be on the track Saturday, so the track characteristics may change a little bit; so we have to prepared for that too.”

Before steering all of his attention to the No. 60 Sheltra Motorsports Toyota Camry on Saturday, Sheltra will meet and greet with the ARCA Racing Series fans at the Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Altoona, Iowa on Friday, July 9 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. local. Further information about the event is available by visiting the team’s web site.

Cost-effective marketing partnerships are still available for this weekend at Iowa Speedway and for the remainder of the 2010 ARCA Racing Series season. For additional information, please contact brandon@patricksheltra.com or marketing@patricksheltra.com.

Entering Iowa, Sheltra has 75 ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards starts to his credit with one career victory at Salem (Ind.) Speedway (April 2009).

The Prairie Meadows 200 presented by SPEED on Mediacom (200 laps / 175 miles) is the ninth of 20 events on the 2010 ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards schedule. The fifth ever ARCA race at Iowa Speedway is a one-day show. Practice begins Saturday, July 10 with an hour and thirty five minute practice session planned from 10:00 a.m. – 11:35 a.m. A final fifty minute session has been etched in from 1:00 p.m. – 1:50 p.m. Menards Pole by Ansell qualifying is slated to begin at 5:15 p.m. The event will take the green flag shortly after 8:00 p.m. The event will air live on SPEED. Additional race coverage including live timing and scoring and audio broadcasting throughout the day will be available through the ARCA Racing Network (ARN) presented by ARCA Nation online at arcaracing.com. All times are local (Central).

ARCA RE/MAX Series Race No. 10, Prairie Meadows 200,

Iowa Speedway, Newton, Iowa

Race Information: Event: Prairie Meadows 200, Saturday, July 11 at 8:00 p.m. Local Time Track: Iowa Speedway Qualifying: Saturday, July 11 at 4:00 p.m. Local Time; Track Length: .875-mile paved-oval.

Mansfield Motorsports Recap: Veteran ARCA RE/MAX Series driver Patrick Sheltra suffered misfortune for the second consecutive ARCA RE/MAX Series at Mansfield Motorsports Park after being entangled in another competitor’s incident on lap one. The team was able to rebound and race competitively in the top-15 only to succumb to suspension failure 28 laps from the finish. The team finished 21st.

NASCAR Split: Between the most recent ARCA RE/MAX Series event at Mansfield Motorsports Park and the upcoming event at Iowa Speedway, Sheltra made his third career NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start at Daytona International Speedway last Friday night. After qualifying 27th, Sheltra drafted his No. 81 D.H. Griffin Companies-Quality Turf-Buffalo Wings & Rings-Indiantown Marina Dodge Charger to the top-15 with the leaders insight when contact from the No. 07 of Chase Austin sent Sheltra hard into the backstretch wall. The incident also collected Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Steven Wallace. He finished 41st.

Returning To The Hawkeye State: Indiantown, Florida native Patrick Sheltra will make his third start at the relatively new Iowa Speedway Saturday night. Sheltra made his inaugural debut at the .875-mile short track in 2007 where he qualified 15th and finished 20th. Last year, Sheltra started eighth and captured his first top-10 finish of the 2008 season by crossing the line ninth. Sheltra has been running at the finish of both events.

Happy Birthday Mama Grace: Car Owner and Patrick Sheltra’s mother Grace Sheltra celebrated her 53rd birthday on Wednesday. Grace Sheltra is one of several female owners in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and was the highest finishing female car owner in 2008. As one of the top-female car owners in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, she has one win, nine top-fives and 18 top-10 finishes to her credit.

In Memory of Matt Hawkins

Remembering A Friend And Racer: Patrick Sheltra and his Sheltra Motorsports team will remember and honor former ARCA RE/MAX Series driver and last year’s Iowa Speedway winner Matt Hawkins who died from an accidental gun discharge in February. Sheltra and Hawkins raced each other in several events last year including the Prairie Meadows 250 at Iowa Speedway. Sheltra Motorsports would like to thank the team’s graphic design company DMC Graphics (Philpot, Kentucky) for supplying the “In Memory of Matt Hawkins” decals for this weekend.

On Top Of His Game: To better prepare himself and his team for Saturday night’s Prairie Meadows 200, Patrick Sheltra and his Sheltra Motorsports team participated in an open test at Iowa Speedway last Tuesday. Sheltra and his posse spent seven hours familiarizing working on the handling of the No. 60 Buffalo Wings & Rings Dodge Charger hoping to find the upper-hand that will better them for the 10th installment on the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule.

Watcha Haulin?: Crew Chief John Hayden has elected to bring Sheltra chassis number 11 to Iowa Speedway this weekend. The primary machine will be the same Dodge that Sheltra wheeled to a podium finish of third at Pocono Raceway last month. The former Penske Racing automobile will be run for just the fourth time in Sheltra’s ARCA career. Chassis number 16 will serve as the team’s back-up automobile. That former Richard Childress Racing entry is a new addition to the team’s fleet. The Whitesville, Kentucky based team tested this Dodge Charger at Michigan International Speedway in May. It has yet to see any ARCA race competition.

Points Check: After round nine on the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule, Patrick Sheltra sits eighth in the championship standings accumulating 1625 points. Just 130 points keeps Sheltra from the fifth position. Sheltra is 490 markers from the top-spot. Car owner Grace Sheltra sits 10th in the car owner standings.

The team added their 32nd race at Mansfield Motorsports Park despite the suspension failure. During this period, the team has amassed one win, seven top-fives and 13 top-10 finishes. The team’s best qualifying effort occurred at Rockingham Speedway in April where Sheltra awarded himself with a career best run of third. The team has led five races at Rockingham Speedway (2009), Salem Speedway (2009) Kansas Speedway (2008), Cayuga Motor Speedway (2008), and Talladega Superspeedway (2008), for a total of 109 laps.

Autographs Anyone?: After his duties at the track on Friday afternoon, Sheltra is TENATIVELY scheduled to spend his evening at the Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino (Altoona, Iowa) participating in an autograph session from 7:00pm to 8:00pm local time.

You Can Be Apart Of The Ultimate Hunting Experience: Sheltra Motorsports wants to give a race fan an ultimate opportunity to join Patrick Sheltra or Sheltra Motorsports dirt driver Shannon Babb a chance at a paramount moment to hunt with either driver at Patrick Sheltra’s hunting ranch in Dryden, Texas.
On Mansfield Motorsports Park: “We just can’t seem to catch a break. We were entangled in a wreck in the first corner of lap one and unfortunately that set our tone for the night. We were able to rebound from that and fight our way into the top-10 but then something on the suspension broke and put us out of the race.”

On NASCAR Nationwide Series Race At Daytona: “First, I have to thank MacDonald Motorsports, D.H. Griffin, Quality Turf, Buffalo Wings & Rings and Indiantown Marina for allowing us to race at Daytona last weekend. There was no doubt about it that we had a good car and opportunity to finish in the top-10 but an inpatient driver hit us from behind and ruined a bunch of guy’s night. I was glad to be back in the Nationwide garage and I’m hoping to do more races later this season.”

On Car Owner and Mother’s Grace Sheltra Birthday This Week: “This ARCA program wouldn’t be active if it wasn’t for my mom. The guys on the team love her and care for her like a mom, so it’s one big family. A win on Saturday night might just be the biggest present she could ever receive.”

On Iowa Speedway: “It really is a nice place. The track provides some great racing and I’m even happier about racing back under the lights there. It should be a good night of hard short track racing. We’re going for our second win of the season and I hope we’re able to pull it off.”

On Matt Hawkins: “Matt Hawkins was a great racecar driver. We raced several times together last year and while we raced each other extremely hard, we never touched. He was a great competitor for the ARCA RE/MAX Series and we miss seeing his face at the track. We’re going to try and win the race this weekend for our marketing partners but also in honor of Matt as well.”

On The Point Standings: “We took a hit again but we are not sunk. Justin Allgaier came back last year from a huge defect; almost were we’re sitting and won the championship. It could happen for a second straight year. It’s not going to be easy and it will take a lot of hard work but with the devotion of this race team we’ve made the impossible happen.”

Sheltra Motorsports, Iowa Speedway: Grace Sheltra, owner of the

No. 60 Buffalo Wings & Rings Dodge Charger:

On Mansfield: “It was a tough race. We’ve been fast all year but we always seem to face different obstacles during the race. If we don’t we’re finishing in the top-five and winning. We think Mansfield was the last race with the hump on our back.”

On Iowa: “It’s a great place for a racetrack. It’s practically in the middle of nowhere but fans arrive at that place in droves. The track reminds me a lot of Richmond International Raceway. Patrick and the team had a good test there last week, so hopefully we can keep going in the right direction and get that second win on Saturday night.”

On NASCAR Nationwide Series Race At Daytona: “No mistaking it, people knew that Patrick Sheltra was there. Not only because he was returning to the track for the first time since the accident in February but because he was driving a very clean and smart race. That was earning him the respect of guys like Carl Edwards, David Gilliland, Kevin Harvick, David Ragan, Kenny Wallace and so on. You can’t control an unjustified call from another driver but the bright picture is Patrick wasn’t hurt and we were running near the front when it happens. We’ll be back to race in the Nationwide Series again this year and we’ll make up for the Daytona finish for sure.”
