25-year old NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) veteran David Ragan maneuvered the No. 08 Texas Tech University Ford Mustang around the 1.5-mile to a time of 29.793 seconds at 181.251 miles per hour landing the “Zer08” organization in the 24th position.
Earlier in the day under the guidance of crew chief Jeff Spraker, Ragan posted the 22nd and 18th fastest laps respectively in the two practice sessions leading up to time trials.

For car owner Hill, the opportunity to compete in his backyard is truly a blessing and something he’s dreamed about for the last two years.
“I can’t even begin to describe the emotions,” Hill said. “David (Ragan), Jeff (Spraker) and the whole Randy Hill Racing team had a mission today and I feel that we exceeded it tenfold. This is still a very new team and we have a lot to learn but to have the feedback and experience of David (Ragan) will only make us more potent moving forward. I’m looking forward to the race tomorrow and hopefully bring home a competitive top-15 finish.”

Ragan, a native of Unadilla, Georgia will make his first start in the NNS series since competing at Phoenix (Ariz.) International Raceway in 2009. He has two prior victories occurring at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway and Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway also in 2009.
The O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge (200 laps / 300 miles) is the 32nd of 34 events on the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule. The field will take the green flag at 11:55 am on Saturday, November 5th with live coverage on ESPN2, the Performance Racing Network (Radio) and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Satellite, Channel 90). Pre-race coverage of the contest lifts off at 11 am on ESPN2.
