“Finally we get to go back to a track that I’ve been to before,” An elated Finley said as he and his BKR team make final preparations for the trip to the Tar Heel State. “We sat on the pole last year with a new track record and lead a bunch of laps so hopefully all the stars will align for us and we can get the finish we deserve.” He added.
The Great Lakes State teenager is looking to put the past two races at Chicagoland and Kansas behind him and a good showing at “The Rock” would go far towards accomplishing that goal in an effort to end the 2010 racing season in ARCA competition on a high note and build some momentum for the 2011 campaign.
“These last few races have been pretty tough to swallow. I know we all have to pay our dues in this sport, but man I feel we are past that point as far as finishes go. Brad (Keselowski) has been a big supporter and I can’t thank him enough for his inspiration as well as this whole race team.” Finley ended.
In five starts in ARCA so far this season, Finley has recorded One Top Five finish, an impressive Third Place finish in the Messina Wildlife Stopper 200 at the biggest track he’s ever raced on; The 2.5 mile triangular paved oval of the Pocono International Raceway in Pocono, Pennsylvania back on June 5th.
His other starts have resulted in an 11th place finish in the Rattlesnake 100 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas on April 16th and a seventh place finish in the Racing for Wildlife 200 at the track on the ARCA Schedule closest to his home in DeWitt, Michigan, the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan on June 11th. His last two races were his 23rd place showing at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois and a 30th place showing at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas.
