(July 27, 2011) – It’s been nearly two months since a Big Red Tundra has roared in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the last being Germain Racing’s Brendan Gaughan in June at Texas Motor Speedway. This Friday, for what many fear is the final NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at the storied Indianapolis Raceway Park, Germain Racing driver Todd Bodine will wheel the No. 5 Big Red / International Trucks Tundra for Randy Moss Motorsports.

“IRP is one of those tracks that’s a tough, old short track. There’s a lot of beating and banging and you’ve got to have a Tundra that handles well to get it done. I’ve had good runs, bad runs and we’re going back this time with different ideas and a different truck. I think the Big Red / International Trucks Tundra will be good. We’re going there with intentions to win. We’ll have Big Red on our truck for the first time this season. Brendan has worn the stickers once in their home state of Texas, but this will be our first time with them and we hope to give them a great race Friday night,” said Bodine, who loves the tough, gritty, Indy track.

He told the viewers of Wind Tunnel this week how he truly hopes NASCAR and IRP can figure out a way to continue putting on great races together in the future. “I’m disappointed about the thought of the track losing its Truck Series event. It’s been part of NASCAR history for a long time. It’d be a crying shame to have this be the last NASCAR weekend at IRP.”

Todd Bodine

Bodine has no short track wins in the Truck Series. His shortest track with a win is Phoenix. However, he’s been to victory lane in the Nationwide Series at tracks like South Boston and Bristol. He and crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. would be thrilled to tears to win at such a famed short track as IRP.

Watch Bodine in the No. 5 Big Red/International Trucks Tundra on SPEED on Friday, July 29th. Qualifying airs at 4:30 PM ET. Live race coverage begins with the NCWTS Setup at 7:00 PM Eastern followed by live racing at 7:30 PM. Not in front of a TV? Tune your radio to your local MRN affiliate.

(July 14, 2011) – Randy Moss Motorsports and Germain Racing today announced a collaborative effort that will have Todd Bodine as the driver of the No. 5 International Trucks / Monaco RVs Toyota Tundra for this weekend’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Iowa Speedway. Bodine, the two-time and defending NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion, will pilot the No. 5 International Trucks / Monaco RVs Tundra for this weekend’s Coca-Cola 200 presented by Hy-Vee with Germain Racing’s veteran crew chief Mike Hillman Jr., leading the collaborative effort between fellow Toyota teams.

“We were presented with the opportunity to have Todd Bodine drive the No. 5 International Trucks/Monaco RVs Tundra, and any time that you can put the reigning series champion behind the wheel, that’s going to be a positive,” stated Randy Moss Motorsports co-owner David Dollar. “This is a collaborative effort between Randy Moss Motorsports and Germain Racing and just the latest example of one Toyota team helping another. Todd’s been a longtime Toyota driver, bringing them their first championship in one of NASCAR’s three major touring series, and he’s a proven winner. We look forward to helping Todd add to that win total, when he gets behind the wheel of the International Trucks/Monaco RVs Tundra for this weekend’s race in Iowa.”

In 175 truck series races, Bodine has amassed 21 victories in addition to his two series championships in his nine seasons of competition.

“Teaming up with NFL superstar Randy Moss and International is the perfect opportunity for me and the Germain Racing crew to continue to compete at a championship level in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series,” said Bodine, who heads into this weekend’s race 11th in points following a fourth-place finish last week at Kentucky Speedway. “International Trucks and Monaco RVs have been big supporters of the Truck Series, and I couldn’t be more excited to go to Iowa after facing some uncertainty last week. Bob Germain, David Dollar and the folks at TRD (Toyota Racing Development) helped put this deal together in a matter of days, and I look forward to building on last week’s fourth-place finish in Kentucky and continuing to march up the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series standings.”

“Collaboration is, and always has been the cornerstone of Navistar’s success. We collaborate every day with our International and Monaco Dealers to put forth the best lineup of Commercial Vehicles and RVs for the markets we serve,” said Matt Smela, Global Marketing Director, Navistar. “We collaborate with our customers to help provide them with the best equipment and solutions that help their businesses grow. That’s exactly what this opportunity presents, two outstanding organizations in Germain Racing and Randy Moss Motorsports, together extending our product messages – both on and off the track – to our dealers, customers and prospects. And to do it with an aggressive reigning Champion like Todd Bodine, that’s an opportunity that doesn’t come along very often.”

“Germain Racing is excited about the prospects of teaming up with Randy Moss Motorsports and International trucks to see Todd Bodine race the No. 5 International Trucks/Monaco RVs Tundra at Iowa this weekend.” said Bob Germain Jr., president of Germain Racing. “Germain Racing and Todd represented Georgia Boot, ‘America’s Hardest Working Boot,’ last week at Kentucky and it just seems natural to help represent the tough trucks built by International. Looking to the future, we have quite a few details to work out but I think this could be a win-win for both teams…we hope to keep Todd Bodine in a Tundra every race and get International and our other sponsors, Tire Kingdom / Service Central, Valvoline and Big Red to victory lane.”

Details of the driver lineup for the remainder of the season will be announced at a later date.

“Travis is known for being a fierce competitor and veteran in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series,” commented David Dollar, co-owner of Randy Moss Motorsports. “With his experience racing in the [NASCAR Sprint] Cup Series, we look for Travis to make an immediate impact on the team and become an asset to our organization. He has an impeccable record in the [NASCAR Camping World] Truck Series and everyone at Randy Moss Motorsports is looking forward to having the opportunity to bring home our first championship and Travis’ second title.”

Everyone at Randy Moss Motorsports has put in a lot of hard work and dedication to make this a championship-caliber team, and I believe that is exactly what you will see the International Truck / Monaco RVs Toyota Tundra racing for at the end of the season.”

Travis Kvapil will make his debut with Randy Moss Motorsports next month at Daytona International Speedway. The No. 5 International Trucks/Monaco RVs Toyota Tundra will also sport a new paint scheme which will be used throughout the 2011 season.

(October 13, 2010) – Tayler Malsam will be back behind the wheel of the No. 25 Toyota Tundra for Randy Moss Motorsports for three races before the 2010 season comes to a close. The Seattle, Wash., native will pilot a second entry for Randy Moss Motorsports at Texas Motor Speedway, Phoenix International Raceway and Homestead-Miami Speedway before taking over the reins of the Randy Moss Motorsports-prepared Toyota Tundra for the entire 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series campaign.

“I’m happy to be back with my old team at Randy Moss Motorsports,” commented sophomore driver Malsam. “We had a good truck for the race at Las Vegas [Motor Speedway]. We’ll be able to build on that and improve our chemistry over the last few races of the year and over the off-season before going to Daytona in February. Most of all, I’m looking forward to making a run at the championship next season; we finished 12th in my first year and I know we can improve on that.”

“We’re all excited to have Tayler back on our team at Randy Moss Motorsports,” said RMM co-owner and NFL standout Randy Moss. “It’s exciting to be involved in the career of such a talented young driver. I’m sure he’ll do a great job driving our Toyota Tundras.”

“Tayler is a great young driver,” said David Dollar, co-owner of Randy Moss Motorsports. “As an owner, I always find it exceptionally rewarding to help young drivers grow their professional careers. Everyone at Randy Moss Motorsports is excited to welcome Tayler back to our team full-time. He did a phenomenal job for us last season and I’m sure he’ll do the same moving forward.”

The 21-year-old Seattle, Wash., native has made 26 starts for Randy Moss Motorsports throughout his career; the most recent being the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway just two weeks ago. He has recorded 10 top-10 finishes and a best finish of fifth at Gateway International Raceway in September 2009. As a first-year driver, Malsam finished 12th in the Drivers’ Championship point standings for the 2009 season and runner-up for the Rookie of the Year title.

Sponsorship announcements for Malsam’s No. 25 Toyota Tundra are forthcoming.

(Sept. 21, 2010) – Randy Moss Motorsports will return to Las Vegas Motor Speedway as a two-truck organization with sophomore driver Tayler Malsam behind the wheel of the team’s second Toyota Tundra entry. Malsam will return to the team where he made his rookie of the year campaign in the NASCAR® Camping World Truck Series™ to pilot the No. 25 EXIDE Batteries Toyota Tundra at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to go back to Randy Moss Motorsports and race with my old team,” commented Washington native Malsam. “When we parted ways it was on good terms and I’m still friends with the guys on the team so it’s like I’m going back to race with family. Exide is a fantastic sponsor; we had a great time working together last season and I’m looking forward to having them on my Toyota Tundra at Las Vegas [Motor Speedway]. Hopefully we can pick up right where we left off and race for the win on Saturday night.”

Despite a new number on the side of his Toyota Tundra, Malsam will compete with many of the same team members that he raced with during his rookie campaign including crew chief Doug Wolcott.

“It’s going to be great to have Tayler back behind the wheel of our Toyota Tundra,” said Wolcott. “We had a lot of success with Tayler throughout the 2009 season—10 top-10 finishes and finished just outside the top-10 [in 12th] in the season point standings. There is no doubt that Tayler is a talented driver; he gives great feedback to help us make the adjustments we need on the truck and knows how to get up on the wheel. Our guys have worked hard to prepare a great truck for the race at Las Vegas [Motor Speedway] and I think you’ll see us racing near the front of the field before the night is over on Saturday.”

Randy Moss Motorsports started the season as a two-truck organization but took a brief three-week hiatus to regroup and prepare for Malsam’s return to the No. 25 Exide Batteries Toyota Tundra. Malsam is expected to be behind the wheel of the No. 25 Toyota Tundra again before the 2010 season concludes, stay tuned for race dates and sponsor information.

Jones-Drew served as the grand marshal for the second race of Thursday’s Gatorade Duels and was so enamored by the site that he is considering getting into the sport.

“I want to be an owner,” he said, per Don Coble of the Florida Times-Union. “I think that would be exciting.”

Navistar, which made its NCWTS debut in 2001, will look for Skinner to earn his second series title in 2010 while raising awareness of its International® brand commercial trucks and Monaco® brand RVs.

“We think this is a winning formula, backing one of the original series drivers with one of the most committed supporting sponsors,” said Robert Carso, Director, Marketing and Global Brand Strategy for Navistar’s Engine Group. “Many of our customers are NASCAR fans and promotion of our International® truck and Monaco® RV brands are a perfect fit for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, as we host customers strengthening and building relationships around the country.”

The Randy Moss Motorsports with HTM team is expected by many to field a champion truck in 2010 after collecting three wins during the 2009 campaign. Skinner and the No. 5 Toyota Tundra, along with the team’s No. 81 machine will operate from the team’s headquarters in Statesville, North Carolina.

“The combined forces of Randy Moss Motorsports with HTM has delivered the most high-performance capabilities of our tenure in the series,” said Carso. “Their facilities, personnel, competitiveness and passion are unmatched.”

The sponsorship of the No. 5 entry will provide a premium platform for Navistar to market its industry leading lineup of International brand commercial trucks and Monaco brand RVs in 2010. NASCAR fans across the country rely on these vehicles for work and for play. The NCWTS is a great way for the company to thank loyal owners and attract new customers with the help of their International and Monaco dealer partners.

“Our 11 year involvement with the NCWTS has proven again and again how powerful a NASCAR program can be,” Carso said. “The combination of Mike Skinner, Randy Moss Motorsports with HTM will represent our performance brands well.”

Skinner, who won the inaugural NCWTS championship in 1995, is third all-time with 28 Truck Series wins, and was the first driver in the series to win one million dollars. Last year, his first for Randy Moss Motorsports, he finished third in the season standings. In 2007, he finished as season runner-up and in 2008 he finished sixth. With them behind our No. 5 Toyota Tundra, and our partnership with HTM, we’re setting our sights very high for Mike Skinner this year.”

Post-Race Notes & Quotes

Homestead-Miami Speedway – November 20, 2009

- Timothy Peters (fourth) was the top finishing Toyota driver in Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck
Series (NCWTS) race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

- Todd Bodine (fifth), Mike Skinner (sixth), David Starr (seventh) and T.J. Bell (10th) also finished in the top-10
driving Tundras at the 1.5-mile oval.

- Toyota drivers Brian Scott (12th), Kyle Busch (13th), Aric Almirola (14th), Tayler Malsam (15th), Stacy Compton
(21st), Brad Sweet (27th) and Mike Bliss (31st) were also in the field.

- Five Tundra drivers are among the top-10 in the final unofficial NCWTS point standings to end the 2009 season –
Skinner (third), Bodine (fourth), Scott (seventh), Peters (eighth) and Starr (ninth).

No. 17 Strutmasters.com Toyota Tundra

TIMOTHY PETERS, No. 17 Strutmasters.com Toyota Tundra, Red Horse Racing

Finishing Position: 4th

Are you happy with the way you ended your 2009 season tonight?

“What a way to end a year with this Strutmasters.com Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra. It’s just awesome to end a year on this note right here. We looked to stay out and we didn’t have anything to lose. We were gambling to see if we could get us another victory but I tried to get the tires as clean as I could and I spun them a little bit. A rookie mistake on my part. I’ve got to thank Chad Kendrick (crew chief) and everybody on this team. They do a great job. From where we started at Daytona not knowing if we could make it past Martinsville. Tom DeLoach (Red Horse Racing, team owner) gave me an awesome opportunity to be here. Strustmasters.com, Toyota, Toyota, Toyota — I can’t thank those guys enough. I’m
looking forward to next season.”

How did your truck handle during the race?

“It was good for us. Our Strutmasters.com Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra was good right off the lift gate. We made a gamble there at the end to stay out thinking some people would stay out with us but everybody came in. Chad Kendrick (crew chief) did a great job. The whole team — considering where we started at in Daytona not knowing that I could make it past Martinsville. I don’t know where we ended up in points but we had a good finish and got us a win this year.”

Timothy Peters (Photo Credit: John Harrelson/Getty Images for NASCAR)

Why did those trucks beat you on that final restart?

“They had fresh tires. Everybody came down pit road and we were just the lonely sole out there. But all in all it was a
good day. I’m just ecstatic. When we joined Red Horse Racing we were 19th in drivers points and I think we ended up
around seventh. It’s been an awesome year and I’m ready to go to Daytona.”

What happened on the final restart?

“When you race with these guys you learn a lot and (Kevin) Harvick is the best of the best. I cleaned my tires off but
evidentially it wasn’t enough. I made a rookie mistake and spun them too much, but he had new tires and was going to go
by us in turn one anyway.”

Todd Bodine

TODD BODINE, No. 30 Copart Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing

Finishing Position: 5th

What happened from your viewpoint on the ‘green-white-checkered’ finish?

“The truck series usually is pretty crazy with the green-white-checkered. Before the caution came out we had the fastest
truck on the track. We were just so far back, we were running seventh, so we decided to come in, put two tires on and gain
a little track position. We pumped the right front tire up a little too high and it pushed too much in the last two laps. We
still gained two spots. Copart and everybody, I really appreciate what they’ve done for us this year in getting us through the
year with their sponsorship. It’s typical Germain Racing — we just never give up. We started the season with a win at
Daytona with no sponsor on the truck and we made it through the season with the help of Copart, Ventrillo and Lumber
Liquidators. It was a tough year, but we got through.”

What were you adjusting in your truck when you lifted the hood halfway through the race?

“The first set of tires, we corded the inside pretty bad. I think it was really the right call to come in and adjust it so we
didn’t blow it out. We didn’t need to finish in the back – we needed to keep the points up to finish fourth in points. It really
didn’t help it drive any better, but it definitely saved the tire and kept us in front of Johnny (Sauter) for fourth in points.”

No. 5 Exide Batteries Toyota Tundra

MIKE SKINNER, No. 5 Exide Batteries Toyota Tundra, Randy Moss Motorsports

Finishing Position: 6th

What happened from your viewpoint on the ‘green-white-checkered’ finish?

“That was crazy and that cost us a spot right there. I didn’t know if I was supposed to come on pit road or not. Just had a
lot of confusion going on with the radio right there. We had about a fourth or fifth-place truck and we lost a couple spots
right there at the end. We’ve got a good race team and we’ve got a lot to build on. I’m proud to be driving a Toyota Tundra
and I can’t wait till Daytona.”

Mike Skinner

How was your season overall?

“It was a great season and I really felt like I would have liked to have finished a little better last night. I thought that we
might have had a little better truck. Eric (Phillips, crew chief) did a good job, the pit crew did a fantastic job – I don’t think
the driver did that good of a job tonight. I kept overdriving the corners and trying to get grip that just wasn’t there. Tim
Fedewa did a great job spotting, he kept trying to get me to slow down in the corner. When I would slow down getting in
the corner, I would run really good laps and we had a really good truck. Got to work on the driver a little bit with these tires
that are like this. Goodyear does a great job and I know they’ll get us better stuff next year.”

Post-Qualifying Notes & Quotes

Talladega Superspeedway – October 30, 2009

TERRY COOK, No. 25 Cajun Industries Toyota Tundra, HT Motorsports

Starting Position: 2nd

How was your qualifying lap?

“We’re very pleased with the Harris Trucking / Cajun Industries Toyota Tundra. It was good. On the chassis dyno and the wind
tunnel, if they tell you anything, they tell you you’ve got a pretty truck. We spent a lot of time with this truck, rubbing on it and
made sure that it not only qualified good, but really, ultimately raced well. So far, the qualifying part is coming true and
hopefully it will race well tomorrow.”

What do you think of the rule changes announced for 2010?

“Thank you. That is it, thank you. It’s been a long time coming. The rule changes, I think NASCAR did a great job in making sure
the teams could feasibly get through the season so I applaud them for that. The pit stop rules that we had where you fuel one time
and then tires on the next, I think it just confused everybody, confused the drivers. I think we opened ourselves up to getting
somebody hurt, whether it be a track worker on the track or crew members on pit road. Going back to the format and now we have
figured out a way to where it’s going to be six people over the wall so that saves us the cost of one person, instead of the Cup or
Nationwide that have seven, so that’s going to help a bunch.

The new engine rule where we have to run a sealed motor every two races instead of every three is going to help a bunch. Really excited about the outlook of the Truck Series going forward and as you mentioned, having been here for as many starts as I’ve had, I’ve seen the Truck Series go through a lot of changes and I applaud NASCAR for making this change.

The double-file restarts, I first saw that in Phoenix in the Camping World West Series back in April and I thought it was just great side-by-side racing. I was excited when it got introduced into the Nationwide and Cup series, but was disappointed that they didn’t do it in the Truck Series around Indianapolis race weekend. Knowing that going forward we’re going to have double-file restarts, I’m excited about that as well. I applaud all their changes. Personally, I think it was a little overdue, I was looking for all these changes about mid-season this year, but glad to see they are taking the initiative to where we
will have them next year.”

MAX PAPIS, No. 13 GEICO Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing

Starting Position: 3rd

How much are you looking forward to tomorrow’s race with such a good qualifying run?

“The GEICO Toyota was just great — it drove by itself. We did a lot of work to make it a little faster and the guys in the shop,
they’re just amazing. It’s as much of a team effort as it can be. When you come to a place like this I think you need to maximize
the length of the bolt in the truck. I guess they did it all and it’s proven to work. It might have been facilitated a bit by starting in
the back, but you need to put up the number and we did it so we’re happy. This is a big thing for me, especially since it’s the second
time for me at Talladega. Just let me enjoy what it means to be in the top-five because it’s just huge. I know it’s only qualifying,
but I just like to enjoy every second of it.”

ARIC ALMIROLA, No. 15 Graceway Pharmaceuticals/AKawareness.com Toyota Tundra, Billy Ballew Motorsports

Starting Position: 5th

Are you happy with your qualifying lap?

“I’m really pleased with that. We go to these restrictor plate races all the time and we watch the 30 (Todd Bodine), as far as
Toyotas go, outrun us. He’s won the last four of them. I think that’s pretty good for us, let alone just to be able to outrun him in
qualifying. Qualifying doesn’t mean a whole lot here. We practiced real well, we got a good race truck, so I’m excited for
tomorrow.”

TODD BODINE, No. 30 Copart Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing

Starting Position: 6th

How was your qualifying effort?

“I got a lot of excuses. I had a headwind down the front straightaway, and a flock of geese flew in front of me in front of the back
and messed the air all up and slowed me way down. It’s Talladega. It doesn’t matter where you start. It’s how good your truck
drives, how good it drives in the draft. This truck has won the last four speedway races and it drives awesome. We actually even
made it a little better this morning with a couple things. I think the Copart Tundra is going to be just fine. It’s great to have the
pole, but that doesn’t get the big check and the big trophy.”

Does your starting position at Talladega affect your strategy?

“If you’re way back, yeah, you have to look at it a little differently. I don’t even know what I ran, but we’ll be close to 10th or
something and that’s close enough to the front. Just find a hole and just wait around for the end and see what you got. Make some
adjustments and go from there. I’ve started like 28th here before and 10 laps was leading. If you do the right things in the draft and
you make the right moves, it’s not a big deal. I’m not really worried about it.”

TAYLER MALSAM, No. 81 One Eighty Toyota Tundra, Randy Moss Motorsports

Starting Position: 8th

How was your truck in practice?

“It was awesome. This Randy Moss team did an awesome job giving me a good truck. Same one as we brought to Daytona and
we had a lot of fun with it. It should be a good race. Drafting here is so much different than Daytona. It’s so much more smooth
and it’s a lot more fun, that’s for sure.”

How much fun is it to learn drafting techniques from the veterans?

“I like it a lot, especially following Mike (Skinner) or (Ron) Hornaday and those guys, because I can follow them up through the
track and see where their lines go and how they like to run. It’s a lot of fun and I’m very fortunate to have Mike (Skinner) as a
teammate, especially if we qualify near each other today.”

STACY COMPTON, No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance / Melling Engine Parts Toyota Tundra, Wyler Racing

Starting Position: 9th

KYLE BUSCH, No. 51 Miccosukee Resorts Toyota Tundra, Billy Ballew Motorsports

Starting Position: 10th

MIKE SKINNER, No. 5 PC Miler Navigator Toyota Tundra, Randy Moss Motorsports

Starting Position: 11th

How was your truck in qualifying?

“That’s the first qualifying run that we’ve done and our PC Miler Navigator Toyota Tundra is driving very, very good today. I think
it’ll race pretty good. I don’t think we’re the cream of the crop, by any means, but if we catch the right draft there towards the end, I think we can finish well.”

How sensitive are the trucks to who you’re drafting with?

“It’s not so much how sensitive the trucks are, it’s how you react to what the drivers are gonna do. We were talking about that
earlier. Over in the Cup (Series) side, you’re drafting with certain people and you say, ‘He’s gonna do one of three or four things.’
You can kind of narrow it down. There’s been a couple of them I was riding around out there with today, there might be 10
different things, or eight different things. I’m like, ‘Wow, why did he do that?’ It’s just the experience level with those guys over
there. They’re a little bit more seasoned as far as drafting goes. You gotta be a little bit aware. You can’t take it for granted, what
the guy in front of your or beside you is gonna do over here.”

DAVID STARR, No. 24 Zachry Toyota Tundra, HT Motorsports

Several sponsors, including Exide Batteries and PC*Miler Navigator, have sponsored Skinner on a part-time basis this season, and the driver expects both to return in a similar capacity in 2010.

Skinner joined the organization co-owned by David Dollar and pro football player Randy Moss at the beginning of the year after a little more than four seasons with Bill Davis Racing.

“We’re pursuing a couple of sponsors right now, and if we were to get one of those sponsors, it would really, really help Randy Moss Motorsports,” Skinner, the 1995 series champion, said earlier this week. “In the meantime, David Dollar called me this week and said that he and Randy had talked and they would like to retain my services next year regardless of whether or not we get the additional sponsors.”

Pre-Race Notes and Quotes

Gateway International Raceway

Copart 200

September 12, 2009

MALSAM AT GATEWAY: Tayler Malsam will be making his 20th start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) when the green flag drops for the Copart 200 at Gateway International Raceway Saturday afternoon. Malsam has never before raced at the 1.25-mile Madison, Wisconsin venue.

MALSAM’S RIDE: Crew Chief Doug Wolcott and the No. 81 team are utilizing the same One Eighty Toyota Tundra they prepared for last weekend’s event at Iowa Speedway. This is the second time the team will run Randy Moss Motorsports chassis No.107. Malsam posted his best qualifying effort of the season in this Toyota Tundra and finished the event in 10th place.

Tayler Malsam

TAYLER’S TAKE ON GATEWAY: “I’ve never been to Gateway before, but I know Doug has, so that will help us. The No. 81 One Eighty Racing guys worked hard to turn around the truck that we ran last weekend so we could run it again in Gateway. It’s a good Toyota Tundra and now that we’ve got one race with it under our belt, I think things should go a little more smoothly than they did during the race last weekend. I’m looking forward to racing at Gateway International Raceway. The trucks have been racing there for a long time now and the racing is usually pretty good, so I think it will be a fun weekend for us and for the fans.”

WOLCOTT ON GATEWAY: “I’ve been to the Gateway track several times throughout the years and it doesn’t really compare to anywhere else that we race. It’s a flat track and it’s pretty bumpy getting into the corners. Getting the truck to turn well is the key to racing there and getting it to stay under you the whole time.”

THE SEASON’S STATS: The No. 81 team has posted eight top-10 finishes in 17 events this season. Malsam’s top-10 effort last weekend at Iowa Speedway helped boost him up two positions in the NCWTS driver points battle. He now holds down the 11th spot, 11 markers outside of 10th and 141 points out of the top five.

WATCH AND LISTEN: Race coverage will be televised on SPEED and heard live on select affiliates of MRN Radio and Sirius-XM NASCAR Radio Channel 128, beginning at 2:30 p.m. (ET).

POINT AND CLICK: Fans can continue to vote for their favorite driver for the Most Popular Driver Award through the end of October. The results of the online balloting will be announced at the NCWTS awards banquet at the end of the season.
Pre-Race Notes and Quotes

Gateway International Raceway

Copart 200

September 12, 2009

SKINNER AT GATEWAY: Fresh off his second victory of the season, Mike Skinner will be making his 197th start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series when the green flag drops for the Copart 200 at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Ill. Saturday afternoon. Mike Skinner (NCWTS) has competed on the 1.25-mile track on six occasions in the truck series. Skinner has earned one top-five and two top-10 finishes. He started from the pole position in 2007 and posted his best performance, a fourth-place effort in 2005.

PHILLIPS’ CHASSIS CHOICE: Crew Chief Eric Phillips and the No. 5 Randy Moss Motorsports team will utilize chassis MDM-106 for Saturday afternoon’s event. This particular truck is a favorite of the team and has been run at five previous races this year, including Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, The Milwaukee Mile, Memphis (Tenn.) Motorsports Park and O’Reilly Raceway Park near Indianapolis. This is also the same truck the team raced to victory last weekend at Iowa Speedway.

Mike Skinner

SKINNER SAYS: “I can’t wait to get to Gateway. Every time you win, you can’t wait to get back to the track the next week. Set-up wise, the track is somewhat similar to what we ran last week at Iowa Speedway. It’s been a rollercoaster ride for me there over the years. We’ve run well there and we’ve been taken out a time or two. I’ve had a spindle break and torn my shoulder out there. We lost a lot of points to Hornaday there one year. It’s looked like we were going to win and then we had a parts failure. It’s been a real ride. I’m just hopeful that this time around we can run as well as I have in the past, but be able to finish it up.”

THE SEASON’S STATS: The No. 5 team has posted seven top-five and 11 top-10 finishes in 17 events this season, including two wins, which came at Kansas Speedway in April and last weekend in Iowa. Skinner holds down the third spot in the NCWTS driver point standings, 56 markers behind second place and 281 points out of first.

WATCH AND LISTEN: Race coverage will be televised on SPEED and heard live on select affiliates of MRN Radio and Sirius-XM NASCAR Radio Channel 128, beginning at 2:30 p.m. (ET).

SKINNER CAREER NCWTS STATS: Mike Skinner has scored 27 victories in 196 starts in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition and has earned 87 top-five and 125 top-10 finishes since making his first start in Phoenix (and going on to win the event) in 1995. He has also earned 48 pole positions during that time, including one in last weekend’s event.

The results of the online balloting will be announced at the NCWTS awards banquet at the end of the season.
Just a couple of months removed from its one year-mark in NASCAR, Randy Moss Motorsports has made huge strides, scoring two NCWTS wins with driver Mike Skinner, including last weekend at Iowa, where standout rookie teammate Tayler Malsam also faired well. Heading into Saturday’s race at Gateway (2:30 p.m. ET on SPEED™; NCWTS Setup with Krista Voda at 2 p.m ET), Skinner sits third in points and Malsam 11th.

“You always want to be successful in anything that you do,” Moss said. “Both our wins were just awesome. Considering we didn’t get everything pulled together until a couple of weeks before Daytona and with the limited resources we have in sponsors, it just shows the determination and dedication of everyone at Randy Moss Motorsports. Those guys put in so much hard work at the shop and I’m so proud of them. With football season now in full swing, I most likely won’t be able to make another race this year but I’ll be cheering them on from wherever I am at.”

The team’s rapid accomplishments have surprised even a seasoned veteran such as Skinner, 1995 NCWTS champion.

“I didn’t have any idea that we’d win a race, first of all, and sitting in the top five in points has been spectacular,” said Skinner, driver of the No. 5 PC*Miler Navigator Toyota. “The fact we don’t have more top-five finishes might be a product of the situation we’re in. I’m more careful about not tearing stuff up and I settle for second instead of always going for the win and possibly wrecking just because we don’t have an abundance of trucks yet.”

That “situation” was RMM’s manufacturer switchover during the off season, and with the added work came time and ground lost to the rest of the field.

“We don’t have the inventory that a lot of our competition has,” Skinner stated. “We had to change everything over to Toyotas over the winter and we’re still building stuff and doing it with a fourth of the money that other teams have. It’s a struggle but give these guys an A-plus for what they’ve done with what they’ve got to work with.”

When Moss takes the field at Gillette Stadium, he knows what plays to expect and how to execute them. But he came to NASCAR with an empty playbook.

“To me it’s (biggest surprise) been everything that it takes to get a truck ready to go race,” Moss said. “There are so many little pieces to the big puzzle that it just amazes me. When I first came to the shop I was truly surprised by all it takes to put one of these trucks together. It’s more of a team sport than I thought before I got involved.”

Skinner’s team had an extra and unwelcome 12th man on the field earlier this year – misfortune. The California native was involved in a violent accident while leading at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in the same car with which he won at Kansas Speedway.

“Bad luck has played a huge role because we had a dominant truck at Charlotte,” Skinner recalled. “No one was going to beat us. We were leading and a truck we were about to lap knocked us out of the race. That was a devastating wreck that knocked the wind out of our sails but these guys just keep digging and working hard.”

Also working hard this season is Skinner’s rookie teammate. Malsam, who ran only two Truck races in 2008, is only 11 points out of 10th position with eight top-10 finishes, and says pairing up with the former champ has accelerated his learning curve.

“He (Skinner) has helped me on and off the track,” said Malsam, driver of the No. 81 One Eighty Toyota. “I can get out of the truck and go talk to him about what my truck is doing or his truck is doing and he’ll help me out. He has been a big help this year.”

Moss also is pleased with Skinner’s coaching role.

“Tayler has not been to a lot of these tracks and Mike has tons of experience on each of them,” Moss explained. “Mike is able to give Tayler the basic knowledge as far as race lines and what to expect out of the truck. Tayler is a very talented driver and has proven that throughout the year. He’s able to hold his own but with the little bit of input from a veteran and champion like Mike, I think the sky is the limit for Tayler.”

As for Skinner, he says he’d settle for another win and a top-five points finish.

“Would that satisfy us?” Skinner questioned. “No. You’re never pleased with anything but first but it would definitely be an acceptable year given the cards we’ve been dealt. I think this team has the potential if we can get some potential backing and give us another year or so, got potential to raise the bar higher than what KHI has been able to do.”

Pre-Race Notes and Quotes

Iowa Speedway

Lucas Oil 200

September 5, 2009

SKINNER AT IOWA: Mike Skinner will be making his 196th start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series when the green flag drops for the Lucas Oil 200 at Iowa Speedway Saturday evening. Skinner has never before competed on the .875-mile oval located in Newton, Iowa.

PHILLIPS’ CHASSIS CHOICE: Crew Chief Eric Phillips and the No. 5 Randy Moss Motorsports team will utilize chassis MDM-106 for Saturday evening’s event. This particular truck is a favorite of the team and has been run at four previous races this year, including Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, The Milwaukee Mile, Memphis (Tenn.) Motorsports Park and O’Reilly Raceway Park.

TURNING TO TOYOTA OF DES MOINES: The No. 5 Randy Moss Motorsports entry will feature Toyota of Des Moines as primary sponsor this weekend. Skinner, along with the race hauler and race truck, will make an appearance Thursday afternoon at the dealership located at 4475 Merle Hay Road in Des Moines.

THOUGHTS FROM PHILLIPS: “From what everyone says, Iowa Speedway is a bit like Richmond, so we’ll sort of go off of that and use the information we’ve got from the short tracks that we’ve already run this season. Thursday will be more like an actual test session than an extended practice, so we’ll set up our No. 5 Toyota of Des Moines Tundra somewhat like we had it at Milwaukee earlier this year and adjust on it from there.”

TWO CHANCES TO CATCH SKINNER: Fans will have two opportunities to meet Mike Skinner this week. The 1995 Series Champion is scheduled to sign autographs at Toyota of Des Moines Thursday afternoon from 3-6 p.m. CT. In addition, Skinner will join many of his fellow NASCAR Camping World competitors to sign for fans from 4-5 p.m. CT behind the Manatt grandstands at the Speedway.

THE SEASON’S STATS: The No. 5 team has posted six top-five and 10 top-10 finishes in 16 events this season, including one win, which came at Kansas Speedway in April. Skinner holds down the third spot in the NCWTS driver point standings, 96 markers behind second place and 316 points out of first.

WATCH AND LISTEN: Race coverage will be televised on SPEED and heard live on select affiliates of MRN Radio and Sirius-XM NASCAR Radio Channel 128, beginning at 8:30 p.m. (ET).

SKINNER CAREER NCWTS STATS: Mike Skinner has scored 26 victories in 195 starts in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition and has earned 86 top-five and 124 top-10 finishes since making his first start in Phoenix (and going on to win the event) in 1995.

POINT AND CLICK: Fans can continue to vote for their favorite driver for the Most Popular Driver Award through the end of October. The results of the online balloting will be announced at the NCWTS awards banquet at the end of the season. Visit www.nascar.com for more details and to cast your vote for Mike.
