The 18th annual Brickyard 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race is scheduled for Sunday, July 31, with the fourth annual Red Bull Indianapolis GP MotoGP race Sunday, Aug. 28.

For just the second year, Race Day general admission tickets will be offered for the Brickyard 400, with prices starting at $30 – a $10 savings from 2010. Race Day general admission tickets also will be available for the Red Bull Indianapolis GP, starting at $40. All children 12 and under will be admitted free with an adult general admission ticket holder at both events.

As a special incentive, four fans will win a prize package based on when they purchase tickets Thursday. The first online and in-person ticket purchaser each will be awarded prizes, and the 11th and 26th overall (online or in-person) purchasers Thursday also will be winners.

Those numbers are based on the vehicle numbers of the champions of this year’s Brickyard 400 (No. 1 Jamie McMurray) and Red Bull Indianapolis GP (No. 26 Dani Pedrosa), and also the year 2011, the final year of the IMS Centennial Era.

The 2011 Brickyard 400 features a new, two-tiered ticket pricing program, creating even more value and a wider variety of options for fans. Prices have been cut in selected rows of specific grandstands.

Fans have three ways to buy tickets for both events:

•Online: Visit www.imstix.com.

•Phone: Call the IMS ticket office at (317) 492-6700, or (800) 822-INDY outside the Indianapolis area.

•In person: Visit the ticket office at the IMS Administration Building at the corner of Georgetown Road and 16th Street.

Online orders can be made at any time. Hours for phone orders and the ticket office are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (ET) Monday-Friday.

Tickets for groups of 20 or more also are on sale. Contact the IMS Group Sales Department at (866) 221-8775 for more information.

Both races will feature a wide variety of storylines next summer at IMS.

Defending Brickyard 400 winner McMurray will try to become only the second driver to win the race in consecutive years. Jeff Gordon will try to earn his record fifth Brickyard victory on the historic 2.5-mile oval, and Jimmie Johnson will try to match teammate Gordon with his fourth victory.

Indiana native Tony Stewart also is seeking to become just the third driver to win the race at least three times, while popular Dale Earnhardt Jr. will attempt to create the first father-son tandem of Brickyard 400 champions. His father, Dale Earnhardt, won the race in 1995.

The Red Bull Indianapolis GP will feature an interesting mix of change and constants.

2008 race winner and seven-time MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi is moving to the fabled Ducati Team in 2011 and will race on the 2.621-mile road course on the famous red bike after spending the last seven seasons at Yamaha. 2006 World Champion Nicky Hayden, from nearby Owensboro, Ky., will stay at Ducati as Rossi’s new teammate.

American Ben Spies, who won the pole this year as a rookie, is replacing Rossi on the factory Yamaha team as a teammate to 2009 Red Bull Indianapolis GP winner and 2010 World Champion Jorge Lorenzo.

All three Americans racing in MotoGP in 2010 will be on the grid in August 2011 at IMS, as popular Colin Edwards will remain at the Tech 3 Yamaha team and join Hayden and Spies in the race.

American Kenny Noyes also will return to Moto2, one of the three World Championship classes competing at IMS on Red Bull Indianapolis GP weekend.

On Thursday, Dec. 17, exactly 100 years to the day that the final brick was laid, any fan who purchases four reserved Race Day tickets to any IMS event in 2010 will receive a commemorative plaque containing a replica of the contract used to purchase the bricks and a casing of original brick pieces from the racing surface. The offer is valid on new purchases only for new or existing IMS ticket customers. All plaques will be shipped at a later date.

Tickets for the Indianapolis 500 (May 30), Brickyard 400 (July 25) and Red Bull Indianapolis GP (Aug. 29) can be purchased three ways: Online at www.imstix.com at any time; on the phone by calling (800) 822-INDY outside the Indianapolis area or (317) 492-6700 locally between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday; or visiting the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Ticket Office on the first floor of the IMS Administration Building at 4790 W. 16th St. in Indianapolis from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

To celebrate the historic anniversary, the original brick contract and several original bricks will be on display Dec. 17 in the lobby of the IMS Administration Building.

When IMS opened in the summer of 1909, the first races took place on a track surface composed of crushed stone and tar. To provide a smoother racing surface for the competitors, IMS purchased more than 3 million paving bricks and began laying them in fall 1909. On Dec. 17, 1909, Indiana Gov. Thomas Marshall laid the ceremonial final “golden” brick in place.

Beginning in 2009, the Speedway celebrates its Centennial Era, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the facility in 2009 and the 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race in 2011.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com at any time. Tickets for groups of 20 or more also are on sale. Contact the IMS Group Sales Department at (866) 221-8775 for more information.

NOTES & QUOTES: PEAK Antifreeze & Motor Oil Indy 300 at Chicagoland Speedway

Ryan Hunter-Reay: ABC Supply No. 14 Dallara/Honda/Firestone

· Ryan Hunter-Reay on Chicagoland: “I enjoy racing at Chicagoland; it makes for some great racing as the fans will tell you. The key for us is to go back there with a car that’s similar to the one we had at Kentucky and make a good race car out of it. I think the most interesting part of this weekend will be to see what teams are doing with the 300 lbs. of available downforce. At Kentucky there were quite a few different approaches and ours was somewhere in the middle. As far as the track goes, I’ve heard there are some new bumps. Chicagoland races like a big track whereas Kentucky races a little bit smaller. I think it’s because Chicagoland has more banking, but I’m not sure. I just know that some 1.5s feel like they’re a mile long and others feel like they’re 2 miles long.”

· RHR on racing at night: “I think it’s great for the fans. On the track, it’s the same for the drivers–night or day–but for the fans, everything looks a lot faster at night. There is one challenge associated with racing at night, though. On the in and out laps, it’s hard coming off the oval at 200 mph onto the access road which isn’t really lit up very well. You have to be very fast around the access road coming into pit lane and when you come off a very well lit oval onto a darker area that is flat with no banking, it is definitely difficult. One advantage to racing at night is that the track changes less because you don’t have as much of a temperature fluctuation.”

· Vitor Meira to be at Chicagoland: Meira, who hasn’t missed a race in the States since his first one back at Watkins Glen, will be at Chicagoland this weekend. Although he isn’t driving, Meira works as a teammate to Hunter-Reay; they discuss the track, car set-up and race strategy with team owner A.J. Foyt and chief engineer Adam Schaechter.

ABC Supply roofing customer Vande Roofing, Siding & Construction of Roscoe, IL won the ‘Your Name Here’ contest for the PEAK Antifreeze & Motor Oil Indy 300. The company name will be atop the sidepods of the No. 14 ABC Supply Dallara/Honda. Keith Vandewoestyner will receive selected merchandise, race tickets, hospitality and garage passes, plus a Meet and Greet with Ryan Hunter-Reay. The “Your Name Here” promotion selected winners by random drawing from a pool of entries sent in by ABC Supply customers earlier this year.

IZOD spokesman Ryan Hunter-Reay will be appearing at the Macy’s department store located at 111 North State Street; Chicago, IL 60602 on Thursday, August 27 from 5:00 – 7 p.m.

On Sunday morning A.J. Foyt will fly to Indianapolis along with some of his crew to watch their first Red Bull Indianapolis GP motorcycle race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Foyt had planned to go last year but Hurricane Ike hit Houston hard and he cancelled his plans to attend. It appears that weather won’t be a factor in this year’s race on Sunday.

· Past performance at Chicagoland Speedway: Hunter-Reay finished ninth last year after starting 16th. In his first appearance at the track in 2007 he started 12th and finished seventh. The Foyt team’s best finish came in 2001 when Donnie Beechler finished fifth and A.J. Foyt IV posted the team’s best start in 2004 which was sixth.

· The PEAK Antifreeze & Motor Oil Indy 300 will be shown live at 9:00 p.m. ET Saturday night, Aug. 29 on VERSUS.

INDIANAPOLIS, Wednesday, June 3, 2009 – Indianapolis Motor Speedway Productions’ brand-new, state-of-the-art high-definition mobile production truck will play a major role in telling the story of the upcoming NBA Finals, set to begin Thursday, June 4 in Los Angeles.

IMS Productions engineers Jason King and Paul Nijak will accompany the truck to the Staples Center in Los Angeles and assist in producing the studio shows for NBA Entertainment that take place before, during and after the NBA Finals games in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Lakers are playing the Orlando Magic in the best-of-seven series.

“We are proud to provide state-of-the-art HD mobile production facilities to the NBA for its championship series,” said Charlie Morgan, IMS Productions president and chief executive officer. “While people know us for our racing expertise, we are thrilled to provide our facilities and professional staff for all types of sports and entertainment productions nationwide.”

The all-digital truck, named “IMS-HD2,” has already provided the platform for several major automotive-related broadcasts. The NBA Finals will see its first use by an IMS Productions customer outside the automotive arena.

IMS Productions used HD2 to produce the Dana Mecum’s Original Spring Classic Auction May 13-17 for Discovery Communications HD Theatre channel. HD2 also was used to produce the Indianapolis 500 world television feed and the Indianapolis 500 Victory Celebration broadcast last month. IMS Productions will produce four more Mecum auctions for HD Theatre this year.

IMS Productions’ HD1 truck has been in operation for several years, producing high-definition programming for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and other sports and non-sports related clients. For more information on IMS Productions, visit
www.imsproductions.tv or call (317) 492-8770.

IMS Productions provides technical services to ABC and VERSUS for broadcasting of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race and the other races of the IndyCar Series. In addition, the firm is noted for its award-winning production content.

IMSP also operates the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network, the pioneer in radio racing networks, originating broadcasts of the Indianapolis 500, all IndyCar Series races and the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard.

***

2009 IMS tickets: Established in 1909, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway has long prevailed as an icon of motorsports excellence. Beginning in 2009, the Speedway celebrates its Centennial Era, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the facility in 2009 and the 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race in 2011.

Tickets for the two remaining events in 2009 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway – the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard and Red Bull Indianapolis GP – can be purchased online at www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com at any time.
