No. 33 Rheem Heating, Cooling & Water Heating Chevrolet Silverado

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race 21 of 25 – Las Vegas Motor Speedway

ROLLING THE DICE IN VEGAS: Cale Gale will climb behind the wheel of the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Silverado this weekend when the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series heads to Las Vegas. The Smith’s 350 will be Gale’s third appearance in the Truck Series this season and his second race with the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) team. The Saturday afternoon showdown will be Gale’s first Truck Series event at the 1.5-mile Nevada facility, but the young driver has made laps around the track during a NASCAR Nationwide Series test session for KHI 2008.

LOOKING FOR LADY LUCK: During the past eight seasons, KHI has made 12 starts at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The company has earned one pole, two top-five and four top-10 finishes, and has been credited for leading 72 laps. Four-time Truck Series Champion, Ron Hornaday captured KHI’s sole Las Vegas Truck Series pole back in 2008.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 Rheem team will unload chassis No. 046 this weekend as the Truck Series heads to Sin City. Veteran driver Ron Hornaday has earned two wins with this chassis this season, at Texas Motor Speedway in June and Atlanta Motor Speedway in September. Hornaday also raced this chassis at Dover International Speedway in May and at Kentucky Speedway back in July. Most recently Gale used this chassis during the Kentucky 225 at Kentucky Speedway on October 1.

NO. 33 PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Gale joined the No. 33 Rheem team as the Truck Series made their way to Kentucky Speedway for the Kentucky 225. The 150-lap event was the Mobile, Ala., native’s first Truck Series start at the 1.5-mile track. Gale started the race from the 24th position and moved up through the field, to as high as 12th, before crossing the finish line in the 15th position.

What are your expectations going into the race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway?

“I’m excited about getting back in the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet this weekend. I have never raced at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I have tested a Nationwide car there back in 2008, but I’m sure the track has aged some since then so it will take a bit to get used to it again. Talking with some other drivers, the track has developed a pretty rough racing surface, so I’ll be interested to see how different it is to drive now compared to the last time I was there. I have to thank everyone at Rheem for their support of my racing career.”

SPEED ON BOARD: Driver Scott Speed will join the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) team this weekend as the NASCAR Nationwide Series heads north to Canada. Speed will pilot the Rheem Chevrolet Impala at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, the third and final road-course event of the season. The California native has 13 starts in the series with one pole (Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 2009) and eight top-10 finishes. This will be his first Nationwide Series start since the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2009.

FIRST TIME: Speed will sport yellow rookie stripes on the back on the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet this weekend marking the driver’s first Nationwide Series start at the 15-turn road course. Speed has two starts in Formula One at Montreal with a best finish of 10th in 2006.

KHI AT MONTREAL: KHI has made a total of five starts at the Montreal, Canada track since the inaugural event in 2007 with three top-five finishes. Max Papis earned the highest-finishing spot for the organization in 2010 with a second-place finish.

“I am super excited to get back to Montreal. It has always been one of my favorite cities in the world. It is going to be very interesting to run on a track in a stock car where I’ve run in a Formula One car, I look forward to it though. We are going there with one goal, and that is to win for KHI and Rheem. I’m thankful for this opportunity and I hope to make them proud.”

No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Impala

NASCAR Nationwide Series Race 20 of 34 – Nashville Superspeedway

DILLON & KHI TOGETHER AGAIN: Austin Dillon returns to the driver’s seat of No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Impala this weekend at Nashville Superspeedway for his third start with the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) team. Dillon made his first NASCAR Nationwide Series start at the track and first start with the team in April. The young driver qualified the No. 33 Chevrolet in the third position and finished the day in seventh. In May, Dillon piloted the Rheem KHI entry at Iowa Speedway where he finished 10th after starting from the third position.

NASHVILLE NUMBERS: KHI collectively has 18 starts in the Nationwide Series at Nashville Superspeedway. Team co-owner Kevin Harvick has the company’s only win at the Tennessee track. In 2010 the driver led 52 laps en route to victory lane. In addition to Harvick’s win, KHI has four top-five and eight top-10 finishes.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 Rheem team has prepared chassis No. 071 for this Saturday’s race at Nashville. The KHI team has utilized this particular chassis five times thus far this season. Team co-owner Kevin Harvick drove to a third-place finish at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif., earlier this year and to a 16th-place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May. Paul Menard competed with this chassis twice, including a third-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway in April and fourth-place finish at Michigan International Speedway in June. Driver Clint Bowyer ran this chassis at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway in May where he finished sixth.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Kevin Harvick and the No. 33 Rheem team collected a second-place finish last weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway after starting from the same position. With the runner-up finish, the KHI co-owner set a new Nationwide Series record, becoming the all-time top-10 finishes leader with 199. In the week prior to New Hampshire, Harvick tied record-holder Tommy Houston with a second-place result at Kentucky Speedway The second-place finish is the No. 33 team’s eighth top-five and 12th top-10 finish in 19 races this season.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: AUSTIN DILLON

“We’ve been fast all year in the KHI Chevrolets with two top-five finishes. Now, I’m looking for a win. I really like racing at Nashville, and I have a bunch of experience there between NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series starts, so I think experience will play to my favor this weekend. It’s a great track to race on. There’s a lot of room to move around and the track is unique because of its concrete racing surface.”

(July 11, 2011) – The Kevin Harvick Foundation and longtime partner Rheem Manufacturing Company have teamed up with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to host a group of 50 youth from the Boys & Girls Club of Manchester on Wednesday, July 13 for the Northeast Delta Dental Eastern League All-Star Game in Manchester, N.H. In addition to attending the game, the group will participate in a Home Run Derby with Kevin Harvick Foundation co-founders Kevin and DeLana Harvick and players from the New England Fisher Cats minor league baseball team.

Harvick, a driver in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series champion, will drive the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Impala show car around the warning track on his way to the pitcher’s mound to throw out the first pitch. Immediately following the first pitch, he and his wife, DeLana, will accept a $50,000 donation to the Kevin Harvick Foundation from Rheem.

“DeLana and I are really looking forward to this event,” said Harvick. “Together with Rheem we took a group of kids to the beach at Daytona (Fla.) last summer and this year, we’re heading to the ballpark. Rheem has been a wonderful partner and with their generous donation, the Kevin Harvick Foundation will not only be able to bring these kids to the ballgame but support and benefit so many more children.”

“Rheem is pleased to continue working with the Kevin Harvick Foundation to support the well being of children throughout our nation. By sponsoring wonderful events like this one benefiting the Manchester Boys & Girls Club, we know that our support will help the Kevin Harvick Foundation to continue the important work of providing meaningful assistance to other children throughout the U.S.,” said Ed Raniszeski, Rheem corporate director of marketing. “This is now the second year that we’ve joined with Kevin and DeLana Harvick and their Foundation to bring a fun-filled, entertaining event to children in one of NASCAR’s racing communities who may never otherwise get a chance to attend a professional ballgame, a NASCAR race or meet a champion racecar driver. Childhood is a time for innocence and dreaming, and Rheem is grateful for the opportunity to play a small part today in making the dreams of children come alive in Manchester.”

The Kevin Harvick Foundation and Rheem are also providing the group of children with tickets to the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 16. The No. 33 Rheem Heating, Cooling and Water Heating Chevrolet Impala, which will be driven by Harvick, will carry a special decal commemorating the ballpark event.

About the Kevin Harvick Foundation:

Established in 2010 by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kevin Harvick and his wife, DeLana, the mission of the Kevin Harvick Foundation is to support programs that positively enrich the lives of children throughout the United States. The foundation works to not only improve the quality of life, but to help underprivileged youth find and realize their dreams by supporting programs such as the Kevin Harvick Athletic Scholarship Fund at California State University, Bakersfield, Kevin’s Krew, Kevin Harvick Foundation Chase Your Dreams Scholarships and a camper cabin at Victory Junction.

No. 33 Rheem Heating, Cooling & Water Heating Chevrolet Impala

NASCAR Nationwide Series Race 12 of 34 – Iowa Speedway

DILLON READY FOR IOWA: Austin Dillon and the No. 33 Rheem team head to Newton, Iowa for the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Iowa Speedway. Sunday’s race will mark Dillon’s second start with the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) team. The young driver made his first start in the No. 33 Chevrolet Impala in April at Nashville Superspeedway where he captured his career-best series qualifying effort with a third-place starting position. Dillon finished the event seventh.

IOWA SUCCESS: This weekend’s race will be Dillon’s second Nationwide Series start at the 0.875-mile facility. In 2009, he qualified 16th and finished in the 28th position. The 21-year-old is no stranger to success, however, at Iowa. In the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race last season, Dillon started from the pole and went on to lead a dominating 187 of 250 laps on his way to victory lane.

He’s also gained solid experience in other racing series at Iowa. The driver has two top-10 finishes in two starts (2009, 2008) in the K&N Pro Series East. In 2009, Dillon also competed in the ARCA Racing Series event at Iowa where he started in the 30th position and finished second.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 Rheem team has prepared chassis No. 066 for this weekend’s event at Iowa Speedway. The KHI team has competed with this chassis in three events this season with top-10 results. KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick drove this chassis to a third-place finish at Phoenix International Raceway in February and to a sixth-place finish at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway back in March. Driver Paul Menard piloted this particular chassis to a second-place finish at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway on April 29.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Clint Bowyer walked away unharmed from a wild late-race accident at Dover (Del.) International Speedway, which sent the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet sliding on its side before making contact with the inside wall that separates the track from pit road. Rain caused NASCAR to set the field for the 200-lap event per the rule book, which determined the starting lineup according to practice speeds.

Bowyer started the race from the third position and kept the No. 33 Rheem machine in the top-five for most of the event. The race went into overtime after an accident brought out the caution flag with two laps to go in the scheduled 200-lap window. The driver was in the third position as the lead cars approached the white flag on the second attempt at a green-white-checkered finish. The driver running in second place made contact with Bowyer which caused the wild accident and subsequently ended the race. The No. 33 was scored with a 14th-place finish.

THOUGHTS FROM DILLON ON IOWA:

What are your thoughts on racing at Iowa?

“Iowa is a track I’ve really adapted to. It’s far away from home, but it feels like home because I’ve been there so many times and the fans are always so supportive. The track has a lot of character. There is a little bump in turn one so you have to get your car working through there, and then in turns three and four, you drive all the way up to the wall. That contrast creates a really good racing environment, with two and three-wide racing.”

NASCAR Nationwide Series Race 11 of 34 – Dover (Del.) International Speedway

BOWYER GOING FOR THREE AT DOVER: The NASCAR Nationwide Series heads to Dover (Del.) International Speedway this weekend where teams will look to conquer the one-mile track known as the Monster Mile. The driver of the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Impala has done just that, twice. In nine Nationwide Series starts at the facility, Clint Bowyer has two wins (2009, 2006), five top-five and seven top-10 finishes. The driver has led 171 laps around the concrete oval.

BY THE NUMBERS: The No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) team has five top-five and eight top-10 finishes in the season’s first 10 races. With Bowyer behind the wheel of the No. 33 Chevrolet, the team has collected one top-five and two top-10 finishes in three races together. The driver-team combination started second at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway, but finished 22nd after falling victim to a late-race multi-car accident.

KHI LOOKING TO BEAT THE MONSTER: KHI heads to Dover without any Nationwide Series poles or wins to their credit. The 1.0-mile facility is one of 11 tracks on the current series schedule at which KHI has yet to top qualifying or make the trip to victory lane.

In 16 Nationwide Series starts at Dover, the Kernersville, N.C. based team has a record of two top-five and six top-10 finishes. The organization’s best start is fifth (2009) and best finish is fifth, (2010, 2006) all with co-owner Kevin Harvick in the driver’s seat.

CHASSIS HISTORY: This weekend at Dover International Speedway, crew chief David Hyder and the No. 33 Rheem team will unload chassis No. 069. The KHI team utilized this particular chassis at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March with Kevin Harvick behind the wheel. After qualifying fourth, the team was relegated to a 28th-place finish due to damage sustained in a late-race incident. The No. 33 team also competed with chassis No. 069 at Nashville Superspeedway with driver Austin Dillon. The young driver made his KHI debut starting the event in the third position and brought home a seventh-place finish.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Clint Bowyer piloted the No. 33 Chevrolet Impala to a sixth-place finish last weekend at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway. The top-10 finish keeps the No. 33 KHI team’s hold on the second position in the Nationwide Series Owner’s Points standings, 34 markers out of the lead.

What are your thoughts about this weekend’s race at Dover?

“I really like Dover. The banking is like Bristol but the straightaways are really fast. It has been one of my better tracks and I’m excited to be back in the No. 33 Rheem Chevy and with the KHI guys this weekend. I think if we can get the balance of the car just right and stay out of any accidents, we will be able to get this Rheem Chevy into victory lane.”

No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Impala

NASCAR Nationwide Series Race 8 of 34 – Nashville Superspeedway

AUSTIN DILLON SET TO MAKE KHI DEBUT: Driver Austin Dillon will make his Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) debut this weekend in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Nashville Superspeedway. Dillon, a full-time driver in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for Richard Childress Racing (RCR), will pilot the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Impala in what will also be his first Nationwide Series start of the 2011 season.

NEW TO NATIONWIDE AT NASHVILLE: While Dillon has no previous series starts at the 1.333-mile concrete Tennessee track, he has two Truck Series events under his belt. The driver competed in both Truck Series races last season with a best finish of second.

Dillon made his Nationwide Series debut in 2008 at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway in September. He has seven career starts with one top-five and one top-ten finish.

KHI GOING FOR ANOTHER GIBSON: With KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick behind the wheel the No. 33 team captured the win at Nashville Superspeedway last spring, the second of three victories for the team during the 2010 season. After starting from the outside pole, Harvick led 52 of the 225 laps en route to collecting the infamous Gibson guitar trophy. The win was the two-time series champion’s second in four starts, but first win in his own equipment at the facility.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 Rheem team, led by crew chief David Hyder, will unload chassis No. 069 this weekend at Nashville Superspeedway. Kevin Harvick was in the driver’s seat the last time this chassis saw competition at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in February. Harvick started the race from the fourth position but was relegated to a 28th-place finish after sustaining damage in a late-race incident.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Clint Bowyer piloted the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Impala last weekend at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. Bowyer, in the same chassis the team finished second with in the season-opening event at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, qualified on the outside pole for the start of the event, but fell victim to the notorious “big one” at the 2.66-mile track. The Rheem team ultimately brought home a 22nd-place finish.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: AUSTIN DILLON

What are your thoughts heading into the NASCAR Nationwide Series race since you haven’t run in that particular series at Nashville?

“It’s going to be a learning experience for sure. I went to Gresham Motorsports Park with the No. 33 team and tested in order to prepare for this race, but it will no doubt be different when I’m in the car under race conditions. The good thing is that I can lean on Kevin Harvick and Elliott Sadler. Both have always been very willing to help me, and I plan to use their input a lot throughout the weekend.”

What does it mean to race for KHI in the NASCAR Nationwide Series?

“[Kevin] Harvick has always been one of my heroes, so it means a lot to me to be able to race for him. He’s always been able to get it done in a race car. I admired him growing up, and I think I can learn a lot from him. Kevin Harvick Inc. has really good equipment, so I’m just excited to go to Nashville and be able to drive the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet.”

Are you a country music fan?

“Oh yeah, I love country music. It would be awesome to get the Gibson guitar. I like old country, new country, a little bit of everything. I listen to classic country with my grandfather.”

About Rheem:

No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Impala

NASCAR Nationwide Series Race 7 of 34 – Talladega Superspeedway

BOWYER BACK FOR SUPERSPEEDWAY ACTION: Clint Bowyer will climb back behind the wheel of the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Impala this weekend at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway for the first time since the NASCAR Nationwide Series season opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway in February. Bowyer, who sat on the pole, finished a close second to Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) teammate Tony Stewart in the first race of 2011. The KHI one-two finish, the third for the company in Nationwide Series competition, also landed the organization in the record books. Stewart edged the No. 33 by 0.007 seconds, the closest finish in the Nationwide Series at Daytona and the third closest in series history.

WINLESS AT DEGA: The Emporia, Kan. native has seven starts at the 2.66-mile Alabama track in the Nationwide Series with one top-five and two top-10 finishes. Bowyer started from the pole once (2004) and has a best finish of fifth (2006). This weekend will mark Bowyer’s first Nationwide Series race at the track with KHI and he’ll be on a mission to erase his goose egg in the Talladega win column.

KHI SUCCESS: Over the last eight seasons, the KHI stable has fielded cars between six different drivers at Talladega: Tony Stewart (three races), Burney Lamar, Bobby Labonte, Cale Gale, Ryan Newman and KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick. In total, the organization has posted four top-five and four top-ten finishes, along with a victory from Labonte behind the wheel of the No. 77 KHI Chevrolet in 2007.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 Rheem team will utilize chassis No. 067 this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. This is the same chassis the team competed with in the season-opening event at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway in February. In that event, Bowyer drove the No. 33 machine to a second-place finish.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Paul Menard took to the driver’s seat of the No. 33 Menards Chevrolet Impala last weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. In his first Nationwide Series start of the season and his first start with KHI, Menard qualified the No. 33 Chevrolet in the fifth position and drove to a third-place finish. The solid performance pushes the KHI team closer to the Owner’s Point lead. The No. 33 is in third place, one point out of first.

BOWYER’S THOUGHTS ON TALLADEGA:

What are your thoughts going into this weekend’s race at Talladega Superspeedway?

“We were so close to winning the race at Daytona back in February. The No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet was super fast. We started from the pole and had a great run. We finished second and it was cool that KHI won with [Tony] Stewart but I really wanted to win that race. I’ll have great teammates in Kevin Harvick and Elliott Sadler this weekend. I’m really looking forward to being back in the No. 33 KHI car and hopefully I’ll get the win this time.”

About Rheem:

No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Impala

NASCAR Nationwide Series Race 4 of 34 – Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway

HARVICK HEADED TO THE WORLD’S FASTEST HALF-MILE: The NASCAR Nationwide Series returns to action this week, heading to the 0.533-mile concrete oval of Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. Armed with an impressive series record at the Tennessee short-track, Kevin Harvick will look to place his No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Impala back in victory lane.

BRISTOL RECORD HOLDER: In 20 Nationwide Series starts, the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) co-owner has built a stout Bristol resume, one that includes several track records:

- Harvick holds the series’ track record for the most wins with five. His most recent victory at Bristol in March of 2009 was a personal milestone as it was the driver’s first win in his own equipment.

- By leading 241 laps en route to his first Nationwide Series victory at the track in August of 2000, the driver holds the record for the most laps led by a race winner.

- Harvick has the most top-five finishes (13) in the series at Bristol.

- He is one of only seven drivers in 57 Nationwide Series races to win the event from the pole position.

In total, the two-time series champion has five wins, 13 top-five and 16 top-10 finishes, has led 1,075 laps and collected three poles.

SUPPORT THE KEVIN HARVICK FOUNDATION: The Kevin Harvick Foundation (KHF) has teamed up this season with the NASCAR Foundation to auction off some great items for kids in need. One of the featured items up for grabs is a pair of race-used Rheem driving gloves autographed by Kevin Harvick. All proceeds from the items benefit the KHF. For more information on the gloves and other items, be sure to check out: http://www.kevinharvickfoundation.org/news/season-kick-off-online-auction/.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: After a late-race incident,Kevin Harvick and the No. 33 Rheem team left Las Vegas Motor Speedway two weeks ago with a 28th-place finish. Harvick started the 200-lap event from the fourth position, shooting to the lead in the opening laps of the race. The No. 33 Chevrolet Impala held track-position among the top-10 for the majority of the day until front-end damage sustained on lap 143 sent the team to the garage for repairs.

CHASSIS HISTORY: This weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway the No. 33 Rheem team will utilize chassis No. 066. This is the same chassis which the team competed with in the February 26 event at Phoenix International Raceway. With Kevin Harvick behind the wheel, the No. 33 Chevrolet finished third.

Kevin Harvick

HARVICK’S THOUGHTS ON BRISTOL:

What are your thoughts heading into Bristol this weekend?

“Bristol is one of my favorite tracks we go to. It’s such a unique track, with the steep banking and a fast concrete surface. I always look forward to racing at Bristol. We’ve been very fortunate to have a lot of success there. I won my first Nationwide race in my own equipment in 2009, which was special in itself, but pretty cool that it came at a place where I’ve had so much success in the Nationwide Series.”

About Rheem:

Rheem Manufacturing Company (www.rheem.com) is a privately held company with headquarters in Atlanta, Ga. In its 82nd year of operation, the company distributes throughout North America and world markets an award-winning line of eco-friendly, technologically advanced residential and commercial heating, cooling, water heating, whole-home standby generators, controls, pool and spa heaters, indoor air purification products and commercial boilers. The nation’s leading consumer products review magazine recently reported that Rheem products have been rated most reliable among all leading brands by tens of thousands of consumers. The premium brands of Rheem Manufacturing Company include Ruud, Raypak and Rheem. Rheem Manufacturing Company is the primary sponsor of Kevin Harvick Inc.’s No. 33 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and is a primary sponsor of the No. 2 Truck for select events in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Impala

NASCAR Nationwide Series Race 1 of 34 – Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway

BOWYER ON BOARD: Driver Clint Bowyer will kick-off the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series season behind the wheel of the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Impala for Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) on February 19 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. Bowyer has two preview starts with KHI in the Nationwide Series at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway and Darlington (S.C.) Raceway in 2004. The Emporia, Kansas native will compete in nine events this season in the No. 33 Rheem machine.

DAYTONA SUCCESS: KHI is no stranger to success at Daytona. The team returns to the newly resurfaced 2.5-mile superspeedway as the defending race winner. Tony Stewart drove the No. 4 Ritz / Oreo Chevrolet Impala to victory lane last February giving KHI their third season-opening win. Behind the wheel of the No. 33 car, Stewart grabbed KHI’s first win in the Nationwide Series in the 2005. The following year, Stewart not only claimed victory again but also gave KHI its first one-two finish as the No. 77 KHI Chevrolet Impala placed a close second behind the No. 33.

Bowyer also knows his way to Daytona’s victory lane. After starting from the pole, the driver led 48 laps en route to winning the July Nationwide Series event in 2009. This season’s opener will mark Bowyer’s 12th-career series start at the track. In addition to a win, he has collected seven top-five and nine top-10 finishes. Bowyer has completed 99.9 percent of laps attempted and has an average finishing position of 6.7.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY: In 2011, KHI will celebrate their 10th year of competition in NASCAR. Team co-owner Kevin Harvick made KHI’s first start in the Truck Series event at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway in 2001, narrowly missing the win by inches to series veteran Jack Sprague. Ten years later Kevin and DeLana Harvick have two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championships to their credit and multiple wins with a host of drivers to boast in their over 80,000 square foot facility in Kernersville, North Carolina. During 2011 all KHI vehicles will carry a commemorative decal as the company celebrates their accomplishments over the last 10 years.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 Rheem team will utilize chassis No. 067 this weekend at Daytona International Speedway. Chassis No. 067 is a new chassis that has undergone extensive testing in the wind tunnel during the off season.

NEW TO THE RHEEM TEAM:

Driver Scott Speed will join the KHI family and the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet team for two Nationwide Series races this season. Speed will pilot the No. 33 car at Iowa Speedway on August 6 and at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal on August 20. Speed made 13 starts in the Nationwide Series in 2009. He collected one pole and posted eight top-10 finishes.

BOWYER’S THOUGHTS ON DAYTONA:

What are your thoughts going into the race at Daytona International Speedway?

“I’m really excited to get behind the wheel of this No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet this season. KHI builds quality equipment and they’ve shown they are definitely competitive every weekend. I will have great teammates with Elliott Sadler and Tony Stewart. Both of those guys are really good superspeedway drivers so I’ll definitely look to hook up with them. I’ve been fortunate to win at Daytona in the Nationwide Series and I’d love nothing more than to start the season right off the bat in victory lane.”

Gale will drive the No. 2 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) Chevrolet Silverado in the races.

Rheem entered NASCAR as an associate sponsor in 2007 and stepped up as a primary NASCAR Nationwide Series sponsor of KHI’s No. 33 Chevrolet in 2008 with Gale driving the company’s first Nationwide race at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. The Rheem Racing program now includes sponsorship of NASCAR’s Canadian Tire Series, Camping World Truck Series, Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup Series.

The 25-year-old Gale, named after legendary NASCAR driver Cale Yarborough, racked up an average starting position of 6.8 in six Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) Series starts, an even more impressive finishing position average of 3.5 and scored his first win in 2006. He made a combined 27 NASCAR Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series starts from 2006 to 2008 for KHI. Gale’s 11th Nationwide Series start was in the now-familiar black and red Rheem Chevrolet at Daytona International Speedway in 2008. That same year, Gale won the pole in the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway finishing fourth.

One of the many driver casualties of the recession, Gale went on to drive for Rheem in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series in 2009 along with competing in super late models throughout the southeastern United States. In 2010, the former Mobile (Ala.) International Speedway super-stock and late-model champion, made his debut as a crew chief in the ARCA Racing Series for Richard Childress Racing as well as working as a shock specialist and race-day engineer for Turner Motorsports in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

“There are many, many things Rheem likes about Cale Gale, including his driving ability and rich driving heritage. But, what Rheem most appreciates about Cale is his tenacity, dedication and sincere commitment to achieving excellence at the highest levels of professional stock car racing,” said JR Jones, Rheem CEO and President.

In addition to putting Gale in the seat of six Camping World Truck Series races this season, Rheem is also the primary sponsor of Gale’s No. 83 Rheem Chevrolet Super Late Model car. Recently, Gale put the Rheem No. 83 on the pole at Pensacola’s famed Snowball Derby while setting a new track qualifying record of 16:33.

The lack of sponsors at every level of racing due to the economy has threatened to discourage talented young drivers to pursue their dreams as well as to reduce the ability of NASCAR’s leading racing teams to invest in driver development. Ed Raniszeski, Rheem Corporate Director of Marketing who is responsible for the Rheem Racing program said, “Racing is an important part of our marketing program. The Rheem Way is to focus on excellence at every level of the process; it is difficult to achieve or sustain quality without investing at each step of product development and customer satisfaction. That belief is at the core of the Rheem culture, so it is natural for Rheem to be involved from the highest to the most fundamental levels of racing. It is good for our company and our brands to help support the future quality of racing.”

In 2011, Gale takes another step on the journey he began with his father and racing coach, Bubba Gale, at age four. Before the racing season closes at Pensacola’s Snowball Derby, Gale will have racked up more high quality seat time than at any time in his career. “I am so thankful to Rheem for stepping up to support and believe in me. It is an opportunity of a lifetime; I am looking forward to being back behind the wheel at the NASCAR level representing my great sponsor Rheem as well as being back with KHI,” said Gale.

Gale will drive the No. 2 Rheem Chevrolet Silverado at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway, Texas Motor Speedway, Iowa Speedway, Kentucky Speedway, Las Vegas (Nev.) Speedway and Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.

National Speedway for SPEEDFEST 2011. Last year in this event, Gale finished eighth in the Kirk May No. 14 entry.

Gale has competed in SPEEDFEST for many years dating back to the Lakeland Speedway days capturing wins in the Super Truck series and he is excited about his chances winning this weekend. “Starting the 2011 racing season with a win would really be good for not just me but for my dad and the rest of the guys that work so hard day in and day out getting ready to compete,” Gale said.

Gale has started his last two races from the pole position which included the Snowball Derby in December but didn’t get the finishes he was looking for. This will be the third race in this car and when asked about his level of excitement Gale said he was confident in the car and the team.

Team Rheem will be well represented this weekend at Lanier Speedway with Brandon Jones and Spencer Davis competing in the Rheen Super Truck 100. This will be the second race of the 2011 season for the two young guns with Jones looking to capitalize on his second place finish earlier this month in the Shriners Bowl.

SPEEDFEST is this weekend with practice and qualifying today and Saturday. Features are starting with the Rheem Super Truck 100 on Saturday night and the Pro and Super Late Models running on Sunday afternoon. (November 14, 2010) – With a brand new Super Late Model and determination in his heart, Cale Gale brought the No. 83 Rheem / 4-Way Truck Sales and Parts Chevrolet home in eighth place during Sunday’s World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park

Gale started the race from the pole position after breaking a new track record and being the first driver in the history of the half mile oval to break in to the 15 second mark, but when the green flag fell, Bubba Pollard led the way. After the first lap was complete, a spin by Dwayne Buggay in turn four brought out the first caution of the day. On the restart, Gale was running in third when a huge wreck behind him on the front stretch involving twelve cars brought out the red flag.

The field went back green on lap nine and things settled down for Gale as he seemed content on riding in the third position reporting that the car was a little free in but other than that he was pleased. By lap 50, the No. 83 machine had dropped back to sixth and on lap 56, he had fallen to eighth when he reported to his dad Bubba Gale and car chief Alex Query that his car just didn’t seem right and he could have a tie-rod issue.

On lap 60, Gale brought his Rheem / 4-Way Truck Sales and Parts machine down pit road to see what the problem was and front tire changer Eddie Pearson found he had a loose wheel. After the problem was fixed, the No. 83 was two laps down.

At the half-way point, Gale was in tenth position coming in on lap 151 for an adjustment with the race staying green until lap 253. The final stop was made on lap 256 with the No. 83 Chevrolet getting four tires and fuel.

A late caution on lap 289 caused the field to restart for the last time with eleven laps to go. Gale restarted ninth and was able to move up one position bringing home a solid top-ten finish in a brand new race car.

Gale never lost focus on the task at hand and that was finish the race, keep the car in one piece, and get a top ten result at the end. “I was digging as hard as I could dig,” Gale said. “I really wanted to get the best finish we could today after the wheel issue, this team worked so hard to get this car ready for this race and we did break a track record so I am proud of that and we will now get ready for the Snowball Derby.”

(October 16, 2010) - Returning from the West Coast to the hub of NASCAR, the Nationwide Series took to the track at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway Friday night for 200 laps of action in the final Nationwide Series new car race of the 2010 season. Looking for his first-career win at the 1.5-mile track, Kevin Harvick started the Dollar General 300 from the 14th position and piloted the No. 33 Rheem Tankless Water Heaters Chevrolet to a 10th-place finish.

“We had a good car,” said Harvick following the race. “Unfortunately, we had a plan and things did not fall our way and we ended up in traffic that affected the handling of the car. The guys have done a great job building the new cars and we’ve been solid every time we’ve competed in them this season, including winning the new car race at Richmond from the pole.”

Starting the race from the 14th position, Harvick quickly radioed crew chief Ernie Cope under the first two early cautions that the car was too loose.

Settling in for a long green-flag run, Harvick made his way to the 10th position when teams began to hit pit road for the first scheduled stops of the night. Slowing the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet on lap 55, Harvick pitted for four tires, fuel, a track-bar and air-pressure adjustment to help tighten the handling of the car. As green-flag stops cycled through the field, Harvick was scored in the 14th position on lap 61 as he informed Cope that the car was now looser than the previous run.

Harvick opted to pit again for fuel and a wedge adjustment. The race restarted on lap 70 with Harvick 12th.

After letting the team know that the changes made to the car so far had not helped the handling, two quick cautions allowed Harvick to again pit on lap 82. When Harvick came to pit road from the ninth position, the team reversed the previous wedge adjustment, made a track-bar adjustment, added fuel and put on four fresh tires. Harvick restarted the race on lap 85 from 17th.

With the race continuing under a long-green flag period, Harvick was able to make his way to 10th on lap 119 when the field began to make green-flag stops. Having pitted off sequence of the leaders, Harvick was able to stay on track longer and moved into the lead on lap 145 before making his final scheduled stop for four tires, fuel and another track-bar adjustment. After pit stops cycled through the field, Harvick was ninth on lap 147.

Able to make it to the end of the race on fuel, the team was hoping for another long green-flag run, but the field again slowed on lap 154 when NASCAR slowed the field to correct a penalty which had been mistakenly assigned to another competitor. Opting to stay on track with eventual race winner Brad Keselowski, who was on the same pit strategy as Harvick, the race restarted on lap 160 with Harvick in the second position.

Slipping a few spots, Harvick was scored in the sixth position on lap 183 when the caution waved. The team decided to pit for the final time for four tires and no gas. Harvick restarted the race 11th on lap 186, with the final caution waving two laps later. Restarting the race 12th, Harvick was able to gain two positions to finish the Dollar General 300 10th.

Keselowski won his fifth race of the year followed by Martin Truex Jr., Justin Allgaier, Joey Logano and Clint Bowyer.
